Kamala Harris Twists Scripture to Serve Her Politics

Vice President Kamala Harris managed to send a video greeting to a Christian conference quoting Scripture out of context about Jesus Christ, and then didn’t even bother to mention His name.

In the message to the Quadrennial Session of the General Conference of the African Methodist Episcopal Church taking place in Columbus, Ohio, last week, Harris said, “We are just 10 weeks out from the election, and I know you are already hard at work… organizing souls to the polls, making sure your members are registered and ready to vote.

“Because as we all know, this is the most consequential election of our lifetime. We face a choice between two very different visions for the future of our nation,” she added.

The Democratic presidential nominee laid out her vision, which involves using the power of the federal government to facilitate home ownership and ensure “affordable” health care and child care, and end childhood poverty.

It all sounds pretty expensive for a government already running multi-trillion dollar deficits. Harris wants to raises taxes on businesses and high income individuals to, in theory, pay for plans, but the nation must first dig out of the $2 trillion annual deficit hole created during the Biden-Harris administration.

And keep in mind, raising taxes on job creators tends to hurt economic growth and therefore federal revenue. A higher tax rate does not mean a higher tax revenue if the economy is not growing and new jobs aren’t being created.

Making matters even more aggravating, after calling for further growth of the bloated federal government, Harris used a Bible passage, taken out of context, to try to justify it.

“As the Gospel of Luke tells us, faith has the power to ‘shine a light on those living in darkness’ and to ‘guide our feet in the path of peace,’” she said.

“In moments such as this, faith guides us forward. Faith in the promise of America: freedom, opportunity and justice. Not for some, but for all,” Harris added.

The verse she quoted from, Luke 1:79 in the New International Version apparently, does not say faith has the power to shine a light on those living in darkness and lead them into peace. Only Jesus Christ does.

The context in Luke, chapter one, is the priest Zechariah prophesying about his son John the Baptist, whom he foresaw would grow up to preach about Jesus.

“And you, my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High; for you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for him, to give his people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins, because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace,” Zechariah said.

So Harris is preaching the gospel of salvation through government, trying to use a Bible passage about Jesus Christ to do it. That certainly feels sacrilegious.

The rest just sounds communistic: Faith in government to fulfill the supposed “promise of America” to provide equal material outcomes (housing, healthcare and the rest), with no mention of God.

Harris would do better to not quote Scripture at all, rather than try to make it say something it does not.

Dallas Jenkins Shares Future Vision for ‘The Chosen’

Dallas Jenkins, the creator of “The Chosen,” recently shared exciting news about the show’s expansion and plans in an exclusive interview with Charisma Media. As the series continues to captivate audiences with its unique portrayal of the life of Jesus and His disciples, Jenkins expressed his enthusiasm for its growing success on national television.

The show’s move to the CW network brought “The Chosen” to a wider audience, many of whom may not have previously encountered the series. “It’s really exciting … seeing the show on the CW last year,” Jenkins said. “They did seasons one through three, and the ratings actually improved as the seasons went on, which was shocking to me.” Despite the show’s availability on multiple streaming platforms, Jenkins was pleasantly surprised to see a dedicated viewership tuning in to watch the episodes on the CW network.

Jenkins emphasized the show’s mission to remain transparent with its audience, especially as “The Chosen” relies heavily on donations. “From the beginning, we said we’re going to pull back the curtain, and you’re going to be part of the process,” he explained. “We do survive because of your donations; we have an obligation to let them know where their money is going.” This commitment to transparency extends to the creative choices made in the series, particularly regarding the depiction of biblical events from a fictional standpoint.

Addressing the show’s approach to storytelling, Jenkins acknowledged that “The Chosen” often takes creative liberties while striving to remain true to the essence of the Bible. “I think there are people, of course, who would disagree with some of our choices over the years,” Jenkins noted. “But I think overall, I feel very proud and confident that we have accurately captured the character of Jesus in the Gospels and the character of God.” He stressed that while the show may not always present factual details, it aims to convey “capital T truthful” messages consistent with biblical truths.

Jenkins also highlighted the unique relationship between the show and its audience, particularly through interactive events. “We had … 4,000 people in one day,” Jenkins recalled, referring to scenes filmed with audience participation. “It was a really beautiful experience.” Looking ahead, Jenkins revealed plans for future seasons, including scenes that will again invite fans to become part of the storytelling. “Season six is going to require that again … because it’s the crucifixion season,” he said.

With season four having just premiered on the CW Sunday, Sept. 1, Jenkins encourages viewers to tune in and spread the word. “Even if you’ve seen the season, it’s good to just turn on the TV to that channel … because numbers are what allow these networks and streamers to keep the show there,” Jenkins said. “When they see the success of it, it helps, and it does make a difference.”

For Jenkins, maintaining a strong connection with viewers remains a top priority. “We want you to feel like you’re a part of this,” he shared. As “The Chosen” continues to expand its reach, Jenkins is committed to ensuring that the show not only entertains but also resonates deeply with audiences.

End-Times Imperative: Spiritual Warfare Over Israel

Iran has publicly declared its intent to wipe Israel off the map. Universities, church pension funds and major corporations are divesting rather than investing in Israel. The rise of international antisemitism—whether from Islamists or those on the extreme Left and Right—reveals dark angelic powers are catalyzing concerted attacks to destroy God’s chosen people. At the same time, the ongoing restoration process of the Jewish people to their homeland is a clear marker for the end times.

These are only some of the reasons Psalm 122:6 commands us to “pray for the peace of Jerusalem.” Indeed, if there were ever a time to pray this way—to cry out for the nation of Israel—the time is now. Israel is the apple of God’s eye (Zech. 2:8). God blesses those who bless Israel (Gen. 12:2-3). Jesus Himself wept over Jerusalem (Luke 19:41). And a growing number of intercessors are weeping over the Holy Land in these final days.

Avner Boskey, an Israeli Messianic writer, teacher and theologian, points out a clear end-times connection between the return of our Messiah and the Jewish people.

“The majority of major eschatological events in the Bible are connected to the Jewish people: the Second Coming revealed in Matthew 23:37-39, the restoration of all things and the times of refreshing referenced in Acts 3:19-21, much greater riches for the Gentiles from Romans 11:12 and world revival mentioned in Romans 11:15—a strategic prayer priority as well as a matter very close to God’s own heart,” says Boskey, executive director of Final Frontier Ministries in Israel, speaker and author of “Israel: The Key to World Revival.”

Gunman Targets Pastor Greg Locke’s Home in Shocking Attack

Pastor Greg Locke and his family were the targets of a gunman late on Tuesday night, Sept. 3.

Locke gave the update on Facebook to let people know that he and his family were safe and unharmed, by God’s miraculous grace.

“It’s 2:00 a.m. and for the last three hours our home has been a full-blown crime scene,” Locke writes. “According to the security cam footage, we pulled into our driveway exactly ONE MINUTE after a madman unloaded an entire magazine of bullets from an automatic weapon into our house, garage and my truck. The sound on the video is truly horrific. Detectives will still be here for a good while tonight.”

Locke says one of his children was at home when the shooting took place, but thankfully they were in a different part of the house.

“Only one of our kids was home and thank God not in the same area of the house. As you can see in the last pics, one of the bullets cut through the headboard of our youngest daughter’s bed and lodged in her pillow.”

Following the incident, Locke and his family were taken by security escort to a safe location.

“We are all being security escorted to a hotel tonight. We have no further details. The only detail that matters is that Psalm 91 is true and GOD PROTECTED US IN UNIMAGINABLE AND SUPERNATURAL WAYS. Please pray for the Locke family tonight. We love all of you.”

Just yesterday, Locke’s latest book, “The Generosity Journey,” was released, falling on the one-year anniversary of Global Vision Bible Church’s National Deliverance Training Conference, where many miracles, signs and wonders took place and are still reported today.

End-Times Prayer: Spiritual Warfare Over Israel

Iran has publicly declared its intent to wipe Israel off the map. Universities, church pension funds and major corporations are divesting rather than investing in Israel. The rise of international antisemitism—whether from Islamists or extreme leftists and rightists—reveals dark angelic powers are catalyzing concerted attacks to destroy God’s chosen people. At the same time, the ongoing restoration process of the Jewish people to their homeland is a clear end-times marker.

These are a few of the reasons Psalm 122:6 commands us to “pray for the peace of Jerusalem.” Indeed, if there were ever a time to pray for the peace of Jerusalem—to cry out for the nation of Israel—the time is now. Israel is the apple of God’s eye (Zech. 2:8). God blesses those who bless Israel (Gen. 12:2-3). Jesus Himself wept over Jerusalem (Luke 19:41). And a growing number of intercessors are weeping over the Holy Land in these last days.

“Israel’s enemies are trying to force it to give up land. According to Joel 3:2, this single sin will usher in judgment on the nations,” says Sid Roth, a former account executive for Merrill Lynch who was raised in a Jewish home before accepting Messiah, now host of “It’s Supernatural.” “Simultaneously, God is about to pour out His Spirit worldwide. The devil wants to abort this great harvest by releasing judgment on the nations too early!”

Exploring the End-Times Connection

Avner Boskey, an Israeli Messianic writer, teacher and theologian, makes a clear end-times connection between the return of our Messiah and the Jewish people.

“The majority of major eschatological events in the Bible are connected to the Jewish people: the Second Coming revealed in Matthew 23:37-39, the restoration of all things and the times of refreshing referenced in Acts 3:19-21, much greater riches for the Gentiles from Romans 11:12 and world revival mentioned in Romans 11:15—a strategic prayer priority as well as a matter very close to God’s own heart,” says Boskey, executive director of Final Frontier Ministries in Israel and author of “Israel: The Key to World Revival.”

Human rights lawyer Irwin Cotler told the Israeli Knesset, the legislative branch of the Israeli government, that Jewish people are experiencing a “new, escalating, global, sophisticated, virulent and even lethal anti-Semitism” that discriminates against and assaults Israel’s right to “live as an equal member of the family of nations, in fact, the right even to live.”

Some theologians point to the rise of antisemitism as the fulfillment of Daniel’s prophecy about the end times:

And at that time Michael shall stand up, the great prince who stands guard over the sons of your people. And there shall be a time of trouble such as never was since there was a nation even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, everyone who shall be found written in the book. Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, but others to shame and everlasting contempt. Those who are wise shall shine as the brightness of the expanse of heaven, and those who turn the many to righteousness as the stars forever and ever (Dan. 12:1-3).

Jewish scholars believe this “time of trouble” is a last-days oppression of Israel by Ishmael’s descendants (read: the Arab terrorist attacks against the nation of Israel). The Telegraph highlighted what few in secular media are willing to admit with a headline, “Why is the world ignoring a wave of terror in Israel?” and concluded, “Such acts of pitiless slaughter are the direct result of a pervasive Palestinian infrastructure.”

“Antisemitism will continue to rise, based on the principle, ‘Whatever God chooses to love, Satan chooses to hate,’” Boskey says. “Revelation 12:1, 13 reveals that Satan’s Last Days strategies—like in Moses’ day in Exodus 1:16-22—involves a targeted genocidal attack against the sons and daughters of Jacob. Hitler’s murderous exploits are a precursor to where current events are leading. Surveys and analyses of anti-Semitic attacks across the world show a verifiable increase in such activity. Europe still leads the pack in this regard.”

Robert Stearns, founder and executive director of Eagles’ Wings—a movement of churches, ministries and leaders—also sees antisemitism on the rise at college campuses, in political spheres, in the streets of American cities—and even in our churches.

“We are living in an hour of ideological warfare against the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and against His people, and a pervasiveness of a volatile hatred toward the Jews that can no longer be ignored,” Stearns says. “For Christians, our ability to speak accurately to the issues of our day will be connected to how we respond to matters surrounding the Jewish people.”

Why More Christians Don’t Pray

With so much turmoil in our own nation, most Americans are not praying for the peace of Jerusalem. Even many Christians are not interceding for God’s chosen people. Roth points out the blessings of praying for Israel. Genesis 12:3 promises blessings in all areas of life.

Get your FREE CHARISMA NEWSLETTERS today! Stay up to date with current issues, Holy Spirit news, Christian teachings, Charisma videos & more!

“God promises in Psalm 122:6, if we pray for the peace of Jerusalem, we will prosper,” Roth says. “The word ‘prosper’ in Hebrew means something money can’t buy. It means ‘heart peace.’ When you pray for the peace of Jerusalem, you are praying for the salvation of Jews and Arabs. It’s not an accident that the letters ‘USA’ are in the center of the name Jerusalem. As long as we are a friend of Israel, the USA will be blessed.”

Stearns points to tradition and formalism in the Western church as two reasons more Christians don’t commit to standing in the gap for Israel. He also blames biblical illiteracy and a media that propagates social viewpoints promoting anti-Semitism.

“The issue of Israel in particular carries with it an especially pronounced vulnerability to misinterpretation, which I believe is connected also to the spiritual battle that is being fought against Israel and the Jewish people since the days of the Old Testament,” Stearns says. “That’s evidenced by such biblical accounts as Haman’s evil plots in the days of Esther.”

Releasing Intercession for Israel

So how, then, do we make intercession for Israel? Where do we start? Boskey suggests a three-point prayer request list: 1) physical protection and restoration to the land in light of the rise of anti-Semitism, 2) spiritual revelation among Jewish people about Messiah Yeshua as per Zechariah 12:10 and 3) the Jewish people to enter fully into their prophetic calling as a light and servant to the nations (Isa. 49:5-6, Acts 13:47) and a mighty end-times Spirit-filled army (Ezek. 37:9-11, Zech. 12:1-9, Ps. 110:1-3).

“We also must pray against distortion in the media, against radical Islam and jihad, and against anti-Semitism not only in Israel but around the world,” Stearns says. “Lastly, we must pray diligently for the peace of Jerusalem. By praying faithfully for Israel, we also receive understanding and insights into what God is doing in the world today, so that we can serve God’s purposes with clarity and courage.”

Despite the horrific terror attacks—and despite the reality that Israel is surrounded by enemies—Roth is convinced that God is about to pour out His Spirit on Israel.

“Pray that many Israelis are saved and discipled,” Roth says. “The Jew was called by God to evangelize the world. Watch what happens when Jews are red-hot for Jesus and start evangelizing the nations one more time!”

Morning Rundown: Joyner’s Frustration Over Chris Reed’s Sudden Resignation

Joyner’s Frustration Over Chris Reed’s Sudden Resignation

After the surprise departure of Chris Reed from MorningStar Ministries last week, MorningStar’s founder, Rick Joyner, spoke to the congregation on Sunday, Sept. 1 about Reed’s resignation.

While Joyner says he was “shocked” but not “surprised,” he says it is the way that Chris left suddenly which he found most concerning.

“I did not feel that there was a shepherd’s heart revealed,” Joyner says. “A shepherd lays down their life for the sheep and certainly has regard for them. I didn’t feel like there was regard for me, for our board, any of this stuff that we had entrusted a lot to him. And I don’t think to just quit like that is what we ever need to do with anyone, with no notice.”

September Revelation: God’s Critical Provision Is on the Way

In a brand-new livestream, Katie Souza discussed a prophetic dream she had about what’s coming next during the month of September.

“I am bringing this word because I had an encounter,” Souza says. “I had an encounter yesterday where, in a dream state, I was chanting the words ‘necessary.’”

Souza says this lasted about 15 minutes before she came back out of this state. When she did, she looked up the word “necessary” in Scripture to find out what it had to say about it.

5 Habits That Extinguish the Fire of God

We’ve all been there. Times when we’ve stumbled in our walk with God, and through our own actions removed ourselves from His presence making it feel like He was far away from us. But He was always right there for us, waiting patiently for the prodigal to return.

In a recent message, Pastor Vlad Savchuk of HungryGen ministries expressed how the Lord wants to begin breaking this pattern of backsliding that has tormented the church for generations. No position, no matter how lofty, is safe when we cave to the temptations of the flesh, as we have seen with many high-profile Christian names falling from the calling God placed on their lives especially over this past several months.

Savchuk breaks down five ways where we kill the fire of God in our lives and abandon the straight and narrow path He has us on.

Critics Hate ‘Reagan,’ but I Promise: It Will Inspire You

Midway through the new movie “Reagan,” there’s a scene in which Christian entertainer Pat Boone and evangelist George Otis Sr. visit Ronald Reagan when he’s running for reelection for governor of California. As the men stand outside the governor’s mansion in Sacramento, Otis gives a prophetic message from God to Reagan: “If you walk uprightly before Me, you will reside at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.”

That scene wasn’t fabricated. It really happened. One eyewitness of that moment, author Bob Slosser, said charismatic preacher Harold Bredeson was also with Otis and Boone when they prayed for Reagan that day in 1970. Otis recalled that after he gave Reagan the prophecy, Reagan simply looked up from the prayer circle and said, “Well”—as if he were filing away the profound words in his heart for a later time.

Breaking News. Spirit-Filled Stories. Subscribe to Charisma on YouTube now!

Otis’ prophecy was fulfilled in 1980. Ronald Reagan became the 40th president of the United States, and he is remembered most for courageously confronting communism and helping to dismantle the Soviet Union.

Nobody is surprised that critics don’t like “Reagan.” But while elitist film reviewers gave it low ratings, audiences gave it a 98% score on Rotten Tomatoes. “Reagan” also earned an A from audiences on CinemaScore, and 4 1/2 stars on PostTrak.

Critics today wouldn’t dare give four stars to any movie that has wholesome values or that portrays Christianity in a positive light. But “Reagan” was doubly doomed by critics even before it was screened because several actors in the film—including Dennis Quaid, who plays Reagan like he was born for the role—have publicly endorsed the Republican ticket in the 2024 election.

In this case, I say ignore the critics. I loved this film—not only because Reagan is my all-time favorite president, but because politically incorrect director Sean McNamara (who also directed the faith-based film “Soul Surfer”) unashamedly made Reagan’s Christian faith a central theme.

Jack Hibbs: Deception Surrounds This Major End Times Issue

In a recent podcast episode, Pastor Jack Hibbs highlights one of the most pressing issues of our time, calling for unwavering support for Israel and cautioned against the misinformation being spread by commentators lacking the proper expertise. Emphasizing the nation’s unique role in biblical prophecy, Hibbs challenges the narratives critical of Israel and argues that such positions often stem from a lack of understanding.

Hibbs criticized many conservative commentators for stepping outside their areas of expertise to spread lies and conspiracies about Israel. “Just because you’re famous or just because you have a microphone doesn’t mean that you’re qualified to speak about what’s going on with Israel,” he says, asserting that only those who have studied the topic deeply should weigh in on the matter.

Breaking News. Spirit-Filled Stories. Subscribe to Charisma on YouTube now!

He accused media outlets and influencers of manipulating public perception by sharing outdated or staged footage. “Be careful who you’re listening to,” Hibbs warns, “because God is going to, and He’s about to refocus His attention on Israel.” He claims that various media outlets use “old footage from things where there’s an earthquake and there’s been devastation” to mislead viewers about Israel’s military actions. According to Hibbs, these tactics are intended to frame Israel negatively.

Order Jonathan Cahn’s “The Dragon’s Prophecy” from !

Hibbs further defended Israel’s military, arguing that it is among the most ethical in the world. “There is not a nation on Earth that has a more moral military than Israel, hands down,” he says, citing Israel’s practice of dropping leaflets to warn civilians before military strikes. He shared his personal experiences of witnessing Israeli military briefings and operations, stating, “I’ve sat there with the Israeli Air Force as a spectator in briefings… I’ve seen it with my own eyes.”

The pastor also highlighted the deep and mutually beneficial military and economic ties between the United States and Israel, arguing that cutting off support would harm American interests. “If we did what you’re hearing from many… we should cut Israel off, stop supplying them–you have no idea what you’re talking about,” he says.

Hibbs urges his audience to recognize Israel’s strategic importance to the United States. “If you believe it or not, if you like it or not, Israel is the first line of defense for the United States,” he said, adding that the two countries share intelligence, technology and cultural ties.

He emphasizes the biblical perspective, arguing that supporting Israel aligns with God’s will. “God says… those who bless Israel, He will bless,” Hibbs quoted from the Bible, adding that failing to support Israel is “falling right into the trap that Satan has set for antisemitism.”

Hibbs calls for his listeners to be critical of the media and to ground their understanding of global events, particularly concerning Israel, in biblical teachings. “Watch out for media stunts,” he cautions. “Be smart, be wise, be careful–don’t be a sucker.”

Savchuk breaks down five ways where we kill the fire of God in our lives and abandon the straight and narrow path He has us on.

  1. When you focus more on your love for Jesus than His love for you. “The only light we project is the light we reflect. The only light we give is the light we receive,” Savchuk explains. “We don’t love God because we are loving. We don’t love God because we have an amazing personality trait called fire for God. We love God because we are aware of His passionate pursuit of us and as long as our eyes are on Him, our heart is burning for God.”
  2. When your prayer life goes to sleep. “Anytime you go into prayerlessness, you wake up your past life. Your past is dead. Prayerlessness is the power that raises the dead. Your past is gone. When you stay in prayerlessness, your old habits begin to be quickened and begin to wake up. Things you were delivered from, things you’ve testified to God and to the church and said, I’ve been set free from this,” Savcuk says.
  3. When we follow Jesus at the distance avoiding sacrifice. “At a distance means I’m going to follow Him as close as I can that I don’t lose my life,” Savchuk reveals. “You’re not backsliding. It’s just between me and the Lord is a safe distance. I don’t want to sacrifice. I don’t want to give. I don’t want to crucify my flesh. I don’t want to lay my sin on the cannot be on fire for God if that fire cannot consume you. That fire cannot consume you if you and the Lord have a distance.”
  4. When we numb ourselves with the world’s fire. “There is a desire for something real and authentic and if you do not go 100% send into Jesus, you’re going to have to drift into the world’s fire and pretend to like it,” Savchuk says. “The world’s fire is world’s fire is annihilating because it broke [Peter’s] intimacy with God.”
  5. When we return to our old life. “Some call it deconstruction. Some call it drifting. Some call it backsliding, apostasy. It’s where we go back to where we were,” Savchuk shares. “What you remember about your past life, when you go back to it, it will no longer have exactly same the feelings and ? Because as a child of God, when you walk away from God, God will discipline you.”
