Germany Ignores Horror of Exploiting Children

In an indefensible, morally reprehensible ruling, Germany has drastically reduced the legal consequences of child pornography. There is no universe in which such a ruling can be justified. The very thought of it is horrible.

As reported on Reduux, “Germany’s Parliament (Bundestag) has received the votes necessary to remove a section of the Criminal Code which made the possession of child sexual abuse materials a felony crime. Once the bill, passed last Thursday, comes into effect, minimum sentences for the possession of child pornography will be reduced, and the offense will be downgraded to a misdemeanor.”

To be specific, “the bill stipulates that ‘possession and acquisition should be punishable with a minimum penalty of three months’ imprisonment, and distribution with a minimum penalty of six months’ imprisonment, and distribution with a minimum penalty of six months’ imprisonment. The offenses regulated in Section 184b of the Criminal Code are therefore classified as misdemeanors and not as crimes.’”

In a recent service held at Global Vision Bible Church in Mount Juliet, Tennessee, Pastor Greg Locke and his wife Tai were both prayed over and installed as apostles to the world.

The commission was led by Pastor Malachi O’Brien of The Church at Pleasant Ridge in Harrisonville, Missouri, and they were joined by Pastor Mike Signorelli of V1 Church in New York City through a video message.

Mike Winger Says Benny Hinn Is Not a Christian During Interview With Charisma

Christian YouTuber Mike Winger, an ordained pastor who is not currently shepherding a church, recently spoke with Charisma Media’s John Matarazzo about his four-hour video titled “The Victims of Benny Hinn: 30 years of Spiritual Deception.”

Seventeen days after posting his viral video, Winger shared in a separate video that Hinn was attempting to get the previous video, which has over 900,000 views, removed from YouTube. In the four-hour video, Winger argued that Hinn was financially and spiritually abusive throughout his years of ministry.

Winger’s interview with Charisma comes after the outlet posted a two-part interview with Hinn. Matarazzo said, “We’re trying to platform voices the best way that we can as we see God moving.

Paul Spoke in Tongues—So Why Are We Afraid of This Gift?

Two years ago when I was preaching at a church in Florida, a boy named Roczen was filled with the Holy Spirit during a revival service. He was only about 5 years old. But a week later he felt such boldness that he asked his pastor if he could pray for the entire church. When he prayed for the congregation from the stage, several other people were filled with the Holy Spirit.

Roczen is a regular boy who loves to play with his Matchbox cars and video games. But he has a close relationship with Jesus, and he regularly prays in his prayer language. This weekend I watched as Roczen laid hands on my 12-year-old grandson and prayed for him to be filled with the Holy Spirit.

There are many Christians today who are skeptical about the gift of speaking in tongues because it has never been a part of their experience. And other Christians teach that speaking in tongues is no longer a valid spiritual gift for today—even though they acknowledged that the apostle Paul had this gift and that he told his disciples in Corinth not to forbid using it.

California Church’s Statewide Revival Sees 30,000 Baptisms

The outpouring of God’s spirit is here.

A California church, Oceans Church, is no stranger to holding mass baptisms. According to the Washington Times, the church held a 2023 initiative called “Baptize SoCal” where 4,166 people where baptized at Pirates Cove in Newport Beach.

Now, the church made its goal to baptize 30,000 people this past Pentecost Sunday with “Baptize California” in hopes of seeing a “Baptize America” movement take place next summer.

Expect the Unexpected When God Brings Revival in New Ways

An important part of every believer’s life should be expectancy and openness for God to do a new thing. The body of Christ desperately needs revival and reformation. By and large, we have drifted astray from God’s original design: the Acts church.

 It’s rare to see vessels walking in the power of God as the first apostles did. It’s rare to see apostles and prophets accepted and operating in their important role to equip, impart and lead. These aspects of the Acts church are integral to the church today as Jesus says “the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power” (1 Cor. 4:20, MEV).

The rise of artificial intelligence (AI) has brought with it lively conversations about new technological possibilities, warnings and concerns over potential abuses and misuses.

Dr. John Plake, chief program officer at the American Bible Society, told CBN News his organization set out in its annual “State of the Bible” survey to “look at this unique angle on the Bible and technology.”

The American Bible Society frequently asks specific questions about the intersections of faith and technology, but with the AI discussion rapidly expanding in recent months, researchers decided to ask people a series of positive and negative questions about the burgeoning tool.

“We looked at things like, ‘Can AI be relied on for moral reasoning?’ or, ‘Would you be against AI helping your pastor to prepare his sermon or perhaps preparing the sermon and your pastor just delivering it?’—things like that,” Plake said. “We asked, ‘Do you believe that AI goes against biblical teaching?'”

The “State of the Bible” report then broke down the results by generation and level of Scripture engagement, and the survey yielded some fascinating findings.

“People who are more engaged with Scripture tend to be more skeptical of artificial intelligence,” Plake said. “And I think part of that is that they’re tuned into moral hazards that come about when we think about machines doing our thinking for us.”

Scripture-engaged respondents were less optimistic about AI’s future benefits, less likely to believe it aids in moral reasoning, and less likely to see it as enriching spiritual practices or promoting “spiritual health.”

It’s not just Christians who are cautious, though. The general public seems overwhelmingly unsure of what the future holds and appears to be more driven by fear than excitement over what’s to come.

The results found 68% of the public disagreed with the idea AI could “promote spiritual health” and 58% also disagreed when asked if it could “aid in moral reasoning.”

Newly released dashcam footage of an accident that left a massive semitruck dangling from a bridge earlier this year is going viral—and for good reason.

Fortunately, Thomas wasn’t injured in the astonishing event. She spoke out this week about what unfolded that day, how she believes God heard her prayers and how she’s faring.

“Sometimes you pray, and I’m guilty of this: I pray, and I don’t think God is listening,” she told WHAS-TV. “But He was that day.”

Her dad, Marc Thomas, told the outlet he, too, believes the Lord was watching over her.

“It didn’t really hit me until I looked over to my right [while crossing the Kennedy Bridge] and I’d seen that equipment hanging into the air,” he said. “That [rescue] was nothing but God displaying Himself to me.”

Sydney Thomas explained what led the truck to go off the bridge, noting the suspension on the vehicle went out and she lost total control—a shocking horror that left her dangling 100 feet over the Ohio River, as WHAS-TV noted.

“When I went through the railing, I was like, ‘Wow, this is a crazy way to die,'” she said, noting she really believed her life would come to an end.

Thomas hung for 40 minutes until firefighters were able to use a crane to lift someone down to reach her. She remained still the whole time, fearing movement would send the truck plummeting into the water.

Louisville firefighter Bryce Carden soon appeared at her window mid-air latched to a harness and hanging from the crane. He asked if he could pray with her – and the two proceeded to invoke the Lord.

“She was praying a lot,” Carden told WHAS-TV. “And I prayed with her.”
