News Brief: Muslim Bible Translators Miraculously Converting to Christianity

Never underestimate how creative God can get when it comes to executing the Great Commission.

Scripture makes it very clear that, as believers, one of our fundamental duties is to help people find Jesus and to make disciples out of them. The work of the Bible translation ministry and its partnership with the Church Growth Project of Chad is a perfect example.

It comes as no surprise that the majority of the population in the African county is Muslim, and Arabic and French are the two official languages. But PCET doesn’t take that into consideration when hiring locals to take on a job, and that includes translating Bible stories into their native tongue.

Most of the people who responded to an ad for workers just happened to be non-Christian, but what is happening with this work project is no less than a miracle.

has reported that, because of their work with the Bible, at least two Muslim translators have converted to Christianity, and that “many of the imams in the area have been surprisingly open to engaging with the groups in reading the stories to their villages once they’re completed.”

Some of the translators’ faiths have grown and, as one Chadian leader described it, “people have come to see that Christianity is not just a Western product. When they can listen to the Word of God in their own language, that changes the narrative.”

Eric Steggerda, field operations manager for unfoldingWord, says that “many of these languages are struggling for importance in the world. There’s not much that’s actually in their mother tongue, so they rejoice when they find things that are, because it really speaks to them of the importance of their language. They’re very receptive to the idea of the Bible stories, for example, translated into their mother tongue.”

During this journey, PCET brought in pastors to help ensure that each group’s translations were accurate and free of theological errors, but it was rare for the difference in religion to be an issue. And the work has already begun to bear fruit in amazing ways. {eoa}

Fiery Bishop: Churches Should Display Their ‘Jesus Pride’

Bishop Patrick L. Wooden Sr. wants everyone to know that Jesus loves them. He loves everyone, including those in the LGBTQ community that are celebrating “Pride Month” during the entire month of June.

But then, as Bishop Wooden Sr. told Pastor John Amanchukwu in a recent interview for Charisma News, that is what the LGBTQ community is participating in, simply “rebellion.”

“We are seeing people who are trying to make right that what your Bible says is wrong,” says Wooden Sr., the senior pastor at the Upper Room Church of God in Christ in Raleigh, North Carolina.

And one of the issues that Wooden Sr. has with the LGBTQ community is the hijacking of the rainbow, a symbol that God used in Genesis as a covenant to His people that He would never destroy the earth again like he did with the Great Flood, while sparing Noah and his family.

“The rainbow is the most beautiful symbol of God’s grace and mercy,” Wooden Sr. said. “It was issued before the cross. It was issued before we got the Ark of the Covenant. I would go as far as to say that it was the cross at that time.

“God said in Genesis chapter nine, ‘I put a bow in the sky, and this bow will remind me that I will never flood the earth again—a covenant I made with every living creature. God says that it reminds us that no matter how much it is raining, God’s not going to let it rain for 40 days and 40 nights and flood the earth again.”

Wooden Sr. compels church officials during this month to display a seven-color rainbow flag, signifying the grace and mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ.

“The church should not allow any entity to claim that. And during this Jesus Pride Month, which is our take pushing against Pride Month, I hope that every church displays inside or outside the church a seven-color rainbow, which occurs naturally,” Wooden Sr. said. “It’s the one that God made and we should hold it up. We should explain it. We should not surrender this symbol of grace and mercy to people who are practicing, according to the Scripture, an abominable lifestyle.”

Amanchukwu recently preached a sermon on Philippians 3:18-21, which reads: “For many are walking in such a way that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ. I have told you of them often and tell you again, even weeping. Their destination is destruction, their god is their appetite, their glory is in their shame, their minds are set on earthly things. But our citizenship is in heaven, from where also we await for our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our body of humiliation, so that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working of His power even to subdue all things to Himself.”

Wooden Sr. was present for the sermon, and he wants to remind believers of the second part of that Scripture that reads, beginning in verse 20, “But our citizenship is in heaven, from where also we await for our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our body of humiliation, so that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working of His power even to subdue all things to Himself.

“You (Amanchukwu) dealt with that which men should be ashamed of is now being held up as being glorious,” Wooden Sr. said. “They are celebrating that which is shameful. I don’t know if it is politically correct or spiritually correct for me to say this, but this behavior is wicked, it is godless and it is anti-human. If all human beings practiced it, it would be the extinction of the whole human race.

“In saying these things, this is now called hate. It’s not hate, it’s the truth. And what we want people to do is to discover the life that Jesus Christ has for every person. So, I’m praying that churches everywhere get the flag. Have one made. This is Jesus pride. We’re proud to be Christians and we’re proud to be born again and know the Lord.”

Pat Robertson: ‘He Lived a Life of Virtue and Righteousness’

Pat Robertson will be forever remembered for his countless accomplishments and pioneering spirit in the Christian broadcasting realm. But it was his uncompromising character and integrity that will bring him numerous blessings before the Lord.

Kingdom leaders throughout the global paid heartfelt tribute to the founder of the Christian Broadcasting Network and Regent University, one of the leading Christian venues of higher education worldwide:

Charisma Media Founder and CEO Stephen Strang said of Robertson: “Pat Robertson will be remembered as a giant among other Christian leaders. His legacy in media, his support of conservative values in the political realm and his founding of Regent University mean his influence will continue for generations. He was an early charismatic and helped that movement get off the ground.

“Then, over the years, he was a voice of reason. He was also an example of integrity. Even though his critics loved to trash him, he lived a life of virtue and righteousness. This comes out in his book, “I Have Walked With the Living God,” which is his autobiography that I had the privilege of publishing. Even though I’m a generation younger, I got to know him well and always considered him an example to emulate.”

Evangelist Franklin Graham recognized Robertson’s friendship, and that with Graham’s father, Billy Graham, who passed away in Feb. 2018.

“Pat Robertson, a great friend to my father, to me and to our ministries, has graduated to a new address in heaven,” Franklin Graham said. “Heaven is real and awaits everyone who puts their faith and trust in God and His Son, Jesus Christ. Pat had an influence on me. I was always impressed with his boldness. He just spoke the truth and he was willing to take the heat.

“I will miss Pat, but I know that I will see him again one day. I’m sure that his family would appreciate our prayers.”

Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in Me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in Me shall never die” (John 11:25-26).

Turning Point ministry leader David Jeremiah said in a statement: “A kind and gracious servant went to be with Jesus today. Having had the opportunity to know Pat, it was clear he wanted everyone he met to experience the love of Christ and salvation for themselves. He was bold and brave, steadfast in his commitment to serve the kingdom of God with his many gifting’s. He’ll indeed be missed, yet his legacy of sharing the gospel—on the airwaves, worldwide—carries on. Praise God for that.”

Dr. Tim Clinton, President of the American Association of Christian Counselors and author of the Charisma House book “Peace for Your Mind, Hope for Your Heart, wrote:

“We are saddened to hear of the passing of Pat Robertson, a Christian powerhouse, who dedicated his life to glorifying the Lord. His impact will live on for generations to come, as someone who remained steadfast in his Christian faith and values, no matter what was thrown his way. During this time, we are praying for his family’s peace and strength as they navigate this difficult loss.”

Doug Stringer, Founder and CEO of Somebody Cares International, wrote in an email:

“Today the Lord called home another giant in the faith. We honor the life and legacy of Dr. Pat Robertson who founded and led CBN, Operation Blessing, Regent University and more. A man of great faith and charity, Pat left an indelible mark of the gospel around the world; but also on our lives and ministry. His unwavering commitment to building the kingdom of God paired with his heart of compassion opened the door for millions of dollars’ worth of aid to flow through Somebody Cares chapters around the country in response to natural disasters and personal crisis. And while the ministries he led have helped us have a great impact in the communities we serve, Pat personally had a profound impact on many individuals lives—including ours. Our Vice President, Jodie Chiricosta, was honored to work closely with Pat from time to time during her years at Regent University and Operation Blessing. She saw first-hand his zeal for the Lord, integrity, determination, wisdom and quiet generosity—qualities that have impacted her life. I was also personally impacted by His graciousness on several occasions. Pat’s ministry was instrumental in drawing me back to Christ, connecting me to a church and setting him on the path of ministry.”

In a released statement, Family Research Council President Tony Perkins said: “I am grateful for the vision and courage of Pat Robertson. My first formal introduction into the world of government and political action was in the wake of his run for president and the creation of the Christian Coalition. It was a shaping experience to serve as chairman of the coalition in Baton Rouge many years ago. Pat’s vision and legacy as a man of God and a man of action will live on and continue to inspire.”

Regent University Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. William L. Hathaway, said: “Dr. Robertson was a globally-renowned leader, broadcaster, philanthropist, educator, author, accomplished businessman and—most importantly—a faithful servant of God who dedicated his life to glorifying the Lord and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.”

John Ashcroft, who served as the 79th Attorney General for the United States and is a distinguished professor at Regent, said online: “His legacy is a life well-lived in loving and faithful obedience to Jesus Christ and His glorious gospel.”

Here are some comments from other prominent kingdom leaders:

Jay Sekulow, American Center for Law and Justice: “Today we mourn the passing and celebrate the life of Dr. Pat Robertson, who has gone on to be with the Lord. Pat was prolific in his lifetime of ministry, founding the American Center for Law and Justice, Regent University, the Christian Broadcasting Network, and the 700 Club. His incredible accomplishments and example of Christian living are a legacy that will continue to inspire for years to come. Thank you for everything, Pat.”

Sam Rodriguez, President, NHCLC: “Pat Robertson single-handedly transformed the world of broadcast journalism. To a great degree, he can be described as a modern-day Joshua who brought down the wall separating Christianity from broadcast journalism. Way beyond the legacy of CBN, the favor upon Dr. Robertson’s life cannot and will not be denied. As the founder of Regent University, he reconciled once again faith with the highest level of academic rigor. Yet, at the end of the day, Pat was primarily an evangelist. His desire and commitment to sharing the gospel of Jesus with everyone without exception make Pat Robertson a Christian leader who, without one iota of doubt, changed the world.”

PatRobertsonbookcoverJames Dobson, Ph.D., Founder, James Dobson Family Institute

“Sadly, within the last six months, a generation of Christian leaders has passed—Dr. Charles Stanley, Dr. Jack Hayford, and now, Dr. Pat Robertson. All of these men were dear friends and had a profound spiritual impact on our nation. Dr. Robertson was a giant among Christian leaders and contributed enormously to the cause of Christ. He led multiple millions to a saving knowledge of the gospel, and heaven will be populated by people who came under Pat’s influence. He pioneered Christian radio and television, paving the way for many of us who came will miss him, especially now that America is experiencing a spiritual crisis. Pat always had a clear perspective on morality and truth, and he had the courage to stand for righteousness, whether it was popular or not.”

Pastor T.D. Jakes: “Pat Robertson was a trailblazer who offered the world the best of his service. Anyone that knew him, knows he was a fearless leader. … Pat was a maverick and had his own way of getting things done. We didn’t always agree and our views differed occasionally. Knowing him personally allowed me to see many notable aspects to him that those who didn’t know him, weren’t always aware of. He was often controversial; in spite of that, his achievements remain undoubtedly noteworthy.”

Dr. Billy Wilson, President of Oral Roberts University and Empowered21: “I am saddened to hear of the passing of Pat Robertson. Dr. Robertson was a visionary innovator. His legacy reached beyond religious broadcasting to touch the world. He was a special friend of @OralRobertsU and  @empowered21. We send our love and prayers to the Robertson family.”

Matthew Barnett, Founder of the LA Dream Center: “Sad at the loss of Pat Robertson. Twice during COVID he called me on the phone and told me not to give up and wrote two personal large checks from his own pocket to help us feed thousands. [That’s] just the kind of man he was off television.”

Nick Hall, Founder and President of Pulse: “Pat Robertson’s life was one of tremendous impact, and he was always incredibly kind and gracious to me. As an evangelist, his message impacted millions through live and digital efforts. I will never forget hearing his voice in my home as the 700 Club was on. A true innovator and statesman, his legacy lives on.”

Pastor John Hagee: “Heaven gained a general in the army of God with the passing of Pat Robertson. He is not gone, for we know where he is. Let us be happy for heaven’s gain and pray peace over the loved ones he leaves behind. Thank you Pat, for paving the way for millions to know the love of God.”

Pastor Allen Jackson, World Outreach Church, Murfreesboro, Tenn.: “Pat Robertson was a courageous leader! His bold faith and visionary approach resulted in a legacy of CBN and Regents University. His gentle but determined strength was a voice of Biblical wisdom for us all.  He will be greatly missed.” {eoa}

Breaking News: Christian Broadcasting Legend Pat Robertson Dies at 93

Christian broadcasting giant Pat Robertson, who created the iconic Christian Broadcasting Network in 1960, died Thursday morning at his home in Virginia Beach, Virginia, at age 93.

Robertson was best known for hosting The 700 Club, the flagship program of his media ministry. He also founded a Christian university—Regent University in 1977—wrote several Christian books and began a legal advocacy group and an international ministry specializing in disaster relief.

CBN tweeted Thursday morning, “With great sadness, we announced that Dr. M.G. “Pat” Robertson has gone home to be with his Lord and Savior today, June 8, 2023. Thank you for your prayers for the Robertson family and the ministry of CBN at this time.

As reported by CBN News:

PatRobertsonbookcover“He expanded his political influence by bringing thousands of evangelicals into the electoral process through the founding of the Christian Coalition. He also created the American Center for Law and Justice with a mandate to protect religious freedoms.

“‘Pat always had this vision to go where a lot of people don’t go. When you do that, sometimes you’re criticized by people,'” Pastor Greg Laurie said. ‘He’s been a risk taker in the best sense of the word. A visionary. A dreamer. But someone whose message was the Gospel.'”

Robertson also ran for the presidency of the United States as a Republican in 1988.

In 2021, Robertson published his final book with Charisma Media titled, “I Have Walked with the Living God,” where he gave readers an inside look at his life and legacy, and shares about the power that dwells behind what’s visible. The book “lays bare Robertson’s deepest feelings about God, who brings miracles into the daily lives of those who trust Him.”

“I didn’t think of myself as much of a pioneer. I just knew that whatever the prejudices of the day, we were not going to submit to any of them. . .I believe the Bible had instructed that whether rich or poor, male or female, African American or white, we all were one in Christ Jesus.” – an excerpt from Robertson’s “I Have Walked With the Living God.”

Robertson also appeared on the cover of Charisma magazine multiple times.

Charisma Media Founder and CEO Stephen Strang paid this tribute to the broadcasting legend: “Pat Robertson will be remembered as a giant among other Christian leaders.

Kenneth Copeland Ministries posted this about Robertson on its Facebook page: “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Pat Robertson, longtime friend of Kenneth and Gloria Copeland, transitioned to heaven today, and these are the words we imagine he heard from Jesus the moment he entered into His presence. A pioneer in Christian television, Mr. Robertson’s life and ministry impacted millions of people the world over.”

Vineyard Senior Pastor Faces ‘Historic’ Spiritual Abuse Charges

Causeway Coast Vineyard officials have responded to allegations that its senior pastor, Alan Scott, has committed “historic” spiritual abuse toward the church’s staff and congregation.

Last month, The Roys Report released a story that former Vineyard staff accused Scott of “abuse, manipulation and lies” since taking over the leadership of the church in 2020.

Former Causeway Coast (then Anaheim Vineyard) College Pastor Cynthia Andrews told The Roys Report that Scott, with church attendance plummeting, had allegedly “instituted salvation quotas for staff with spreadsheets recording how many people key staff had led to Christ.”

Andrews told The Roys Report that Scott required her to spend more than half her work hours evangelizing and expected a conversation of three people an hour. Unable to meet the conversion quotas, Andrews said “she’d often stay at Walmart until late at night, trying to get people to pray a salvation prayer,” with her anxiety mounting by the day.

“I would spend hours praying, begging God to let me see people come to faith,” Andrews said. “I knew if I didn’t, Alan was going to be mad at me.”

Scott announced last spring that the flagship Vineyard Church would split from Vineyard USA, which has over 2,400 churches worldwide. The announcement prompted Vineyard leaders to call the departure “extreme betrayal.”

Causeway Coast Vineyard and Vineyard Churches UK and Ireland released a statement acknowledging that they had been made aware of concerns raised by people in the UK after the announcement regarding Vineyard Anaheim’s departure from the denomination and announced that an independent review is under way.

“We are deeply saddened to hear about historic concerns reported in the press … relating to Alan Scott’s time at Causeway Coast Vineyard,” the statement read. “We recognize the bravery it takes to speak up, and are grateful to those who have raised concerns. We are praying for those who have come forward in this difficult time. Causeway Coast Vineyard and Vineyard Churches UK and Ireland are committed to caring for and safeguarding those who attend and visit our churches.

“On being made aware of those concerns, CCV and VCUKI commissioned an independent review process run by an experienced third party. This process is nearing completion and we [will] comment more fully in the coming weeks.”

One of 11 former pastors, staff and volunteers from three Vineyard churches where Scott pastored, Andrews and others shared their stories of alleged abuse and manipulation with The Roys Report.

Others described the use of “loyalty tests” Scott would perform on staff, including scheduling last-minute meetings to see who was dedicated enough to “get a babysitter and show up.” These staff members said that Scott claimed he could see people’s hidden sin, judged staff according to their body type and blacklisted those he couldn’t control, saying they were blocking growth.”

In a lawsuit filed last November, former Vineyard Anaheim church and board members accused Scott of deceiving former board members in a premeditated play to steal the church property.

All of this comes at the same time when founder and former Hillsong Senior Pastor Brian Houston is battling allegations of sexual abuse within his former church in Australia. {eoa}

‘The Cross and the Switchblade’ Author Elizabeth Sherrill Dies at 95

Elizabeth Sherrill, who authored one of the most famous books in Christian literature history, “The Cross and the Switchblade” about evangelist David Wilkerson, died Saturday, May 20. She was 95.

Sherrill, along with her husband, John, who died in 2017, launched Chosen Books in 1970. Both were faithful followers of Christ and a servant to many.

Rush To Press labeled Sherrill as a “supremely gifted writer and editor.” She wrote more than 30 books and 2,000 articles throughout her lifetime, including “The Cross and the Switchblade”; “God’s Smuggler,” about Brother Andrew; and Return from Tomorrow about the life of George G. Ritchie.

She is also well known for co-writing Corrie ten Boom’s bestselling memoir, “The Hiding Place,” which was first published in 1971 and co-written with John Sherrill and Corrie herself. Rush To Press says that the book “continues to reach generations today, with sales surpassing 3.5 million copies.

Chosen Books, co-launched with Guideposts magazine editor Len LeSourd and author Catherine Marshall LeSourd, focused on charismatic, Spirit-led titles.

Chosen also published Chuck Colson’s “Born Again: What Really Happened to the Watergate Hatchetman.”

Chosen Books has made a tremendous impact on the Christian publishing industry.

“Chosen Books dramatically elevated the profile and the impact of Christian publishing,” Jeff Crosby, president and CEO of the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association, told Publishers Weekly. “Elizabeth’s gifts as a manuscript stylist, editor and publisher were enormous. She knew how to tell a story with power and with an economy of words, and the books she touched were brought to a mass market audience.

“I was privileged to chair ECPA’s recognition committee the year it awarded her and, posthumously, John Sherrill with our Kenneth N. Taylor Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018. And as a bookseller in the 1980s, I marveled at the way the books she touched and inspired readers toward belief.” {eoa}

ORU Celebrates 10 Years of Billy Wilson’s ‘Transformative Leadership’

Since Dr. Billy Wilson took office as Oral Roberts University’s fourth president in June 2013, the Christian university not only has continued its commitment to excellence in education, but it has seen a great deal of positive growth toward a bright future.

Wilson’s “unwavering commitment” to innovation and global engagement has positioned ORU as a leader of higher education not only in the Christian community but also across America. Wilson says he is profoundly appreciative of the dedicated community that has helped ORU achieve historic levels of enrollment, advancement and academic success.

“The past 10 years have been an extraordinary journey and launched the beginning of ORU’s global expansion,” Wilson says. “I am deeply humbled and grateful for all of those who have contributed their gifts, time and talent to ORU. This university is unlike any other university, with the best faculty in the world and staff who serve our students unselfishly.

“Our students come from all 50 states and around the world, drawn to our academic excellence and desiring to develop as whole leaders. In the last 10 years, ORU has made history; in the years to come, our students will continue to change the world.”

During Wilson’s tenure, ORU has invested over $170 million in new buildings and renovation. The university opened four new buildings debt-free, funded in part by the university’s $50 million 50th Anniversary campaign.

Those buildings include:

— The Global Learning Center—a 54,00-square-foot technology hub.

— The Niko Njotorahardjo Hall—a residence hall.

— A Nursing and Engineering Complex—a 100,000-square-foot venue.

— ONEOK Sports Complex—One of Tulsa’s top collegiate track and tennis facilities.

Wilson also launched the “Whole Leaders for the Whole World” campaign, a funding initiative to support new construction and scholarships. {eoa}

Joseph Z: 3 Theories About Recent UFO Sightings

In February, the U.S. shot down mystery objects that were rumored to be an alien spaceship, The Economic Times reported. The report says American fighter jets shot down four high-altitude objects in airspace above the U.S. and Canada starting from Feb. 4.

While the Feb. 4 spy balloon was linked to China, other three objects sighted over Michigan, Canada and Alaska are yet to be classified.

The founder of Joseph Z Ministries says the narrative about UFOs has “come back on the scene” with a lot of momentum, and that the narrative can lead to only one conclusion—deception.

“The alien-UFO thing, I’ve whittled it down to three things,” Joseph Z says. “And I’ve prayed about this. I’ve researched it and I’ve looked into it.

“What they (the media, conspiracy theorists) are doing is dumbing down the culture so much. You have so much social media that is brainwashing people by a short, one-minute clip, or 20-second clip or five-second clip. That’s training people to think a certain way. Hollywood has trained people to think a certain way.”

There are explanations for the UFOs, Joseph Z says, and he believes, from what he derives from Scripture, there are three things that “aliens are.”

“The first one I think it could be is a strange technology that is by governmental entities or foreign adversaries, or unknown technology origins that are totally of this earth, totally of humanity. It’s technology we don’t fully have a grasp on and yet we can see it around our skies; that we can take photos of and we can empirically observe it.

“The second one I believe could be happening is a fake alien scenario—augmented reality stuff, projections in the sky or things that many have heard of like Project Blue Beam, where they blast things up in the sky like the Spider Man movie. … It’s drones projecting an image that had a lot of reality behind that image. I believe that is a precursor to a Project Blue Beam type of thing.

Project Blue Beam is a long-standing but unproven conspiracy theory first talked about by Canadian investigative journalist Serge Monast in the mid-1990s. The theory has resurfaced again, claiming the project was created by agents of the Pentagon and NASA.

“You see drones that go into the sky and they can write things in the air and do all kinds of amazing things, that’s what the public sees,” Joseph Z says. “And why would they do that? Because whoever controls the narrative can unite the world under what they want. I think there’s a truth in that, that there will be more revealed or concealed to deceive the masses upon either the rapture or something else.”

It’s a common movie theme. Think “Independence Day,” a totally fictional but popular film.

“I enjoy the entertainment, and it is a part of our culture that people think about,” Joseph Z says. “Can you imagine if we used that for the gospel?”

The third and final theory, Joseph Z says, is the most nefarious and carries the most weight and deserves a great deal of conversation.

“It’s the fallen angel narrative that broke out in Genesis 6, where the sons of God, these angels, these watchers, came down and cohabitated with women,” he says. “That is one of two things, either sexual relations and they created monster people like Goliath called the Nephilim, or they have altered women’s DNA to create things and they mess with animals, all this stuff. ”

Joseph Z, a prophetic seer, received a prophetic word from the Lord to write his book, “Servants of Fire: Secrets of the Unseen War and Angels Fighting for You,” where he says he deals with “fallen angel technology” and fallen angels, what their real purpose is and why they are trying to counterfeit the gospel.

“Fallen angels want to deceive, and I believe they have the ability to understand technology and multiple dimensions,” Joseph Z says. “That’s why you can see these alien craft appearing and disappearing. … You’ve got these experts that do not know God and saying it’s massless, it’s obviously from another planet or universe. Really, it just goes into this deception.”

Joseph Z says we will continue to see more and more disclosure on UFOs, to the point where video and graphics become so clear that they become believable and people will begin to say that “we are not alone in the universe.”

“They will completely bring out disclosure until they finally reveal the truth,” he says. “And the truth they will bring out is the deception that says ‘we are your creators,’ we planted you here, we did all of it. It all goes back to Genesis 6. It is a lying scenario, by fallen angels rebelling against God and they are working for Lucifer.

“They want to begin to deceive the masses to lead people away from Jesus. But the answer is the same. Jesus Christ is Lord.” {eoa}

During Sermon, Parishioner Confronts Priest Who Denounced LGBTQ Movement

A transgender person who claims to be a Christian confronted an Ohio Catholic priest during his sermon last Sunday after the priest denounced an LGBTQ+ nonprofit group, further fanning the flames in an already intense culture war raging in America.

June is Pride Month, and the sparks are already flying in only its second day. With conservatives boycotting businesses such as Target, Bud Light and Kohl’s—with the former two losing billions of dollars for recent flamboyant pride ad campaigns—St. Raphael Parish Priest Timothy W. Gareau spoke out against the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence Sunday during his sermon, reported. Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence is a pro-LGBTQ non-profit organization in California comprised of an “order of queer and trans nuns.”

The group recently received a community hero award from the Los Angeles Dodgers and was invited to the team’s LGBTQ+ Pride Night this month.

Garreau spoke his mind clearly about the cultural battle.

“Look at the Los Angeles Dodgers,” he said. “Look what’s happening. Defaming the name of Jesus Christ. Defaming the name of every Christian here on earth. It just burns a hole in my heart, angers me and embitters me. And it should you.

“I don’t want to give these people a name,” he said. “I don’t want to give them that much credit. But it’s happening. And it’s being affirmed. I want to cry. But we have the Spirit. We have theSpirit of the living God, who is upon is, who is with us, who is among us and within us.”

The report said Garreau didn’t specifically mention the Sisters of Perpetual Induglence, but what he said upset his parishioner, and she interrupted the Mass and approached the altar, speaking out against Garreau’s criticism.

Later, police were called to incident outside the house of worship, reported.

The parishioner, whom said goes by the name of “Avery,” said during her speech that “Queer and trans people also carry the Holy Spirit, and that was really painful to hear. That was really hurtful.

“You baptized me,” she said. “I carry the Holy Spirit within me. I know you’re talking about the Sisters of Indulgence, and I understand that from the outside it looks like they are defaming the Catholic faith. There are queer children here. The spirit of God moves through all people.”

Initially after receiving backlash for their decision, the Dodgers retracted the Community Hero Award and withdrew the invitation to attend the team’s Pride Night on June 16. Last week, however, the Dodgers apologized and reinvited the group and reinstated the award.

Many parishioners attending the service in Bay Village Sunday said they would not be returning to the church following Garreau’s sermon.

In a statement, the diocese said people who disagree with the church’s teachings are free to do so, but “are not free to disrupt the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass to express their opinion.” {eoa}

Suddenly Surrounded by Muslims, Jonathan Cahn Boldly Speaks God’s Truth

Some time  ago, Jonathan Cahn traveled to Nigeria and was on his way to a crusade to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.

His guide had stopped the car and got out, and Cahn had no idea of where he went. Suddenly, Cahn says in this video (begin at 12:20 mark), that the car in which he was riding became surrounded by a group of Muslims. He had no idea of what to think about the situation.

He shares his story:

“They’re looking at me and, I don’t know, maybe I look Jewish,” he laughed. “Because they said, ‘Are you a Hebrew?’ I said, ‘yes I am.’

“They asked me, ‘what do you think of Muhammad? What do you think of Islam?’ I said, ‘Islam says that Jesus is the Messiah.’ So, if Jesus is the Messiah, and it says He’s coming again, then you had better listen to what Jesus says. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth and the life, and you cannot have salvation without Him.’

“I said that knowing that could be my last sermon.

“I didn’t know what was going to happen, but the guide came back. Thank God he came back. We started to pull away, and they said, ‘Wait, stop!’ I’m thinking, ‘here were go.’

Cahn Josiah“One of the men said, ‘Don’t leave without giving us a blessing. Give us a Hebrew blessing,’ and they all bowed their heads. I prayed a blessing and I prayed that they would find the Lord.”

Cahn says he doesn’t know if that happened, but that he hoped the words he spoke would sink in and that God would change their hearts.

“In Islam, they actually say, ‘Jesus is the Messiah,’ but they don’t understand what that means and that He’s coming again,” Cahn says. “That’s an altar, a connection. The Orthodox Jew believes in Messiah. He believes in the Scriptures and that’s a connection. They yearn for Messiah and that’s a connection.

“The Hindu and the Buddhist want to be one with God, but you have to show them how to become one with God. Atheism is close to agnosticism. And Gnosticism is close to the word for the unknown God and the altar of the unknown God. They all have it because He set eternity in their hearts.

“Even Satan worshippers have an altar that is meant for God. Some of you were in the occult, but God used it because you were searching for God. I think about Messiah. What did he do? He didn’t condemn us. He became like us, He connected with us and He met us where we were.”
