Was Job Really the Most Righteous Man on Earth?

The Old Testament story of Job has perplexed followers of God for thousands of years. Was Job’s journey one of suffering without reason, his life a tale of spiritual warfare?

Or is there another explanation?

Using exacting biblical exegesis in her award-winning book The Joy of Job, investigative reporter Maribeth Vander Weele challenges the belief that Job was a righteous man and God arbitrarily allowed him to suffer.

In an age where many preach only the concept of a loving God, Vander Weele, who says she feels like the book was “written by the Spirit,” challenges this assumption and says the Bible’s message requiring repentance and obedience to a holy God is often overlooked.

“God isn’t capricious. He’s loving, and when we don’t listen to Him, He does sometimes have to take drastic measures, like turning us over to Satan,” Vander Weele told Dr. Steve Greene on a recent episode of “Greenelines” on the Charisma Podcast Network. “The traditional interpretation (of the book of Job) makes God out to be a bad guy. When we look at it in another way, we fall on our knees in humility and say, ‘God, how dare I accuse you of wrongdoing?'”

“I believe that the Lord brought this out in this age because we are living in an age of humanism. Humanism is where everything evolves around us and human comfort and not God’s purposes. … This isn’t about us. It’s about God, and it’s about when we turn ourselves over to Him and allow ourselves to be used for His purposes, very powerful and miraculous things happen. But as long as we think that God is ‘Santa God,’ then we have an absolutely weak Christianity that no one from the outside is interested in following.”

How God Can Use Your Story to Break Demonic Chains

When home alone, she turned on lights. She turned up the TV. But why?

Throughout most of her life, Tammy Hotsenpiller struggled with fear. As she explored her past, filtered through her knowledge of Scripture, she realized, “God has not given us the spirit of fear. But we know that it is an actual spirit that we are really almost struggling with, a demonic spirit, I believe.”

Hotsenpiller, co-founder and co-senior pastor of Influence Church in Anaheim, California, knows she’s not alone in this struggle. And she realized the story of how God helped her break free could help others find the deliverance they seek.

That’s why Hotsenpiller, who is also a life coach, founded Story Club, a safe place on the internet for individuals to talk about the “pain points” of their life journey.

“On social media, we all feel like we need to talk about this perfect little world we pretend to live in. But that’s not truth,” Hotsenpiller told Dr. Steve Greene on a recent episode of “Greenelines” on the Charisma Podcast Network. “The truth is that there is pain to our stories. There is hurt, shame and embarrassment. But do you know that those are the very things that God can use to not only set you free, but others too?

“I believe in using your story to pay it forward to the next generation for freedom, for purpose. It doesn’t matter if it’s fear or jealousy or entitlement or anger or anxiety. We can begin to identify what your story is. Your vulnerability and honesty will help other develop a sense of connection that will help them on a path to freedom.”

The Key to Racial Healing and Breaking Down Generational Wounds

As part of the African-American community, Dr. Joseph Green knows full well the deep-seated racial wounds that have darkened American culture and pervade modern society. Those wounds underlie Green’s launch of the 2019 Movement, intended to restore and reconcile the black community in America to its God-given destiny.

The co-founder of Antioch Assembly located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and a board member for Healing International, Green began to take notice of the intensity at which racial division began to accelerate throughout this past decade. Tragedies surrounding Trayvon Martin in Orlando, Florida, and Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, to name a few, grieved his spirit.

Green refers to John 17:21a, in which Jesus prayed, “that they may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You.”

“God’s intention is for us to be reconciled not only to Him, but to each other,” Green told Dr. Steve Greene on a recent episode of “Greenelines” on the Charisma Podcast Network. “That made sense for me as to why there was such racial division and unrest and prejudice that was really coming to the surface again in this country. I believe it’s because the enemy is trying to do as he always does—distort and twist and disrupt God’s plan—which is for us to come together, every tribe and every tongue, as one.”

Green says this unity and healing begins with forgiveness, the staple of the 2019 Movement. Every time he speaks to audiences, he prays a prayer of forgiveness he hopes will overwhelm all of God’s children.

“You’re empowered when you recognize that someone has done something to me, but yet I’m not allowing it to have power in my life, for it to continue to victimize me,” Green says. “Unity in the midst of diversity can’t be something that just happens. It should be something that we as the church are pursuing, especially in this time and season.”

Pam Tebow: The Motivating and Miraculous Power of a Woman’s Influence

Pam Tebow wants women to know they have the God-given power to influence lives—no matter what age they are. They don’t have to listen to the devil’s lies any longer.

When her mother turned 70 and questioned the value of her life’s accomplishments, Tebow helped change her mother’s mindset and convince her of her worth. When her mother died 16 years later, she knew she had made a difference. That’s only one story of Tebow’s sphere of influence.

While in college, she realized she needed to know and learn God’s Word to impact others. Once the Bible became a part of her, she knew she could impact others, including the character of her five children. Former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow, Pam’s son, credits his mom’s teaching as the key to his success.

The ripple effects of a woman’s influence, Pam Tebow says, can extend far beyond anything you can imagine.

“We’re all in different seasons of life and have different opportunities,” Tebow said on a recent episode of “Charisma Connection.” “No matter whether we’re young or old, we still have the opportunity, as long as we are still breathing, to have a positive impact on the people around us.

“We all want a reason to wake up and have something to look forward to that’s bigger than just starting a job or a class or our home environment. We want a reason to keep on keeping on. The purpose of influence gives us that reason.”

An Attempted Suicide Took Her to Hell … But God

At 15, Tamara Laroux felt weighed down by immense pain and heartache. She saw only one way of escape—suicide.

So one day after school, she came home, locked herself in the bathroom and shot herself in the chest, missing her heart by only a half-inch. Immediately, she felt her soul leave her body. And after a short journey, she knew instantly that she had landed in a place of deep torment.

“I instantly erupted in immense pain and torment, and all I could do was scream in complete agony,” Laroux, the co-founder of Life Change International ministry, told Dr. Steve Greene on a recent episode of “Greenelines” on the Charisma Podcast Network. “I was in complete isolation, in complete loneliness. I knew without any doubt that the reason why my torment was so intense and so severe was because I was away from the presence of God … there was no doubt I was in hell.

“All that mattered was that Christ was Lord, and I had rejected Him. So I screamed out, ‘Lord God, send someone back to the earth to be bold enough to tell people the truth, that this is reality. Send someone back to tell them that this place of torment is very real and that You are a good God.'”

The pain and suffering suddenly stopped. “It was like this hand just came down and scooped me up,” Laroux says. What followed next was an incredible story of redemption.

“It is a beautiful reminder of how much God loves us and how far God will go to reach down and save those who cry out to Him,” Laroux says. “I can’t go far enough away from Him that His love and His mercy will not be there for me.”

Why This Truck Driver Calls Himself a ‘Secret Agent’ and ‘Undercover Priest’

As a truck driver Monday through Friday, Chad Bird has many opportunities to spread the gospel. God has given him an on-the-road platform to bring an encouraging message to not only his customers but also the many homeless people he meets every week.

As a speaker and author of the book Upside Down Spirituality: The Nine Essential Failures of a Faithful Life, Bird wants people to know that even though they may be struggling at the moment, God has other plans for them. They have value in His sight.

“Everyone in one way or another is looking for hope,” Bird told Dr. Steve Greene on a recent episode of “Greenelines” on the Charisma Podcast Network. “They’re struggling with one thing or another. If I can be there to offer support and encouragement or prayer, then thanks be to God for that opportunity.

“I love the way my job keeps me connected with everyday people in every situation. It gives me a lot of opportunities to interact with people, customers in my area where I deliver. But I’ve also had many interactions with homeless people, and I kind of act like a secret agent or an undercover priest to speak words of peace and hope and to pray with them. God has put me in a ministry position that is unlike anything I would have foreseen years ago.”

The Destructive Force That Enslaves a Large Portion of the Church

Luke Gibbons grew up in a Christian home. But, he says, “I grew up and found pornography online, and it just got deeper and deeper for me. It really took me into a spiraling addiction that lasted 10 years, from right from when I was in high school through to university and then to working full-time. Sometimes I’d be up all night viewing and then going to work on an hour sleep. … I knew God didn’t want me in that space.”

Gibbons also knew he had to get help. He had tried to overcome his porn addiction on his own, but until he opened up to men who had the same struggles, he would stay trapped in the bondage that had gripped him for so many years.

Through his transparency, Gibbons discovered The Conquer Series, a video series that has helped more than 1 million men—including Gibbons—in 80 countries around the world, to walk in freedom from this destructive force. This fulfills the words of James 5:16 a, which tells us to “confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed.”

Conquer Series research reveals that a staggering 68 percent of churchgoing men view pornography on a regular basis. And many churchgoing women, teens and even children also struggle with viewing pornography. The fact that this occurs in secret exacerbates the problem.

“If we have pain in our life, we can medicate it through pornography without anybody knowing it,” said Gibbons, head of marketing and church relations for Kingdom Works, the producers of the Conquer Series. “But at the core, we know about it, and God knows about it, and that eats us away … Until we get help, it’s going to continue to do that.”

How to Break Generational Strongholds Over Your Family

“I see so much crisis today. Parents are battling with the problems of their children. We are looking at a generation that’s captivated by the magic of very new technology and the social networks that absorb all their attention and their senses. It’s greatly affecting the family,” says Dr. Iris Delgado, founder and president of Crowned with Purpose Ministries.

This generational crisis sent Delgado into action—and compels her to share her message of hope with as many people as she can. Her concern for her own family, in fact, sent her on the path of life-changing prayer.

“I have seen how God has used the power of powerful praying and interceding in the Spirit to affect their lives in many ways, how God has rescued them and protected them from the hands of the enemy,” she tells Dr. Steve Greene on the “Greenelines” podcast on the Charisma Podcast Network.

“In order for change to take place, first, change has to take place in the heart of the parent,” Delgado explains. Her most recent book, Powerful Prayers to Protect the Heart of Your Children, helps parents tap into the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit to protect their children and to break free from generational strongholds and curses.

“God will do what you can’t do, and that is changing the heart. You want the heart of your child to be changed and transformed? You can’t do it, parents. You have to allow the Holy Spirit to do it.”

33 Things Holy Spirit Promises You Every Day

In John 16:7b (ESV), Jesus makes what seems like a confusing statement. Only days before His death on the cross, He tells His disciples it is “to your advantage that I go away.” But in the rest of the verse, He explains the reason behind His words: “For if I do not go away, the Counselor will not come to you. But if I go, I will send Him to you.”

The Counselor, of course, is the Holy Spirit, who fills, equips and empowers believers. Yet many of us overlook His important ministry in our lives.

Dr. Steve Greene, executive vice president of Charisma Media, breaks down the Holy Spirit’s powerful work into 33 specific functions, 33 divine actions you can expect from this third member of the Trinity. In this powerful episode of “Greenelines” on the Charisma Podcast Network, Greene pairs each promise with a Scripture and a brief explanation.

The Holy Spirit teaches. He reveals. He guides. He unites. He transforms. He prays for you. He helps you to obey. He even prophesies through you—and so much more.

To learn more about the wonderful things the Holy Spirit promises you, fills you with and does for you every day, listen to the podcast below. As the Spirit does His work in you, you’ll want to listen over and over again, and share with those who don’t yet understand these vital truths.

Miracles, Signs and Wonders Happen in Same Place Heidi Baker Was Healed of MS

Back in 1975, evangelist Billy Graham gave a well-known prophetic word about Native Americans being the “sleeping giant” that, when awakened, would help win America back to Christ. As they pastor in Alaska, Craig Nicholia and his wife, Rose, are seeing that word fulfilled.

“God is pouring out His Spirit here,” Nicholia said on a recent episode of “Charisma Connection” on the Charisma Podcast Network. “It’s a harvest field up here that hasn’t really been tapped into as far as souls are concerned. On a weekly basis, we’re seeing some magnificent things up here—signs, wonders and miracles—for Jesus’ glory.”

Nicholia says he saw that same power heal his good friend Heidi Baker of multiple sclerosis in Fairbanks, Alaska, more than 20 years ago. He and Baker trained for the ministry together under the Iris Ministries umbrella.

Nicholia expects more of the same in June during the 10-day, fourth annual International Prophetic Fire Conference and Revival, which is expected to draw people from around the world to Fairbanks.

“This is a move of God, not a move of man,” Nicholia says. “There are going to be visitations by the Holy Spirit in these meetings, and the Lord will truly have His way.”
