Groundbreaking New Film Explores Real Evidence for Angels and Demons

Conversations about angels, demons and spiritual warfare are often pushed to the sidelines in modern culture. Journalist and author Billy Hallowell believes that needs to change.

Speaking during a recent interview with Charisma Media at the National Religious Broadcasters convention, Hallowell discussed his new CBN documentary, Investigating the Supernatural: Angels and Demons, which releases Monday, March 16.

The project explores real-world accounts of spiritual encounters while urging believers to take the unseen realm seriously.

“I think the big thing for me, and I’ve been a Christian my whole life, is the fact that there is evidence for the supernatural,” Hallowell said. “There’s evidence today that these things are still happening.”

Hallowell explained that while faith remains central to Christianity, investigating miracles and spiritual encounters revealed compelling cases that strengthened his confidence in the reality of the unseen world.

“I’m kind of a natural skeptic,” he said. “If you’re telling me you’ve encountered angels or demons, prove that to me. What I started to find was information that could only be known had somebody gone through the things they were saying they had gone through.”

The documentary includes chilling real-life cases investigated by psychiatrist Dr. Richard Gallagher, who helped evaluate whether certain cases were psychological or spiritual. According to Hallowell, some of those encounters challenged even hardened skeptics.

“When you’re dealing with extreme possession, which is what this woman was dealing with, you’re going to have these sorts of examples pop out at you,” he said.

Beyond documenting supernatural encounters, Hallowell also emphasizes that spiritual warfare is a daily reality for believers. He points to Ephesians 6 as a reminder that Christians must be spiritually prepared.

“Oppression is something that’s very real and I think far more prevalent than people are willing to address,” he said. “When churches do not talk about evil and they don’t equip people to battle like Ephesians 6 tells us, you’re actually leaving people open.”

Hallowell also believes the church must reclaim discussions about supernatural topics rather than allowing secular culture to dominate the conversation.

“We need to stop allowing church topics to be Hollywood topics,” he said. “We are too afraid to address them.”

His new film aims to challenge viewers, believers and skeptics alike, to wrestle with the reality of the supernatural.

“I think this film provides a framework even for non-believers,” Hallowell said. “You will be challenged and you’ll have to ask yourself what you actually believe.”

Investigating the Supernatural: Angels and Demons is now available through CBN. Those interested in exploring the evidence and hearing the powerful stories for themselves can watch the documentary today.

Pastor Reveals Spiritual Warfare May Be Shaping Global Conflict

Rising tensions involving Iran have drawn worldwide attention, but Scripture teaches that conflicts between nations are not merely political or military struggles.

Pastor Kap Chatfield says the Bible reveals that unseen spiritual forces influence events that unfold in the natural world.

Chatfield points to the apostle Paul’s words in Ephesians 6, which describe the true nature of the battles believers face.

“Ephesians chapter 6, Paul says that we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, powers, rulers of darkness, and spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places,” he said.

That passage reveals that spiritual warfare operates with order and authority rather than chaos.

“So when we talk about spiritual warfare, it’s hard to understand it because most people don’t see it,” Chatfield said. “For the longest time, I thought like every demon is just a demon. But what we see from what he says is there’s actually order. There’s rank and file.”

Principalities and Territorial Authority

Chatfield explains that the first rank Paul mentions, principalities, refers to spiritual powers that exercise authority over specific regions.

“A principality is specifically a demonic or a dark spirit from the kingdom of darkness that has geographical territory that it has jurisdiction over,” he said.

These spiritual forces operate over nations and regions and influence what unfolds in the natural world.

Daniel 10 Reveals Spiritual Warfare

The book of Daniel gives a clear biblical example of this unseen conflict. Daniel prayed and fasted for 21 days before receiving an answer from God. When the angel finally appeared, he explained why the message had been delayed.

“I have come in answer to your prayer, but for 21 days the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia blocked my way,” the angel said.

Chatfield highlights the significance of that moment.

“The prayer got to heaven on day one,” he said. “The message on its way back got held up.”

The angel explained that the archangel Michael stepped in to confront the spiritual opposition.

Spiritual Events Come Before Natural Events

Chatfield explains that events in the spiritual realm precede what appears in the physical world. He describes this as a spillover effect.

“Everything in the natural realm first begins in the spirit realm. It’s not the other way around,” he said.

He compares the natural world to a shadow that reflects a deeper reality.

“The natural realm is a shadow of what’s happening in the spirit realm,” he said. “How bizarre would it be if I walked up to you and I saw your shadow on the floor and I started shaking your shadow’s hand?”

That picture shows how easily people focus on visible events while ignoring the spiritual reality behind them.

Applying the Biblical Pattern to Iran

This biblical framework sheds light on modern geopolitical developments, including events surrounding Iran, which occupies the territory historically known as Persia.

“When a global leader such as Donald Trump and then the prime minister of Israel, Netanyahu, coordinate a collaborated attack to take out the supreme leader in the natural over the area of Persia,” Chatfield said, “that communicates to me that something first happened in the spirit realm.”

The removal of a leader in that region reflects a deeper shift.

“For whatever reason there’s a vacancy and allowed the actual supreme leader to be taken out,” he said.

Scripture teaches that we as Christians do not fight merely against earthly powers. The Bible reveals a deeper spiritual conflict unfolding behind the scenes of world events, reminding us that prayer and spiritual awareness remain essential as history continues to unfold.

Why the Great Tribulation Must Happen According to Bible Prophecy

Christians often hear about the coming Great Tribulation described in the Bible, yet many still ask why such a dramatic period must occur. Scripture reveals that this future season of upheaval is not random chaos. It is part of God’s prophetic plan to shake the earth, judge evil and bring history to the moment when Christ returns to rule.

Evangelist Perry Stone explained that the Great Tribulation is a clearly defined period revealed throughout Scripture. He pointed to Daniel’s prophecy to describe its timeline.

“Daniel 9:27, a period of seven years divided up in the book of Revelation into 42 months for the first half and 42 months for the second half.”

Jesus warned that this time will surpass every crisis humanity has faced.

“For then shall be great tribulation such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time nor ever shall be.”

Stone said several major developments unfold during this period.

Cosmic Signs Will Shake the Earth

The Tribulation includes dramatic disturbances in the heavens.

“Revelation chapter 8 indicates an asteroid is coming to affect a third of the earth. Matthew 24 says the stars will fall from heaven. Those are going to be large meteorites and things of that nature.”

These events signal a cosmic shaking that affects the entire planet.

Natural Disasters Will Intensify

Scripture also describes widespread disasters connected to God’s judgments.

“There is a large number of natural disasters that are linked to what the book of Revelation sees as angels pouring out vials and trumpets blowing trumpets of judgments that impact the earth.”

Stone pointed to major earthquakes volcanic eruptions and roaring seas that indicate tsunamis.

Divine Judgment Will Be Poured Out

Revelation describes the Great Tribulation as a period of direct divine judgment.

“It will be a period of time that the early part of the book of Revelation calls the wrath of the Lamb. And the latter part of the 22 chapters of the book of Revelation calls the wrath of God.”

These judgments include darkness intense heat drought and severe consequences for those who accept the mark of the beast.

The Worst Time in Human History

Jesus made clear that no period in history compares to what is coming.

“For then shall be great tribulation such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time nor ever shall be.”

Scripture also says the destruction would be so severe that life would not survive if the time were not limited.

“Except those days be shortened there would be no flesh saved but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.”

Satan Will Be Cast Down to the Earth

Another major purpose of the Great Tribulation is the removal of Satan from the heavenly realms.

“In Revelation 12 Satan has been given access to the third heaven to be an accuser of the brethren.”

That access ends when he is cast down.

“He will then have access only to the earth and he comes down to the earth with great wrath knowing that he has but a short time.”

The Great Tribulation reveals the seriousness of God’s judgment, but it also points to Christ’s ultimate victory. Prophecy shows that history is moving toward the return of Jesus and the restoration of His kingdom on the earth.

Pastor Allen Jackson Warns Christians to Prepare Their Minds for What’s Coming

Many Christians are asking what the future holds as the world grows more unstable and confusing. Cultural norms are shifting, language is constantly being redefined and global tensions continue to rise.

Pastor Allen Jackson says moments like this call us to understand what true peace looks like and prepare our hearts and minds for what lies ahead.

Jackson says we must pay attention to how language is being used in modern culture. “Words have many definitions. Language is being manipulated these days in some very unsettling ways,” he said. “You have to pay attention to words and language and definitions.”

He explains that even the word “peace” is often misunderstood. In Scripture, peace does not mean life without conflict. Jesus promised His peace to us, yet His own life was filled with opposition and trials. “What you find as you follow Jesus through His life is that He has a calm assurance of God’s abiding presence,” Jackson said. “No matter what He faces.”

Peace in the Middle of Conflict

Jesus warned us not to let our hearts be troubled or afraid. That warning shows we will face circumstances that could produce fear. Yet the peace Christ gives us allows us to stand firm.

“You can have my assurance that whether you’re facing a storm or a tyrant or an angry mob, that God’s power is present and able to deliver,” Jackson said.

Jackson says many people place their hope in governments, economies or systems, but those things cannot provide lasting security. “At the end of the day, the only security for our future is God Himself,” he said.

Faith Must Lead to Action

Jackson says Christians must move beyond treating faith as an intellectual exercise. Belief must lead to courage and action. Referring to 1 Peter, he points to the command to prepare our minds.

“Prepare your minds for action,” Jackson said. “You better be ready to do something with what you believe.”

He says we will need courage, determination and perseverance to stand against evil. Darkness is not timid and it does not retreat easily.

God Is Still Moving

Jackson also reminds us that God often works through ordinary people who do not see the full picture. Zechariah and Elizabeth received the miracle birth of John the Baptist not just to answer their prayers but to advance God’s kingdom.

“Children aren’t pets,” Jackson said. “Your family was given to you by God for the advancement of His kingdom.”

Jackson says the church today carries a similar calling. Just as John the Baptist prepared the way for Jesus, Christians are helping prepare the world for Christ’s return.

“When Jesus gave His most lengthy prophetic discourse, the ultimate sign of the end of the age was this gospel we preached in the whole world,” Jackson said. “And then the end will come.”

His message is ultimately one of hope. God is still moving across the earth and inviting us to take part in His work. As we prepare our minds, strengthen our faith and boldly share the gospel, we help carry the message of Christ to a world that desperately needs His peace.

Is God’s Hand on Marco Rubio as Hope for a Free Cuba Grows?

Growing momentum is building around the possibility of a freer future for Cuba, and some observers believe history may be aligning in remarkable ways.

With the United States turning renewed attention toward the island nation, the presence of Cuban American Marco Rubio as Secretary of State has brought a unique dimension to the conversation. Rubio has long carried a personal connection to the issue. As the son of Cuban immigrants, he was shaped by the dream of a free Cuba from a young age and reflects the hopes shared by many Cuban families who fled communist rule in search of liberty.

Cuba has remained under communist leadership for decades, from Fidel Castro to his brother Raul Castro and beyond, leaving generations of citizens living under political and economic oppression.

Today, however, the situation appears increasingly fragile. Economic hardship and humanitarian challenges have intensified on the island, creating conditions many believe could open the door for historic change.

At the same time, the current U.S. administration has signaled a strong interest in addressing the situation in Cuba, with Rubio playing a central role in shaping policy and diplomacy surrounding the region.

The unfolding developments raise a deeper question about purpose and timing. Rubio’s lifelong desire to see Cuba free now intersects with his position as the leader of American foreign policy, creating a moment that some view as more than a political coincidence. Scripture reminds us that God has plans for peace and hope, and moments like these invite reflection on how those plans can unfold even through difficult histories.

To explore the full breakdown of Marco Rubio’s role and what may lie ahead for Cuba, watch the video above.

Europe’s Division Could Be Strengthening Russia Exactly as Ezekiel 38 Reveals

Europe is facing growing internal division as leaders struggle to maintain unity over the war in Ukraine and sanctions against Russia. A recent clash inside the European Union has exposed deep fractures that many analysts say could reshape the geopolitical balance of power.

Pastor James Kaddis says these developments carry significance that extends far beyond politics. In his analysis of the situation, Kaddis argues that events unfolding in Europe are aligning with the geopolitical framework described in Bible prophecy.

“If you think Russia is in trouble, think again,” Kaddis said. “Although the world may be converging on it, we see more and more evidence that Ezekiel 38 will eventually play out.”

Hungary’s Veto Exposes Deep Fractures in Europe

The controversy erupted after Hungary issued a double veto inside the European Union, blocking both a new sanctions package against Russia and a massive financial aid proposal for Ukraine.

European leaders reacted with anger after Budapest halted what would have been the EU’s 20th sanctions package against Moscow. Hungary also blocked a proposed €90 billion emergency loan to Kyiv.

Kaddis says the move revealed a deeper problem within the European alliance.

“The first thing it does is it literally breaks the illusion that there is some kind of unity within the European Union,” he said.

That fracture matters because sanctions against Russia depend heavily on unified participation from European governments. When that unity collapses, pressure on Moscow weakens dramatically.

A Divided Europe Strengthens Russia

Kaddis says Hungary’s decision carries major geopolitical consequences.

“Sanctions are only going to work when there’s unity,” he said. “The very moment that unity breaks, the fractures don’t help the situation.”

The dispute has also exposed what he calls growing sanctions fatigue across Europe as energy costs and economic pressure continue to weigh on national governments.

Hungary is not alone in feeling that strain.

“Hungary is likely not alone in this frustration,” Kaddis said. “Hungary happens to be the only one that’s bold enough to show it by bringing a veto.”

He notes that Russia has historically relied on patience in geopolitical conflicts.

“Russia loves sanctions fatigue,” he said. “That’s how Russia wins everything. Russia can outlast virtually anybody.”

Energy Dependence Keeps Europe Tied to Moscow

Energy remains one of the most powerful factors shaping Europe’s response to Russia.

Russian oil and gas still play a critical role in the European energy supply, and Hungary’s position helps maintain that flow.

“Energy leverage has always been Russia’s major geopolitical strength,” Kaddis said.

European leaders face enormous pressure from voters when energy costs rise or supplies become unstable. Kaddis says that reality limits how aggressively European governments are willing to confront Moscow.

“The longer Europe depends on Russian energy, the less likely it is to escalate any type of confrontation,” he said.

Political Divisions Are Growing Across Europe

The dispute with Hungary reflects a broader political shift spreading across Europe.

Nationalist and populist movements are gaining influence in multiple countries, and frustration with EU leadership continues to grow.

“When one nation stands there to openly defy Brussels, many other people are going to normalize this type of dissent,” Kaddis said.

That trend could weaken the political cohesion of the European Union even further.

Ezekiel 38 Describes a Powerful Russia

The geopolitical implications become even more significant when viewed through the lens of Bible prophecy.

The prophecy in the Book of Ezekiel describes a powerful northern coalition that eventually moves against Israel.

Kaddis says the prophecy does not describe a collapsing Russia.

“Ezekiel 38 does not describe a country, Russia, in a state of collapse,” he said. “It describes a very confident, highly organized nation.”

He believes the current geopolitical environment is helping create the conditions necessary for that scenario.

“A stronger Russia is what’s happening here,” Kaddis said. “There’s no way to avoid it.”

Europe’s Fragmentation Makes the Prophecy More Plausible

According to Kaddis, Europe’s growing divisions increase the likelihood that Russia will gain geopolitical influence.

“The more divided that Europe ends up becoming, the more that division creates the alignment of Ezekiel 38 as being more plausible geopolitically speaking,” he said.

He argues that the prophecy requires a Russia that is strong and confident on the world stage.

“Ezekiel 38 describes a Russia that is strong and that cannot be stopped,” Kaddis said.

Why Europe’s Crisis Could Reshape Global Power

Kaddis also points to the possibility that political fractures inside Europe could eventually force leaders to consolidate power under a new structure in order to maintain stability.

“The falling apart of this union may be the very thing that creates the confederation,” he said. “They have to yield their power to save the union.”

That kind of political realignment has long been associated with end times prophecy.

A Reminder That God’s Word Stands

Kaddis says believers should not view these developments with fear. Instead, he says they should see them as confirmation that Scripture continues to unfold exactly as written.

“There’s no greater time to be living on this earth,” he said. “There’s no more exciting time than to be living on this earth.”

He urged Christians to stay rooted in Scripture and continue studying Bible prophecy carefully.

“This is why I encourage you to study Bible prophecy,” Kaddis said. “God always gets it right.”

1 Overlooked Sign of the End Times Jesus Warned About

Many believers feel the tension in the air. Global conflict, political uncertainty and constant news coverage of war have caused many Christians to ask the same question.

Are we watching the end times unfold?

End times speculation surges whenever major events shake the world. Tensions in the Middle East, wars between nations and economic uncertainty often lead to renewed conversations about biblical prophecy.

But according to evangelist David Diga Hernandez, there is one critical sign of the end times that the modern church often overlooks. Instead of focusing on fear or chaos, Hernandez says believers should focus on the advancing kingdom of God.

Why So Many People Are Talking About the End Times

Hernandez said many Christians are sensing what he describes as a spiritual intensification across the world.

“I know that you can sense it in the spirit because many Christians all around the world are discerning an intensification of spiritual activity,” Hernandez said.

Global tensions often cause people to assume the end is near. News of wars and geopolitical turmoil fuels speculation about prophetic timelines.

But Hernandez urged believers to respond with faith rather than panic.

“Firstly, I think we need to be praying. Whatever the political implications, we need to pray that these events ultimately open more doors for the gospel,” he said.

He also reminded believers that fear is not the posture Scripture calls Christians to take.

“God has not given you a spirit of fear, but one of power, of love, and of a sound mind.”

Jesus Warned About Fear and Deception

Hernandez pointed to the words of Jesus in Matthew 24 when the disciples asked what signs would signal the end of the age.

Christ warned that deception would increase.

“Many will come in my name claiming I am the Messiah,” Hernandez said, quoting the passage. “They will deceive many.”

Jesus also warned about wars, conflict and global instability. But Hernandez emphasized that Christ clearly said these events do not mean the end has arrived.

“You’re going to hear often about wars and rumors of wars. This isn’t a reason to fear,” Hernandez said.

According to the teaching of Jesus, these conditions are only the beginning.

“These things must take place, but the end won’t follow immediately.”

The Sign Many Christians Overlook

Hernandez said the most important sign of the end times receives far less attention than the others.

He pointed to Matthew 24:14 as the defining marker.

“And the good news about the kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world so that all nations will hear it and then the end will come,” Hernandez said.

He said the church often focuses on global chaos while ignoring the sign Jesus highlighted.

“I’m hearing that there’s this focus on what causes fear. There’s the focus on the chaos. There’s the focus on what looks like defeat,” Hernandez said.

“But Jesus says the end’s not going to follow those signs. The end is not yet. This gospel shall be preached to the ends of the earth and then the end will come.”

The Kingdom of God Is Expanding

Hernandez said believers must understand that Christ already secured victory through His death and resurrection.

“When Christ died on the cross and he rose again from the dead, he shamed the powers of darkness. He embarrassed the devil and he took authority,” Hernandez said.

Jesus reigns above every government and power.

“Governments can make their plans. Wicked people can make their plans. But Jesus is in charge, not them.”

Because Christ rules, Hernandez said the church should view the end times through a lens of victory rather than defeat.

“The kingdom of God is expanding. The kingdom of God expands in dominion. The kingdom of God expands in power. The kingdom of God expands in influence in the culture, in our lives, in our families.”

Why Believers Should Not Live in Fear

Hernandez said a climate of fear has developed among many believers in recent years, especially following global disruptions and constant exposure to alarming headlines.

He said this environment has pushed some Christians toward suspicion and conspiracy thinking.

“The focus of the believer isn’t conspiracy. The focus of the believer isn’t necessarily just the political climate,” Hernandez said.

Instead, Christians must remain grounded in the truth of the gospel and the authority of Christ.

“Don’t forget who you are in Christ. Don’t forget who ultimately has the victory.”

The Real Focus of the End Times

Hernandez said the church must remain committed to the mission Jesus gave His followers.

Christ commanded believers to take the gospel to every nation.

“Go and make disciples of all the nations,” Hernandez said, quoting Jesus’ instruction to His followers.

The task of the church remains unchanged regardless of world events.

“Souls still need saving, the gospel still needs to be preached and the church still needs strengthening and edification,” Hernandez said.

A Future Marked by Harvest

Hernandez believes the final chapters of history will be marked not by the collapse of the church but by a sweeping harvest of souls.

Jesus described the harvest as plentiful, and Hernandez believes that promise points to a global move of God.

“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few,” he said.

For believers, the message of the end times is not one of fear.

It is a call to faith.

“The kingdom is expanding,” Hernandez said. “The future is bright. God is in control.”

Could the Tribulation Begin in 2030? Biblical Prophecy Timeline Points to Warning Signs

A prominent prophecy teacher says biblical patterns, astronomical signs and the Jewish calendar may point to a possible tribulation window beginning within the next few years.

Pastor Mark Biltz, founder of El Shaddai Ministries, recently outlined a timeline he believes could indicate when the tribulation described in the Book of Revelation might begin.

Biltz argues that a combination of biblical prophecy, Jewish calendar cycles and astronomical events suggests the early 2030s may be a critical period.

“God said the sun and the moon were for signs,” Biltz said, pointing to Genesis 1:14. “What I am explaining is the signs for the times and the seasons of the Lord.”

Signs in the heavens

Biltz teaches that the sun and moon were created as prophetic markers tied to God’s appointed times. He believes eclipses can signal major events when they occur on or near biblical feast days.

“A solar eclipse means war coming for a nation, a Gentile nation,” Biltz said. “A lunar eclipse means war coming to Israel.”

He points to several historical events he says align with eclipse activity, including the destruction of the Second Temple in A.D. 70, the expulsion of Jews from Spain in 1492, the rebirth of Israel in 1948 and the Six-Day War in 1967.

Seven-year cycles and prophecy

A major part of Biltz’s interpretation centers on the biblical Shemitah cycle, a seven-year pattern described in the Torah.

He believes this structure is key to understanding Daniel’s prophecy of “70 weeks,” which he interprets as 70 cycles of seven years. According to Biltz, the final seven-year cycle corresponds to the tribulation described in Revelation.

He argues that the tribulation must begin on Rosh Hashanah at the start of a Shemitah cycle.

“Daniel was Jewish,” Biltz said. “The tribulation cannot start on some random day.”

Order Mark Biltz’s New Book, “The Final Tyrant” on Amazon.com!

How the tribulation would unfold

Biltz says the seven-year tribulation would be divided into two three-and-a-half-year periods.

He believes the first half will feature the ministry of the two witnesses described in Revelation 11, whom he associates with Moses and Elijah. According to the biblical account, the witnesses will stop rain, turn water to blood and strike the earth with plagues.

At the midpoint, Biltz says the Antichrist and false prophet will kill the two witnesses. He believes this event would occur on Passover, with the witnesses rising from the dead three and a half days later.

The second half of the tribulation would then be dominated by the Antichrist’s rule.

Why Biltz points to the early 2030s

Biltz says several prophetic markers converge in the early 2030s.

He points to 2030 as a possible starting point for the tribulation because it falls near the 2,000-year mark after the death and resurrection of Jesus.

He also notes that the recapture of Jerusalem in the 1967 Six-Day War could mark the beginning of the final generation. Adding 70 years to that event points to 2037, which he believes could mark the end of that prophetic window.

Under that framework, a tribulation beginning around Rosh Hashanah 2030 would conclude around 2037.

A call to watch the times

Biltz stressed that he is not setting a date for the rapture or the return of Christ.

“I am not setting dates for the rapture,” he said. “I am not setting dates for the Lord’s return.”

Instead, he says believers should recognize the biblical signs that point to the times and remain spiritually prepared.

“We need to understand the times and the seasons,” Biltz said. “The wise will understand.”

‘God’s Not Dead. Why Are We?’: ‘Machine Gun Preacher’ Sam Childers Challenges Weak Christianity

Should Christians ever fight back?

That question is stirring serious debate across the Church as believers confront rising violence, persecution and moral collapse in the culture. In a blunt and high-energy interview with Bishop Alan DiDio, “Machine Gun Preacher” Sam Childers confronted the issue head-on, calling on Christians to reject passivity and stand with courage and conviction.

Breaking a passive spirit

DiDio opened the conversation with a challenge directed at the modern Church.

“I think it’s time to break this passive spirit, this pacifist spirit off the body of Christ,” he said.

Childers agreed and pointed to the difference between talking about injustice and confronting it.

“There’s a lot of people talking about rescuing kids out of human trafficking,” DiDio said. “There’s very few people who are actually doing anything about this.”

Childers said real missions work requires sacrifice and long-term commitment.

“There’s a lot of these ministries that will come into Africa,” he said. “They only go into the bush for a few hours during the day and take a lot of pictures and they say they’re doing a lot of work but they don’t really do any work besides take pictures.”

He said his ministry focuses on rebuilding lives and communities.

“I believe our work is Jesus Christ first,” Childers said. “Second is education. Third is teaching a skill and a trade.”

A calling born in war

Childers said his mission began during a trip to Africa when he encountered the brutal reality of war.

“God will open a door for you,” he said. “When you stand in that doorway the decision you make at that moment will determine your destination in life.”

He described the moment that changed everything.

“I come across a body of a small child,” Childers said. “When I looked down everything from the waist down was gone.”

Standing over the body, he made a vow that defined the rest of his life.

“I remember I said that day, ‘I’ll do whatever it takes to help these people.’”

Childers sold his possessions and moved to Africa, where he has spent nearly three decades rescuing children, building schools and orphanages, and running feeding programs.

“Our organization right now we feed over 10,000 meals a day,” he said.

Courage and obedience

Childers also shared stories from the front lines of conflict zones where militants were attacking villages.

In one encounter, soldiers warned him that more than 200 rebels from the Lord’s Resistance Army were raiding a village ahead.

“They said, ‘Reverend you can’t go no further. There’s more than 200 of them,’” Childers said.

He drove toward the village anyway.

“And I said, ‘I’m going.’”

Childers said he sensed God urging him forward.

“God kept saying, ‘Drive faster. Drive faster.’”

When his men opened fire from their trucks, the rebels fled, believing a larger army was approaching.

Childers said the lesson was simple.

“The problem is so many times as a Christian we want to wait for the miracle,” he said. “Don’t wait for the miracle. Obey God.”

A warning to the Church

Childers delivered a direct challenge to Christian men in America, arguing that believers have surrendered ground by refusing to stand up publicly for their faith.

“I get tired of hearing Christians say everything went bad when they took prayer out of the school,” he said. “They just didn’t take prayer out of the school. You allowed them to take prayer out of the school.”

He called on believers to stop complaining and start acting.

“If we have one day a year where we can go to our public school and pray around the flag pole why is there only a handful?” he asked. “Why isn’t there hundreds or even thousands of people standing there praying?”

Childers said courage and boldness must define Christian men again.

“I’m not afraid to stand up and let people know that I’m a Christian,” he said.

Then he delivered one of the strongest lines of the interview.

“God’s not dead,” Childers said. “Why are we?”

The real message

Childers said he no longer focuses on counting how many children he has rescued. His focus is on what still needs to be done.

“When I was a young guy I kept track of all that stuff,” he said. “Now I focus on what I need to do tomorrow morning.”

That mindset defines the heart of his message to believers.

Childers said God can transform even the most broken life and use it to impact others.

“The title of my book is The Most Unlikely,” he said. “The most unlikely to ever succeed in life.”

But the message does not end with his story. Childers said every believer has a responsibility to use their life to lift someone else.

“God has straightened you out,” he said. “Now use your life to help somebody else’s life.”

That is the real answer to the question that started the conversation. As Christians, we cannot live passive lives in a world filled with suffering and evil. Faith demands courage, obedience and action.

Active Shooter Incident at Temple Israel Exposes Growing Threats to Jewish Communities

UPDATE: Authorities later confirmed that the suspected shooter has been neutralized and the situation at Temple Israel is now under control. Officials also confirmed that no children were harmed during the incident. A security guard was injured after being struck by the suspect’s vehicle during the attack. We thank God for His protection and mercy in a situation that could have ended far more tragically.

Original article:

Police swarmed a synagogue in suburban Detroit Thursday after reports of an active shooter prompted a major law enforcement response and forced nearby residents to shelter in place.

Authorities responded just before 1 p.m. to reports of shots fired at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield, Michigan. The situation quickly drew dozens of police vehicles from multiple agencies as helicopters circled overhead and officers secured the area.

Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard told reporters at the scene that investigators believe at least one person fired shots during the incident.

“At least one person is believed to have fired shots,” Bouchard said. Authorities are also investigating whether more than one suspect may have been involved.

Officials said no injuries had been confirmed as of Thursday afternoon.

The incident triggered a shelter in place order within a one mile radius as police worked to secure the synagogue and surrounding area.

Heavy Law Enforcement Response

The West Bloomfield Police Department initially alerted residents to the situation shortly before 1 p.m., warning the public to avoid the area while officers responded to what was described as an “active situation.”

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office confirmed in a Facebook post that deputies and multiple agencies were responding to a report of an active shooter.

Dozens of law enforcement vehicles lined Walnut Lake Road outside the synagogue complex as officers established a perimeter.

Michigan State Police said troopers were increasing patrols at other houses of worship across the region as a precaution.

Temple Israel is a Reform Jewish synagogue located at 5725 Walnut Lake Road.

Jewish organizations connected to the Jewish Federation of Detroit also entered precautionary lockdown as the situation unfolded.

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer released a statement on social media following the incident. Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing.

Rising Anti-Semitism Around the World

Incidents like this reflect a troubling trend as anti-Semitism surges across the United States and around the world.

The explosion of anti-Israel activism and anti-Jewish rhetoric following the horrific Hamas terror attacks on Israel on Oct. 7 exposed how deeply this hatred has spread.

Across the United States, college campuses erupted with demonstrations where Jewish students reported harassment, intimidation and open hostility toward Israel and its people.

Synagogues and Jewish institutions have also faced increasing threats, forcing many congregations to strengthen security and work closely with local law enforcement.

The active shooter scare in Michigan underscores a sobering reality. As hostility toward the Jewish people grows louder in public spaces, Jewish communities increasingly find themselves facing threats to their safety.

Biblical Prophecy and the Last Days

Scripture makes clear that hostility toward Israel and the Jewish people will intensify in the last days.

The prophet Zechariah warned that the nations of the world would eventually turn against Jerusalem.

“Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling to all the surrounding peoples,” Zechariah 12:2 says.

The prophecy continues with a declaration that all nations will one day gather against Jerusalem.

These developments unfolding around the world echo what the Bible has already declared. The growing hostility toward Israel and the Jewish people aligns with the prophetic warnings recorded in Scripture thousands of years ago.

Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem

Moments like this must move us to prayer.

Scripture commands us to pray for Israel and for the peace of Jerusalem.

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: ‘May they prosper who love you,’” Psalm 122:6 says.

We must pray for the Jewish people. We must pray for the protection of synagogues and Jewish communities around the world. We must pray for peace in Jerusalem.

And we must ask the Lord to take what the enemy meant for evil and turn it for good.
