Protect Holy Spirit’s Temple From Stress With These Steps

Overwhelming stress is a dangerous health issue that most people worldwide deal with every day. And with the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic this past year, the level of stress in the daily lives of those people has been taken to a much higher level, bringing in a fear factor and making them adjust to unexpected lifestyle changes.

But naturopathic doctor Mark Sherwood, who hosts Healthcare’s Missing Link podcast, wants everyone to know that you can create an environment to help you deal with stress effectively and even take steps to deplete the stress on your body—the temple of the Holy Spirit.

But, Sherwood says, it’s something you have be cognizant of and be intentional to work at. You can’t just take a pill and make it go away.

“We need to start with defining stress,” Sherwood told Dr. Steve Greene on a recent episode of Greenelines on the Charisma Podcast Network. “It’s not a noun; it’s actually a verb. Stress is an action we take in response to life’s unexpected occurrences or events.

“Step No. 2 is that you’ve got to learn to get adequate sleep. The only way to get that pendulum of chronic hyperstress down is to force the relaxation side, and that may primarily be sleep. We must target seven, eight hours a night no matter what our age or occupation.

“Step three is that you’ve got to, during the course of the day, go for a walk. Get out, get some sunshine. … People feel better when they take a walk.

“And No. 4 is super important. You’ve got to purge anything from your diet that is not real food and, frankly, is poisonous. Do those four things, and you will make incredible headway into the management of stress.”

What Some Prophets Are Saying for 2021

At the beginning of every year, Elizabeth Tiam Fook of International Young Prophets hosts a number of prophets on social media to share what God is saying for the year. This broadcast was deep and profound with the level of revelation that I paraphrase portions of in this article, but I want to encourage you to watch it for yourself and share it with your friends.

Bob Hazlett of Ascend Ministries said, “God is giving us new airwaves to communicate through. … I believe prophecy is not just predictive, but prophecy is also perspective, and it is provocative.” He continued saying, “2021 is going to be a year where east meets west. The East will begin to have influence on the West. Some people may see some of it as a negative, but I want to give you a positive. It is a time for the rising of the eastern church. There is going to be a rekindling of the Holy Spirit into the Eastern Orthodox Church, a visitation of the Holy Spirit in the Eastern Orthodox Church.” Bob also said there will be a rise of a prayer movement from the mistakes of the prophetic movement in order to move the church toward maturity.

Jamie Galloway prophesied, “We need to be on guard and aware that the enemy is going after businesses. So we need to pray and declare over our businesses the shelter of God’s presence, according to Psalm 91:1. I believe that Psalm 91 is the word for this year. We need to begin to draw near to God in this hour, and there will be a protection for those who dwell in Him. There will be issues of dialing 9-1-1 this year. … We are drawing close to the 20th anniversary of 9/11. Remember that everything changed post 9/11, and this year is going to be like a 9/11 moment. So we need to learn to call on the Lord in Psalm 91.”

Jane Hamon of Vision Church at Christian International said, “2020 began a reset season, and all the prophets were echoing that—an end of one cycle and launching into a brand new season. God is resetting His church and the way we do things. … This is going to be a year where we will learn to cooperate with heaven and dance the dance of the Mahanaim, to connect heaven and earth. … In the Bible, the number 21 is connected to ‘covenant’ and ‘contending.’ God is still a covenant God who keeps His covenant from generation to generation. … And God is bringing His prophets to a new place of intimacy with the Lord.”

James Goll said, “On Jan. 5, 2021, I woke up hearing myself prophesy in my bedroom. I was prophesying this: The Spirit of conviction will be released once again upon the body of Christ and across the land. The Spirit of burning shall come to expose corruption.” James said he realized he wasn’t asleep but awake, making this declaration three times.

James said that on the following day, he had a dream where he found himself preaching in an outdoor setting which reminded him of the revivals from the Great Awakening. He found himself preaching in the dream on Jan. 6, “His throne is established in righteousness, and preachers of righteousness must arise in this hour who will confront the moral decay in the church. The pointing of the finger of blame and shame at society first must be put away. These preachers of righteousness will restore the ancient foundation in My house.”

The Significance of Jesus’ Ascension From the Mount of Olives

A standard stop for any Christian tour group in Jerusalem is the Mount of Olives. Because it is higher than the Temple Mount, it provides a spectacular view of the platform where the temple used to stand, as well as all of Jerusalem.

The view is absolutely breathtaking and fills one with awe.

The Mount of Olives is so named because it used to be covered with olive groves. The name Gethsemane is derived from the original Hebrew for “olive press,” and it was at one of the olive presses there, probably placed inside a cave, where Jesus went to pray three times the night of his arrest.

The Scriptures provide deep significance for Jesus’ last days spent on the Mount of Olives, as well as his ascension from there. King David wept there, as did Jesus. The prophet Ezekiel described scenes of the glory of God ascending from there, and the prophet Zechariah envisioned the Lord coming there at the end of days.

This holy hill, therefore, carries great significance within Judaism. It is expected that when the Messiah comes, the resurrection of the dead will begin there. So, it has been a popular burial place for over 3,000 years, and there are over 150,000 gravesites there today.

Join me for this week’s Out of Zion podcast entitled Jesus’ Resurrection and Return when I wrap up the 3D Jesus series by explaining the significance of Jesus’ ascension from the Mount of Olives. We will also talk about the resurrection of Jesus and where His empty tomb is today. Listen in for answers and what all this means for you! {eoa}

John Eckhardt: When You Show Up, Heaven Shows Up

Sometimes we don’t realize who we are until the Spirit of God shows us in Scripture. The Bible says of us:

“Their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world” (Ps. 19:4, ESV).

The revelation the apostle Paul had concerning this verse—that it refers to the gospel being preached—is to let you know you’re not just anybody. Let me say it this way: When you speak by the Spirit of God, heaven is speaking. Heaven is declaring. Heaven is uttering its voice. Heaven is decreeing. And because heaven rules over all, as we see in Psalm 103:19, then we, as the people of God, walk in authority.

Psalm 103:19 declares: “The Lord has established His throne in heaven, and His kingdom rules over all” (NKJV). In the natural, the heavens rule over the earth. But spiritually, we are the heavens that rule over the earth. It’s time for the people of God to realize we are sitting in heavenly places in Christ. We are the heavens God spoke of, and it is time for heaven’s voice to be heard on the earth. There’s been enough of listening to earth’s voice. It is time for heaven’s voice to be heard, and we are—you are—heaven’s voice.

Speak as God Speaks Through You

When you open your mouth by the Spirit of God, it is not you speaking; it is God. Wherever you go, you need to bring heaven. No matter how much hell the enemy has tried to bring in, when you open your mouth, heaven comes. When you open your mouth by the Spirit of God, the sick get healed, demons come out, miracles happen, and finances are released. When heaven gets involved, no matter how messed up a situation is, things begin to turn around.

The anointing of heaven breaks every yoke. It breaks every barrier. People need that word from heaven. When you open your mouth and stop complaining and begin to prophesy, heaven shows up. Stop talking about how bad it is and begin to open your mouth and declare the word of the Lord.

Know that when you step into someone’s life, heaven shows up. You bring the glory and power of God. You bring heaven’s authority. When you as a child of God show up on the scene, heaven shows up. We read in the Bible that the heavens rule over everything. What that says to me is that no matter how many demons are in a place, when you show up, they have to go.

Have you ever heard somebody say, “My life is a living hell”? Do not agree with that kind of thinking! Declare that you are the heavens and that when you show up, heaven shows up. Sometimes in our desire to empathize and show compassion, we downplay the power that is living inside us. Refuse to let demons of hell run your life. Declare glory, prosperity, anointing, healing, power, joy, salvation, praise, worship, dancing, celebrating, the presence of God, and the Word of God over your life. These are the things of heaven. These are the things that should follow you everywhere you go.

Know Who You Are

It is so important that you get this because the devil will make you think you are just another person down here trying to make it. You aren’t. The kingdom of God, which is heaven, resides in you. The problems we experience so often boil down to the fact that we don’t know our identity in Christ. We don’t know who we are. We don’t know what happens when we open our mouths. We don’t know what happens when we begin to sing about the anointing of God. We don’t understand what’s happening when we prophesy. We can get so used to these spiritual activities that we just take them for granted, and we forget the power we have in our voices.

The devil uses our ignorance and tries to put a muzzle on our mouths. He tries to make us think we can’t say anything, or if we do, it won’t make a difference. But I pray that if you come close to shutting up, you’ll feel like Jeremiah, as if there is fire shut up in your bones.

If I say, “I will not mention his word or speak anymore in his name,” his word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones. I am weary of holding it in; indeed, I cannot” (Jer. 20:9, NIV).

Every person or circumstance that the enemy used to tell you to sit down and not say anything must not have known that you can’t shut up heaven. Those devices of the enemy that tried to limit your voice by communicating that your voice is not important, that you can’t go far, that you are just limited to preaching a small sermon to a small group of people do not know the power of heaven in your voice.

Remember that if you have a mobile phone or other electronic device, you have a platform. You have access to your own “TV program” via Facebook Live, Instagram Live, YouTube, Periscope and other types of social media. There is no reason for you to remain silent when God has put a word in your mouth! {eoa}

Messianic Rabbi: Why Jews Don’t Want to Be ‘Saved’

It was so cold in Millington, Tennessee, that the radiator of my 1968 Camaro froze solid, and I had to shut off the motor so that the engine would not be damaged. The snow was heavy, and I didn’t want to sit in my car while waiting for the engine heat to unfreeze my radiator, so that I could drain the water out and replace it with antifreeze.

I stepped out of my car and, as if it was a sign from G-D, I saw the neon lights which read “free coffee and doughnuts.” I opened the door and walked into the storefront. As I shook the snow from my boots and looked around inside, I saw a few tables surrounded by folding chairs and a “living room” set of easy chairs and a couch arranged around a coffee table and could smell the coffee.

The only people inside the place were a few other sailors playing cards and the husband and wife team that ran the place. The couple waved me in and invited me to fill up a cup of coffee. We made small talk about my car for a few minutes, and then it happened.

They asked me a question that afternoon that I heard for the first time in my life. They looked me deep in the eyes and said, “Are you saved?” I am sure that my reaction shocked them a little—not because I was rude or aggressive in my response. It was because I had no reference point for such a question.

At first, I misunderstood the question and thought they were asking “are you safe,” in reference to my car overheating. When I answered that I was fine but the car would need some time before I could start it again, they repeated the question: “Are you saved?”

This time I was certain what they were asking but also totally confused about what they were asking. I asked them back with a strange curiosity brought about by watching too many science fiction movies, “Saved from what?”

That was when I realized that under the neon lights saying “free coffee and doughnuts” was a smaller sign saying “Christian Servicemen’s Center,” which had been obscured by the snow on the outside of the window but was very clear and visible from the inside of the center. I quickly thanked them for the coffee and made my way awkwardly out of the building in search of the nearest auto repair shop or parts store.

As I look back at that day, I know that those people were doing everything they knew to fulfill the Great Commission, and I appreciate the love they showed to me and respect their efforts to share Messiah with the servicemen stationed in their community. I also remember the expressions on their faces as I nearly ran from their building with the speed of someone trying to escape from an alien abduction. Everything they said to me was foreign or alien to me as a young Jewish man—not only the Jesus they were teaching, but also the very idea of being saved.

You see, being saved or lost is not a concept that Jewish people relate to or even understand. Jewish people relate to covenants. They understand being in covenant or outside of covenant. They understand being within Israel or outside of Israel. Jewish people understand repentance or returning to covenant. Jewish people understand restoration of covenant. But Jewish people do not understand the concept of saved and lost.

In Judaism, we think in terms of living within the eternal covenants of G-D. These covenants were made with Adam, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, David and others. Each of these covenants were made by G-D with His people, and every one of them is eternal. We live either inside of the covenant or outside of the covenant. We either live in His righteousness (never our righteousness, because it is based upon His covenant, not our works) or outside of His righteousness.

We are not lost, waiting to be saved. We are inside or outside of an already provided covenant complete from before the foundation of the world. Jewish people like myself may not recognize Yeshua as the Messiah, but they understand the concept of Messiah.

So, that day, when I heard those words for the very first time, I didn’t run because I rejected Messiah; I ran because I rejected the concept of being lost versus found. I was never lost; I had simply not yet understood my need for the wholeness, healing and restoration provided through the fulfilment of G-D’s covenant.

It is vital to understand that everyone who comes to a faith-understanding of the redemptive work of Yeshua, whether Jewish or non-Jewish, enters into the same covenant relationship. They are either natural branches or wild branches grafted into the same olive tree of Israel. Paul said Gentile believers become a part of the commonwealth of Israel, as we read in Ephesians 2:12 (TLV):

“At that time you were separate from Messiah, excluded from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.”

By the way, when you have a chance to look up the Greek word translated “saved,” it is also translated “restored,” “healed,” “renewed” or “made whole,” all words which fit perfectly into the concept of a covenant relationship.

In closing, have you ever wondered how people’s names were blotted out of G-D’s book if they were not “saved” yet? That is a question for another blog another day. {eoa}

This Prophetic Word Will Open Your Eyes

I heard the Lord say, “Don’t blink!”

That’s a word for us all in this season. I prayed through this prophetic utterance on my Mornings with the Holy Spirit broadcast, which you can find here.

Let me break this down for you, though.

Blink means to look with half-shut eyes. Blink means to look with too little concern. Blink means to deny recognition. Don’t blink!

Things are going to happen in this season in the blink of an eye—in an instant. We’re in the midst of suddenly moments—a season of unprecedented opportunities. Don’t blink!

If you blink, you could miss your kairos moment. If you blink, you could miss the open door standing before you. If you blink, you could miss seeing what God is doing. Don’t blink!

Moses Didn’t Blink

If Moses had blinked, he would have missed the burning bush. It was only when he stopped to look that God spoke to him. I want you to see this in Exodus 3:1-4:

Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the desert and came to the mountain of God, to Horeb. The angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush, and he looked, and the bush burned with fire, but the bush was not consumed. So Moses said, “I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.”

When the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him from out of the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses.”

And he said, “Here am I.”

Catch that: Moses was calling God. Moses could have missed his calling. He didn’t blink; rather, he kept his eyes and ears wide open, and God used him to liberate a nation. Don’t blink!

The Enemy Isn’t Blinking

The enemy is on high alert. Don’t blink!

How You Can Strengthen Your Kingdom Currency

Recently I read a study that only 69% of practicing Christians pray one time a week, and yet so much is accomplished through these prayers.

Welcome to my four-episode prayer boost, Kingdom Currency, on the New Era Explorers Podcast on the Charisma Podcast Network. Your prayers are making a huge effect in heaven.

Often, we aren’t sure whether the Father is listening or maybe we aren’t praying with power. When you pray, kingdom currency is invested with the greatest care and dividend that you can ever imagine—and we’re pretty good at imagining. Join me for session one, Strengthen Your Kingdom Currency.

I find it’s easy to lose heart when it comes to prayer. There are several reasons for this. One is the simple fact that there are very few positive stories broadcast through our media. We don’t know if our prayers are being answered because we usually hear the bad news. But once you dig a little you will find there are amazing changes in our world that your prayers are affecting. In my weekly encouragement, I like to find these good news items, so you can be refreshed to press into the prayers on your heart. If you haven’t signed up for this once-a-week email go to and register to receive it.

Recently, I found an article from the Office of the U.S. Attorney. I had never been to this site before. I wanted to know if there had been any changes in human trafficking since our prayer initiative on Christmas day of 2018 when 30,000 people joined together with a 30 second prayer for the abolishment of human trafficking. I found articles on the U.S. Attorney’s website that discussed all the arrests that have brought down major trafficking rings in 2020. Did we abolish human trafficking with our 30 second prayer? No, but I believe our prayers were heard, and the Father is responding. Are we the only people who have ever prayed against human trafficking? Of course not! But our prayers added together with all the others is making an influence in our world.

Which brings me to another reason why we lose heart in prayer. We often feel alone as we pray. I don’t mean separated from the Father. We know he’s with us, but is there anyone else out there praying besides me? Am I wasting my time in prayer? Because of this feeling of separation, we stop our prayers, and we move on to something that feels tangible. Something we can see and feel in the natural world, prayers rarely feel tangible. We lose heart, and then the enemy wins. If the enemy can stop the front line attack that our prayers provide, it’s easy to wipe out truth. If you wipe out truth, all forms of foolish thinking occurs. In these days, are we experiencing the kickback from praying less?

The Barna Group did a study in 2020 and discovered there is a 10% drop in people praying once a week. 69% of practicing Christians pray once a week. That’s it. That’s over half of all practicing Christianity praying one time per week—and yet—the Father hears every word and responds to us. That’s strong.

Are you married? Do you talk with your spouse daily? Do you have a close friend who you talk with regularly? When you guys talk, is it for one minute once a week? I don’t think so. Because you receive something tangible from your conversation with your spouse or friend you talk longer. You connect on a personal level over a variety of topics, concerns or needs. This then becomes an issue with prayer. We often don’t feel the connection on that physical or emotional level with the Father. And yet, God is speaking into our spirit. We have to look inward for the heartbeat of God. We have to stop and pause if even for a moment. I find if I pause for a few seconds, He’s right there. We will take time to listen to our friends or spouse because there is a tangible voice we are hearing. It’s a physical action taking place. Prayer is no different. Dad wants us to stop and listen, just like we do with our friends, but it’s where we listen from. And with him, it starts in the inner man.

There is another matter that causes us to lose our desire for prayer. Prayer is a muscle that atrophies as easily as muscles in our body. There is an advertisement that suggests, “A body in motion tends to stay in motion. A body at rest tends to stay at rest.” If we strengthen our physical body through exercise and healthy habits, it becomes stronger. I love the scene in The Holiday. It’s a cute, sweet Christmas movie. In the movie, there’s an elderly man who uses a walker to get around, and he’s being honored by the writer’s guild in Hollywood. The catch is that he wants to walk without help—without his walker.

In order to do this, he has to regain strength. It took a little time to gain the strength he needed just to walk up the stairs. But he did it! So, can we. As the body of Christ, we can strengthen the muscle of prayer by adding into our day a one-minute prayer. Unfortunately, we have made prayer something only highly spiritual people or intercessors do. Prayer is kingdom currency, and it is priceless. As our heavenly Father listens and responds to one prayer per week from 69% of us, imagine how much more if we were to engage in a 1-minute prayer every day? Imagine how our world could be transformed.

Here’s a quick note to intercessors. This idea of a 1-minute daily prayer may seem like weakness to you, but remember, 69% of practicing Christians pray only once a week. The muscle of prayer has atrophied, and we need to build up that muscle over time. Then it can be fully engaged and activated. Be kind to those gaining strength in prayer. Be praying for the 69% to hear this message and respond. Encourage them to take this prayer boost. You are already way ahead of the game having been called as an intercessor to a much deeper level of involvement, yet even you can build the prayer muscle stronger.

In summary, I want to urge you to not lose heart. There are good things happening because of your prayers. You aren’t wasting your time. Your prayers count. Your voice counts. Prayer is the front line of releasing the kingdom on earth. We need more prayer. Let’s pour out a prayer from our heart and fill those golden bowls of incense mentioned in Revelation 5:8.

With that said, here is today’s boost. In order to build and strengthen the prayer muscle, we need to have a simple prayer to pray on a daily basis that will take approximately one minute. The question is, “What is on your heart?” This is most likely what the Father is asking you to pray back into heaven. It’s a simple strategy. You don’t need to look for something difficult or distant from your heart. You don’t have to try to discover something unique or special because there is likely something right there in your heart. The key to making this work is to set an alarm on mark your calendar. Put a note on your fridge or in your car. Tape one to your forehead if it helps. But plan one minute to stop daily and pray what’s on your heart. Stop—listen—and pray! {eoa}

Why Jesus Chose the Man With a Water Pitcher

When reading the story of Jesus’ last week in Jerusalem, there is a curious story found in Mark where He sends His disciples on ahead to prepare for their Passover meal. He specifically instructs them to go into the city of Jerusalem, where they will see a man with a water pitcher whom they should follow, and they are to ask to speak to the master of the place the man enters.

The disciples do as Jesus said, and sure enough, they see a man coming toward them with a water pitcher. But why would a man be doing a woman’s job?

Women were tasked with fetching water for the house. This man must have been of the Jewish sect that upheld celibacy.

And that one fact unlocks the entire story of the timing of Jesus’ Passover meal. Some Gospel writers say it was held on Passover, and John says it was held the day before the Passover. Then we are told that during Jesus’ trial, the chief priests could not enter the Roman praetorium because it would make them unclean for that night’s Passover. Have you ever tried to figure out these seemingly contradictory timelines?

Join me on this week’s Out of Zion podcast, Jesus’ Last Week in Jerusalem, and I will offer up a very simple explanation. I will also tell you the story of Jesus’ last week in Jerusalem in such a way that you will see the sites and hear the very sounds that He heard. The story will make so much more sense.

This podcast is part of the 3D Jesus series. {eoa}

Avoid This Dangerous Error About Dreams Circulating in the Kingdom

Is God really speaking to you in your dreams? Could the Lord Almighty be warning you of things to come while you lie on your bed at night? Is it possible the Creator of the Universe would give you innovative ideas while you sleep?

Simply stated, yes. God has spoken to people through dreams since the book of Genesis, and He is still sending messages through dreams today.

Prophets are called to do more than prophesy, but they are also to equip the saints in the prophetic (Eph. 4:11). But there is some error circulating around dreams. A friendly reminder: Not every dream comes from God.

There are three essential sources of dreams: carnal dreams (our soul or even medication we take or food we eat too late), the enemy (second heaven dreams) and God. I am a dreamer and teach extensively on dreams. I wrote this in my bestselling book, Decoding Your Dreams: What the Lord May Be Saying to You While You Sleep.

Just consider some famous dreams through history that have advanced society. God created the atom—the basic building blocks of anything and everything—but Niels Bohr, the father of quantum mechanics, discovered these tiny particles during a dream. Bohr says the revelation that laid the groundwork for the atomic model was birthed through a dream of sitting on the sun with planets “hissing around on tiny cords.”

Bohr’s dream state discovery paved the way for our understanding of chemistry and physics, which led to scientific and technological breakthroughs like lasers, night vision goggles and digital cameras.

Likewise, Albert Einstein pointed to a dream he had as a teenager that he meditated on his whole life. “He dreamt that he was riding a sled down a steep, snowy slope and, as he approached the speed of light in his dream, the colors all blended into one,” explained John W. Price in an interview on the radio show Engines of Our Ingenuity. He spent much of his career, inspired by that dream, thinking about what happens at the speed of light.”

Einstein’s Theory of Relativity helps physicists understand optics, radio waves and sets the stage for ideas like time travel. Can you imagine?
