“You are anointed, and your anointing has not left you” is what I recently heard the Spirit of the Lord say while I was in worship and prayer before my Sunday-night web church service.

It was for the people of God. He said, “Tell My people they are anointed, and their anointing has not left them. Even if you aren’t operating in the gifts and the full potential I have given you, it doesn’t mean it isn’t within you or has left you. My anointing does not leave My people. They may not activate it, but they can cultivate it and release it. It has not left them. It is My anointing.”

The inadequacy, shame, guilt, condemnation, unworthiness and regret you feel and may experience does not make your anointing leave you. The Lord still wants to use you.

He continued to reveal that He wants His people encouraged, built up and activated. They need someone who will believe in them. Jesus said, “Go and make disciples” (Matt. 28:19). The first disciples we need to make are ones in the church, releasing the Holy Spirit’s gifts. We can’t go out in the world and make disciples until we are activated.

You have a purpose. We all have a purpose in the kingdom of God. We all have a ministry assignment, even though that assignment looks different for everyone. We have all been anointed and appointed by the Father. The question is, “Are we using what the Father has imparted into us?” Jesus has given us authority over all things. Are we walking in and releasing that authority because we are anointed to do so?

When we look at the life of Jeremiah, he was sanctified. Father God formed him in the womb, sanctified him and ordained him a prophet to the nations (Jer. 1:5). Sanctified means set apart for sacred use. When you study sacred and holy in this context, it means separated from common, secular uses, consecrated to God and His services. It means that we are set apart and anointed for God’s work and His kingdom. We too are consecrated and set apart from common, secular uses to advance His kingdom with our anointing.

We need to rise above our feelings that God can use everyone else except us, except you. He can and will use you. He can use you for the glory and edification of His name. It comes with renewing your mind and your purpose. Elijah gave up and felt defeated and needed a renewal of purpose while Jezebel was coming after him. When we receive a renewal of purpose, we are energized for our kingdom assignments. Where do you need to be energized? Where do you need to believe in yourself again? Where do you need to believe God for the plans and purposes He has for your life?

Often we get discouraged, distracted and give up or don’t believe the call of God on our lives is going to manifest. We think our sin is too great; we’ve missed the mark and messed up too many times. With all the opportunities that didn’t happen, we think that the manifestation of our destiny is no longer in the works. All those thoughts are vain imaginations and lies from the pit of hell, and don’t you believe it for a moment.

There is nothing too great you cannot overcome and accomplish. God has a purpose and a plan for your life. Get up! Get moving! Put the devil under your feet! Renew your thoughts! Get active in your prophetic assignment. He has a plan and purpose for you, a mission for you; one that no one but you can complete. You are worthy! You are anointed!

I can honestly say that the Holy Spirit is my best friend. I ask, and He answers. I rely on Him to teach, guide, correct and convict me. But it hasn’t always been this way. My friendship with the Holy Spirit began after my husband, Ron, and I experienced a long, intense year of spiritual warfare several years ago. At the time, we were completely unfamiliar with spiritual warfare, and all we could do was rely on the Holy Spirit.

After that season of unprecedented spiritual attack, we relocated our family to our hometown in Michigan. I spent my time adjusting our kids to their new home and schools and focused on being a mom and wife. I didn’t work outside the home, so I was able to spend the next two years prostrate on the carpet in the presence of the Father, getting to know Jesus and the Holy Spirit. I had one goal in mind: get to know the Trinity deeply.

During this time, I had many encounters and visions with Jesus. I would lie on the floor where it often felt like His face was in the carpet (many times I saw it there) as we dialogued back and forth. No deliverance minister cast out my demons or led me through the deliverance process. Jesus was my deliverer. No one taught me about spiritual warfare. The Holy Spirit was my teacher and guide.

Life those years had been intense, but in the years that followed, I rested in the presence of the Lord and learned about healing and deliverance. I didn’t seek to be prophetic or have a deliverance ministry; I simply desired to get to know Jesus intimately. I allowed the Holy Spirit to lead my prayer and worship time, breaking down strongholds and bringing me into the glory of God’s presence. He directed which books I should study and taught me the Scriptures.

Those years of seeking the Holy Spirit birthed and launched me into deliverance ministry. I followed the Holy Spirit’s leading in deliverance ministry for the next few years, and even though I didn’t walk in prophetic ministry—often referred to as “the prophetic”—at that time, I had a keen sense of discernment and could see into the spiritual realm.

In 2009 the Holy Spirit convicted me of the prophetic call on my life. Up to that point, I never wanted anything to do with prophetic ministry because I had seen impure motives in people seeking it. Jesus had placed a prophetic mantle on me during an encounter I had with Him. But I denied this call three times, and I had been running from it ever since. However, in 2009, I was finally obedient. I repented and embraced the prophetic call on my life—but at a limited level. I still wasn’t fully using what the Lord had given me. When I witnessed people being set free from demonic oppression in five minutes versus eight-hour sessions, I was all in!

I pray and allow Him to guide me through decisions, including where and when to travel, what to purchase and at what restaurant to eat. I’ve relied on Him several times when discerning which regions He has called my team to travel to, minister to and pray over. He’s led us on prophetic ministry tours that we call Be Love Prophetic Tours. We’ve relied on Him to know what city to go to, what route to take and where to stop along the way for ministry, food and lodging.

Along the way I started a podcast called Prophetic Spiritual Warfare, and I’ve given my new book the same title. It’s critical to know the meaning behind this title. Any book or podcast on spiritual warfare will explore combating spiritual obstacles and darkness, but Prophetic Spiritual Warfare emphasizes that the key to spiritual warfare is being led by the examples of Jesus in the Bible and the Holy Spirit’s guidance. Being prophetically led by the Spirit of God means we partner with the Holy Spirit in everything we say and do and most importantly in our prayer time. The Spirit of God knows what needs to be prayed about and how it needs to be conquered. He knows each battle we face.

Therefore, when we partner with the Holy Spirit, He will lead us to victory. We are spirit beings. Therefore, we must be led by the Holy Spirit.

I was in prayer the other day and had been praying for a while when I suddenly began to pray for the people of Louisiana, due to the devastation of Hurricane Ida. As I was praying, I received a word of knowledge to pray against a spirit of suicide attacking the residents of Louisiana. As I began to decree audibly, I felt darkness pierce in the natural and spiritual. I pressed in and kept praying to see what the Spirit of the Lord wanted to release and listened to how He was instructed me to pray. He was showing me basements, water and men, such as fathers and husbands. The men were grief-stricken with not knowing how to move forward, care for their families and replace what was lost.

He further revealed to me that suicide is attacking those who are distraught and have lost family members. The Spirit of the Lord began to reveal that some are highly disturbed with having lost everything and suicidal thoughts are attacking them. I saw adults who had children and families considering suicide, especially men, not knowing how to provide and rebuild for their families.

I perceived a principality of suicide is active because as I started to pray and declare out loud against it, I physically felt a penetration of evil. It was confirmation to me that a demonic attack was in progress. Pray against a spirit of death and suicide. Pray for people to have hope, peace and trust. Pray that they would feel the love of God and know they are not alone. Pray that they would live and rebuild. Bind and restrict the enemy and the destruction he wants to send forth. I heard the news of the Taliban taking over Afghanistan, and I was grieved. We are living out the very prophecy of the Bible with Christians being martyred for their faith. The Bible speaks of end-time persecution and wars. This is not a time for fear but a time for faithful prayers.

I cried out to the Lord and inquired of Him how I could make a difference. Lord, what can I do to help? I was prophetically speaking on a webinar to my inner circle mentees. I was telling them how prophecy is releasing prophetic events and that people’s individual prophetic words are coming forth. As I released this message, the Holy Spirit simultaneously downloaded revelation on how we should be praying for this situation.

I believe this is a season and call to intercession on a corporate level. Last week, I released prophetic words of a pending financial storm and a governmental shift. These words were strict calls to intercession, and now with the crisis in Haiti of natural disease, governmental shift and the increasing pandemic, I know it is a time to intercede for our world.

How do we effectively pray and declare what needs to happen? How do we keep our flesh out of our prayer time? How do we stand in agreement and pray God’s kingdom manifests on earth, revival comes forth and change manifests? Allow the Holy Spirit to lead your prayer time. In my book, Prophetic Spiritual Warfare, I teach how to partner with the Holy Spirit to conquer warfare. I’ve written over 50 declarations in the book to speak out against warfare. However, right now, I want to tap into the presence and power of the Holy Spirit once again for prayer points and declarations of how we should be praying for our world.

Pray for the Crisis in Afghanistan

— I bind and restrict every demonic attack against women, children and the people of Afghanistan.

— I speak and declare there will be peace and order in Afghanistan.

— I call forth transformation and Saul-to-Paul conversations for the Taliban soldiers.

— I decree and declare forth the collapse and fall of the Taliban army.

— I annihilate the spirit of death and murder over Afghanistan. Father God, shelter and hide the underground church in Afghanistan.

— I speak and decree safety for the Christians facing persecution and death in Afghanistan. Give them strong faith, boldness, security and hope.

— I eradicate every demonic assignment to steal, kill and destroy Christians doing the Lord’s work in Afghanistan.

— I proclaim the underground church and Christians will be protected, and I confine and restrain demonic assignments from going forth against them.

— I call forth wisdom for government officials. I declare they will bind their flesh and natural insights and do what is best for all people. Holy Spirit, send conviction to their minds and hearts and change them to desire to receive conviction, instruction and direction.

— I declare that people will come forth and desire to follow the Lord and biblical principles.

— I abolish every spirit of control, Jezebel, manipulation and witchcraft in the government and the Taliban army. I speak, decree and call forth their complete exposure and deliverance!

— I annihilate every principality and demonic operation over our governmental system and the territory of Afghanistan.

— I call forth Resurrection life and power to go forth into this situation and for divine heavenly host intervention!

— I speak and decree no weapon formed against Christians, peacekeeping soldiers and the Afghanistan people will prosper.

— I thank You, Father God, for you are the vindicator and judge. Expose the enemy and protect your people! I paralyze all demonic assignments against the godly and righteous.

— I speak and decree and call forth every good thing and bind and restrict the demonic realm from activation, in the name of Jesus!

Pray for the Soldiers Who Have Fought to Keep the Peace

— I call forth healing from trauma and every negative emotion soldiers who fought to keep peace in Afghanistan are now experiencing.

— Father God, put a hedge of protection around the soldiers who are peacekeepers.

— I restrict the enemy from wreaking havoc on soldiers’ emotions and using this event to affect them and their families negatively.

— I pray for people in our governmental system who worked years to keep peace and now feel betrayed and angry. I ask, Father God, for comfort, peace and love in their hearts and minds.

Prayer: Father God, I lift our armed forces to you right now. I ask for love and understanding where there is brokenness and pain. In the name of Jesus, comfort and surround them. Where there is anger, betrayal and confusion, Holy Spirit, be their comforter and friend. Father, be with the families who lost their loved ones who were soldiers keeping peace in Afghanistan. Let them know their loss still helped people, and let them know it was not for nothing. Lord, I ask you to dispatch angels on assignment to encourage, surround and support all military families in Jesus’ name. {eoa}

I woke up this morning from a very vivid prophetic dream in which the Spirit of the Lord instantly gave me the meaning. This dream was both disturbing and encouraging and is an immediate call to intercession for the body of Christ. It was a warning, but the Lord told me we could avert disaster, an undesirable consequence, if we pray and intercede.

In my dream, there were many Christians gathered in a room. They were gathered together for worship and prayer. The building was large and packed with too many people to count. There was a huge storm and a tornado passing through, but the tornado took its time. It was not passing quickly. It was not reaching the building where the people were gathered. They could see it coming. They could feel it in the atmosphere, but at this time is was not prospering against them. People started asking when it would be over. The tornado had not yet reached the building. Its speed was so slow it was as if it was being held up by something.

The Spirit of the Lord revealed that the tornado was destructive but could be held up and not come by if we prayed and interceded. I saw the width of this tornado as a Category 2. It expanded wide over this field by the building. The highlight of this prophetic dream was that this storm would have a direct impact on Christians. In the dream, the tornado was being held up, but then I heard the Lord say, “You have a choice. Christians have a choice if this tornado is going to hit.”

I awoke and, more clearly than ever before, I interpreted what the tornado was targeting. It was our financial system, our economy. The Spirit was speaking to me and said, “Disaster can come after your financial system, or it can be averted, but the decision will be up to Christians. It will be up to whether or not they pray to avert it.” He was clearly giving us a choice and a decision to make if we were going to intercede in response to this spiritual warfare attack on our economy. I knew this was a dream warning of what is to come if we don’t go to immediate and fervent intercession to destroy this attack against our financial system and way of life as we know it. We must get into a time of prayer and intercession to break apart the storm that is looming. {eoa}

We do not need to be in fear of sickness and disease. I wish I would have known this years ago. Unfortunately, I was more an expert in the area of fear than health ailments. I was raised to think the worst when a physical condition attempted to attack my body. It took years to overcome the fear of sickness, disease and even abnormalities that can happen regularly.

The coronavirus has been active for almost two years, and I can say I have never been in fear of it. I want to teach you and help deliver you from fear, not just of COVID but any physical ailment. You don’t have to be afraid of anything. I know this may sound simple, but relying on 2 Timothy 1:7 helps: “For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and love, and self-control.” God has not given us fear. His love is perfect. The Bible says, “perfect love casts out fear” (1 John 4:18). We have been given love; 2 Timothy 1:7 points that out; therefore, love can overpower fear.

I love Psalm 91. I think it is a perfect place to keep our peace. It instructs us that when we dwell in a secret place, He will protect us. “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust.’ Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the hunter and from the deadly pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall find protection; His faithfulness shall be your shield and wall” (Ps. 91:1-4). We will stay in perfect peace when we dwell with Him.

Staying in perfect peace didn’t always happen for me. I know some of you aren’t in perfect peace either. How do we move forward in faith and not fear when it seems like sickness and disease are all around and an adverse medical diagnosis comes our way? I want to give you some practical applications. These can be implemented for all health ailments and fear, not just the coronavirus. Over half of the battle is in our minds. Our minds can be conquered.

1. Capture every thought (2 Cor. 10:3-5). Capture the thought and dismiss it; don’t entertain it.

2. Get busy when your mind starts to go in an unproductive and unfruitful direction. Get up and get active. Don’t sit and think, or you’ll begin stinking thinking. Do something fun; get yourself into busywork, prayer or worship!

3. Cast down vain imaginations. Not everything is a demon! Recognize the lie or fear you are believing! Break agreement with it by speaking out and declaring audibly, “I break agreement with fear! I have faith! I am not going to get sick by Christ’s stripes; I am healed! I walk in my divine authority! No sickness or plague will come near my dwelling, and no weapon formed against me will prosper, in Jesus’ name.” Declare faith, not fear.

4. Discern who you talk to about your feelings and emotions of fear of health ailments. Are people you talking to feeding the fear or fueling faith into you?

5. Press through to your breakthrough! Diagram out your fear and discern the root cause of fear, what you are afraid of and why don’t you trust God to be your protector.

I suffered from fear for years, and I want to assure you, friends, you can be free! Set your heart and mind on the things of heaven, on the Word of God and our Lord and Savior Jesus! Transform your thinking and train your thoughts to go in positive directions. As a deliverance minister, I want to assure you that not everything is demonic. Sometimes our deliverance comes from us changing our behavior patterns and thinking habits. Capture every thought that is contrary to the Word of God and dismiss it instead of entertaining it.

Declare aloud right now:

Fear has to leave! It has no part of me!

I break agreement with mind-binding spirits, and I command them to go, in Jesus’ name!

I speak and proclaim that I have not been given a spirit of fear but of love and power. I have a self-controlled, self-disciplined and sound mind (2 Tim. 1:7).

I bind and restrict sickness and disease from attacking my health. I claim and decree that health and healing are mine because of what Jesus did for me!

No weapon formed against me will prosper! I bind and restrict the enemy from sending demonic attacks my way!

I speak and decree that my body works in perfect chemical alignment; my immune system is strong; and I am walking in divine health.

I command every spirit of fear to get out of me now, in Jesus’ name!

A spiritual shift is happening in the next three months, the months of August, September and October 2021. This shift is one of deliverance. Deliverance is not just personal. It is corporate, regional and governmental. Deliverance comes in different forms. It cannot be contained within the image of a person receiving deliverance from strongholds and demonic spirits. Deliverance is being set free, and we can be freed from many things.

I have been in a time of prayer and fasting for the 30 days of Elul, and when a friend texted me to say Gov. Andrew Cuomo had resigned, I instantly heard in the spirit the words “governmental shift.” Many Christians have been interceding and praying for a resurrection in this country from injustices, governmental control and ungodly leadership. The words “governmental shift” are still cycling in my spirit and soul hours later. As I further discerned this, the Spirit assured that prayers were being answered. I hear the words, “Don’t give up. I am about to do something wonderful.”

So often, we don’t see the fruit and labor of our prayers. Even if we don’t see the answer to our prayers, it is our responsibility to pray anyway. “We live by faith, not by sight” (2 Cor. 5:7).

I hear the Lord saying, “You have been on a quest, a quest for goodness, a quest for completeness. It is time I raise My mighty right hand and show you who has control over this nation. Let the intercessors arise. Let the prayers of My people be heard. Let my tribes come forth! Let this nation be under God!”

I believe a great revival is coming. First, we need to experience deliverance ministry and receive reconciliation in our hearts and among believers. I hear the Spirit say, “We have been in division among political views. It is not about political views. It is about God’s views, kingdom views and advancing the kingdom. There is going to be a perpetual shift, and it begins with the song of intercession. You have sung that song, and now the shift is beginning. Get ready for the greatest deliverance you have seen in history. I am getting ready to move on your behalf because of your intercessors. Don’t quit. Keep interceding, and the heavens will open over your nation!” {eoa}

Unforgiveness is the root and demonic stronghold with legal rights. Receiving deliverance comes by spending time in the presence of the Lord. We are entering a prophetic season and time of deliverance.

It has been three weeks now since I have felt an unusual anointing for deliverance. I have prophesied and felt the heavens are open for accelerated deliverance. The Spirit of the Lord has been speaking to me about releasing the ministry of deliverance and empowering people to set the captives free. I have been teaching about this in my podcast, Prophetic Spiritual Warfare on Charisma Podcast Network.

It begins with us. We must receive and walk in our freedom. There has been a spiritual shift, and the ministry of deliverance is coming forth and manifesting. I hear the Lord saying, “I am going to manifest deliverance in usual and unfamiliar ways.” Often, we think of deliverance as a cookie-cutter ministry. Still, when we partner with the Holy Spirit, there is nothing uniform about deliverance. (See my new book, Prophetic Spiritual Warfare, to learn more about this.)

As I have experienced the fire of God for deliverance over the past few weeks, the Spirit of the Lord revealed to me there is a specific reason for the anointing and timing of what is manifesting. We are approaching the Jewish feasts, the Hebrew new calendar year and the 40 days of Teshuvah. This is a time of special preparation as we pray, fast, repent and turn back to God. This is a time of consecration and dedications unto the Lord. It is a time we set ourselves apart from common secular uses and dedicate special time to prayer and worship. In the season of Teshuvah, there are 30 days set aside for prayer and repentance, followed by 10 days in which it is believed the heavens are uniquely open for petitions and intercessions.

It is no coincidence that, as we approach these fall feasts, this is a season of deliverance. I have been sensing that for the next three months there will be deliverance for things from which people have never yet been delivered. The Spirit revealed that people who have pressed through for their breakthroughs which have never come forth will finally receive freedom. There is a shifting, an awakening, and it begins with the ministry of deliverance. It will come forth! It will come forth in this hour, with this hour.

Deliverance begins with repentance and forgiveness. This is a season where we repent, readjust and turn our focus on the Lord. There are so many distractions in life that want our attention. Discipline and obedience must come forth in our spiritual walk—perseverance of moving forward despite opposition.

This is a time of consecration and dedication unto the Lord, and as we seek the Lord, deliverance will manifest. Psalm 91 tells us that when we dwell in the secret place, He will protect and cover us. In this season, with the world’s challenges, we could all use protection and deliverance.

The Holy Spirit is setting us up for a season of acceleration in our spiritual walk, divine revelation, intimacy like we have never experienced before and deliverance and impartation unparalleled to what we have previously experienced. We will see a season of mass deliverance like never before, and that season will create a great awakening as we are made whole. I want to encourage you to join in a time of prayer and fasting for the 40 days of Teshuvah, which begins this weekend. We can make anything happen, but is the Holy Spirit orchestrating it or is our flesh constructing it. The Spirit of the Lord can honor anything we do, but do we want Him to honor it or bless it. I don’t know about you, but I desire the blessing.

The Spirit of the Lord revealed to me there is a difference between blessing and honor. Honor means it will be good; the Lord can still use whatever we plan or do, but when He blesses it, we will see the fruit of our labor. When we do things in our strength, with our ideas and agendas running full force, He will honor it. It can still bring glory to Jesus’ name, but it wasn’t enough for me after receiving this prophetic revelation. I want blessing and honor—not just honor. I want to know I have partnered with Him as He leads and guides me to what He has called me to do.

In ministry, there is so much competition and jealousy. We can become envious of what another has that we don’t. I remember, years ago, being jealous. I thought, “Lord, I am waiting for my building, and that person just up and goes and gets a community center.” The Lord revealed to me they were doing it in their own strength, without His blessing, and that money can make anything happen. They shut it down a year later. Ministries should be successful in the strength and direction of the Lord.

I am always amazed at how many people, including leaders, don’t consider praying about the decisions but simply moving forward with what makes most logical sense or what is best for the business aspect of the ministry. To be Spirit-filled, we must also be Spirit-led.

I’ve learned over the years that if the Lord showed us the big picture of most of our prophetic destinies we would take the ball and roll with it. It takes discipline to wait and not make a move without the Holy Spirit. If we want to be a prophetic generation—and I believe we are called to be—we must partner with the Holy Spirit to manifest our destiny. We should aim and strive for the blessing, not just the honor.

The Spirit revealed to me that we are conduits of Him. We should exude the very presence of God, and if we are going to release His presence, we need to be disciplined to partner with the Holy Spirit. Let’s compare ourselves for a minute to a fire hose. It is full of pressure as the water pours out. We should be full of the presence of the Holy Spirit, and people should be able to feel, see and experience the Holy Spirit flowing out of us.

Our walk and kingdom calling is never about us. It is always about Him. Sometimes we need to take a step back and rest and listen to His direction. We can get caught up in the momentum, in the next great idea or continually keeping ourselves in a kingdom-advancing, ministry-growing role. As we do this, we ultimately fill our time with busyness and the next great idea. Unfortunately, the next great idea often becomes something our flesh wants more than what the Holy Spirit has called for our lives.

In general, most deliverance ministry and spiritual warfare prayers fall short of what we need to bind, restrict, clean up and clear up the spiritual atmosphere. People stay in bondage because we don’t go deep enough and far enough in using our authority and casting out demons. We get bored and stagnant in our prayer time and don’t partner with the Holy Spirit to listen to what He says needs to be prayed out. I remember a mother who kept trying to take charge of her child’s health by praying in her mind, “I rebuke you, Satan.” I told her she must speak out and decree into the situation, but she persisted that rebuking the devil in her mind was enough.

There are two issues with her way of thinking:

1. The first is that the devil cannot hear what we think or pray to God silently. Therefore, the demon attacking the child was neither hearing nor heeding the mother’s authority.

2. The second is a misunderstanding of the meaning of the word “rebuke.” “Rebuke” means to take authority over something. When we rebuke something, we need to take authority over it and then give it a follow-up command.

In the Scriptures, when Jesus rebuked, He gave a follow-up command. A good example is when He was in the middle of a storm and He rebuked the wind and then spoke to the sea. The Bible says, “He rose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, ‘Peace, be still!’ Then the wind ceased and there was a great calm” (Mark 4:39).

Jesus rebuked the wind, which was disrupting the sea. After He rebuked the wind and took authority over it, He spoke to the sea with a follow-up command to be still. Notice that the wind ceased first, as He began with a rebuke, the starting point of authority. The wind and the sea—both things He took authority over—had to react for the stillness to come forth. It was twofold: rebuking and speaking a follow-up command.

Another example is when Jesus delivered a man who was deaf and dumb from a demon. “When Jesus saw that the people came running together, He rebuked the foul spirit, saying to it, ‘You mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him, and enter him no more'” (Mark 9:25).

Jesus took authority over the foul spirit, addressing it by name and commanding it to depart and not reenter. He rebuked and then followed up by commanding it to leave and enter no more. He was taking care of the immediate situation and preventing future movement.

When searching through the Scriptures for spiritual warfare techniques, we must pay attention to words such as “saying,” “said,” and “call.” We must look for action words in the Scripture. Look again at what Jesus said in Mark 9:25: “You mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him, and enter him no more.” Jesus not only cast out the demon but also took authority, told it to depart and then sealed the person’s deliverance by commanding the demon to enter him no more. He rebuked and took complete authority over every part of the demonic stronghold.

We must follow Jesus’ example. Direct the demonic realm through commanding. Decree and take authority to demolish attacks. I recommend that you use a variety of words in prayer. This practice can help you avoid praying ineffective and legalistic prayers. When you pray out loud, the enemy can hear your prayers, and he can tell when you are being legalistic and praying routinely instead of being inspired by the Holy Spirit and releasing your authority.

Allow the Spirit to Lead

Jesus was not traditional or legalistic. He did not repeatedly minister the same way. The Spirit of God led Him. It is essential to be led by the Holy Spirit in warfare, releasing prayer and receiving discernment. I like to say, “Deliverance is not a cookie-cutter ministry. It is not one-size-fits-all.” What works for one person doesn’t necessarily fit for another.

Jesus delivered in different ways. He conducted warfare through His own prayers, not through another person’s prayers. It seems that in the body of Christ we want others to fight our battles more than we want to fight them ourselves. We need to learn to pray as Jesus did. Spiritual warfare, being prophetic and releasing the ministry of deliverance are the most unusual and unique ministries. We can’t expect to follow a pattern or formula. We must allow our spirit man to be Spirit-led and instruct us how to release the ministry for each particular situation we encounter.

In addition to following the Spirit’s leading, we must follow Jesus’ example in Scripture. When Jesus dealt with demons, He told them to be quiet (Mark 1:25) and forbade them to speak (Mark 1:34). He did not need to consult with a demon to evict it. Rebuke is taking authority over a demon, not bargaining, arguing or consulting with it. Your words are prophetically assigned to hit a target. Demons must bow to the name of Jesus and the authority you exude.
