Massive Saharan Dust Cloud Headed for US, Bringing Air Quality Warnings and Extreme Heat

Residents across parts of Florida are being warned to prepare for hazy skies and declining air quality as a wave of dust from North Africa spreads across the region.

Forecasters say the airborne dust, carried thousands of miles across the Atlantic Ocean, is expected to become increasingly noticeable through the week. The phenomenon is bringing drier air into the Southeast, limiting thunderstorm development and adding to already oppressive heat conditions.

Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies / University of Wisconsin-Madison

Miami-Dade County officials issued an Air Quality Alert this week as concentrations of fine particulate matter increased across portions of South Florida.

Officials warned that pollutant levels could approach or exceed thresholds considered unhealthy for some individuals, particularly those with respiratory conditions.

The dust contains microscopic particles that can travel deep into the respiratory system. According to the report, Saharan dust contains “fine particles, PM10 and especially PM2.5, minerals like quartz and feldspar, and sometimes microbes or pollutants picked up during transport.”

Health experts caution that exposure can contribute to breathing difficulties, cardiovascular stress and irritation of the eyes, nose and throat. Headaches, fatigue and allergic reactions have also been associated with elevated dust levels.

Order Jonathan Cahn’s New Book, “The Altar of Pergamon” on !

The arrival of the dust coincides with a stretch of dangerous summer heat. Meteorologists expect temperatures to remain in the mid-90s across parts of Florida, with heat index values potentially climbing as high as 110 degrees.

Despite the health concerns, the dust does provide one benefit during hurricane season.

The dry air associated with Saharan dust can interfere with tropical development by reducing the moisture needed for storms to organize and strengthen. Forecasters say that process may help limit tropical activity across portions of the Atlantic in the short term.

“The greatest impacts of the Sahara dust are forecast from the middle of the week into the weekend as high pressure builds and additional dust arrives from the Atlantic,” the report stated.

Saharan dust outbreaks are a regular summertime occurrence, particularly between June and August. Atmospheric wind patterns routinely carry dust from the Sahara Desert westward across the Atlantic, with some plumes traveling more than 5,000 miles before reaching the Caribbean, Gulf Coast and southeastern United States.

Forecasters expect conditions to gradually improve once additional moisture returns to the region later this week.

From Orwell to Revelation: Are Police Drones a Glimpse of the Infrastructure Behind the Beast System?

When George Orwell wrote Nineteen Eighty-Four in 1949, the idea of authorities monitoring citizens with near-constant awareness seemed like dystopian fiction.

Today, police departments across America are deploying drones that can fly into homes, track suspects, locate individuals before officers arrive and, in at least one California case, physically remove a weapon from a suspect’s hand.

Officials hailed the incident as a “nationwide first.”

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Sacramento Sheriff's Office (@sacsheriff)

Most Americans watched the video and saw an innovative law enforcement tool. Many likely viewed it as a safer alternative to a potentially deadly confrontation.

And to be fair, there is a strong argument that such technology can save lives.

But we should be asking a deeper question.

Not whether this particular drone was justified.

Not whether this particular suspect deserved to be arrested.

But what kind of world is being built around us?

The Infrastructure Before the Empire

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office recently demonstrated how a drone equipped with a magnet could enter a residence and remove a knife from the hand of an armed suspect, according to SFGate. Elsewhere in California, drone-as-first-responder programs are expanding rapidly, with drones arriving at emergency scenes before deputies in more than 70% of cases.

Law enforcement agencies describe the technology as a force multiplier. Supporters say it protects officers and civilians alike.

Yet history teaches us that technologies rarely remain limited to their original purpose.

The internet connected the world and transformed communication. It also became a tool for surveillance, censorship and data collection.

Smartphones gave people unprecedented access to information. They also created the most comprehensive voluntary tracking system in human history.

Artificial intelligence promises extraordinary benefits while simultaneously raising concerns about privacy, autonomy and control.

The issue is never the technology alone.

The issue is what happens when powerful tools become integrated into powerful systems.

Order Mark Biltz’s New Book, “The Final Tyrant” on !

Orwell’s Warning Was Never About the Machines

That was Orwell’s warning.

The author of Nineteen Eighty-Four was not primarily concerned with machines. He was concerned with centralized authority empowered by technology. The famous telescreens of Orwell’s world were merely instruments that enabled a government to monitor behavior, suppress dissent and enforce conformity.

In many ways, modern technology has surpassed Orwell’s imagination.

Big Brother watched from a screen mounted on a wall.

Today’s technology flies overhead, identifies faces, tracks locations, analyzes behavior and increasingly operates with artificial intelligence.

If Orwell feared what governments could do with a camera on a wall, what might he have thought of autonomous drones, biometric databases and artificial intelligence capable of processing vast amounts of information in real time?

When Revelation Becomes Technologically Possible

For us, this raises another question—one rooted not in fiction but in biblical prophecy.

Revelation 13 describes a future global system capable of controlling commerce, enforcing allegiance and punishing those who refuse to comply. For centuries, skeptics mocked such a scenario as impossible. How could any government monitor billions of people? How could authorities enforce restrictions on a worldwide scale?

Those questions are becoming easier to answer.

Drones. Artificial intelligence. Biometric identification. Digital currencies. Real-time surveillance networks.

None of these technologies are the mark of the beast.

None of them, by themselves, fulfill biblical prophecy.

But together they reveal something important: humanity is constructing tools that make the level of control described in Revelation technologically conceivable.

That should not produce fear in us.

It should produce discernment.

The Bible never commands us to panic when we see the world changing. It calls us to remain watchful, grounded in truth and aware of the times.

Watching the Signs of the Times

A police drone removing a knife from a suspect’s hand is not the Beast system.

But it is another reminder that the technological barriers that once made global monitoring and enforcement seem impossible are rapidly disappearing before our eyes.

Orwell warned about a future in which people would surrender freedom for security.

The apostle John saw a future system, the Beast System, that would demand allegiance and exercise unprecedented control.

As we watch these technologies emerge, we should not respond with fear. We know who sits on the throne. But we should be discerning. We should be watchful. And we should recognize that many of the capabilities once dismissed as science fiction now exist in the real world.

Whether these developments ultimately play a role in the fulfillment of biblical prophecy remains to be seen. What cannot be denied is that the infrastructure for unprecedented surveillance, monitoring and enforcement is being built before our eyes.

As Jesus instructed, we must watch, discern the times and remain faithful. The technology may be new, but the warning is ancient.

Ancient Treasure Unearthed at Biblical City Connected to Joseph’s Family

A remarkable cache of ancient artifacts has been uncovered at the Egyptian city known in Scripture as On, bringing fresh attention to one of the most significant locations connected to the life of Joseph.

According to Fox News, archaeologists recently announced the discovery at ancient Heliopolis, a city mentioned multiple times in the Bible and identified in Genesis as the home of Potipherah, the priest whose daughter, Asenath, became Joseph’s wife.

The discovery was made at the Panhesy tomb site within the Heliopolis necropolis. Buried beneath a funerary structure containing human remains, researchers uncovered jewelry, scarabs, cosmetic containers, semi-precious stones and a copper mirror.

Among the finds were five pairs of gold earrings, carved scarabs, two alabaster kohl containers containing traces of ancient eye makeup and a third kohl container crafted from black obsidian.

Officials described the discovery as “the first nearly complete funerary assemblage ever discovered in the area.”

A City From the Pages of Genesis

Genesis 41:45 records that Pharaoh gave Joseph Asenath as his wife after elevating him to power in Egypt. Scripture identifies Asenath as the daughter of Potipherah, priest of On.

That places Heliopolis directly within the biblical account of Joseph. After being sold into slavery by his brothers, Joseph rose to become Egypt’s second-in-command and preserved the family line through which God’s covenant promises moved forward.

The artifacts reveal the culture, religious life and burial practices of a city connected to one of the Bible’s most important figures.

Archaeology Reveals the World of the Bible

Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities highlighted the significance of the site.

“The Panhesy cemetery is particularly significant because it served as a burial ground for prominent individuals across multiple eras, from Egypt’s Late Period through the Roman era and into the Christian period,” the ministry said.

Officials added that the discovery “builds upon earlier findings at the site during the current excavation season, including mudbrick and limestone funerary structures and two coffins found in fragmented condition.”

Heliopolis was one of ancient Egypt’s most influential religious centers and appears not only in Genesis but also in Jeremiah and Ezekiel.

The Bible records real people, real cities and real history. Discoveries such as this continue to uncover the world in which God’s Word unfolded. As archaeologists dig deeper into the ancient Middle East, the physical setting of Scripture continues to emerge from the ground.

A ‘Biblical Plague’ Is Overtaking Communities—and Some People Are Quoting Revelation

Swarms of Mormon crickets are overrunning parts of Idaho, Nevada and Oregon, covering roads, yards and homes in scenes that many observers say look like something out of Scripture.

The flightless insects, known for their destructive feeding habits and cannibalistic behavior, have appeared in unusually large numbers this year, prompting some on social media to compare the infestation to the locust judgments described in the book of Revelation.

In a Daily Mail report, meteorologist Matt Johnson said the outbreak is being driven by favorable environmental conditions.

“The massive Mormon cricket infestation taking over Ashton is primarily driven by the region’s dry winter and warm spring, which created ideal conditions for prolific, early egg hatching,” Johnson wrote on Facebook. “Additionally, these insects operate in multi-year population cycles and tend to peak during prolonged stretches of drought.”

Residents in Ashton, Idaho, near Yellowstone National Park, have described the situation as overwhelming, with videos showing lawns and driveways blanketed by the insects. One local reportedly described it as the worst infestation the area has seen in a century.

The insects pose more than a nuisance. They can devastate crops, damage gardens and create dangerous driving conditions when crushed in large numbers on highways.

“The crickets are causing nuisance conditions where they are creating road hazards due to large densities over the road and associated odor from crickets that have been run over [by motor vehicles],” Bureau of Land Management spokesman Joey Nikirk said.

A Revelation Parallel?

As images of the infestation spread online, some users began pointing to Revelation 9, where John describes a terrifying locust plague released during the sounding of the fifth trumpet.

One social media user shared the verse: “And there came out of the smoke Locusts upon the earth, and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.”

Is the comparison warranted?

Not directly.

Order James Lasher’s New Book, “The Revelation of Jesus” on !

The creatures described in Revelation are supernatural agents of judgment released during a specific prophetic event. Mormon crickets are natural insects whose population cycles are well documented by biologists and wildlife officials.

Yet the comparison reveals something deeper. When people see massive swarms of insects overrunning communities, their minds naturally turn to biblical imagery because Scripture repeatedly uses plagues, pestilence and disturbances in creation as signs of divine judgment and warnings to humanity.

Not the First Animal Event to Raise Questions

The Mormon cricket invasion is only the latest in a series of unusual animal-related events that have captured public attention in recent years.

Chronic Wasting Disease, often called “zombie deer disease,” continues spreading through deer populations across North America. Infected animals become emaciated, disoriented and lose their fear of humans.

Wildlife officials have also battled outbreaks of Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease, which has killed large numbers of deer in several states.

Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus has spread through wild rabbit populations in parts of the United States, while recurring avian influenza outbreaks have led to the destruction of millions of poultry birds.

None of these events proves biblical prophecy is being fulfilled. Disease outbreaks, insect swarms and animal die-offs have occurred throughout history.

But together they serve as reminders that creation itself is not functioning as it once did.

Creation Is Groaning

The apostle Paul wrote in Romans 8:22, “For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now.”

Jesus also warned that the last days would be marked by “famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places” (Matt. 24:7).

Those passages do not specifically predict Mormon crickets, diseased deer or dying rabbits. Yet they do paint a picture of a world under the weight of the Fall, awaiting redemption.

As swarms of insects blanket communities in the American West and unusual animal diseases continue appearing across the globe, Christians may rightly ask whether these events are simply natural cycles—or whether they are reminders that all creation is groaning for the return of its Creator.

And if the earth itself is groaning, could the animal kingdom be among the many witnesses pointing us toward the day when Christ returns, and all things are made new?

The Same God Who Raised Lazarus Still Works Miracles Today

The miracle that helped propel Jesus’ ministry into the national spotlight still carries a message for believers today.

In a recent teaching from John 12, Rabbi Kirt Schneider pointed to the raising of Lazarus as evidence that God continues to work supernaturally and that miracles remain a powerful witness to the truth of the Gospel.

“The people were coming because they were hearing what He did,” Schneider said.

As Jesus entered Jerusalem before His crucifixion, many in the crowd had witnessed or heard about Lazarus being raised from the dead.

“They wanted to see this prophet that had raised somebody from the dead,” Schneider said.

Signs and Wonders Follow the Gospel

Schneider said the growth of the early church was connected not only to preaching but also to God’s supernatural power.

“The Gospel of the Kingdom spread in the first-century church, and the Gospel of the Kingdom continues to be spread today when the Word of God and the Word of the Kingdom of Heaven is proclaimed, followed by signs and wonders,” he said.

He pointed to Jesus’ earthly ministry as the model.

“Everywhere Jesus went, He did three things: He preached the Gospel. He preached the Word. He healed the sick. He did miracles, and He performed healings and signs and wonders.”

According to Schneider, that pattern has not changed.

“The same way that the church began with the Word being preached and then it being confirmed with signs and wonders, this is the way the Gospel is still penetrating the earth today,” he said.

Order Rabbi Kirt Schneider’s New Book, “The Mystery of the Tabernacle” on !

When God Confirmed the Message

Schneider recounted the story of missionaries who spent years preaching in India with little response before discovering teachings on healing and miracles.

After returning with renewed faith in God’s supernatural power, the results were dramatically different.

“They began to declare healing over people,” Schneider said.

“People started getting healed. Signs and wonders and miracles took place.”

“From there, the Gospel exploded in India,” he said.

God Is Still a Miracle Worker

At the heart of Schneider’s message was a simple truth about God’s nature.

“God by nature is a miracle worker,” he said.

“By nature, the God that you have a relationship with is supernatural.”

Schneider pointed to the miracles recorded throughout Scripture as evidence that believers should continue to expect God to move today.

“All these miracles are what cause people to wake up and look up and pay attention,” he said.

Don’t Be Trapped in the Natural World

Schneider concluded by encouraging believers facing difficult circumstances to keep their eyes on God’s power rather than their limitations.

“Don’t be trapped in the natural world,” he said.

“There are answers for you and I beyond the natural world.”

He urged Christians to trust God for healing, deliverance and breakthrough.

“Believe God, beloved, to work wonders in your life,” Schneider said.

The lesson of Lazarus remains just as relevant now as it was 2,000 years ago.

“The same One that Jesus bore witness to, His Father, that was doing the miracles through Him, He’s at work in your life,” he said.

Ancient Roman Records Confirm What Christians Have Proclaimed for 2,000 Years

For nearly 2,000 years, Christians have declared a simple truth: Jesus Christ is not a myth, legend or literary invention. He is the Son of God, the Word made flesh.

Now, as secular scholars continue examining ancient sources outside the Bible, renewed attention is being given to historical records that affirm the existence of Jesus from writers who were not Christians and had no interest in advancing the Gospel.

According to a recent review published by the Biblical Archaeology Society, the writings of the Roman historian Tacitus and the Jewish historian Flavius Josephus remain among the strongest non-Christian references to Jesus in the ancient world.

The report noted that “most historians already accept that Jesus was a real historical figure, with debate focusing less on whether he existed and more on the details of his life and teachings.”

That conclusion is not surprising. The Gospel accounts have always stood as eyewitness testimony to the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. What continues to draw attention is the fact that secular historians repeatedly arrive at the same foundational conclusion: Jesus was a real person who lived in first-century Judea and whose impact changed the world.

Order Dinesh D’Souza’s New Book, “The Stones Cry Out” on !

A Roman Historian’s Testimony

One of the most significant references comes from Tacitus, one of Rome’s most respected historians.

Writing around A.D. 116 in his work Annals, Tacitus described Emperor Nero’s persecution of Christians after the Great Fire of Rome. In doing so, he referred to “Christus,” stating that He was executed during the reign of Emperor Tiberius by Pontius Pilate, the Roman governor of Judea.

The report emphasized that Tacitus was not sympathetic to Christianity.

“Far from promoting their beliefs, he described Christianity as a dangerous superstition and expressed contempt for its followers.”

That hostility is precisely why historians regard the reference as important. Tacitus had no motive to support Christian claims. Yet his account confirms that Jesus was executed under Roman authority and that His followers continued spreading His teachings after His death.

Josephus Provides Another Independent Witness

A second major source comes from Josephus, a Jewish historian born only a few years after Jesus’ crucifixion.

In Jewish Antiquities, Josephus referred to James as “the brother of Jesus-who-is-called-Messiah.”

A Daily Mail article noted that the reference appears naturally within a discussion about James.

“Jesus is not the focus of the passage, but is mentioned only to identify another person.”

Historians view that detail as significant because Josephus wrote as though his readers already knew who Jesus was.

Josephus also included a longer passage describing Jesus as a wise teacher who attracted followers. While scholars continue debating portions of that section, the report stated that “the majority still conclude that the passage was based on an original reference to Jesus written by Josephus himself.”

The Historical Record Points to Jesus

Taken together, the writings of Tacitus and Josephus affirm several key facts. Jesus lived in Judea. He gathered followers. He was executed under Pontius Pilate. His followers continued proclaiming His message after His death. The Christian movement spread rapidly throughout the Roman Empire.

The report also highlighted a remarkable reality about the ancient world.

According to the historical record, opponents of Christianity accused Jesus of “false teaching, deception and even sorcery.”

Yet one charge is notably absent.

“Virtually none argued that he was entirely fictional.”

That reality remains true today. Serious historical scholarship no longer centers on whether Jesus existed. The evidence is overwhelming.

These records do not create faith. Our faith rests in Jesus Christ, the truth of Scripture and the power of His resurrection.

These ancient sources demonstrate that the historical record continues to align with what believers have proclaimed from the beginning. Long before modern historians debated the evidence, the church was declaring the truth that still transforms lives today:

Jesus Christ entered human history, died for our sins, rose again and reigns as Lord.

JD Vance’s Warning to Israel Echoes a Prophetic Reality the World Can No Longer Ignore

Vice President J.D. Vance made headlines last week with a stark warning to Israeli leaders and critics of the Trump administration’s Iran agreement. But beyond the political controversy lies a deeper reality that Bible-believing Christians should not overlook.

Defending President Donald Trump’s approach to Iran, Vance delivered one of the most striking assessments of Israel’s international standing heard from a senior American official in years.

“Donald J. Trump is the only head of state in the entire world who is sympathetic to the nation of Israel at this moment in time,” Vance said.

He followed that with another remarkable statement:

“If I was in the cabinet of the Israeli government, I might not be attacking the only powerful ally that I have anywhere left in the entire world.”

Whether one agrees with Vance’s political conclusions or not, his comments highlight something that should command our attention.

Just weeks earlier, President Trump himself was reported to have delivered a blunt message to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a heated phone call over Israel’s military operations.

According to Axios, citing officials familiar with the conversation, Trump warned Netanyahu that “Everybody hates Israel because of this.”

Reuters later confirmed the call took place and that Trump acknowledged rebuking Netanyahu, though the White House did not independently verify every reported word of the exchange.

Trump also confirmed that he called Netanyahu “crazy” during the conversation, reflecting growing frustration over the conflict.

These developments are impossible to ignore.

Order Jonathan Cahn’s New Book, “The Altar of Pergamon” on !

The Bible repeatedly describes a future in which Israel becomes increasingly isolated among the nations. The prophet Zechariah wrote of a day when “all nations of the earth” would gather against Jerusalem. Ezekiel describes a future coalition assembling against Israel. The book of Revelation portrays mounting global hostility toward God’s purposes and His covenant people.

No serious observer can deny that Israel’s standing has deteriorated dramatically since the Oct. 7 attacks.

Israel’s war against Hamas has drawn relentless criticism. Its campaign against Hezbollah has generated international condemnation. Military actions against Iran have sparked diplomatic backlash. University campuses across the West have erupted in anti-Israel demonstrations. International organizations have intensified scrutiny. Politicians throughout Europe and North America are increasingly distancing themselves from Jerusalem.

Every military action is examined. Every strike is condemned. Every decision is debated on a global stage.

That does not mean every criticism is unjustified. Nations are accountable for their actions. Governments make mistakes. Military campaigns deserve scrutiny.

But the broader trend is becoming difficult to miss.

When the vice president of the United States publicly describes President Trump as the only world leader sympathetic to Israel, it reveals just how isolated the Jewish state has become in the eyes of many observers.

The more important question is what happens next.

If the Trump administration were to leave power, or if a future American government significantly reduced support for Israel, the geopolitical landscape would change overnight. Israel could find itself facing unprecedented diplomatic pressure from international institutions, hostile regional powers and a growing chorus of critics throughout the West.

Such a scenario would increasingly resemble the conditions described by the prophets thousands of years ago.

For years, many dismissed those passages as impossible. America was strong. Israel had allies. The West broadly supported the Jewish state.

Today, senior officials are openly discussing Israel’s growing isolation.

The headlines are changing, alliances are shifting, and the prophetic implications are becoming harder to ignore.

Keir Starmer Resigns in Shame: Labour PM Quits After Failing Great Britain

Keir Starmer resigned Monday as Britain’s prime minister and Labour Party leader, ending a brief and troubled tenure marked by broken promises, electoral disaster and failure to confront a national scandal over grooming gangs that has eroded public trust.

Starmer, who led Labour to a landslide victory in July 2024, announced his departure outside 10 Downing Street after facing an internal party mutiny. He will remain as caretaker prime minister until a successor is chosen, with nominations opening July 9 and the contest expected to conclude before Parliament returns in September.

“Every decision I’ve taken has been about putting the country I love first,” Starmer said in his resignation speech. “That is why I will resign as leader of the Labour Party.”

Order Jonathan Cahn’s New Book, “The Altar of Pergamon” on !

His exit comes less than two years into office, making him the latest in a revolving door of short-lived British prime ministers. Andy Burnham, the former mayor of Greater Manchester, is the frontrunner to replace him.

Starmer’s government failed Great Britain on multiple fronts. Despite campaigning on stability and economic renewal, he presided over a struggling economy, policy flip-flops and a sense of directionless leadership that left voters disillusioned. Labour suffered devastating losses in the May 2026 local elections, shedding nearly 1,500 seats and control of dozens of councils as Reform UK made major gains.

The timing of Starmer’s resignation, just days after the release of a high-profile independent Rape Gang Inquiry Report chaired by Reform UK MP Rupert Lowe, revealed deeper failures.

The report, released around June 16, highlighted decades of institutional cover-ups and estimated up to 250,000 victims of organized group-based child sexual exploitation, predominantly by gangs of Pakistani Muslim men. It reignited fury over authorities’ reluctance to address cultural and religious patterns in the crimes — issues critics say Starmer’s Labour Party long downplayed.

Critics also accused Starmer’s government of “two-tier policing,” pointing to cases in which citizens were jailed for social media posts, often on Facebook, while authorities appeared slower to act on grooming gang scandals and other community tensions. Starmer’s time as Director of Public Prosecutions and his government’s handling of related inquiries drew renewed scrutiny amid the report’s findings. Combined with broader dissatisfaction, the scandals amplified perceptions of a government out of touch and unwilling to protect the most vulnerable.

Once hailed as a steady pragmatist, Starmer leaves office unloved and largely ineffective, his premiership another casualty of Britain’s recent political instability.

John Bevere: Jesus Isn’t Coming Back for a Relevant Church

The modern church talks a lot about relevance.

Church leaders discuss engagement, community, leadership and influence. Entire ministries are built around helping churches connect with culture and reach the next generation.

John Bevere believes those things matter. But he says Christians have missed something far more important.

“The one and only description of the church that Jesus is coming back for,” Bevere said on a recent episode of the John Bevere Podcast, “here it is. Ephesians 5:25-27. Christ loved the church. He gave up His life for her to make her holy and clean.”

Bevere was quick to clarify that relevance has value.

“It is not a relevant church. Now, is relevance important? Boy, it is. You will not win the lost if you’re not relevant,” he said.

But he warned that relevance is not the defining characteristic of Christ’s bride.

Instead, Scripture points to something many churches rarely emphasize anymore.

“Holy.”

Holy, Holy, Holy

Bevere pointed to Isaiah 6 and Revelation 4, where heavenly beings stand before God’s throne crying out, “Holy, holy, holy.”

“What I find so interesting is they’re not crying faithful, faithful, faithful,” he said. “They’re not even crying love, love, love.”

“The predominant characteristic of God is His holiness,” Bevere said. “And the same is true for His bride.”

According to Bevere, many believers have become uncomfortable with the subject because holiness has often been associated with legalism.

Order John Bevere’s Best-Selling Book, “The Bait of Satan” on !

But he argues that rejecting legalism should never mean abandoning holiness.

“The Bible says that the grace of God teaches us to deny worldliness and ungodly desires, but we should live holy,” he said.

He also challenged modern preaching that focuses almost exclusively on encouragement while avoiding correction.

Quoting Paul’s instructions to Timothy, Bevere noted that Scripture calls ministers to “correct, rebuke and encourage.”

Then he made a sobering observation.

“We got rid of the first two and we took the encourage and made it the goal.”

A Bride Set Apart

Holiness is not about rules. It is about relationship.

“The reason holiness is so scary to some people is because people who talk about it make it the end goal,” he said. “Holiness isn’t the end goal. It’s a doorway into intimacy and communion with Almighty God.”

That intimacy, he said, requires believers to be fully devoted to Christ.

Drawing from Scripture’s description of God as jealous for His people, Bevere compared holiness to the commitment found in marriage.

“A girl, when she gets married to a guy, says goodbye to 3.9 billion guys,” he said. “You’re the only one that I’m giving my heart and my life to for the rest of my life.”

In the same way, Christians cannot claim devotion to Jesus while continuing to embrace the values of a world that opposes Him.

“He’s a fiercely jealous lover,” Bevere said.

His message ultimately comes back to a question every believer must answer.

Not whether we are relevant, popular or comfortable.

But whether we are ready.

“The question I want you to ask yourself is, will you be ready?” Bevere said. “Will you have a wedding garment that is clean and bright because that wedding garment is made out of your obedient actions to Him?”

That is the defining issue facing the church today. Jesus is not returning for a church that looks like the world. He is returning for a holy bride prepared for His coming.

Greg Laurie: What Every Christian Needs to Know About Demons, Spiritual Warfare and the Authority of Jesus

Spiritual warfare is not a subject we can afford to ignore.

While many believers would rather focus on more comfortable topics, Pastor Greg Laurie says Scripture gives us a clear picture of the reality of demonic activity, the tactics of the enemy and the authority we have through Jesus Christ.

In a recent teaching on spiritual warfare, Laurie warned that demons are real, active and seeking to oppose God’s purposes. At the same time, he emphasized that Satan’s power is limited, we belong to God and Jesus Christ remains supreme over every force of darkness.

“The purpose of demons seems to be two-fold,” Laurie said. “Number one, they seek to hinder the purposes of God. And number two, they seek to extend the power of Satan.”

Demons Are Real and Aggressive

Laurie began by addressing a truth many Christians rarely discuss.

“Three things you need to know about demons,” he said. “Number one, they’re real and aggressive.”

He explained that many demonic forces are currently active in the world.

“They’re not all bound in this bottomless pit. This will happen later. Right now, many are roaming freely in sort of a search and destroy mission.”

Laurie pointed to the book of Job, where Satan described his activity before the Lord.

“Well, I’ve just been going back and forth across the earth watching everything that’s going on.”

Laurie added, “He’s just walking around, checking things out, looking for opportunities, looking for ways to bring misery and destruction.”

That is why Scripture warns us to remain spiritually alert.

Quoting 1 Peter, Laurie said, “Be careful. Watch out for attacks from the devil, your great enemy. He prowls around like a roaring lion looking for some victim to devour.”

To illustrate the danger, Laurie recounted the story of lions that developed a taste for human prey and quietly entered camps at night searching for victims. The point was not to create fear but to emphasize vigilance.

“So, I don’t say this to freak you out. I just say this that the devil is poised and ready to strike.”

His response was straightforward.

“So, put your spiritual armor on and be careful.”

Order Isaiah Saldivar’s Book, “How to Cast Out Demons” on !

Satan’s Power Has Boundaries

Although Laurie acknowledged the reality of spiritual warfare, he stressed that Satan is not all-powerful.

“Number two, though powerful, demons and the devil himself have clear limitations.”

He repeated the statement for emphasis.

“Though powerful, the devil and his demons have clear limitations.”

Laurie then shared what he described as a truth the enemy would rather keep hidden.

“Let me tell you something that Satan does not want you to know. His power is considerable, but it is still limited.”

God remains sovereign over every spiritual battle.

“Remember, this is all allowed by God.”

According to Laurie, even the demonic forces described in Revelation operate within limits established by the Lord.

We Belong to God

One of the most encouraging portions of Laurie’s message centered on our identity in Christ.

“Remember I pointed out last time that when you become a believer, when you put your faith in Jesus Christ, you become His property, which is a good thing.”

He continued, “The Bible says you’re not your own. You’ve been bought with a price, and God effectively puts His ID tag on you.”

That reality carries profound significance for every believer.

“Which means you’re under His protection.”

Laurie said that belonging to Christ changes everything when it comes to spiritual warfare.

“The devil can read, and he sees that ID tag and knows that he can do nothing in the life of the Christian without the express permission of God.”

Rather than living in fear of the enemy, we can live in confidence because our lives are in God’s hands.

Demons Tremble at the Name of Jesus

Laurie then turned to the account of the demon-possessed man whose demons identified themselves as Legion.

“They said, ‘Don’t send us to the bottomless pit.'”

Their response revealed a powerful truth about Christ’s authority.

“They’re begging us because they know the power of Christ.”

Laurie emphasized that Jesus was never threatened by the demonic realm.

“He was in control.”

The lesson remains the same today.

“Jesus is more powerful than the devil. Jesus is more powerful than any demon.”

For us, that truth changes everything. We do not serve a Savior who struggles against darkness. We serve the risen King who has already defeated it.

Freedom Is Available Through Christ

Laurie concluded by speaking directly to those battling addictions, destructive habits and strongholds that seem impossible to overcome.

“He can help you overcome whatever struggle you’re facing right now.”

He specifically addressed those who feel trapped.

“Maybe it’s an addiction. Maybe it’s a lifestyle you can’t break free from. You say, ‘There’s no way out.’ There is a way out. It’s through Christ.”

The answer is not greater willpower. The answer is surrendering completely to Jesus Christ.

“You have to come to Him and say, ‘God, I’ve tried to do this on my own, and it failed. Help me.’ And He will help you.”

Our Confidence Is in Jesus Christ

Laurie’s message serves as an important reminder that spiritual warfare is real. The enemy seeks to oppose God’s purposes and bring destruction wherever possible. Yet Scripture reveals a greater reality. We do not belong to the enemy. We belong to God.

Because we have placed our faith in Jesus Christ, we stand under His protection. We are called to remain vigilant, put on the armor of God, stay rooted in His Word and walk in obedience to Him. We do so from a position of confidence, not fear.

The same Jesus who commanded Legion is the same Jesus who reigns today. The same Jesus before whom demons trembled is the same Jesus who lives within us through the Holy Spirit. No force of darkness can overcome His power. No demonic strategy can overturn His purposes. No stronghold is greater than His authority.

Our focus should never be on magnifying the power of darkness. Our focus should be on magnifying the power of Jesus Christ. The enemy is active, but our King reigns. The enemy seeks to destroy, but our Savior still delivers, restores and sets captives free.

As Laurie declared, “Jesus is more powerful than the devil. Jesus is more powerful than any demon.”

That truth has not changed. It never will.
