How to Plan Your Own Ultimate Israel Pilgrimage

What if it were possible to travel back in time to ancient Jerusalem, where Jesus made His triumphal entry into the city? Or to take Holy Communion in the Garden Tomb where Christ was once buried? For many Christians, a pilgrimage to the Holy Land is only a dream.

But it doesn’t have to be! With the economy forcing some airline companies to lower prices, consumers like you and me are reaping the benefits.

In March I boarded a 747 jet to take my first trip to Israel. What I discovered there was a dream come true. To follow me to the Holy Land and plan your own pilgrimage, click here.

The Gift That Keeps on Giving

V_LoweThis week I traveled to South Bend, Ind., to attend the funeral-or should I say the home-going service-of my 94-year-old grandfather. Lawrence Lowe Sr. was a spry man and as the patriarch of the Lowe clan, he possessed wisdom far beyond his years.

He stood about 5 feet 11 inches tall, but in my eyes he looked more like 6 foot 6. His ebony complexion hid the scars and hardships of growing up under the burden of racial segregation and Jim Crow laws. But he let nothing stop him from leaving his mark on the earth in his own unique way.

He spent his early years working as a farmer on his dad’s farm along with his eight brothers, and as a carpenter in his latter years. His huge fists no doubt held the key to thousands of family stories that I unfortunately never got a chance to hear.

We all regret when we peer into the casket of a loved one and realize we didn’t get a chance to say “I love you” one more time. But years before my grandfather slipped into eternity, I got the chance to tell him “thank you.” I thanked him for giving me the man in my life-my dad.

Daniel Lowe is an awsome man! His love for me is unconditional, and his guidance is too. When I became a single mom, he stepped into my daughter’s life and became a surrogate father to her. He has instilled character and integrity in me, and today I love the Lord because my earthly father made a believer out of me. It’s my definition of a living legacy.

I believe love and life are the two greatest gifts we can give to one another. The Bible says for God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, and the Son gave His life so that we might spend eternity with Him (see John 3:16).

When we accept Jesus into our lives and live for Him, we not only secure our place in heaven, we leave behind a spiritual legacy that will never die. God’s love is the gift that keeps on giving, and we must pass it on to our children’s children and for generations to come.

Reconciling Men and Women in the Church

In the beginning, God created male and female because both were essential to express the totality of His nature. The entrance of sin into the world through Adam has resulted in centuries of gender conflict and distorted relationships. Only through the cross of Jesus Christ is spiritual equality restored.

Heart Issue

In light of God’s power and His awesome love for you, how do you view your role as a woman of God-restricted or boundless?

Prayer Focus

Father, help us understand what Your Word means when it says we are “fearfully and wonderfully made” in the image and likeness of Almighty God. Thank You for Your infinite love and concern that seeks to draw us out from our hiding places. With You rest all our potential. You will equip and empower us for whatever tasks You assign. Deliver Your daughters everywhere today from the bondages of fear, rejection and self-loathing. Let Your holy wind blow upon us; renew us with fresh stirrings of hope and significance. Remove from our minds and our mouths thoughts and words that have imprisoned us. Let us hear Your voice above every other when You speak to us. Amen.

New Film Exposes Growth of Radical Islam on American Soil

islamThe Clarion Fund released its newest documentary film, The Third Jihad, at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. this week. The film is igniting discussion about radical Islam in America.

Clarion’s first documentary film, the award-winning Obsession: Radical Islam’s War Against the West, communicates the global threat posed by the radical elements of Islam. The Third Jihad shifts the focus to the growth of radical Islam on American soil via “Cultural Jihad,” the use of the democratic system to transform the American way of life from within to a society governed by Sharia Law (Islamic religious law).

“Clarion Fund recognizes the propagation of radical Islam and the promulgation of Sharia Law within our borders as a clear and present crisis affecting the Muslim American community and the American public at large,” said Peter Connors, executive director of Clarion. “Our educational tools and media properties will serve as a platform for the American public – including Muslims – to embrace Western liberties and speak out in a meaningful way to silence radical elements in our midst.”

Among these tools is RadicalIslam.org, the foundation of Clarion’s grassroots movement. The user-friendly website was developed to spread awareness about the threat of radical Islam in America as well as to provide practical response tools. For the launch of the film, the site has been redesigned to include up-to-the-minute updates from major news sources as well as social media-driven networking capabilities.

“We are focused on educating the American public about this eminent threat to their rights and freedoms, with the goal of bringing ‘Creeping Sharia’ to a screeching halt,” explained Raphael Shore, producer of both The Third Jihad and Obsession and the founder of Clarion. “We want to expose the true intent of radical Islam in order to secure the future of the American public at large, including its Muslim community.”

Several American Muslim groups were invited to participate in a roundtable discussion with Dr. Jasser, but they reportedly “declined the invitation.” Among those organizations to decline was the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).

“We invited CAIR and they said they wanted nothing to do with this film,” said Connors. “CAIR’s response is unfortunate, as The Clarion Fund believes that the only way to address this issue is to discuss it openly and honestly with those who agree with us and those who disagree. Then, based on that education, the American public can decide for itself.”

The Third Jihad, which is narrated by devout Muslim American Dr. M. Zuhdi Jasser, centers on the FBI discovery of a Grand Jihad Manifesto calling for the destruction of the U.S. and the establishment of a radical Islamist theocracy in its place.

The film features interviews with experts on radical Islam and American security specialists, including leading expert professor Bernard Lewis, as well as a first-hand account from a former terrorist. All those interviewed agree that the spread of Islamic fundamentalism in America is a societal reality that cannot be ignored.

Though a shortened version of The Third Jihad has spread virally on the Internet since the beginning of the year, the Washington, D.C. screening is serves as the official launch of the feature-length version of the film.

Thank God for His Grace

By now I’m sure you’ve read about it or heard the news. Miss California USA Carrie Prejean will keep her crown despite “racy” photos that appeared on a Web site weeks after the 21-year-old defended traditional marriage during the televised Miss USA pageant.

She told the panel of celebrity judges, a live audience and millions of viewers, she didn’t believe in “opposite marriage.” “I don’t mean to offend anybody,” she said, “but that’s the way I was raised.” She went on to say marriage is between a man and a woman.

I just about fell out my chair watching Carrie that night. I remember thinking to myself, She’s going to lose. But did she? She was named first runner-up in the pageant, but I believe God’s will was done in her life that night.

Carrie told James Dobson during a radio interview this week that she refused to let Satan make her compromise her convictions. She took a stand for traditional marriage and was verbally attacked in the media for her position.

There are so many ways to spin this story, but what resonates most with me is the underlining message of grace. Carrie should have disclosed the information about the photos when she signed the pageant contract. And had she chosen not to pose for a photo shoot wearing skimpy lingerie, she probably wouldn’t be in this predicament.

But she did and Donald Trump had a decision to make: fire Carrie or let her keep her title. He chose the latter.

His decision reminds me of God’s grace toward us. Many of us have done things in the past we are not proud of, but the Father has forgiven us and has wiped the slate clean. And though some people continue in sin, He continues to extend His grace to them with opportunities to turn their lives around.

He then uses our lives as a testimony to His redeeming power. Thank you, Lord!

I am not calling The Donald a saint. I don’t know what his spiritual beliefs are, but as co-owner of the Miss USA/Miss Universe pageants, he has the authority to fire who he chooses.

I’m glad Carrie Prejean decided to take a stand that day when she spoke up for marriage. Though her response opened the door to her past, the Father extended His grace to her opening the door to her future.

The Power of the Prophetic

We all have the ability to reach others for God, but many women are unaware of the secret weapon housed in them. The Holy Spirit has empowered you for purpose, and He wants to use your influence to draw your family members, neighbors, coworkers and others to Him.

The Dysfunctional Church

The true meaning of family has been lost both in our society and in the body of Christ. But with the proper perspective, we can make a difference.

Read Gal. 6:10, Eph. 4:11-16, Eph. 2:19-22

Heart Issue

Do you truly see your fellow Christians as brothers and sisters in Christ? Do you honestly relate to them as such, with the love, care and support one would expect to find in a nurturing family environment?

Prayer Focus

Father, we don’t often consider our roles as members of Your family. When we do, we tend to see our responsibilities as either too small or too demanding to undertake. We frequently forget that our most important calling is to be faithful, no matter what.

You established Your church to function as a living organism. Help us to offer ourselves, willingly, to serve You and to serve one another. Strengthen our resolve to do all we can, as family members, to bring glory to the King and to advance His kingdom. Amen.

Gingrich: ‘Middle East Policies Very Dangerous’

Former U.S. Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich told reporters this week the Obama administration is “on a collision course with Israel,” and said the president’s Middle East policies are “very dangerous,” The Jerusalem Post reported. Gingrich made the comments during the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) Policy Conference.

‘”They are systematically setting up the most decisive confrontation that we’ve ever seen,'” he added. To read more, click here.
