Wake Up, Discover Your Identity and Become a World Changer for Christ

Many believers awaken each morning to a world of uncertainty—a world where they are not quite certain as to where they fit in. It’s a thought that grieves the spirit of Leif Hetland, founder and president of Global Mission Awareness.

That’s because Hetland has a passion and desire to raise up an army of Great Commission Christians and to help Christ-followers discover their calling to help bring a massive harvest of the lost. His ministry has resulted in more than 1 million souls coming to Jesus.

Hetland’s teachings, which he includes twice weekly in his podcast Kingdom Family Talks, help call God’s sons and daughters out of orphan mentalities and into thinking as a kingdom family. And that, he says, is extremely important considering the volatile times in which we are living.

“We need to understand what God is doing in our generation,” Hetland told Dr. Steve Greene on a recent episode of Greenelines on the Charisma Podcast Network. “The question is, where do you fit into? Part of my heart is for us to discover what time misses right now, because we are living in the greatest time the world has ever seen.

“God is doing something, and many people are being distracted by what the enemy is doing because they don’t see what God is doing,” Hetland said. “Where do you fit into God’s plan so that you can wake up in the morning with purpose and with passion, and to make a difference in this world?

“So, if you’re struggling on the inside with restlessness, fear, guilt, shame and there’s something that is missing, you can find the key to unlock the very thing God wants to do in your life,” he said. “It is just an amazing journey together with the Holy Spirit, to be able to bring glory to the Father, who is in the midst of all of this chaos. Instead of sin management, it is time to do glory management.”

Why Holy Spirit Serves as Your Personal Trainer for Freedom

True freedom is found in one place—Jesus Christ.

“Therefore, if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things have passed away. Look, all things have become new” (2 Cor. 5:17).

Is this it? Yes, and no. I wanted a new life. Being saved is more than a prayer. It includes having a circumcised heart, becoming new, bearing fruit and living by faith.

“But he is a Jew who is one inwardly. And circumcision is of the heart, by the Spirit, and not by the letter. His praise is not from men, but from God” (Rom. 2:29).

“That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit” (John 3:6-8).

Read it. So is everyone born of the Spirit? When you gave your life to Christ, did anyone mention the Spirit to you? Probably not. But I am sure they told you, you were now a Christian. Right? I am not saying you’re not. That’s not my call. But please make sure you are! I was reborn. I was born again.

Do you want to talk about how to stop addiction in its tracks? When you signed your salvation pledge card, did anyone mention that you are a new person? Or that you were born by the Spirit just like you were born as a child?

No. Not. Rarely. Addiction steals our life. We must know that we are saved and have the fruits of being a new creation in Christ Jesus.

Watchman Nee said, “We have the Holy Spirit within as life and without as power and gift. If we are truly filled with the Holy Spirit within, we have the riches of the life of the Lord. If we do not have the riches of the spiritual life, this proves that although we have the Holy Spirit dwelling within us, we are not filled with Him. In the same way, if we have the Holy Spirit upon us, we have power and a certain kind of gift. We cannot say that we have the Holy Spirit upon us if we are not powerful and are unable to do anything. We must have power and gift.”

Let’s see what Jesus says:

“I indeed baptize you with water to repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire” (Matt.3:11).

The Holy Spirit is the power of God. The Holy Spirit is the power source of the believer. God gives us power. And every addict certainly needs the power to overcome the strongholds of addiction.

When the Holy Spirit comes on the believer, He fills us. It is called a baptism.

“Being assembled with them, He commanded them, ‘Do not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, of which you have heard from Me. For John baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now'” (Acts 1:4-5).

The essence of being baptized with the Holy Spirit is when a person who is already a believer, receives power to exalt Christ and to be a witness, just as the Scripture says.

And there’s more.

Being assembled with them, He commanded them, “Do not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, of which you have heard from Me. For John baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” So when they had come together, they asked Him, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” He said to them, “It is not for you to know the times or the dates, which the Father has fixed by His own authority. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1: 4-8).

Let’s notice the language: “when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you shall be” (Acts 1:8a)

Look deeper. The Holy Spirit empowers us in new ways. One new way we receive this empowerment is through praying. The Holy Spirit will pray through us.

“Likewise, the Spirit helps us in our weaknesses, for we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words” (Rom. 8:26).

Jesus said:

“But now I am going to Him who sent Me, and none of you asks Me, ‘Where are You going?’ Rather, sorrow has filled your heart because I have told you these things. Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is expedient for you that I go away. For if I do not go away, the Counselor will not come to you. But if I go, I will send Him to you” (John 16:5-7).

If Jesus sent the Holy Spirit, we should receive Him. Right? Well, the Holy Spirit is here. And He is our helper. Genuine Christ followers have a relationship with the Holy Spirit. As Christians, we experience daily changes through the Holy Spirit’s leading.

The Holy Spirit is our personal trainer and leads us to become more like Christ.

“But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you everything and remind you of all that I told you” (John 14:26).

The born again Christian has received the Spirit of Christ, who is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is our teacher and reminds us all things that Christ taught and spoke. There were times in my addiction I did not know how to pray.

“But you, beloved, build yourselves up in your most holy faith. Pray in the Holy Spirit” (Jude 20).

The Holy Spirit gave me impressions and led me to the words I needed. Prayers lead to faith and faith leads to victory. Learning how to pray with the Spirt and in the Spirit was like stoking an internal fire. The Holy Spirit is supernatural and builds up the believers.

Every person needs the Holy Spirit and His help. {eoa}

How Marilyn Hickey Influenced This Woman’s Impactful National Ministry

As a young believer, Gina Prince says she had a variety of “amazing” preachers from which to glean. But, she says, there was just something that simply drew her to the ministry of Marilyn Hickey.

But it wasn’t until Hickey appeared to Prince in a dream and handed her a huge Bible that Prince developed a divine connection with the longtime Spirit-filled preacher. And it was from Hickey that Prince learned the most important principles of the kingdom and of ministry, which has led her to become a deliverance minister and a staunch defender of the gospel of Christ.

She travels the nation taking the Good News of Jesus to the masses, and she tells people how to ward off the advances of Satan in her podcast, The Keys Against the Enemy. And, Prince says, she owes a lot of kingdom knowledge and enthusiasm for Christ to Hickey.

“The cross, salvation. She [Hickey] has always stuck with Jesus,” Prince told Dr. Steve Greene on a recent episode of Greenelines on the Charisma Podcast Network. “Any time I’ve heard her speak, it’s so simple. It’s just always Jesus, and it’s always around salvation and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

“With my show, it’s the Word of God,” Prince said. “The Lord taught me about the Word and prayer. Those are the first two major keys [against the enemy]. When I first said 18 years ago, ‘I’ve got to get serious about it,’ I said, ‘I’ve got to serve God with everything I have,’ and I didn’t have a lot.

“But He started me on the Word, and He introduced me to the power of prayer,” she added. “The biggest thing was that He taught me to go by the Word. I learned what He felt about things. I learned about what was my foundation. I learned about what His voice sounds like. So, whenever I would hear something, I would relate it to the Word of God. And that gave me the discernment and the ability to pray. Because now I’m praying God’s will. So, learning His will to the Word of God, you’re able to pray the Word of God. And that is so powerful.”

The Often Misunderstood Distinction Between Israel and the Church

The disciples sat under Jesus’ teaching for some three years. In addition, Acts 1:4 tells us that after His resurrection, He spent another 40 days on earth teaching them about the kingdom of God.

Two verses later when Jesus is about to depart from them and ascend into heaven, what was the burning question on the disciples’ minds? “Are you now going to restore the kingdom to Israel?” (Acts 1:6).

To many Christians today, this question sounds totally out of left field. How could they have spent all of that time with Jesus and ask such a question? “Surely,” you might be thinking, “Jesus rebuked them for not understanding that the kingdom of God is spiritual and not of this world!” Wrong!

Jesus simply responded that the timing of the restoration of the kingdom to Israel was not for them to know. Then he proceeded to commission them as the church to receive the power of the Holy Spirit and witness for Him to the end of the earth.

In this verse, the calling of Israel is right next to the calling of the church. Join me this week on the Out of Zion podcast titled “The People of the Bible,” and we will discuss this often misunderstood distinction between Israel and the church. Come to appreciate the amazing plan of God that is being outworked in the earth today and the part that you have to play! {eoa}

Messianic Rabbi: The Gospel According to Wine

This week I’ve been debating with a friend about the virtues of iced tea.

Our conversation shifted for a few moments to the book of John chapter 2, which shares the narrative of Yeshua (Jesus) turning water into wine, which happens to be one of my favorite passages. For many years, I wondered why this event was even included in the Bible. After all, John 21:25 tells us:

“There are also many other things which Jesus did. Were every one of them to be written, I suppose that not even the world itself could contain the books that would be written. Amen.”

Knowing there were so many things Yeshua did not included in the Bible would cause us to conclude that if this narrative is included, then it must have tremendous importance. At first glance, this miracle seems so insignificant when compared to giving sight to the blind, giving hearing to the deaf, causing the lame to walk or raising the dead.

Of all of the miracles that could have been His first miracle, Yeshua chose to turn water into wine. Why? When we read the last verse of the narrative, we can find the answer to our question.

In John 2:11, we see: “This, the first of His signs, Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and He revealed His glory, and His disciples believed in Him.”

In this miracle, Yeshua revealed His glory. How is Yeshua’s glory revealed in turning water into wine?

First of all, turning water into wine was not simply adding flavor to water the way we do today, nor was it like adding sugar to iced tea to make it sweeter. This was a re-creative miracle. Yeshua took something and transformed it into something that it wasn’t. He also didn’t turn the water into cheap wine; He made it into the best wine.

Yeshua’s first miracle of turning water into wine was actually a greater miracle than the blind seeing, the deaf hearing, the lame walking or even raising the dead. Each of those miracles were restorative miracles. Turning water into wine was not simply restoring what was; it was creating something totally new from what existed.

In other words, in Yeshua’s first miracle, He revealed His glory and shared the Good News—that He came not to restore, but to renew. This is why in Mark 2:22 we read:

“And no one pours new wine into old wineskins, or else the new wine bursts the wineskins, and the wine is spilled, and the wineskins will be marred. But new wine must be poured into new wineskins.”

Like the water turned into wine, when we are recreated, we become totally new. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says:

“Therefore, if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things have passed away. Look, all things have become new.”

So we see Yeshua didn’t just save the reputation of the bride’s father from the embarrassment that day in Cana; He actually revealed the gospel according to wine, because the gospel according to wine revealed His glory and the Good News of His recreative power. {eoa}

How to Know When God Calls You to a Higher Assignment

Brent Wale has spent the first 20 years of his ministry as a youth pastor, and he has reveled in it. There is nothing he enjoyed more than his passion of teaching young people how to live out the gospel and bring it to others.

But then, much to his surprise, he discovered God has something different in mind for him. God spoke to his heart and told him that one day he would become the senior pastor of a church. He’s not sure when and where that will happen, but as the youth pastor of Resurrection Life Ministry in Picayune, Mississippi, Wale is preparing himself to take on a higher level of responsibility in the kingdom.

In the meantime, he hopes to help others who know God has called them into ministry but who have yet to find their footing. It’s yet another assignment to which God has called Wale.

“I don’t think this game is good for anybody but someone who is specifically called to it,” Wale told Dr. Steve Greene on a recent episode of Greenelines on the Charisma Podcast Network. “When the Holy Spirit speaks into your life, He puts a gifting skill set in you, and that will be proven by the fruit of what you do.

“You will get past a moment in ministry where it’s exhausting, where it is has challenged everything in you, and where there is no other motivation to do this except for the fact that God has called you to it,” Wale said. “That’s good. When you get past that, there are some really great places where you’re not motivated for yourself. You’re just simply trying to do it because it pleases the Father.

“Why I feel called is because I know for a fact that God has spoken to me to do it,” Wale said. I’ve seen in my life the fruit of that where I’ve been able to relinquish control, follow Him and pursue His way. He’s blessed what I’ve done and blessed the church. I just feel honored to be able to pastor and to continue to grow.”

Prophecy: 7 Prophetic Words for November and Beyond

Saints of God, I want to prophesy to you right now.

This is what the Lord has spoken to me for you today—and for the rest of this month of Nov. 2020 and going into the new year:

  1. You are about to be marked by God. You are in a season and time you have never been in before. A divine impartation is coming into your life right now: into your personal situations, into your ministry, into your family and into your purpose—an impartation that will yield fruit. I heard the Lord say to watch for an impartation that will yield fruit for generations to come.
  2. You are about to release a new sound. A specific sound is about to come out of you—a sound that is actually going to be a roar. And when you roar, it will alert the gates of hell that you are coming.
  3. You are about to take territory in the spiritual realm you thought was only for “the spiritually elite” to take. The Spirit of God says, “I have reserved this special, supernatural impartation for you because you have come in faith, and I am a rewarder of those who diligently seek Me. I am the rewarder of those who go after Me. Open up your heart and mind and spirit to receive a power that I have reserved for My special servants for this special hour.”
  4. God says, “You’re going to be a testimony this year.” I heard the Lord say, “Get ready, because you’re going to be a testimony.” You’re going to have a testimony specifically about what God has done and is doing this year—and, more importantly, about what He is going to do.
  5. God is calling out prophets publicly to begin rooting out, pulling down, building and planting. Jeremiah 1:4-5 says, “Now the word of the Lord came to me, saying, ‘Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; and before you were born I sanctified you; and I ordained you a prophet to the nations.'”

I believe God is setting apart a remnant at this point, time, season and hour. He is setting aside prophets, and He is appointing you to stand up against nations and kingdoms. The Lord is calling some of you to root out, tear down, destroy and overthrow evil, but He is setting others of you apart to build up and to plant.

As it says in Jeremiah 1:7-10:

“But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am a youth.’ For you shall go everywhere that I send you, and whatever I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of their faces. For I am with you to deliver you,” says the Lord. Then the Lord put forth His hand and touched my mouth. And the Lord said to me, “Now, I have put My words in your mouth. See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out and to pull down, to destroy and to throw down, to build and to plant.”

This is the decade of the mouth. And this Hebrew year, 5781, God is watching what you are saying.

The Lord says, “I am watching. I am watching. And I will certainly perform My Word.” God says, “I’m ready. I’m ready to perform My words. I am ready to pour out My Spirit upon all flesh. Your sons and daughters are going to prophesy. Your old men are going to dream dreams. I am ready to pour out My Spirit. I am ready to pour out My anointing. I am ready to restore to you the years the cankerworm has eaten. Why? Because I appointed you even while you were in your mother’s womb; I appointed you a prophet to the nations. I am ready to perform My Word.”

  1. The Lord is touching your mouth. Right now, God is touching your mouth. Before the next few days are out, you are going to have a word from the Lord. You will have a word in your mouth about everything that you’ve been believing for; about everything you’ve been asking for. God says, “I’m going to set My Word in your mouth, and you’re going to speak it.”
  2. You must speak your word from the Lord loudly in this hour. When God gives you your word, you have to speak it out. You’re either in this thing to win it, or you’re in this thing to sit on the sideline and say, “What’s God going to do?” No; don’t be like one of those people. You get God’s Word in your mouth and speak it out. You get into it. You say:

“Let’s go forth. Let’s just go in faith. Let’s go out, even if like Abraham we don’t know where we’re going. We’re just marching; we’re marching toward Zion—and whatever comes against us may come at us on one side, and ten thousand may come at us on the other side; but it will not come near us; it will not stop us; we will not quit! Hallelujah!”

God is watching what you say. If you’re not saying it, you won’t see it. And if you’re not seeing it, it’s because you’re not saying what God is saying.

God is going to watch what you say in the next 12 months.

He’s watching your mouth. He’s watching to see what you will say, what you will confess. And if you will align yourself with His Word, then the Lord says, “I will certainly carry out all My plans, for I am with you!”

God says, “Do not be afraid of their faces. Why? Because I am with you. Come on; do not be afraid of what you’re looking at, because I am with you. Do not be afraid of what you might be facing—because I am with you. Do not be afraid of what they may say to you—because I am with you. Do not be afraid of what they may say you’ve got to do. No matter what, you stand flat-footed and say, ‘I believe the word of the Lord. I believe God’s Word is my final authority. Men are not my final authority; government is not my final authority. I believe the Word of the Lord!'” {eoa}

Jonathan Cahn Reveals the Mystery of the Parasha

In 2012, Jonathan Cahn released his first blockbuster bestseller The Harbinger, which revealed an ancient mystery from the Bible that holds the secret to America’s future.

And now, eight years later, comes the stunning long-awaited sequel, The Harbinger II: The Return, which reveals the mystery which began with 9/11 has not stopped, but has continued unfolding on America soil. That which The Harbinger foretold has come to pass and the ancient harbingers that warn of coming judgment have continued to manifest.

In a recent interview on The Jim Bakker Show, Cahn said that one of the mysteries unfolded in The Harbinger II involves a dramatic word from the Bible that actually foreshadowed the calamity of 9/11.

The Parasha

“This is a mystery that goes back to ancient times,” said Cahn. “When Jesus went to the synagogue and opened the scrolls, it was an appointed word. Well, there’s been appointed words for the Jewish people for ages. Every Sabbath the Jewish people open up their scrolls, and there is an appointed word for that week—it’s called the parasha.

“The week of 9/11 was there was an appointed word from God of significant, prophetic impact,” Cahn continued. “The word is called ki tavo, and it was read just three days before 9/11. It comes from Deuteronomy 28 and it’s the last words of Moses to the nation of Israel. He warns them of what would happen if they turn away from God.

“First the word says that if you follow God, He is going to make you the most blessed nation in the world—He is going to bless you in your homes, in your fields and in your city. You’re going to have prosperity and be kept safe from your enemies. You will lend to many nations and you will not borrow. You’ll rise above your enemy.

“All those things happened to America,” said Cahn. “America became the most prosperous and powerful nation, the nation that lent to many nations and didn’t borrow, the nation that had victory after victory and was kept safe.

“But the scripture—the ki tavo—doesn’t stop there. Moses went on to tell Israel if you turn away, then all the blessings that God gave you are going to be removed, one after another.”

Signs of Judgment

Citing the words of ki tavo word from Deuteronomy, Cahn outlined which blessings would begin to be removed from a nation that turned away from God.

“First of all, it says that while you lent to many nations, now you’re going to borrow,” said Cahn. “And amazingly, in the late 20th century, America went from being the greatest creditor nation to being the greatest debtor nation. That’s a sign of a nation turning from blessing to judgment.

“Secondly,” Cahn continued, “it says you’re not going to win your wars; your enemies are going to win. And we saw America losing its first big major war, in Vietnam. It says cursed shall you be in the field and in the city. On 9/11 we saw a curse come to the city, and we saw one of the planes crash in a field as well.

“It says that an enemy will come from far away and attack your gate. This 28th chapter of Deuteronomy speaks not once but four times of the enemy attacking or causing distress at the gate. But verse 52 also mentions something else:

‘They shall besiege you at all your gates until your high and fortified walls, in which you trust, come down.’

“America’s gate is New York City, and its wall, its defense, is the Pentagon. The Pentagon is built after the pattern of a fortress with fortified walls. So on 9/11, the enemy attacked first the gate and then the wall, the towers of New York City and then the Pentagon of Washington, DC.

“And all that was in the appointed word that was recited all over New York City just before 9/11!”

The Mystery of Inversion

Cahn continued to lay out the parallels of the biblical pattern. “The word goes on to say that when the enemy comes in, the sky over you will be bronze or copper, the earth below you will be iron. On 9/11 there was a cloud above the ruins of Ground Zero that was there for a long time, and they found copper was in the cloud. On the ground underneath, the ruins of the buildings were made of steel, which is an ally of iron. So we saw copper above and iron, or steel, below.

“The appointed word goes on to say you will go about in broad daylight like someone who’s blind, you will not be able to see. That’s exactly what happened on 9/11. The cloud came over Lower Manhattan and they literally couldn’t see.

“It says that the Lord will cause you to be defeated by your enemies; you shall go out against them one way, and you will flee from them seven ways. That happened on 9/11. We saw images of people literally fleeing in all directions. That scripture says you’ll go out one way and flee seven ways, the ratio is one to seven, the biblical ratio of judgment. The first plane was flight 11, and the plane that struck the Pentagon was flight 77—the one to seven ratio; 11 to 77; specifically talking about your enemy.”

Cahn continued, “It says there will come a people whose language you will not understand; a people of fierce countenance who will not respect the old or the young or show mercy; they’re going to be a brutal people and they will proceed you and your gates. Well, that described the terrorists.”

“It’s all there,” says Cahn. “Moses warning a nation that turning away from God would be the beginning of judgment. Notice the pattern of this prophecy in Deuteronomy 28: at the beginning it talks about how you’ll be blessed. But then at the second part, everything that was blessed is now a curse because of turning away. The second part of the prophecy is the inverse of the first. The judgments at the end are the opposites, the inversions of the blessings at the beginning. The mystery of inversion and juxtaposition. The two things are joined together.

“And so, the mystery of why it happened on 9/11 goes all the way back to the words of Moses, to this passage in Deuteronomy 28.”

Cahn says America can still turn back to God, but time may be running out. “The time is critical,” he says. “If we don’t respond and rise up to the call of God to return, we may pass the point of no return. America hangs in the balance between life and death, revival or calamity.” {eoa}

Prophecy: History Will Repeat Itself in France

I heard the Lord say, “History will repeat itself in France.”

These words come in the wake of an uproar in the European nation and several murders, including a beheading of a middle school teacher in a Paris suburb, a knife attack on three people at a Nice church that left three dead.

France’s President Emmanuel Macron calls the incidents “Islamist terrorist attacks.” Last Thursday, Macron announced he was more than doubling the number of soldiers deployed in the country to protect against attacks, sending 7,000 to guard schools and religious sites, according to USA Today.

The attacks are connected to a French satirical newspaper named Charlie Hebdo and its cartoons of Islam’s founder Muhammed. The beheaded teacher had shown the offensive cartoon to students. Five years ago, Charlie Hebdo was firebombed in an attack that killed six staff members, but the newspaper is intent on sharing its ideals about the Islamic extremism.

The Prophesied Rise of Islamic Violence

On New Year’s Eve 2019, I prophesied into 2020: “Radical Islamists will push for power through violence, which is nothing new, but more horrifying violence is planned.” We are seeing this horrifying violence play out in France right now, at least the first fruits of it.

To combat this quest for extremist power, Macron launched a campaign against political Islam and what he calls Islamist “separatism” in some French cities, according to the Financial Times.

“The republic must keep its promises; we must fight against discrimination; we must put meritocracy everywhere,” he said. “But on the other side we must fight against separatism, because when the republic does not keep its promises, others try to replace it.”

Islamic separatism, as he sees it, works to form a counter-society in France. A counter society is one that reject or oppose the dominant values and behavior of mainstream society. This is troubling as France has the largest population of Muslims in Western Europe.

Amid concerns from Muslims that France is trying to control its their faith, Macron’s campaign includes restrictions on imams being sent to France from abroad, monitoring organizations that could be a front for extreme Islamist teaching and more oversight into foreign financing of mosques.

What Kind of History Will Repeat Itself?

It is against this backdrop that I heard the Lord say, “History will repeat itself in France.” So the question is, which history will repeat itself? What does God want? {eoa}

Michael Brown Says It’s High Time for Radical Revolution in America

Dr. Michael Brown believes the time has come for major revolution in America.

No, the syndicated columnist and host of The Line of Fire podcast isn’t suggesting the violent overthrow of the government, nor that we take up arms or move into political activism. It’s a call to something far more extreme.

For Brown, revolution means a call to live out the gospel with all its radical claims, a call for the people of God to impact this generation with the prophetic message of repentance. It is a call to spark the most sweeping counterculture movement in our nation’s history—to take back the moral ground that has been stolen from underneath our feet. It’s a call to follow Jesus by life or death.

It is action Brown details in his new book, Revolution: A Call to Holy War.

“So, revolution speaks that radical, dramatic sweeping change. Revolution speaks of out with the old and in within the new,” Brown told Dr. Steve Greene on a recent episode of Greenelines on the Charisma Podcast Network. “Revolution speaks of overthrowing the status quo. And when you think of the ministry of Jesus, you realize in many ways, he came to the earth to launch God’s revolution; he preached on the kingdom of God.

“He spoke of God’s kingdom coming,” Brown said. “He told us to pray radical prayers like, ‘Your kingdom come, Your will be done,’ which means that the ousting of the earthly system in the world. The revolutionary thinks that life as it is, it’s not worth living, but the causes are worth dying for.

“Jesus says, ‘Leave everything and follow Me,” Brown said. ” ‘If you find your life, you lose it. If you lose your life for My sake and the gospel, you find it.’ Those are profound truths right there. And the Great Commission, in many ways, can be taken as a revolutionary commission. It’s basically, ‘let’s go change the world together.’

“But the difference is that our revolution is not violent. It’s not angry. It’s not hateful. Our revolution is not moved by earthly, fleshly motivation. It doesn’t shed blood; rather, our revolution is overcoming evil with good, overcoming hate with love. It’s overcoming lies with truth. Once we understand ourselves as part of a revolutionary movement, it kind of demolishes the church-as-usual, Sunday-morning and spectator-Christianity-type mentality.”
