Your Supernatural Key to Connection With God

Do you need to get in touch with God? Do you feel frustrated because it seems like He is out of your reach? Did you realize that there is a way to connect with Him? It’s by faith, and it’s your faith that grabs hold of His undivided attention. Faith is your contact point with God. Even if you think your faith is little faith, all it takes is faith the size of a mustard seed and the mountains will move. Jesus says, “Because of your unbelief. For truly I say to you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. And nothing will be impossible for you” (Matt. 17:20).

Faith is all about trust, and trusting in the right things in life. Proverbs 3:5-6 says it like this: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.” Mark 11:22–24 has this to say about faith and whom to have faith in:

Have faith in God. For truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you will receive them, and you will have them.

Faith is so pleasing to God that it stops all of heaven, so to speak. It grabs His attention and causes Him to stop and hear your plea. There isn’t anything more pleasing to Him then to hear you speak to Him in His language: faith.

Let’s consider this throughout the story of Moses and the Israelites. There was only one Moses and multitudes of Israelites, and it was the faith of Moses that caused God to move on the behalf of the people. They all whined and complained because things weren’t happening like they were accustomed to seeing them happening from day to day. But God desired His people to trust Him, and He effectively pulled the rug out from under them time and time again and did things in a new and supernatural way.

Consider all the ways He met their needs: He led them by a cloud by day, a pillar of fire in the night; He rained down fresh bread every morning; and He sent them fresh meat to eat too. He gave them water from a rock. As they wandered in the desert for 40 years, their shoes did not wear out, neither did their clothes. He made a way of escape for them by parting the Red Sea. The list of supernatural ways God provided for them is amazing. If it weren’t for Moses’ faith to lead them, I’m not sure what would or would not have happened, but Moses learned to trust in God and in all His ways, and so should we.

So whatever danger you are facing, whatever obstacle is standing in your way, or whatever the need is you have a unique way to connect with God—your faith. And in the beginning, your faith may seem insignificant, but the more you exercise it, the stronger and more powerful it becomes. So go ahead, trust God and not your feelings or human reasoning or scientific findings. Boldly trust God. The bolder the faith in Him, the more quickly you capture His attention.

Faith doesn’t bawl and squall about what it doesn’t have or doesn’t see. That’s not faith, that’s doubt and unbelief, and that does not get His attention, nor is it well-pleasing to Him. Faith goes boldly before His throne of grace; it calls things that are not as though they are already done. It trusts in God, and not in circumstances or in the ways and wisdom of the world, but only in God.

Father God,

We can see how we have missed it in the area of faith time and time again. But we desire to make the necessary changes in our lives. No matter how difficult it is, we will put our trust in You and only in You from this day forward. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, amen and amen. {eoa}

Your Ps. 23 Way to Supercharge Your Faith as You Begin 2019

Did I ever tell you about the Judean hills my husband and I saw outside of Jerusalem? They came with real live Bedouins leading sheep.

“See those circles?” our guide said. Yes, we had noticed the spirals going around each hill and had wondered about the unique geology. “Those are paths that have been worn over the years by shepherds leading their sheep. When you read Psalm 23:3 and hear David say that God leads him in paths of righteousness, in the Hebrew, it really says in ‘circles’ of righteousness. The shepherds don’t lead the sheep straight up the hillside; they slowly wind them around and around and up.”

We marveled at this.

Continuous circles on flat trails, with a very slow, almost imperceptible climb toward the top. This is how God leads His people toward all that is right and good.

Turn your calendar to the new year, and what do you anticipate? I’ve been struggling with fear, to be honest. All of the “what ifs” have been slamming me in the middle of the night, but as I’ve called out to the Lord, He has been teaching me and leading me out of fear and into wonderful new thoughts of hope, enjoyment of His presence and anticipation of goodness for the year.

This year is going to be a climb, but the Lord will carefully lead us up, up, up.

Two resources are helping me right now, and I want to recommend them to you. The first is Dallas Willard’s book, Life Without Lack: Living in the Fullness of Psalm 23. I never even got past the title before I was encouraged and intrigued about what this year could be like if I were to believe Psalm 23.

The second resource is a new discovery, found at . They’ve made an incredible journal and record-keeping book called Growth Book: The Roadmap and Footprint of Your Spiritual Journal. When you invest in something like this, you’re saying to the Lord, “I’m going to seek You with all my heart this year. I expect You to do good things in my life. I expect You to walk with me and talk to me and guide me through every day. I expect the abundant life, and I’m going to document it as it unfolds.”

What we need to do is to supercharge our belief on the front end of a new year.

Yes, we believe we have a good Shepherd.

Yes, we believe He will circle us around to righteousness.

Yes, we believe He will be with us, watching out for us all along the way.

Time to get our minds going in the right direction by reading and memorizing and studying God’s Word. We are going somewhere good. {eoa}

How One Woman’s Faith-Filled Words Saved Another From the Spirit of Suicide

Your gift of faith, no matter the measure—even if it is the size of a mustard seed— when actively shared with others by your faith-filled words and prayers, can make the difference. Your gift of faith can actually save a life.

I received this letter this week from a dear woman who was fighting with a spirit of suicide, but something miraculous happened, and it started by words and prayers of faith. May this personal letter that I am sharing with you touch your heart and open your spiritual eyes to understand the importance of your faith-filled words. (Editor’s note: This is the woman’s unedited letter.)

Earlier this week I wrote out a suicide letter and spent a while contemplating after which I tore the pages form the notepad and destroyed them. As I did your name was written on the page beneath the ones I tore out as I had watched you on Sid Roth and had written along with it the confessions for healing that you spoke, I had been having rough sleep due to the mental anguish and in a lot of physical pain also and when I eventually fell asleep that night I woke from a dream in which I was being healed. I’ll never forget how I woke as my dog sat beside me on the bed as if she were trying to keep me safe. I was still in a lot of pain and decided to go and research your name and buy a book on Amazon, but I couldn’t decide which one so I found your Youtube channels and watched almost all of the videos there, I felt the very tangible power of the Holy Spirit in your words and I slept for almost 12 full hours the next night and in much less pain. As I started reading DARE to Believe on my Kindle the torment began to ease and I found the exercises so easy to follow. I know I have a lot more healing to do but I feel I have the right instruction manual and feel more positive that I can do this. When I read the part about accepting Jesus as my Lord and Savior I didn’t just read it with my mind, I felt every cell in my body accepting Him giving life to my bones. I just wanted to thank you for sharing your gift with us. I believe my faith is being restored along with my physical body and with it my mind is being renewed, and hopefully my family and life and relationships too. By faith in Jesus’ name, thank you.

My response to this dear woman.

In the name of Jesus, I release the spirit of peace over you, over your mind and emotions that they are healed and made whole. Jesus loves you with an unconditional love. He is always for you and never against you. There isn’t anything you can do to earn His love, and there isn’t anything you can do to lose His love for you. He loves you whether you love Him or not. We have the promise in His Word that His precious thoughts, not just thoughts, but precious ones outnumber the sands of this earth.

I am so thankful to Jesus that you are alive.

God bless you,
Becky {eoa}

Moving From Vision to Your Divine Destiny in 2019

Every year since 2013, God has given me a word for the year. The word for 2018 was “humility.” That word has come alive in a soft and gentle way for me this year and has given me an even more solid foundation to go forward into 2019. In 2019, God is changing things up giving me three words. This will be a year of deeper clarity as I learn more about vision, insight and discernment.

When He gave me these three words, I assumed one of them was the word and others were descriptive of that one. However, the more I study these words, the more I realize they define a process. Throughout this year I hope to have much more clarity about this process, but here is where I am starting.

Vision

This is where we must start. “Where there is no vision, the people perish,” (Prov. 29:18). It stands to reason, then, that vision is imperative.

When we hear the word “vision,” we immediately think of what we can see with our eyes. We think in physical terms. However Solomon wasn’t talking about how good our eyesight is. He was talking about how good our perception, dream or desire is. He was talking about what we can see happening that hasn’t happened yet.

When we imagine what we dream of happening, it has a greater probability of coming to fruition. Sometimes God shows us dreams of what He sees in our future. They may come in the form of symbols or numbers or an out-and-out picture of what He wants us to know is in our future.

Vision is a God-given ability to see or perceive what will happen. Don’t discount your God-given dreams. They are given to you for a reason.

Insight

“Insight” is one of those words I’ve really never thought much about. However all through the Bible, God tells us of insight’s great worth.

Solomon was wiser than anyone else. That’s because “God gave Solomon wisdom and very great insight, and a breadth of understanding as measureless as the sand on the seashore” (1 Kings 4:29, NIV).

In Proverbs, Solomon tells us how instrumental insight is in our life and journey with God. “The purposes of a person’s heart are deep waters, but one who has insight draws them out” (Prov. 20:5). “There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the Lord” (Prov. 21:30).

Paul chimes in. “This is my prayer, that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight” (Phil. 1:9).

So what is insight and how is it different from vision? If vision is the what, insight is the why. If we have insight into why we are to work with God to accomplish a task, we are more likely to find a way to make it happen.

Insight must come from God. Paul tells Timothy, “Reflect on what I am saying for the Lord will give you insight into all this” (2 Tim. 2:7).

Without insight a vision will just stay a dream. We need insight to know why our vision must happen.

Discernment

Discernment means to perceive what must happen and when it must happen. It also involves the ability to judge well whether we are doing something we should be doing or not.

Discernment keeps us in line with God’s heart. It is the key ingredient in this process of following God. We cannot follow God if we don’t know God’s heart. Because of this, making sure we have surrendered our will to God’s is paramount. If the kingdom of you is still on the throne of your heart, discernment will not be active in your life.

Discernment is built by spending time in prayer, not talking so much as listening to understand more of what God desires. It’s in that space that peace will replace confusion. Discernment operates in the midst of peace.

Hosea gives the people a list of things they need to do in order to follow God. Then He says, “Whoever is wise, let him understand these things; whoever prudent, let him know them. For the ways of the Lord are right, and the just will walk in them; but the transgressors stumble in them” (Hos. 14:9, MEV).

Discernment gives us the guidance, assurance and peace we need to go forward in doing what God is showing us to do.

Journey

This is another way of looking at my journey and yours. On my journey, God clearly showed me that I not only needed to lose weight, but that I could lose weight. I couldn’t see it clearly until I happened to be going through old pictures and saw one of me in my wedding dress. It was a time when I was 250 pounds lighter than I was that day. That picture became a concrete vision of what I wanted to happen.

Later when a doctor diagnosed me with congestive heart failure and gave me five years to live unless I lost weight and kept it off, I got insight into why this had to happen soon. My daughter was 9. She would have been 14 in five years. I wanted to be there for all the great things that would happen in her life. I wanted to be there on graduation days and her wedding day. I wanted to be there for heron the special days in her life. But I also wanted to experience them for myself.

With vision and insight, I gained greater clarity, but it was through discernment of how to walk out this journey myself that I was able to lose 250 pounds and keep it off. I was able to work with God to change my habits, develop my forever lifestyle change plan, work through my emotional baggage and begin to embrace all that God has for my destiny.

In the Year 2019

I’m not sure what this year holds for me. I know, though, these three words will be added to how I teach and lead. From experience I know that God will reveal to me more than I ever wanted to know about these three words.

Let’s go forward together! {eoa}

How to Stop Making Sickness Your Idol

Have we idolized the sickness? Has it become all-powerful to us? Has it become the center of our lives? Is it the controller of all we say and do? It is the center of every message we give? Do our words glorify Jesus as the healer of all, including this sickness, or do they insinuate this sickness is more powerful than Jesus? I know these are hard questions to ask ourselves, but in order to dethrone this sickness we need to know what we are glorifying.

Have we become a walking billboard for advertising the disease? Are we its new poster child? Are we walking down the catwalk modeling the disease for the world to see? Have we turned the spotlight onto the sickness? Are we highlighting the strength of this disease with every breath that we breathe?

I don’t think we set out to idolize the sickness. I think it sneaks into position, and before we know it, we bow down to it and comply to its every demand. Instead, we should take our stand and by a faith-filled command, curse it and bind it back to the land from where it came: the pit of hell. Take hold of our spiritual claim, the redemptive power of the blood to deliver and heal us from these filthy chains that try to bind us. It’s time to set ourselves free from this golden calf of sickness and disease.

We need to stop promulgating a false doctrine that says God gave this disease to us. This message goes against the Word of God, and devalues the blood that Jesus shed for us at the whipping post so that we could be healed from sickness and disease. With every fiber of His precious being He shed His blood for our healing.

“But [in fact] He has borne our griefs, and He has carried our sorrows and pains; yet we [ignorantly] assumed that He was stricken, struck down by God and degraded and humiliated [by Him]. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was crushed for our wickedness [our sin, our injustice, our wrongdoing];

The punishment [required] for our well-being fell on Him, and by His stripes (wounds) we are healed (Isa. 53:4-5, AMP).

Again we have a choice to make. Are we willing to admit and repent of all our doubt and unbelief to our Healer, Jesus? Or will we hold onto our right to a false doctrine and glorify this sickness? Are we ready to dethrone this disease in our lives? And are we going to lift up Jesus higher and place Him, our healer on the throne of our hearts, and cleanse our temples from the filth of this disease?

“My soul magnifies and exalts the Lord, and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior. “For He who is mighty has done great things for me; and holy is His name [to be worshiped in His purity, majesty, and glory]” (Luke 1:46-47,49, AMP).

I believe many of us are ready and willing to dethrone sickness this day. Let’s pray.

In the name of Jesus, I repent for making this disease an idol in my life. I am willing to get rid of this golden calf that I have been glorifying unknowingly. Sickness and disease, I curse the power you have had over me. I command you to leave my temple. I only have room for one in my heart, and it’s Jesus, my Savior, my Redeemer, my Healer and my Lord. He is the one I surrender to, and bow down and worship. From this day forward, Jesus is the center of my life. He is the one I will glorify, and He is the all-powerful one for me. Thank You, Holy Spirit, for revealing to me how I created a golden calf called sickness and disease in my life, and now with the power of my faith-filled words in the right thing, the power of Your blood, I dethrone this sickness and this disease in my life. I will search Your Word, and allow it to light the pathway for my healing in You. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray in faith, amen and amen. {eoa}

How the End of Christmas Can Mark Your Powerful New Beginning

Christmas is my favorite holiday. Even this year, as I adjust to missing a piece of my heart, I still love Christmas.

Sappy movies with happy-ever-after endings.

Hectic schedules punctuated by peaceful moments listening to Christmas carols in the subdued light of the Christmas tree.

Receiving cards from people I haven’t talked to all year and reconnecting as I read their Christmas notes and updates.

Most of all, celebrating the reason for the season—the miracle of God becoming human to enable humans to become sons and daughters of God.

So the days after Dec. 25 had traditionally been a letdown for me. Christmas trees dumped on the curb, shreds of tinsel still clinging precariously to their branches. Bright lights unplugged. Traditional carols of yesteryear pushed aside in favor of contemporary songs.

Worst of all, the change of perspective fueled the letdown. From the heaven-sent Christ child to earthbound cares. From music and lights to bills and worries. And from silent nights to discordant days.

In many ways, the week after Christmas signifies the end. The end of the Christmas season. The imminent end of the year. And for me, this year, the end of a year marking my greatest loss.

But it’s not the end. The day after Christmas is a beginning.

The beginning of the time God stepped into His creation. A cradle leading to a cross. The beginning of our salvation, when a life was born for the purpose of death. A death that means life for you and me if we choose to receive it.

Strip the tinsel and needles from the Christmas tree, and we’re left with a different kind of tree. Bare wood, just as the cross Jesus hung on was bare wood. Several New Testament verses speak of Jesus on the cross. In these verses the word for “cross” actually comes from the Greek word for “wood.” Some translations use the word “tree” (Acts 5:30; 10:39; 13:29; Gal. 3:13; I Peter 2:24).

No, Dec. 26 is not the end of Christmas. It’s the beginning of Immanuel, “God with us.” It’s the beginning of the opportunity for an intimate relationship with the one who not only created us, but sent His Son, Jesus, to die for us. It’s the beginning of a chance to be and have all God intended for us.

Christmas letdown? Not anymore! {eoa}

How You Can Move From Chaos Into Celebrating the True Gift of the Christmas Season

More than ever before, our nation feels divided, torn in little pieces and pockets of what each of us wants. At the end of the day, it is all about what we feel we need for ourselves and our families.

Most of the prayer requests I get on my Facebook page have to do with these two basic issues: things we need and things those in our families need. Here are just a few from this week: healing from cancer, financial need, deliverance, good reports from the doctor, wayward children, raising grandchildren, educational needs, jobs, and emotional and mental stability.

In the requests posted this last Sunday, I noticed a remarkable thread. Every person was asking God, entreating God, to reveal Himself in some profound way in their lives.

Emmanuel

God, though, has already done that. Christmas is the time when we celebrate the fact that God revealed Himself to us in an unusual way. He became Emmanuel, God with us, Jesus who is like us, the Holy Spirit who is as close to us as our own skin. He came as a baby in a used, dirty, smelly back-barn shed. He came in a lowly manner so we could one day be exalted as God’s own children, should we choose to do that.

We celebrate this time of the year because God in His infinite wisdom sent us the only gift we need. This gift was a game-changer. His name was and is Jesus!

This wasn’t just a nice idea to placate a people who were fighting for a way to God. This gift was the fulfillment of God’s plan to make a way to save His people from themselves.

I don’t know about you, but sometimes I get so caught up in what I want that I have a hard time asking, knowing and seeing what God has already given me. He’s given me a way to live beyond my human existence and tap into a realm that I don’t understand but I know is there.

God tells us in Psalm 139 that He saw us before we were born. Who were we before we were born? We existed in spirit. Then God made all the physical parts of us in order for our spirits to inhibit that very human body.

Our Future

God knows our future. He’s already seen it. He gives us choices, but as the omni-present God He knows what choice we will choose. He gave us free-will and He will not intervene in path our choices take us. But He will lead us if we ask and allow Him to.

“You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in Your book,” (Psalm 139:16a, NLT). In the midst of the beautiful but chaotic hustle and bustle of Christmas I ask for but one gift this year: the gift of insight. I want the capacity to gain a deep, intuitive understanding of God.

I want the insight to be aware of where God is at work and to see the underlying truths God is revealing through history happening today.

I thank You, God, for the gift of Jesus, who lived in a human body and understands our physical condition better than we do ourselves.

Give us spiritual insight in how to do our small part in mending our ripped and torn world. Help us crave Your discernment regarding our words and actions every day. Are we tearing others apart by our words, or are we being a part of God’s restorative work in the world today?

Oh, God, reveal Your motivations to us in this very minute. May Your motives and intentions become the very reason we exist here on earth today. Help us be a part of mending rather than tearing. {eoa}

Exiting ‘Today,’ Kathie Lee Gifford Leaves Legacy of Faith

Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb greet audiences across the nation every morning to discuss the latest news, trends and interview special guests on the Today show. However, that will soon change. On a recent episode of Today, Gifford made what she called a “bittersweet” announcement.

After almost 11 years, Gifford announced that she’s leaving Today. She humorously explained, “I’ve been in this business 120 years and never worked with a more beautiful—more beautiful—group of people, who work every day for four hours of live television, five days a week.”

Gifford treasures her time on Today in a very special way as she cultivated a lifelong friend in her co-host, Hoda Kotb. She spoke of Kotb’s kindness, saying, “I’m grateful to God for you.” Gifford spoke truth from her heart as she continued, “God’s used me in your life every bit as much as He’s used me in yours, sweetie.”

Gaining Supernatural Access to Your Christmas Miracle

Are you in need of a miracle? There’s no better time than Christmas to receive your miraculous gift from God. The events that surround the birth of our Savior are so miraculous in every way imaginable—and then some. No matter the need you are facing, you can find hope for your miracle in the historical events of Jesus’ birth.

Let’s look at some of these events and see how they can impact our lives today.

Are you struggling with an impossible situation? Many people are today. We read about two very important characters in the Christmas story who were a childless couple, Elizabeth and her husband and priest, Zachariah. Despite Elizabeth’s barrenness and the fact that they were both advanced in age, they conceived a promised child: John, whom we come to know as John the Baptist. As it says in Luke 1:37, “with God nothing will be impossible” (see Luke 1:13-57). Regardless of the impossible situation you are facing, whether it be infertility or another situation, always remember with God all things, not some things, but all things are possible: “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes” (Mark 9:23).

Are you in need of divine favor? Mary received favor, supernatural favor from God in that she was the chosen vessel to birth the Christ child into this world. In Luke 1:28, her favor is announced, “Greetings, you who are highly favored. The Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women.” But did you realize that you too have God’s favor resting upon you? Psalm 5:12 says concerning God’s favor, “For You, Lord, will bless the righteous; You surround him with favor like a shield.”

Could you use some real reassurance concerning your calling? Mary continues to receive this reassurance about all that she has heard the Lord say to her. Let’s see the first confirmation recorded after this angelic visitation from Gabriel. Luke 1:41-45 says:

When Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the baby leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. She spoke out with a loud voice, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! But why is this granted to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? Indeed, as soon as the sound of your greeting came to my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy. Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a completion to those things which were told her by the Lord” (Luke 1:41-45).

And Romans 8:31 gives a great message of reassurance for today, “What then shall we then say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”

Are you in need of a message directly from heaven? People all around the world are receiving angelic visitations with messages from heaven, just like the people we read about in the Christmas story. The shepherds were visited by one angel with an evangelistic message:

“Listen! Do not fear. For I bring you good news of great joy, which will be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the City of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” … Suddenly there was with the angel a company of the heavenly host praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, and good will toward men” (Luke 2:10b-14).

And Hebrews 1:14 teaches us concerning angels, “Are they not all ministering spirits sent out to minister to those who will inherit salvation?”

Perhaps you need supernatural direction. The wise men were given the star of Bethlehem to lead them on a spiritual journey that led them to Jesus. Matthew 2:1-2 says:

Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, wise men came from the east to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is He who was born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the east and have come to worship Him.”

Do you know that you have been given a spiritual compass that is full of supernatural wisdom to give you direction for your daily living? It’s called the Word of God. Psalm 119:105 tells us about the teachings of the Bible, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Hebrews 4:12 tells us, “For the word of God is alive, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intents of the heart.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 says concerning the Word of God, “All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

If you will learn to listen and heed the voice of God, He will protect you from the evil plans of the enemy today. We read in Matthew 2:13 how an angel appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Arise, take the young Child and His mother, and escape to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word. For Herod will seek the young Child to kill Him.” And for us today, 2 Thessalonians 3:3 holds a promise of protection, “But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.”

We can even find the Father’s supernatural provision for our families in the Christmas story in the example of the gifts of Magi as they present their gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh (see Matt. 2:11). God knows what we have need of, and His Word tells us in Matthew 6:33, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be given to you.”

Whatever the need or concern in your life, there is a miracle from Jesus for you this Christmas. Reach out to Him and then believe and receive. {eoa}
