Marilyn Hickey: Why the Bible Is the Key to a Productive Life

If you ask Marilyn Hickey what the key to her blessed life is, she’d say it’s reading the Bible, speaking the Bible and doing the Bible. Together, all three components are vital. Marilyn’s newest book, Read It, Speak It, Do It, shows that following that pattern leads to a highly productive life.

At the age of 11, Marilyn asked God, “Where are You? What church are You in? I want to go where You are.” God’s response was, “I am in the Word.” And that was the beginning of Marilyn’s living a life saturated with the Word of God.

Because God desires the Word to be the center of your life, you need to read the Bible. If you don’t know where to begin, Marilyn suggests that you start reading Psalms and Proverbs. “Psalms will warm your heart and Proverbs will warm your brain,” she says.

Do you need an answer to prayer? Marilyn says if you don’t get answers to your prayers, you might not be praying the Bible. Remember, the Word does not return void. If you have a need, identify one of the thousands of promises in the Bible that speaks to your need. Pray that promise, and speak the promise to the problem.

The Word has the power to move and change circumstances. Marilyn says, “The Bible was written for you—so put it into faith!”

Daily Bible reading is crucial to living a productive, blessed life. Marilyn says, “You need to get the Bible into your heart, and it will work in your life, in your family’s life, finances and health.”

God’s Word is seed. Read, study and meditate on the Bible. Speak Scripture over your life and walk out the Word in faith. Get hooked on the Book! {eoa}

Joyce Meyer: The One True Gospel for Eternal Life

Jesus came to give us a new way to live. In John 10:10b (AMP), He says, “I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].”

When we put our faith in Christ, trusting Him to be our Savior and forgive us of our sins, we can have the abundant life He died to give us.

The apostle Paul was passionate about teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ as much as he possibly could. When he first went to Galatia, the people there were idol worshippers, but by God’s grace, Paul was able to bring many of them to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ through preaching.

Later on, he wrote the book of Galatians to defend the gospel because it had come under attack by people seeking to draw the early Christian believers back into legalism, which is based on following rules and regulations about how everything involving our relationship with God must be done.

In Galatians 1:6-8 (NIV), Paul says, “I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel—which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse!”

Paul uses strong words to convey to the Galatians the danger of accepting or even entertaining the idea that any gospel other than the one he has preached to them has any validity at all. He knows the danger of deception and does not want the Galatians to lose their newfound freedom. In the same way, we must be firm in what we believe, and although we should not be narrow-minded and unwilling to learn new things, we also shouldn’t be so open-minded that we are ready to believe anything we hear or read.

In verse 8, Paul says, “If we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse!” Now, he isn’t actually cursing people, but by divine inspiration of the Holy Spirit, he is pronouncing that divine judgment must fall on anyone who leads others into error. The pure unadulterated message of the gospel of Jesus Christ is the only true gospel, and anything that teaches that we need Jesus plus something else will lead us in the wrong direction. Of course, we should obey God and pray, but those spiritual activities do not save us. We are saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ (see Eph. 2:8–9).

The Jews who held the belief that it was good to have Jesus as long as certain Jewish laws were also followed were called Judaizers, and Paul considered them dangerous to anyone who was not firmly and deeply rooted in the truth regarding the gospel. Paul’s missionary trip to Galatia had been one of his most successful—sinners were saved, miracles were performed, and churches were planted. And now, he could hardly believe that after what the Galatians had witnessed and experienced, they could so quickly begin falling away.

I have heard it said that the church’s greatest troublemakers (both now and then) are not those outside the church who criticize, oppose, ridicule and persecute it, but those inside who try to change or pervert the gospel—people who take sound theology and twist or distort it. They don’t totally deny it, but they add to it or take away just enough to turn it into a false doctrine without the people even realizing what is going on.

Too many people who start off right concerning their belief about salvation through Jesus end up deceived. When they first come into a personal relationship with Him, they trust that He has forgiven them of their sin because of His love for them—His grace and mercy toward them. They go along happily for a while and begin to grow in knowledge concerning Christ and the new way of living He offers. The devil hates this, so he puts someone in their midst who presents another message that includes their current beliefs but adds something to it that, if believed, will cause them to be deceived.

I want to encourage you to study God’s Word diligently and pray that you won’t be deceived by any message that does not line up with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Make a determined decision to steadfastly put your trust in what Jesus has done for you and not in good works you can do in your own strength that can never make you right with God.

That’s the only way you can have the life of righteousness, peace and joy that Jesus died to give you. {eoa}

Horrific Lie From Satan: Don’t Believe Your Prayers Are Insufficient

In the wake of the latest shooting in Uvalde, Texas, many Christian leaders have called for Christians to pray. For some, prayer has become an empty ritual that conveys a sense of apathy and detachment.

We pray and, having done so, absolve ourselves of doing more. Yet faithful prayer is not empty or passive. It is not an excuse to ignore the world’s suffering. Rather, it is a means of acknowledging that the world is broken beyond our fixing.

In suggesting that the world is broken beyond our fixing, I am not suggesting that we give in to chaos. Rather, I am suggesting that our efforts have been, are, and always will be inadequate. We can only hope to manage brokenness and obstruct evil.

Christians don’t pray because we believe prayer will magically solve the problems we face. We pray because in a world so broken that only God can fix it, we find it necessary to call upon God as we wait for Him to make right what has gone so wrong.

In addition to prayer, Christians in a democracy often vote and lobby to effect change. We do so because in certain circumstances, we have opportunities to restrain evil through policy or regulatory action. This mix of activities might suggest that Christians care about one issue more than another.

As editorial cartoonist Ann Telnaes suggests in her piece titled “Thoughts and Prayers, Again,” Christian action in relation to abortion has often involved a more active, public political posture than has Christian action over school shootings. However, abortion and school shootings can’t be dealt with in the same manner.

While abortion and school shootings both concern the sanctity of life, the role of legislation and government action are necessarily different. I imagine, for instance, that Christians would be similarly active in pressing for policy changes were school shootings to become legal.

That said, regulatory action may reduce the possibility of mass shootings; however, senseless murder is not something we can control. While stricter gun control laws might cause the number of mass shootings to diminish, we would likely continue to be faced with the problem of murder. To suggest that murder is likely to continue regardless of the technologies available to accomplish the act is not to suggest that regulatory matters regarding gun control are of no consequence.

It seems to me that, regardless of the policies for which one might advocate, regulatory action will never be sufficient to eliminate sin. As such, we must recognize that prayer bridges the gap between the incomplete capacities of our political system to restrain evil and the time when God will make all things new. In prayer, we look beyond the insufficient, yet important, legal and political decision making to a future state in which God will restore order through a full restoration of His creation (Rev. 21:1-4).

Do I believe that our political leaders need to act? Of course. Our political leaders are to align our nation as closely as possible with the order already established by God. Do I believe that our political leaders’ actions will fix the world? No. To believe that our political leaders can fix the world would make prayer—and, more importantly, God—superfluous. Political leaders don’t fix; they manage. They participate in the unenviable task of maintaining order in a broken, chaotic world.

To suggest that prayer is insufficient is to (1) recognize rightly that many Christians use prayer as an excuse not to practice “pure and undefiled” religion “before God, the Father” (Jas. 1:27, MEV), and (2) suggest that God either does not exist or is as powerless as human beings to confront evil. If what Christians mean when they say “I’ll pray for you” is “I wish such-and-such would not have happened, and I hope my empathy gives you some comfort because there is nothing else I or anyone else (including God) can do,” the world is right to question the efficacy of prayer.

When “I’ll pray for you” is no more potent than a “We Stand With Uvalde, TX” billboard, offering “thoughts and prayers” becomes a quaint expression of solidarity that we say before going about our business and forgetting the tragedies of the day.

For God’s people to commit to prayer is not some polite idea. It is a radical moment affirming that we (1) are incapable of fixing a broken world and (2) need God to guide us as we wait for Him to make all things new. When we act apart from prayer, we assume that somehow the world is no longer beyond our fixing.

Prayer is not an excuse to do nothing but pray, though at times prayer may be our only option. It is always right to pray, yet prayer is not necessarily an isolated activity. As we see opportunities to be with those who have suffered loss, or to press our political leaders to leave partisanship behind to cultivate order, we should do so.

Compassion and service travel with prayer. In service, we walk with those who are suffering even if we cannot alleviate their suffering. As I note in Thinking Christian, “Christians will leave the world broken, perhaps more broken despite our faithful efforts … within it. We do not faithfully convey God to the world by fixing the world” but “by continuing to be faithful as we confront a world so broken only God can fix it.” {eoa}

Former Charisma Publisher Dr. Steve Greene’s Kingdom Impact Will Last for Generations

For those who knew and loved him, Dr. Steve Greene’s death Wednesday from complications of COVID-19 came as a complete shock.

But there is no denying the godly impact Dr. Greene had on family, friends and business associates; a legacy of hope and compassion that will be passed down for many generations. Dr. Greene, who died at 69, spent seven years at Charisma Media as the company’s publisher and executive vice president of media. He also spent six years as the dean of the College of Business at Oral Robert University, where he left a lasting impression on many of his students, who kept in personal contact with him long after their educational bond had passed.

Here are just some of the people Dr. Greene’s personality gentle wisdom touched over the years:

“Steve Greene is the reason why CityServe has The Influencers Podcast with Charisma and why I even explored this ministry outreach. He was kind, inspirational and very wise. His crown in heaven will be heavy, weighted with many precious gems.” — Dave Donaldson, co-founder and chairman of the board of CityServe, Charisma podcaster.

“Dr. Greene brought out the best of everyone’s potential. He didn’t see anyone as an underdog. He mentored and taught everyone how to fly. He stretched and pushed you to cultivate and develop you. He was genuinely interested in seeing you succeed. His goal was to help you release the maximum impact you could have for the world, your business and your ministry. He believed in you. He believed in everyone; that is what made Him so great.” — Kathy DeGraw, founder of Kathy DeGraw Ministries, Charisma House author and host of Prophetic Spiritual Warfare on the Charisma Podcast Network.

“Over the years I’ve had the privilege of working with and serving alongside Dr. Steve Greene I have been continually challenged to pursue excellence in everything I do! Also he was not only a man of honor but he was lavish looking for ways to honor others. Today I join multitudes in honoring this phenomenal man of God and the legacy he leaves. “Well done, good and faithful servant. ” — Larry Tomczak, author, cultural commentator and host of Here’s the Deal on the Charisma Podcast Network.

“Dr. Greene had a powerful gift of making people feel seen, and I am no exception. As a former student, employee, mentee and friend, I saw him help people rise. He freely gave his time and knowledge to his students and invested in people deeply. I saw firsthand how he helped young people shine, held out a vision for them to grasp and thoughtfully carved out paths for their success. He did this in my life. Dr. Greene’s generosity gave me the knowledge I needed to build a business and the life I have today. I am forever grateful for my teacher, who became my friend and family.” —Samantha Hollyfield, former student of Dr. Greene’s at Oral Roberts University and social media specialist for Charisma Media.

“Dr. Steve Greene was a mentor to mentors—and certainly a mentor to me. He was one of my greatest cheerleaders, indeed. Working side by side with him for many years in my role as senior editor of Charisma, I learned to lean on his wisdom and grace to solve problems and pursue opportunities with Holy Spirit discernment and the love of Christ. I will miss him terribly, as I know many others will. — Jennifer LeClaire, former editor of Charisma magazine and founder of Jennifer LeClaire Ministries International.

“I am devastated to have learned about the death of Dr. Steve Greene this week. Over the past year, as the only Orthodox Jewish host of a weekly podcast about Israel on the CPN, I was blessed to develop a warm relationship with Dr. Greene. He always honored me and expressed his love for me personally, and Israel and the Jewish people. This was clear in the podcast in which I was privileged to host him as my guest. Dr. Greene was a source of wisdom and unparalleled teacher. As the ‘outsider’ coming to serve as a CPN host without prior relationship with Dr. Greene, I was awestruck by how, rightly, so many others who had long-term relationships held him in such high regard and reverence. When we spoke, I was particularly taken by the fact that Dr. Greene had never been to Israel. His love for Israel was biblical and to the core of his faith. I took it on as a personal agenda to find a way to get Dr. Greene to come to Israel, to be able to host him and to have the privilege of being there with him as his faith would have been deepened by being in the land. His death is a huge loss on so many levels. I am blessed to have known him and will always be touched by him.” – Jonathan Feldstein, author, president of the Genesis 123 Foundation and host of the Inspiration From Zion podcast on the Charisma Podcast Network.

Dr. Greene had a knack for bringing out the best in people. I am one who benefited from his tremendous set of gifts and love-centered style of leadership. I praise God for his life! He leaves a tremendous legacy and will be dearly missed.” — Kyle Winkler, Bible teacher and Charisma House author

“Dr. Steve will be greatly missed! “He always sounded so full of faith, full of encouragement, full of joy. You could hear the twinkle in his eye when you talked with him by phone. He will be greatly missed!” — Dr. Michael Brown, author, cultural commentator and host of The Line of Fire podcast on the Charisma Podcast Network

“We were deeply saddened to hear the news of the passing of Dr. Steve Greene, while also being assured that he is now awakened in the presence of the very one he faithfully served. Many of us are the beneficiaries of his investment of time and influence. He was always so personable, a consummate servant, freely offering the knowledge and wisdom God has given him through the years to build the kingdom of God. He was gracious, present and delighted in promoting what the Lord was doing through others. Our thoughts and heart are especially with his family and loved ones, as well as his colleagues at Charisma, and with all those who had the pleasure of being a recipient of Dr. Greene’s life and friendship! — Doug Stringer, author, founder and CEO of Somebody Cares International and host of the A Word in Season podcast on the Charisma Podcast Network

“Dr. Greene was more than an excellent marketplace leader; he was a commissioned general in the faith who created a bridge between business and ministry. His vision for the Charisma Podcast Network went beyond teaching us to deliver a podcast promise. He taught us to become excellent and to let our light shine through exemplary work. “Have you no compassion?” he often asked. Compassion means doing the hard thing, and Dr. Greene always did the hard thing. He led a life of excellence that modeled godly leadership. We will miss his interjected “Pshaw!”, “Boom Chakalaka!” and “Go higher!” His love was contagious, and before we had known him long, he became more than a coach to us—he became family. The church has lost a treasure, but for those to whom he imparted his anointing and wisdom, his mission continues. Certainly for us and all the Next Gen Prophets, his work has only begun as we take it to the next generation. — Craig and Colette Toach and the Next Gen Prophet Team. The Toaches are founders of Next Gen Prophets and co-hosts of the Next Gen Prophets podcast on the Charisma Podcast Network.

“Dr. Greene had me on his podcast several times, and he was always so encouraging to me about my ministry. He shared my passion to disciple the next generation. I know he made a mark on many young leaders.” — J. Lee Grady, former Charisma editor, author and founder of The Mordecai Project.

“When I first met Dr. Greene in 2011, he was a highly respected professor and department chair at Oral Roberts University. I, like other alumni and students, stood in awe of this man known for his leadership, his kindness and his visionary approach to life.

“We were between meetings when I introduced myself to him; he took the time to sit down and have a conversation with me that I will never forget. He instantly heard my heart, believed in my calling and became an immediate cheerleader and encourager. Dr. Greene opened doors for me to minister to thousands of people through the Charisma Podcast Network and Ministry Today online.

“The amazing thing about Dr. Steve Greene is that he treated everyone the way that he treated me. His great calling in life was to lead others with kindness and love. My life is forever changed because of this extraordinary man who practiced what he preached.” — Dr. Carol McLeod, author, founder of Carol McLeod Ministries and host of the Jolt of Joy podcast on the Charisma Podcast Network.

“Dr. Steve Greene was my cherished friend whose temporal life Satan literally stole from us. But Steve won the battle in choosing eternal life over death and we know where he is. I will miss the interviews, and also the fellowship at all hours of the day or night when we both would be working on Kingdom projects of vital importance to Charisma and the Kingdom of God. What Steve has accomplished for God’s Kingdom will last forever for his endeavors were not in vain. — James F. Linzey, chaplain, President of the Military Bible Association and chief editor and executive director of the Modern English Version of the Bible.

“In life it is unusual to find spiritual depth and theological excellence matched with compassion and a spirit of humility. Dr. Steve Greene carried these qualities and pulled those qualities out of those he knew. It is true he will be surely missed for who he was here on earth and the betterment he brought to those who knew and loved him but most of all I will miss him as a friend and remain grateful for the promise of eternal life. Shalom, my friend until we meet again. — Rabbi Curt Landry, founder and President of Curt Landry Ministries. {eoa}

Dr. Steve Greene, Former Charisma Publisher, Dies of COVID Complications

Dr. Steve Greene, former dean of the College of Business at Oral Roberts University, marketing expert, author of Love Leads, and former publisher and executive vice president of Charisma Media, died Wednesday at the age of 69 from complications of COVID-19.

Dr. Greene leaves a tremendous legacy of not only business success as a publisher, author and marketer, but as a follower of Jesus Christ, whose love for God and obedience to the Holy Spirit in everything he did were evident to anyone who knew him.

Charisma Media founder and CEO Steve Strang says Dr. Greene, who served at Charisma for over seven years, left a lasting impression on both the owners and employees at Charisma Media, where he came in 2015 and stayed until he retired from the company in late 2021.

“Dr. Steve Greene was a great man with a long list of accomplishments, including giving leadership over our Media Group for more than seven years,” Strang says. “In that time, we became good friends and I saw firsthand how he led with love—which was the subject of his book, Love Leads. I’m shocked at the news of his death. I need time to process and will write my own tribute later.”

Dr. Mark Rutland, founder and director of the National institute of Christian Leadership and Global Servants and former president of Oral Roberts University, mourns the loss of his dear friend.

“Dr. Steve Greene was a true professional in every sense of the word,” Rutland says. “As the dean of the college of business at ORU while I was president, he was an invaluable asset. Steve was a leader, an author, an educator and a minister. I admired his work ethic, his character and his zeal for the Lord. He was a loyal friend, and I will miss him greatly.”

Charisma House published Love Leads, Dr. Greene’s only book, in July 2017. Amazon describes the book as one that “will help you see that love and leadership are not mutually exclusive and learn that without love, you cannot be an effective leader. You will discover what it looks like to lead with love—is there a process of love? is tough love really love?—and you will view leadership as it’s never been seen before as Dr. Greene dispels the myths and misconceptions many have come to accept about leadership.”

Internationally known Christian author John Bevere said in his endorsement of Love Leads: “Love Leads is a must-read for all those in a position of leadership. My friend Dr. Steve Greene challenges readers to lead those entrusted to them with truth and love. This book will change the way you lead and love.”

Dr. Greene was the creator and producer of the Charisma Podcast Network, which showed incredible growth during his tenure. For several years, he also hosted the popular podcast, Greenelines. The show garnered millions of downloads.

He spent six years as the dean of the College of Business and the dean of Distance Learning at Oral Roberts University, where he was beloved by his students.

Dr. Greene wrote in Love Leads: “I was able to influence my students not simply because I was their professor, but because I had built relationships with them.” Other key quotes include:

— “A relationship with Jesus is the most important qualification of a leader.”

— “A godly leader inspires people to come up higher.”

— “If we are led by the Holy Spirit, everyone will notice His presence in how we do what we do.”

Dr. Greene earned a DBA in marketing from the University of Memphis in 1983, an MBA in marketing from Southeastern Louisiana University in 1979 and a B.A. in marketing from Southeastern Louisiana in 1975.

As the CEO and president of Steve Greene Consulting, he developed marketing and revenue generating plans for clients including McDonald’s, Jiffy Lube, Stanley Steemer, St. John’s Hospital, Brandon Tourism Board and many other local and national clients. He also conducted primary research in 83 television markets for audience measurement and target marketing.

One of Dr. Greene’s passions was his lifelong love for the St. Louis Cardinals Major League baseball team. He was an avid collector of Cardinals memorabilia.

Dr. Greene leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Anette, two children and three grandchildren.

Myths About the Baptism with the Holy Spirit

Since speaking in tongues is a New Testament phenomenon and we are in the New Testament era, why should not speaking in tongues, therefore, continue? If it should not, where is the historical line drawn?

Where in Scripture did the theological change take place? There is no historical line drawn and there is no theological change in Scripture. We are commanded to speak in tongues as late as Ephesians 6:18 in AD 64 and Jude 20 in AD 70. Since the Holy Spirit was given with the confirmation of speaking in tongues, He is continually given with this confirmation.

God does not change to fit our theological perspective. It is correct to claim tongues should occur today, because this manifestation came with the Holy Spirit in the New Testament. The Bible shows that believers received the baptism with the Holy Spirit as confirmed by speaking in tongues on numerous occasions for approximately 40 years after the Day of Pentecost, attesting to its continuance.

Some people argue that Satan speaks in tongues and that we might, therefore, get a counterfeit if we speak in tongues. We should rest assured that Satan does not speak in tongues, because if he did or if this were an issue with which we should be concerned, Paul or Jesus would have addressed this issue in Scripture. Since they were not concerned about it, neither should we be concerned about it.

Some people argue that since Jesus did not speak in tongues, neither should we. Jesus did not need to speak in tongues, because He had full communication with the Father and knew how to pray. Also, Jesus’ earthly life pre-dated the era of the New Testament. Speaking in tongues is a New Testament phenomenon. The era of the New Testament began on the Day of Pentecost. So, the fact that Jesus did not speak in tongues cannot be used as an argument against His followers speaking in tongues.

When speaking in tongues, is it possible that one is speaking gibberish? There is no such thing as gibberish according to 1 Corinthians 14:10, which says that every utterance has meaning with God.

The baptism with the Holy Spirit is the most needed experience that God provides for all Christians. It takes us into deeper communion with God, changes us, and transforms us into dynamic Christians and powerful witnesses. {eoa}

James F. Linzey received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Studies at Vanguard University of Southern California (1979), and a Master of Divinity degree at Fuller Theological Seminary (1983) where he studied Church Growth under Peter Wagner and Signs and Wonders under John Wimber. Chuck Pierce Prophesies: ‘Between Now and the End of July, DC Is the Key’

Prophet Chuck Pierce says that between now and the end of July, believers need to watch very closely what is happening in our capital of Washington, D.C.

Ever-accelerating inflation, the crucial abortion issue and debilitating division between the two political parties have put a vise grip on our nation in recent months. Many crucial decisions are expected to come down from Washington in the next two months, including the Supreme Court’s ruling on Roe v. Wade.

Pierce says believers should heed the decree of Daniel 7:9, which reads, “I watched until the thrones were cast down and the Ancient of Days was seated, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of His head like the pure wool. His throne was like the fiery flame, and its wheels as burning fire” (MEV).

“What happens in this scripture is that the Ancient of Days shows up in the midst of the turmoil of Daniel’s vision,” Pierce says. “And your visions can create turmoil within you. Then, the Ancient of Days shows up. I want you to grab hold of that. We are in a very strategic time where God is giving us revelation. We are all making our journey through, and it becomes critical for us to understand that God sent us in time for today. … We have to know that some visions carry great weight for intercession.

“In Daniel chapter 7, the Ancient of Days comes down to really encourage the saints. The enemy is warring with you. The enemy wants to wear down the saints of the Most High God. He will intend to change the times and the laws. That’s the only thing he has. … The enemy is trying to wear down our minds, our thinking process. He will speak to you so much that he wears your brain down. He will wear you down and even cause you to fail. But in that, we are in an era that God is strengthening us. … But we want to stay in timing with the Lord. And from that, you are going to be seated in a new way.

“I want you to know that right now, the timing of D.C. is very key and that everything that goes on between now and the end of July is very key. It can be turned the way the Lord wants it to.”

Jonathan Cahn Says Believers Must Become ‘Radical’ for America to Survive

Jonathan Cahn’s blockbuster movie “The Harbingers of Things to Come” comes to one realistic and sobering conclusion for America and its future: “If America falls, it’s going to accelerate everything you read about in the Bible.”

In a recent interview on Clay Clark’s Thrive Time Show, Cahn tells Clark: “We are living in prophetic times, so we have to be a prophetic people. We have to speak to the culture. We are not living in that ‘Christian culture’ anymore. We have to be radical. We have to be like the prophets.

“In many churches we sing, ‘These are the days of Elijah.’ That’s great, and I love the song. But if these are the days of Elijah, then we have to become the Elijahs of the day. God does raise up voices, but we’re all to be prophetic. We have to speak truth; we have to shine the light and we have to be very much like Elijah.

“Keep in mind that when we sing that song, the days of Elijah were actually times of persecution. We have to be the one who will stand. It’s like the candle in the daytime—you don’t see it. But the candle lights up the night. We are called to become the candle in the night. That’s why I believe these can be the greatest times for those who will stand like Elijah and be the prophets of this generation; to speak to the times when God will anoint them and lift us up. This will be our hour.”

The Harbingers of Things to Come was a blockbuster success, coming in as one of the top five films viewed across the nation, with the third-highest per-screen average for the two days it was featured in theaters. The first showing alone saw the film rank number 2 at the box office as the second-highest-grossing film nationally. In total, the explosive motion picture saw almost 100,000 people in just two nights and grossed more than $1 million.

After such a triumph at the box office, The Harbingers of Things to Come is now available for hosting at churches, communities, groups and organizations nationwide, through ticketed streaming events from May 13 to July 31, 2022, at The Faith Content Network. With a network of nearly 150,000 pastors and church leaders, the Faith Content Network is a collection of churches that present new, faith-driven theatrical events available in tandem with their exclusive theatrical releases. {eoa}

Shocking Study: Why Don’t Most Adult US Christians Believe the Holy Spirit Is Real?

A disconnect between the Word of God and what’s presented in many American churches can cause Christians of all ages to struggle with their faith, according to author Sallie Dawkins.

Published by Firebrand United, Dawkins’ newest book, Spirit World Truths from God’s Word, is a compilation of over 600 scriptures designed as a resource for Christians curious to know what God says about His Holy Spirit, man’s spirit, demonic spirits and spiritual warfare.

According to an American Worldview Inventory survey published in February 2021 by Arizona Christian University’s Cultural Research Center, most adult U.S. Christians don’t believe the Holy Spirit is real.

A majority of the 2,000 Americans surveyed identified as Christians, saying they believe God is all-powerful, all-knowing and the Creator of the universe. Still, more than half rejected the existence of the Holy Spirit.

Dawkins believes this view is contrary to overwhelming biblical evidence. “God Himself teaches us by His Word and Spirit,” she emphasizes. “In 2015, God taught me to confront assumptions, doubts and lies with the truth of His Word.”

This heart encounter with God challenged her entire belief system and rapidly transformed her life. She believes cultivating a deeper relationship with God brought victory over decades-long chronic pain. It’s what launched her into ministry as a Christian healing evangelist.

Dawkins shares her inspiring testimony of learning to love and trust God more completely in The Awakening Christian Series. She’s also compiled several books of themed scriptures to inspire and support readers on their spiritual journey.
