Has the Pandemic Shaken Your Faith? Check Out These Life-Giving Truths

This past year, more than perhaps any other, has challenged people’s faith. Our world and national issues became personal as hundreds of thousands faced job loss, income disruption and all types of family turmoil. And out of that tumult, people are looking for answers.

Evangelist, apostle and author Pamela Christian wants to help people find those answers because she’s seen God bring her through her own time in the wilderness. “To see people who are deceived … living their lives making choices that are going to take them to destruction breaks my heart,” she tells Dr. Steve Greene on a recent episode of Greenelines on the Charisma Podcast Network.

Her compassion arises from a season when, as a young and enthusiastic believer, she led a community Bible study in the early ’90s and her husband lost his job. “Of course, the economy was bad, and a lot of people were unemployed,” Christian says. “But it happened that we had just bought a new house. And we were stretched thin, as many people do whenever you’re just starting out. And so he lost his job at the same time that I had sold my property management company to a man who turned out to be a crook because he never paid on the four-year note that we had agreed upon. So both of us had no income for a period that turned out to be four consecutive years.”

But the people in her Bible study reached out to her, Christian says. “My husband was a six-figure income earner, and now we were receiving groceries or checks from people. We learned a whole lot through that.”

And God has allowed Christian to build on her own experiences, as well as the empathy and compassion they bring, to minister to others through her books, her speaking and now her own podcast, Faith to Live By, on the Charisma Podcast Network. Her teaching is Bible-based, she says, and rooted in the idea of helping people have the tools she knows they need to make it through.

“The stock market crashed in 2008,” she explains. “I knew people were going to need help, and I had already lived it. So I put together at that time a six-week course—it’s now a day-long intensive—to help people overcome [unemployment] and the shock that goes with it.

“I don’t know if you realize this, but it’s been researched that people who go through that kind of a prolonged trauma of unemployment, it’s right up there with the PTSD that soldiers experience in combat,” Christian says. “And if people understand that that’s what they’re dealing with, and then they get the help that they need to overcome, and to be healed and find the path out of the situation, then we’re going to do what I’ve been wanting to do. And that’s to help people have a strong faith.”

Christian adds, “As a person who’s been taken low, I want to invest my time, my talents, anything I can to help other people honestly discover and live in life-giving truth.”

Bethel’s Bill Johnson Shares How Your Choices Can Impact Nations, Generations

We’ve seen it too many times to count. A faith leader serves God and, miraculously or otherwise, ends up with a huge following. Somewhere along the way, the leader loses their way. Next thing we know, the headlines feature their moral failure, firing or both.

Pastor Bill Johnson, senior leader of Bethel Church in Redding, California, knows how deceitful our hearts can be. But he also knows about the power of God and His ability to help us maintain our priorities and focus.

“He’s called us to disciple nations,” Johnson tells Dr. Steve Greene on a recent episode of the Greenelines podcast on the Charisma Podcast Network. “And it’s a very large task. And we can’t do it until we know how to master the realms of personal promotion—watch over our own hearts so that we step into promotion. … It’s the big challenge, because people tend to get promoted out of their own maturity. They tend to get promoted out of their own strength of their own heart, their own character.

“It’s happened through revivals, you know,” Johnson says. “Revivals bring increase of blessing, of conflict. Some people can’t handle the conflict; they become embittered. Some can’t handle the blessing; they become materialistic or self-centered. And yet the move of God always increases stuff in our life. If we just don’t know how to navigate that well, we end up choosing where we’re going to level off—when God actually wanted to position us to disciple nations.

“That’s my big deal is that we are successful in discipling nations, that we truly can raise up disciples, of kings, of leaders around the world, and at the same time, maintain true humility and accountability in community,” Johnson says. “And that’s my passion.”

Johnson highlights the biblical story of King Hezekiah (Isa. 36:1-39:8) as an example of a leader who stood out in the midst of opposition including idolatry and witchcraft. “But something happened along the line … The prophet Isaiah told him he was going to die, get his house in order. Isaiah left the room.

“Hezekiah cried out to God; he said, ‘God, I’ve been faithful,” Johnson says. “And the Lord had Isaiah come back and say, ‘You have 15 more years.'”

But “something happened in that moment,” Johnson adds. “The convicting passage in this story is that he didn’t return thanks equal to the miracle he received. It doesn’t say he wasn’t thankful; he wasn’t moved to the measure that God moved on his behalf.

“And so sometimes we, we develop tokenism: prayers, token gifts, token offerings, token thanks, but not really deep from the heart that cost us something,” Johnson says. “And that’s what happened to Hezekiah. And he moved into a form of worship instead of the authentic putting your life on the altar.”

To discover how Hezekiah’s lapse had a generational impact and how your choices can impact your own legacy for good or for evil, listen to the entire episode of Greenelines here. Why This Prophet Says It’s Time for the Esthers to Arise

Our country made history yesterday when the first woman, and the first woman of color, was inaugurated as vice president of the United States. No matter how any of us voted, we can recognize the significance of this era.

And in this era, prophet Michelle McClain-Waters, author of the book The Esther Anointing and its new companion e-course, believes the biblical figure of Esther provides an important message and mandate for today’s women. “Esther was sent to the earth to bring relief and deliverance to her people; actually, God positioned her in a place where she could arise to notoriety,” McClain-Walters tells Dr. Steve Greene on a recent episode of the Greenelines podcast on the Charisma Podcast Network. “She was in a place where she received the favor of God. And she also paved the way for her people to be saved and delivered.

But McClain-Walters adds a caution as well. “I believe it’s time for women to understand who our true enemy is,” she says. “The true enemy is the devil. It’s not people, but it’s the enemy. It’s the devil himself who hates us because we are the givers of life; we were the way Jesus Christ came into the earth.

“So I just want women to really understand that this is our time, that God has brought us into the earth for such a time as this,” she says. “And it’s time for us to be equipped, trained and activated to do everything God has designed us to do. And we’re not going to be bitter, and we’re not going to be angry. We’re going to move forward in the power of God.”

Esther’s name, McClain-Waters points out, means “hidden.” “She had to stay hidden until it was her time to be revealed,” she says. “So I just believe in such a season where God is putting us in some places where we have to move; I call it ‘be the stealthy warrior.’ You can come into a place, and God can put you there, and you can learn the system; you can learn the society, and at the right time, God will cause you to arise with the strategy. And He’ll show you why He brought you into that arena. Because I just believe ‘for such a time as this,’ it’s time for the Esthers to arise.”

To learn more about the Esther anointing and God’s work in helping them arise, listen to the entire podcast here, and be sure to check out The Esther Anointing and others in McClain-Walters’ Anointing series series of books as well as her brand-new e-course, available at this link. 8 Reasons Prophets Sometimes Make Mistakes

I am a firm believer in the prophetic. I believe in the validity and continuation of the gifts of the Spirit (1 Cor. 12-14). My desire is to deal with the larger question of when and why prophetic people make mistakes. Quite frankly, I am more pastorally concerned about the state of the charismatic evangelical church than the election results.

The 2020 Prophecies

The beginning of 2020 was ushered in with a cornucopia of prophetic utterances. However, it quickly became evident that many of the more popular prophetic voices fell short in their prophetic declarations. Because of the magnitude of the challenges faced in 2020, their lack of accuracy was magnified for all to see.

For example, many prophets missed it when they prophesied that COVID-19 would suddenly dissipate right after Passover.

As a result, their followers have raised questions about the legitimacy of their prophetic leaders.

Now, in light of the election debacle, the prophets who declared that President Donald J. Trump was going to win a second term (a couple of them even added that He would win by a landslide), are being seen in a negative light.

Those who prophesied a landslide win missed it big time. As such, they should be held accountable. Similarly, those who prophesied a Trump victory should own up to their mistakes now that he has lost.

As a shepherd and a leader in the body of Christ, my heart is not to condemn or criticize those who have missed it prophetically, but my desire is for the church to be unified. Given the prophetic mistakes that have occurred, I’m concerned about the potential division and confusion within the body. Some of the repercussions of inaccurate prophecies are that some people may end up giving up on the gifts of the Spirit, stop attending charismatic churches or worse yet, completely backslide.

The Apostle Paul on Prophecy

In the New Testament, Paul admonishes believers to judge and test prophetic words. This implies that there is room for error and leniency (1 Thess. 5:19-21, 1 Cor. 14:29).

Furthermore, Romans 8:14 teaches that mature sons of God are led by the Spirit of God since the Holy Spirit is within each believer (Rom. 8:9).

The Old Testament Prophets

In contrast, the Old Testament prophets were given direct dreams or visions from the Lord, leaving them with no room for error. Thus, quoting 2 Chronicles 20:20 (when believing in the prophets was equal to believing in God) is not applicable in the post-Resurrection New Testament in the same comprehensive way it was during the pre-Pentecostal Old Testament.

One can read Hebrews 1:1-2 for the fundamental difference between Old Testament and New Testament prophets.

Hence, the church is not to be led only by prophets (who were once the only ones who heard from God), but are to discern both individually and corporately what the Spirit is saying (Rev. 2:11).

8 Reasons Why Prophetic Voices Sometimes Make Mistakes

1. They prophesy out of their human spirit.

Jeremiah 23 is key to understanding the nature of true and false prophetic words. Essentially, God said that many prophets speak out of their human spirit instead of God’s heart and mind (God is not saying all words that are prophetic inaccuracies are the result of a demonic spirit). These prophets did not distinguish between their souls and spirits. Instead, they spoke out of their own emotions or biases (Jer. 23:16).

First Kings 22 shows us that God sometimes allows corporate lying spirits to speak through prophetic people. This is to test people to see whether they will take heed to mature prophetic voices who are grounded in the word of God or whether people will instead choose to listen to those who merely prophesy to appease the masses. (To be fair, in this passage, the lying spirits were likely put into the mouth of false prophets who did not follow Yahweh.)

2. They prophesy to their base.

First Kings 22 also illustrates how prophetic voices can sometimes get caught up in crowd-pleasing and playing to their base.

For example, traveling prophets can sometimes fall into the temptation of flattering the senior pastor with glowing prophetic words. They may prophesy about revival coming to the church with the hope that they will be invited back to preach.

In the narrative of the book of Jeremiah, there was continual pressure upon Jeremiah to prophesy peace and prosperity. Instead, he predicted the looming captivity of Jerusalem. As a result, he was continually rejected and persecuted for his prophetic declarations.

Ergo, since many prophetic voices have a huge following of Trump supporters, whether they realize it or not, they can be tempted to utter words conducive to what their base wants to hear.

3. They prophesy beyond their level of faith.

Romans 12:6 teaches us to prophesy according to the measure of our faith. Whenever we give “a word” that transcends our spiritual maturity and or faith level, we go from being inspired to being soulish. Some prophetic leaders are continually tempted to give huge elaborate words beyond their spiritual capacity because they seek to gain more attention and get more adherents.

4. They are not held accountable for their mistakes.

After the huge COVID debacle, I have not heard any prophetic leader admit they made a mistake (at least I did not hear about it). I also did not hear anyone calling them out and holding them accountable for their mistake.

I chose to keep my powder dry and did not specifically call people out concerning this. The reason I refrained from doing so was because I did not want to embarrass my brothers in the Lord. I am well aware that any one of us can make a mistake once in a while. Personally, since the start of COVID, I had been saying that I did not think it would end quickly. I said this despite the consensus of the prophetic voices declaring the opposite. I presented my views through my writings and my participation in various leadership gatherings.

It’s imperative for those who miss it prophetically to receive correction. If a person is not open to correction, then he can become a danger to the body of Christ. Said person should also be encouraged to refrain for releasing public prophetic words until he submits himself to recognized seasoned leaders in the body of Christ.

Knowing that any of us can make a mistake, it may be prudent for us never to say, “Thus says the Lord” when we give a word. Instead, we can say something like, “I believe the Lord is saying,” so that others feel that they are invited to judge the word.

The bottom line is, if the word fails to come to pass, it was not a genuine word from the Lord. In Jeremiah 32:6-8, we see the great biblical prophet, Jeremiah, testing the prophecy before he declared it was from God.

5. They go beyond their lane of assignment.

Many prophetic voices are very accurate when giving personal prophetic words but are inconsistent when it comes to giving national words. Just because a person functions with an accurate “simple gift of prophecy” within the local church (1 Cor. 14:2-4) doesn’t mean they are called to give national prophetic words.

When they go outside of their lane, they will often make mistakes and give false hope to their followers.

6. They continually feel the pressure to attract followers.

Unfortunately, there is a human tendency for people to feel pressured to continually perform up to a certain standard. Such performance often garners followers, which sometimes translates to bigger offerings and a larger social media platform. In addition, this drive to perform expresses itself in giving spectacular words in order to compete with other prophetic voices.

7. They copy the words of other prophetic voices (Jer. 23:30).

In the book of Jeremiah and 1 Kings 22, we see that there is often a consensus of a particular company of prophets running in a particular circle.

In light of the above, there may be peer pressure for other prophets to conform to the most popular and influential voices among them. When this happens, group discernment is collapsed down to the initial prophetic voice who has the most influence.

However, even if there is consensus among the prophetic voices, one should dig further and investigate if the prophetic voices declared something independently of one another and if they did so without knowledge of previous prophetic words.

8. Their paradigm and theological bent influence their prophetic words.

First Corinthians 13:9 says, “For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.” By implication, this suggests that all prophetic words are filtered through the lens of the prophetic person’s knowledge and assumptions. Our prophetic words are shaped by our worldview, eschatology and human experience as well as our political bent.

Consequently, this is why we need other members of the body of Christ with a different perspective to judge our words.

For example, those with a conservative political lens may have a proclivity to favor their perspective when hearing prophecies. Those who prefer big government intervention may slant their prophetic words towards candidates and policies with a socialist perspective.

Nobody is exempt from personal biases. No one is entirely pure when giving prophetic utterances. Only the Holy Spirit speaks with complete accuracy 100% of the time. Cultural nuances and current events do not move the Holy Spirit.

My prayer is that this will be a time when God uses the current crisis to mature His church. In addition, may the Holy Spirit increase our biblical discernment and capacity to move in spiritual gifts so that His kingdom advances. {eoa}

Rabbi Curt Landry Reminds America: ‘We Need to Be Found on God’s Side, Not a Party Side’

Our country stands today, Inauguration Day, as a land divided. We don’t have to look further than the headlines to see that division in areas of politics, religion, race and more. So where do we go from here? As believers, we look to the Lord, who often speaks through the Holy Spirit to our spiritual leaders for direction and discernment.

Rabbi Curt Landry shares some key biblical insights for a time such as this with Dr. Steve Greene on a recent episode of the Greenelines podcast. Landry recounts the story in Joshua 5:13 where Joshua asks the captain of the Lord’s army, “Are you for us or for our enemies?” (Josh. 5:13b).

“So he said, ‘No,'” Landry says. “Or he said, ‘Neither,’ depending on the translation, ‘but as the commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.’ And Joshua fell on his face and worshipped and said to him, ‘What does the Lord say to his servant?’ And the commander of the Lord of hosts said, ‘Take your sandals off your feet, for the place that you stand is holy,’ and Joshua did it.

“So I really think that we have to come to terms that as we pray—and we are talking about praying, and enduring and standing—we have to understand that the Lord is not for one party over another party, over one idea or another idea,” Landry says. “This isn’t about the Lord taking sides and fighting for one side and not the other side.

“Here’s the key,” Landry says. “Let’s say that it is the Lord, Jesus; Yeshua is the commander of the Lord of hosts in this. … but if that’s the case, then that means that the Word became flesh and dwelt amongst us. And God does nothing contrary to His Word. His Word is true.

“So if the Word is with the Republicans, then God is standing with that Word,” Landry says. “If the Word is with the Democrats, He’s standing with that Word.

“All I know is that when the battles come, we need to be found on God’s side, not on a party’s side. And we need to be biblically standing for righteousness. Because when the Scripture says, ‘Do My anointed ones no harm’ and ‘Do My prophets no harm,’ that is when they are speaking out what God wants and what God says. And so that’s the scenario that we’re in right now.”

Biden Names First Transgender Person to Serve in Federal Position

Just one day before his inauguration, President-elect Joe Biden announced he has selected Dr. Rachel Levine, Pennsylvania’s health secretary, to serve as his assistant health secretary.

If confirmed by the U.S. Senate—which is split down the middle with Vice President-elect Kamala Harris set to serve as the tie-breaker—Levine, a biological male, would become the first openly transgender person in a presidential administration.

While the left is heralding the nomination as a historic “first,” many on the right—particularly those in Pennsylvania—are taking great issue with Biden’s decision to select Levine, whose policies amid the COVID-19 pandemic have faced intense scrutiny.

In May, Levine’s mother was moved out of a personal care home, a decision that came during an uptick in the number of COVID-19 cases (and deaths) linked to nursing homes and elder care facilities, which some have argued is a direct consequence of directives put in place by Levine.

Much of the criticism goes back to a March 18 guidance, which stated: “Nursing care facilities must continue to accept new admissions and receive readmissions for current residents who have been discharged from the hospital who are stable to alleviate the increasing burden in the acute care setting. This may include stable patients who have had the COVID-19 virus.”

Bestselling Author Dr. Don Colbert: Avoid These Steps to Declining Health

Whether it is nature, environment or habits that ultimately determine your state of health has been a long-standing debate. Bestselling author Don Colbert, M.D., addresses this discussion in his new book, Dr. Colbert’s Healthy Gut Zone. Dr. Colbert helps readers “unlearn” everything medical experts have been teaching about healthy eating for the last three decades and reveals the true path to digestive health through proper diet supported by nutritional supplements. Colbert’s book, which was released on Jan. 5, 2021, is available to order through Amazon, Barnes and Noble, BAM, ChristianBook, Indiebound and Walmart.

“The truth is,” Colbert writes, “you get to choose—no matter what genes you inherited. That is always the case. Keep this truth in mind and use it as a source of encouragement and hope as you consider the typical pattern that accounts for most people’s decline in health.”

In Dr. Colbert’s Healthy Gut Zone, Colbert outlines an eight-step pattern that includes genetics, triggers, environment, time, leaky gut, inflammation, autoimmunity and disease. He helps his readers better understand the eight-step pattern by imagining a scenario with three individual friends.

Step 1: Genetics. Assume that the three friends are genetically predisposed to three health risks: obesity, high blood pressure and arthritis. “It is in their genes,” Colbert says. “They may even have parents or relatives who were sick or died from these or related diseases, but your three friends do not yet suffer from any of these genetic predispositions. It may be in their genes, but they are not aware of it.”

Step 2: Triggers. Suppose something happens that triggers the genes of the three friends. “Maybe it is something they eat, but most likely, it is something major that does significant damage to their guts,” Colbert explains. “Any one of the seven causes of a leaky gut—antibiotics, NSAIDs, acid blockers, GMO foods, chlorine, pesticides and intestinal infections—would be sufficient. Maybe one friend travels and gets an intestinal infection, another takes several doses of antibiotics to fight a persistent urinary tract infection and the third takes acid blockers to stop bothersome reflux.”

Step 3: Environment. Colbert says an individual’s environment is defined as a consistent state of repeated exposure to whatever is around that person. “For example,” he states, “if you work outside every day, fresh air is part of your environment. But your three friends are exposed to environments that chip away at and slowly undermine their good health. The 10 common enemies in a person’s environment are: gluten; a high-sugar, high-carb diet; dairy; lectins; artificial sweeteners; emulsifiers; saturated fats; constipation; stress and staying too clean.”

Step 4: Time. We are all creatures of habit, at least to some degree. We have favorite foods, drinks, clothes, smells, tastes, sports, books, music, movies, TV shows and even driving routes. “Once we find something we like, we tend to stick with it,” Colbert says. “We run into trouble when the behavior we are repeating is bad for our health. Doing it over and over is the perfect setup, hurting the bacteria balance in our gut, increasing gut permeability, and creating more inflammation and more symptoms, all of which slowly degrade our health. Over time, everything bad usually gets worse because of our habits.”

Step 5: Leaky gut. At this point individuals experience what Colbert refers to as “leaky gut,” which is what happens to most people on their journeys to poor health. “Bad bacteria, toxins, lectins, partially digested nutrients and more begin to increasingly flow between the cells of the gut wall,” he explains. “Inflammation increases, and eventually, it breaks down the blood/brain barrier, setting the stage for inflammation in the brain.”

Step 6: Inflammation. Inflammation is everywhere. “The three friends gain weight, have high blood pressure that keeps climbing and experience arthritic swelling, aches and joint pain they’ve never had before,” Colbert says. “Inflammation affects everyone differently, and your three friends have individual genetic weaknesses that combine with the inflammation to make things even worse. Naturally, they turn to their doctors and get prescriptions to deal with their symptoms. Unfortunately, nothing improves.”

Step 7: Autoimmunity. Because of the inflammation and the toxins or partially digested foods and inflammatory mediators passing into the bloodstream, expect that the immune systems of the three friends get confused and begin to attack their tissues. “There are no outside invaders, just internal miscommunication,” Colbert writes. “Autoimmunity occurs when a person’s immune system attacks his or her own body and damages healthy cells, tissues and organs as a result. The brain is eventually affected, which may cause brain fog, poor memory, depressed or anxious mood, and problems focusing and concentrating.”

Step 8: Disease. According to Colbert, the cycle is now complete and will remain ongoing. If nothing is done to break free, the three friends will usually find themselves dealing with arthritis, high blood pressure and obesity.

“These are the eight steps to gut damage, moving from health to sickness,” Colbert says. “Once you take these steps, you are at the door of disease. And unless you do something about it, that door will remain open! Now is the time to choose a different path.”

Don Colbert, M.D., was a board-certified family practice doctor for more than 25 years in Orlando, Florida, and most recently in Dallas, Texas. He is also board certified in antiaging medicine through the American Academy of AntiAging Medicine and has received extensive training in nutritional and preventative medicine. He is the author of three New York Times bestselling books, including Let Food Be Your Medicine, The Seven Pillars of Health and Dr. Colbert’s “I Can Do This” Diet along with bestsellers Toxic Relief, the Bible Cure series, Living in Divine Health and Stress Less. He has sold more than 10 million books and treated more than 50,000 patients in his years of practicing medicine.

Jonathan Cahn of ‘The Harbinger II: The Return’ Asks: ‘Has America Passed the Point of No Return?’

Jonathan Cahn is known the world over for his latest book, The Harbinger II: The Return, as well as for his previous narratives of biblical prophecy and power—several of which are right now appearing simultaneously on the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA) Bestsellers list, as well as on other prominent bestseller lists.

Cahn is greatly concerned for the future of our country. In his original The Harbinger, he posed the ominous question: Is America heading to judgment at a time of great “shakings”—and what lies ahead? Now, his sequel, The Harbinger II: The Return, provides prophetic, biblical answers to these and other worries at a time when Americans—exhausted by the COVID pandemic, pulled apart by political disagreement and struggling to emerge from economic hardship—seek, above all, safety, security and stability.

Cahn originally wrote about the ancient template of national judgment that appeared in biblical times before the destruction of a nation. “In the last days of ancient Israel,” he says, “nine harbingers of warning—prophetic signs—appeared in the land. They were warning of judgment and destruction to come.”

Adds Cahn ominously, “Now, those same nine harbingers have appeared on American soil.”

As revealed in the original The Harbinger, the first sign of warning was that the nation’s hedge of protection would be lifted—and an enemy would strike the land. That terrible wake-up call occurred on Sept. 11, 2001. The book goes on to reveal all nine harbingers that occurred after that.

But those didn’t signal an end to the mystery. Instead, the signs indicated that the template of judgment was just beginning. The Harbinger II: The Return unveils many more secrets, revealing the mystery still continues.

Says Cahn, “According to the template, what happens next is that a nation under judgment is given a window of time to turn back—a period of grace and relief—to come back to God for revival. But if it continues to defy God, then it is headed to judgment. Since 9/11, America has departed even more from God and warred against Him. And that’s exactly what ancient Israel did. It’s following the same template.”

Cahn adds with urgency, “The ‘shakings’ I refer to may include economic disintegration—we’ve been experiencing that. Disorder—it’s happening now. Military defeat—not yet but wait. The division of the nation, the collapse of infrastructure, calamities that are both manmade and from nature—these are all happening now.”

This is why, Cahn points out, so many Americans are asking: “How much time is left for us? Are we past the point of no return?” His compelling new book shares the prophetic answers.

With the release of The Harbinger II: The Return in September 2020, thousands of new fans have embraced Jonathan Cahn’s compelling messages and prophecies. His new book, available for purchase online and everywhere, made the Amazon Bestsellers Top 10 lists of all books in the world and took three of the top 10 spots on Amazon’s Christian Books for print, Kindle and audio—each charting as a Top 10 Bestseller, including No. 1 Christian Prophecy and No. 1 Christian Prophecies. The Harbinger II also catapulted Cahn’s earlier books back onto bestseller lists, including The Oracle, The Paradigm and The Harbinger.

The author has made multiple media appearances, including on CBN’s 700 Club, TBN’s Praise and Family Talk With Dr. James Dobson. Cahn is continuing to do TV and radio interviews.

Jonathan Cahn’s first book, The Harbinger became an instant New York Times bestseller when it was published in 2012. His next four books were also New York Times bestsellers: The Mystery of the Shemitah, The Book of Mysteries, The Paradigm and The Oracle. Along with Billy Graham and Keith Greene, Cahn was named one of the top 40 spiritual leaders of the past 40 years who has radically impacted the world.

Called the prophetic voice of this generation, Cahn has spoken on Capitol Hill, at the United Nations and to millions around the world. Cahn is known for opening the deep mysteries of Scripture and bringing forth messages of prophetic import. He leads Hope of the World ministry, an international outreach of teaching, evangelism and compassion projects for the world’s neediest. He also leads the Jerusalem Center/Beth Israel, a worship center made up of Jews and Gentiles, and people of all backgrounds, outside New York City in Wayne, New Jersey. His ministry can be contacted at and on Jonathan Cahn Facebook.

This Pastor Might Have Died in the Emanuel AME Shooting—But God

It seemed like a normal conversation between a husband and wife. The Rev. Anthony Thompson’s wife, Myra, was leading her first Bible study at Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina, and he planned to attend.

“We’re more than just the Bobbsey twins,” Anthony, pastor of a neighboring church, Holy Trinity Reformed Episcopal, tells Dr. Steve Greene on a popular episode of Greenelines on the Charisma Podcast Network. “Where you see me, you see her. And we’re doing the same things, trying to encourage [each other] in whatever we’re doing.”

For some reason, though, as the couple discussed their day, Myra told her husband, “I don’t want you to come,” Anthony says. “And we went back and forth like maybe 10 minutes with this, ‘I’m coming,’ and she says, ‘I don’t want you to be there.’

“And a wife knows what button to push for a husband to act the way she wants him to act,” Anthony adds. “She said to me, ‘Well, you’re having your first night of Vacation Bible School for the young people. You need to be there.’ … She convinced me to go. But I still had intentions of leaving there and going to her Bible study,” he says. But his parishioners needed his help that night, he says, and so as his wife had requested, he stayed.

On that night, June 17, 2015, Myra’s encouragement to her husband proved to be a lifesaving prophetic word. White supremacist Dylann Roof, 21, entered Emmanuel AME, attended her Bible study and ultimately took nine precious lives, including Myra’s.

Anthony made it to the church that night, but only after he received a call informing him of the tragedy. Soon after he arrived, a friend informed him that his wife had not survived.

That began a spiritual journey of grief and forgiveness that he details in his book, Called to Forgive, including his public offer of forgiveness to Roof during his bond hearing.

To hear more of Anthony’s compelling story, listen to the entire episode of Greenelines here, and be sure to subscribe to Greenelines on your favorite platform for more inspirational, informative content. {eoa}

Salvation, Miracles Overflow as Murillo Tent Revival Takes Aim at Satan

California: A state where COVID-19 has run rampant, with nearly 3 million recorded cases to date.

California: A state where Gov. Gavin Newsom has done his best to shut down churches and worship indoors and out while supporting those who gathered in the streets to riot.

California: A state touched by the life-changing power of the gospel and overflowing with the Holy Spirit’s power.

Evangelist Mario Murillo of Mario Murillo Ministries scheduled a three-day Living Proof tent revival in Bakersfield, California, last week, only to have God upend his plans because, as his team posted on Facebook, “God is on the move and YOUR PRAYERS are making an impact!”

Originally our Revival meetings were just going to be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. But we have decided to EXTEND THEM…

“Tonight, God took His revenge on Satan in Bakersfield, California. This city is now the place where lies go to die,” Murillo writes in a recent blog post, noting the despair that has blanketed this city and pointing to the unity of the various churches and ministries who united to invite and work with his team: Wendell Vinson of Canyon Hills Assemblies of God, Manuel Carrizales of Stay Focused ministry, and Frank Saldana and his team from Inner City Action.

Murillo says he preached a “direct Gospel message,” warning the crowd that serving Christ meant full surrender. But instead of his straightforward approach keeping people away from the altar, Murillo says, “It ignited an even greater hunger for them to be saved. The line of those wanting to be saved stretched all the way outside the tent.”

Each night, Murillo’s team followed the evangelistic ministry with what he calls “miracle ministry” where, he writes, “Signs and Wonders seem to dart from one place to another, until there was rejoicing. The joy of sickness being healed was felt all over the tent.”

The fervor for the gospel did not wane as the meetings extended. A Facebook video from Thursday night, Jan. 14, shows hundreds coming forward to make decisions for Christ:

Now that this crusade has ended, Murillo is calling the church to more. In a Jan. 16 blog post, he shares his passion for revival: “My cry is that when the doors of Spirit-filled churches reopen, they will leave Sesame Street and run back to Azusa Street,” calling believers to “rage against limp-wristed preaching, fog machines, romantic lighting, and that atmosphere that’s about as life giving as the waiting room at a DMV.”

As Murillo writes, “O God, let it be!” {eoa}
