Jonathan Roumie Shares Insights on Faith, Prayer and the Journey to a Deeper Relationship with God

Los Angeles-based actor Jonathan Roumie, renowned for his portrayal of Jesus Christ in “The Chosen,” recently spoke with Fox News Digital about his Christian faith, prayer life and a special Advent prayer challenge he’s undertaking in collaboration with the Hallow app. Roumie’s commitment to his Christian values and the impact of prayer on his life serves as an inspiration for believers seeking peace and tranquility amid the chaos of the world.

Roumie emphasized the transformative power of prayer, expressing the importance of disconnecting from the divisive and anxiety-inducing aspects of life by connecting with Jesus. His collaboration with the Hallow app aims to guide people through a 25-day Advent prayer challenge, offering prayers, meditations on Scripture, Bible readings and more.

The actor stressed that building a habit of prayer is more accessible than people might think. He shared, “As you consistently tap into that habit, you find your relationship with Jesus growing deeper and deeper, just automatically.” This, he believes, leads to an experience of greater peace, joyfulness and the ability to face life’s challenges with resilience.

Roumie also addressed the challenge of maintaining focus on prayer in today’s distracting world. He acknowledged the role of technology in contributing to distraction but also highlighted the Hallow app as a tool to combat such distractions. With thousands of prayers and scriptural meditations available, Roumie finds the app a valuable resource to create quiet moments with the Lord, regardless of one’s location.

Reflecting on personal experiences, Roumie shared a pivotal moment of surrendering to God, a simple act that led to transformative changes in his life. He encouraged others to trust in God amidst challenging times, stating, “God hasn’t forsaken us. He’s faithful to us to the very end.”

The Hallow app, not a replacement for Scripture but a complement, provides robust access to the Bible, including Roumie’s narration of most of the New Testament. The app also offers resources for mental health and music, enhancing the prayer and worship experience.

Roumie emphasized the impact of playing the role of Jesus in “The Chosen” on his own faith journey. It prompted him to examine and deepen his relationship with Jesus, challenging him to grow closer and fostering a deeper prayer life.

As Christians navigate the stresses and strains of life, Jonathan Roumie’s insights serve as a call to action. To deepen their prayer lives, believers can find restoration and purpose, recognizing the transformative power of surrender and cultivating a relationship with Jesus through consistent prayer. As Advent unfolds, Roumie’s collaboration with the Hallow app offers a meaningful opportunity for believers to embark on a journey toward a more profound connection with God.

Dem Strategist Says Christians More Dangerous Than Terrorists

In a recent interview on HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher,” Democratic strategist James Carville, the “Ragin’ Cajun,” sparked controversy by asserting that Christian Republicans pose a greater threat to the United States than Islamic terrorists.

Carville specifically targeted U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson, alleging that his beliefs and affiliations are a fundamental danger to the nation.

During the interview, Carville declared, “Mike Johnson and what he believes is one of the greatest threats we have today to the United States. This is a bigger threat than al-Qaeda to this country.” He went on to describe his perceived threat as ‘Christian nationalists,’ as a significant peril, claiming they have infiltrated key positions, including the Supreme Court.

U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson responded to Carville’s remarks, expressing disbelief and disappointment. Johnson called the accusations “twisted and shameful,” urging the Democratic Party to condemn Carville’s comments. He emphasized the need for unity and understanding among Americans, irrespective of their religious or political affiliations.

The inflammatory remarks by Carville highlight a concerning trend of accusations against Christians in the United States. The country’s foundation on biblical principles and the fact that many Founding Fathers were Christians themselves seem to be overlooked by the Democratic activists.

This narrative appears to be a continuation of attacks on Christians in America, particularly from the radical left, aiming to marginalize and exclude Christ-based perspectives from the public sphere. The accusations against Christian Republicans as a supposed threat echo a broader sentiment that seeks to remove God and anything associated with Him from various aspects of society.

As Christians face such challenges and accusations, it is essential to find strength and encouragement in the teachings of the Bible. The Scriptures remind believers that persecution and opposition are not unfamiliar territory. In Matthew 5:11-12, Jesus encourages His followers, saying, “Blessed are you when men revile you, and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be very glad, because great is your reward in heaven.”

Verses like this confirm that Jesus knew with absolute certainty the verbal insults and attacks His followers would endure in His name.

While the world may turn against believers, the Bible assures them of God’s strength to endure and thrive under persecution. Philippians 4:13 declares, “I can do all things because of Christ who strengthens me.” As Christians navigate challenging times, they can find solace in these promises, knowing that their ultimate hope rests in the unchanging truth of God’s Word.

Unity in Christ: Reflections on the Flat Earth Debate

On a chilly Saturday evening, the tent of Global Vision Bible Church in Mount Juliet, Tennessee, echoed with passionate arguments as Pastors Greg Locke and Dean Odle engaged in a heated debate over a question that has come back to prominence in recent years—is the earth flat or a sphere? While many anticipated a civil but passionate debate grounded in biblical and scientific evidence, what unfolded was a dramatic clash of ideas that ended with an abrupt halt, police intervention and a shattered sense of unity.

Both Pastor Locke and Pastor Odle, deeply rooted in their convictions, believed their positions were biblically sound. Locke argued for a spherical earth, drawing on scientific evidence and interpreting biblical passages that he believed supported his viewpoint. On the other side, Pastor Odle presented a flat earth perspective, also claiming biblical backing and scientific evidence as well as subject matter experts who were in the audience.

The debate, lasting more than four intense hours, saw emotions running high as each pastor fervently defended his position. Unfortunately, these emotions eventually boiled over, the event collapsing in an abrupt end and subsequent chaos with unconfirmed reports of drug use in the parking lot and property damage to vehicles.

In the aftermath of this regrettable incident, it is crucial to reflect on the teachings of the Bible regarding unity, humility and controlling one’s emotions.

Each pastor has responded to the event and its ongoing fallout, with Pastor Odle discussing the power of apologies when emotions get the better of you at his church. Meanwhile, Pastor Locke and Global Vision Bible Church released a statement on the events through social media, addressing the whole episode the following morning as “a needed sifting of [the] church.”

The Bible calls believers to be united in purpose, emphasizing the importance of love and understanding in the face of disagreements. In Ephesians 4:3, we are reminded, “be eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”

It is evident that during the debate, both pastors allowed their emotions to take control, a battle every person deals with on a daily basis. Proverbs 15:1 advises, “A soft answer turns away wrath, but grievous words stir up anger.” In the pursuit of truth, it is crucial to remember the virtues of humility and respectful dialogue, guided by a desire for genuine understanding rather than a desire to win an argument.

As Christians, we are also called to forgive and seek reconciliation. Colossians 3:13 urges us, “Bear with one another and forgive one another. If anyone has a quarrel against anyone, even as Christ forgave you, so you must do.” Healing and restoration are achievable when we extend grace to one another, acknowledging our imperfections and embracing the teachings of Christ.

The incident at Global Vision Bible Church serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining unity in the body of Christ, even in the face of passionate disagreements. As Christians, we must strive to embody the love and forgiveness taught by Jesus, allowing these principles to guide our words and actions, fostering a spirit of unity within the church and the broader Christian community.

Prophetic Warning: Understanding Evangelist Perry Stone’s Urgent Message

In a recent message, Evangelist Perry Stone delivered an urgent warning to America, drawing attention to the biblical significance of current events and imploring Christians to pay heed. Stone began by highlighting the importance of discernment and understanding the times we live in, referring to Amos 3:7, which emphasizes that the Lord reveals His secrets to His servants, the prophets.

Expressing concern about the current spiritual state of America, he emphasizes that the nation is at risk not due to political turmoil but because of the departure from biblical principles. He underscored that God is primarily concerned about souls and the spiritual well-being of the nation, which was founded on Christian values.

“I do not believe God is in heaven worried about American politics to the point that He’s got to send a weekly prophecy about the politics in America,” Stone explains. “God is concerned about souls and the harvest, but He’s also concerned that the people in this nation, which in the past has been a Christian nation, understand the danger they are in.”

The evangelist drew parallels with biblical instances where God warned His people of impending calamities. From Noah’s time to the Babylonian invasion, Stone emphasized that God consistently communicated through true prophets, providing warnings and, at times, specific timeframes for preparation. True prophets, according to Stone, are validated by the accuracy of their predictions.

Stone then transitioned into a series of dreams he has had over the years, specifically focusing on tsunami scenarios affecting various coastal areas of the United States. While clarifying that he does not actively seek such visions, Stone shared a recent dream from Nov. 9, in which he witnessed an earthquake and the subsequent threat of a tsunami.

“I do not go to bed thinking about tsunamis. I do not ask God to show me events concerning tsunamis. As a matter of fact, these dreams often come at a time when I least expect it,” Stone reveals.

The dream prompted Stone to explore the underlying reasons for such warnings. He delved into the biblical concept of shedding innocent blood, referencing Deuteronomy 21. Stone contended that the legalization of abortion in 1973 marked a turning point, leading to the shedding of innocent blood and, potentially, inviting divine judgment.

Citing Proverbs 6:16-17, Stone highlighted that God hates hands that shed innocent blood. Drawing a parallel with Pharaoh’s decree to drown Hebrew male infants in the Nile, Stone suggested that God might use water-related catastrophes as a form of divine retribution.

The evangelist issued a stark warning about the consequences of reversing pro-life stances and returning to a culture that permits the shedding of innocent blood. Stone declared that America stands at a crucial crossroads, and the nation’s choices could either invite divine protection or pronounce its own judgment.

“It’s not conservative versus liberal why believers who believe this book [the Bible] tell you that shedding the innocent blood of an infant is wrong. You would understand that if you knew what God said about it,” Stone says.

“…If we reverse and start allowing [the] shedding [of] innocent blood again, we are in trouble. From coast to coast. That’s what the Lord spoke to me when I woke up from that tsunami vision.”

Stone urges believers to understand the gravity of this warning, emphasizing the biblical principles surrounding the sanctity of life. He encourages Christians to read and comprehend the Scriptures, stressing the importance of standing for what the Bible teaches.

As the world continues deeper into God’s prophetic timeline, Stone challenges believers to take a stand, pray fervently and advocate for biblical values in the face of potential national consequences. The urgency of the message lies in the acknowledgment that, as a nation, America may be on the precipice of divine judgment, and the call to action is clear: turn back to God and His principles to avert impending disaster.

Tragedy Strikes as Church Bombing Claims Multiple Lives

A horrific attack unfolded on Sunday morning at the Mindanao State University gymnasium in Marawi City, Philippines, during a Catholic Mass, resulting in the death of four individuals and leaving over 50 injured, according to media reports.

ISIS claimed responsibility for the bombing, specifically targeting what they referred to as a “large gathering of Christian disbelievers” in the predominantly Muslim city, as reported by the SITE Intelligence Group. The attack occurred at the onset of Advent, a period leading up to Christmas when Mass attendance typically surges.

Lanao del Sur province Governor Mamintal Adiong Jr. confirmed over 40 individuals were receiving treatment at a local government hospital, with others treated for minor injuries at the university’s infirmary.

Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. condemned the attack on social media, labeling it as “senseless and most heinous” and attributing it to “foreign terrorists.” The United States also denounced the act of violence, expressing solidarity with the Philippines.

Mindanao, known for its significant Muslim population, has a history of insurgency and extremist violence. In 2017, Marawi City faced a prolonged siege by ISIS-affiliated militants, displacing over 350,000 residents.

Speculation arises that the Daulah Islamiyah-Maute Group might be behind the bombing, considering recent encounters with the Philippine Army that resulted in the death of group members. Officials are exploring the possibility of retaliation.

The tragedy has prompted increased security measures across Manila and the southern region, with President Marcos Jr. and Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro vowing to bring the perpetrators to justice.

As Mindanao State University grapples with the aftermath, the incident has ignited concerns about the safety of Christian gatherings in the region, especially during a period of heightened religious activity. The Philippine government and security forces are on high alert to prevent further attacks.

Facing Persecution: A Biblical Perspective and Call to Unity

In times of persecution, the Bible offers solace and guidance to Christians. Scriptures highlight the endurance of believers in the face of adversity, emphasizing the importance of steadfast faith and relying on God’s strength.

Matthew 5:10-12, speaks directly to those facing persecution: “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” The Bible encourages believers to stand firm in their convictions, trusting that God’s promises endure.

In response to such tragic events, the Christian community is called to support those facing persecution. Galatians 6:2 reminds believers to “Bear one another’s burdens,” fostering a sense of unity and compassion. Churches can provide practical assistance, emotional support and fervent prayer for the affected individuals and communities.

As the global Christian family mourns the loss in Marawi City, it serves as a poignant reminder of the need for solidarity, resilience, and unwavering faith in the face of adversity.

Faith Decline Among Youth Threatens Western Society

A recent survey conducted by Whitestone Insights has unveiled a troubling trend among young Britons, indicating that nearly a quarter of individuals aged 18 to 34 would support banning the Bible if they perceived it as containing “hate speech.” This revelation has sparked concerns among religious freedom advocates who believe this shift in attitude could contribute to the deterioration of not only Great Britain but Western culture as a whole.

Lois McLatchie, a representative of Alliance Defending Freedom UK, expressed her apprehensions during a recent interview on GBNews. Drawing attention to the consequences faced by Christians in Finland, where former Minister of the Interior, Päivi Räsänen, was acquitted of hate speech charges for sharing a Bible verse on marriage and sexuality, McLatchie warned against the dangers of stifling religious expression.

“We may no longer be a majority Christian population here in Britain. That’s even more reason to protect freedom of speech and belief for all,” McLatchie emphasized.

The survey results indicate that young adults are the most likely demographic to support banning religious texts, with 23% of those aged 18 to 34 agreeing with the statement. In comparison, 35- to 54-year-olds followed at 17%, while those over 55 were the least likely to support such a ban, with only 13% in agreement.

McLatchie went on to highlight concerning instances of censorship under the current Conservative government, citing the arrest of street preachers for quoting the Bible in public and legal actions against pro-life campaigners praying silently near abortion clinics.

“Censoring one type of belief because it fails to fit with the dominant orthodoxy of our day is no better than imposing the illiberal blasphemy laws of the Middle Ages,” McLatchie warns.

As the foundation of Western society is rooted in biblical principles, concerns are mounting that the erosion of faith in the Bible among the younger generation could lead to a decline in the values that have long defined the West.

In response to these challenges, the Bible calls upon Christians to actively demonstrate godly living and lifestyle. There is a great importance to defending religious freedom and the godly principles which saw the rise and growth of Western civilization. As the cultural landscape evolves, Christians must engage respectfully and compassionately to ensure that the foundational principles of Western civilization endure.

If Christians do not stand up for the values, principles, morals and message found within the Bible, then the world will continue to attack God’s Word unabated. The faithful must be the stop-gap between a world enveloped in darkness and the people in it who desperately need the truth of Jesus Christ.

New ‘Trolls’ Movie Brings With It a Strong Parental Warning

In the vibrant world of animated movies, “Trolls Band Together” seems like harmless, colorful entertainment for children.

Yet, beneath its cheerful exterior lies a subtle integration of symbols and messages that sow seeds of confusion and challenges the values Christian parents strive to instill in their children.

The rainbow, a symbol of God’s promise, takes center stage in this film, but is instead associated with the LGBTQ community. The juxtaposition of these seemingly innocent elements raises questions about the subtle influence media can have on young minds.

Having rainbows in the world of Trolls is nothing new, but it is the representation and how they are used that shows a direct correlation to the modern-day pride flag, instead of simply being a rainbow.

Lining the streets as they do during the month of June, pride month now in the United States (the President himself declared America, “A nation of pride”), these rainbow banners now include the color pink, just as the pride flag did to include people who believe they are transgender. Below one of them is a heart, which falls in line with the false equivalency of “love is love” often pronounced by those in support of the LGBTQ agenda.

As parents, it is crucial to recognize that what appears harmless on the surface may carry deeper, potentially nefarious intentions. The rainbow, a symbol of God’s covenant, is subtly merged with symbols associated with movements that do not align with biblical teachings. This underscores the importance of being vigilant about the content our children consume and its potential impact on their spiritual development.

The wedding scene, officiated by a character voiced by drag performer RuPaul Charles, takes the cake as the most in-your-face moment of content inappropriate for children.

The female priest, voiced by RuPaul, a man, discusses having “thousands” of lovers during the ceremony.

“Now, falling in love is easy. We’ve all done it,” Maxine says. “I’ve done it a hundred times. Thousands, even, if you count that semester I spent abroad.”

So, the punchline for this joke is that the priest performing the wedding ceremony has had thousands of lovers over the course of one semester abroad? In a children’s movie?

Lance Bass, an LGBTQ advocate, and member of the cast who openly criticizes traditional Christian views, further emphasizes the need for discernment in our entertainment choices.

As Christian parents navigate the complexities of raising children in an increasingly hostile and ever-changing society, we can turn to the Bible for guidance and discernment. Proverbs 22:6 encourages us to “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it.” This verse underscores the responsibility we bear as parents to impart biblical values that withstand the challenges of the world.

In Ephesians 6:4, fathers are specifically urged to bring up their children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. This involves being actively involved in our children’s lives, guiding them through the maze of conflicting messages they may encounter in the media and providing a solid foundation rooted in biblical truths.

To safeguard our children’s spiritual well-being, it is imperative that we remain vigilant, discerning and engaged in their lives. This involves not only monitoring the content they consume but also fostering open communication, where our children are comfortable discussing the values and beliefs depicted in the media they encounter.

Because if we do not teach our children what is morally right and wrong, then society will.

Is Biblical Illiteracy to Blame for Rising Antisemitism?

In a world where headlines often echo narratives against the nation of Israel, Christians are called to discern the biblical significance of standing alongside God’s chosen people. Recent events, marked by global protests and skewed media narratives, reveal a disturbing turn against Israel, raising concerns among believers.

As tensions escalate, it’s crucial for Christians to understand the underlying biblical principles that underscore the importance of supporting Israel. The Christian response to the ongoing narrative shift plays a pivotal role in upholding Scriptural truths and countering misconceptions.

At the core of Christian belief lies the understanding that Jesus’ sacrifice fulfilled the Mosaic covenant, providing salvation from sin and death. However, the Abrahamic covenant, as outlined in Genesis 12:1-3, remains a distinct promise:

“Now the Lord said to Abram, ‘Go from your country, your family, and your father’s house to the land that I will show you. I will make of you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless them who bless you and curse him who curses you, and in you, all families of the earth will be blessed.'”

What many Christians are not understanding is that if you are not of Abrahamic descent, then you are not a part of this covenant. Which is OK, because there are other ways for God to bless believers in His Son, Jesus Christ.

This Scriptural foundation reinforces the divine directive for Christians to support Israel. While criticism and disagreement may arise, the biblical call to be a steadfast friend, offering support even in challenging times, becomes paramount.

The America First movement, rooted in patriotism, must recognize that the restoration of the nation involves more than national pride. A corporate turning toward God and a commitment to supporting Israel align with the biblical promise of blessings for those who stand by His chosen people.

If you want to make America great again, then it begins with repentance and bringing God back into the fold of America society.

Amid the complexities of geopolitics and shifting alliances, Christians are reminded to delve into the biblical truths regarding Israel. The pages of the Bible contain prophecies and promises concerning Israel’s restoration, underscoring the danger of biblical illiteracy in contemporary society.

The urgent call to open the Bible echoes in a time marked by compromise and diluted adherence to God’s principles. A clarion call to the faithful to immerse themselves in Scripture becomes essential, challenging believers to withstand the pressures of societal changes and apostasy.

Embrace the strength provided by the Holy Spirit, read the Bible and discern the critical importance of supporting the nation of Israel. In a world accelerating toward unknown horizons, a biblical lens offers unparalleled clarity and insight, guiding Christians through these unprecedented times.

Pastors Top List of Jobs Most Vulnerable to AI Takeover

In an era marked by technological advances, even positions in the five-fold ministry are not immune to the influence of artificial intelligence.

Recent findings from a Department for Education report in Great Britain reveal that clergy members, entrusted with the spiritual guidance of congregations, rank among the top 20 professions most susceptible to the impact of AI, particularly in the realm of “large language model” systems.

According to the study, clergy members hold the 13th position in vulnerability among the 365 occupational categories examined. The assessment considered crucial skills inherent in each profession, such as written comprehension and inductive reasoning, evaluating their replicability by AI systems.

While the study underscores potential challenges, it is essential to recognize the nuanced landscape of AI integration in religious practices. Instances of AI-generated sermons and AI-powered church ceremonies have already emerged, sparking discussions within the Christian community about the role of technology in ministry.

Theologians and leaders, such as Jonas Simmerlein of the University of Vienna, acknowledge the value of AI in aiding clergy members in sermon preparation. Even former Church of Scotland head, the Very Rev Albert Bogle, encourages an embrace of AI while asserting its limitations in replicating the profound human experience of worship.

Biblically, the call to spread the Word of God remains steadfast. The Great Commission, as outlined in Matthew 28:19-20, compels believers to make disciples of all nations. While AI may offer efficiency and assistance, the essence of human interaction and community building remains irreplaceable in fulfilling this sacred mission.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you,” (Matt. 28:19-20).

The potential drawbacks of relying solely on AI in ministry also include the risk of diluting the personal touch that defines pastoral care. The unique nuances of human experience, empathy and emotional connection that clergy bring to their congregations are elements not easily replicated by machines.

Many within the Christian faith have also raised the alarm at the potential of the Bible being rewritten for a more modern audience, and makes it more “inclusive.”

This fear, while valid, does not need AI to be accomplished, merely fast-tracked. It is groups such as PETA, LGBTQ activists, even the government of China, who are actively working to re-write the Bible and take away from the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

As discussions about AI in ministry unfold, the tension between leveraging technological tools for efficiency and preserving the authenticity of human interaction becomes evident. The rise of AI poses a challenge for religious leaders to strike a delicate balance, ensuring that technology serves as a complement rather than a substitute for the essence of faith and community.

Christian Music Pioneer Jimmy Owens Dies at 93

The Christian community is mourning the loss of Christian music trailblazer, Jimmy Owens, who passed away peacefully Sunday, Nov. 26. His wife, Carol, preceded him to heaven in March of this year. They were married 68 years.

A prominent figure in the Christian music scene, Jimmy, along with Carol, etched a lasting legacy with their iconic musicals, “Come Together,” “The Witness” and “If My People,” which gained nationwide acclaim during the early 1970s.

Their hymns, including Carol’s “Freely, Freely (God Forgave My Sin),” became cherished expressions of devotion. In 1981, they received a Grammy nomination for their classic children’s album, “Ants’hillvania.” Carol chronicled their spiritual journey in her memoir, “Chasing Fireflies in the Twilight.”

Beyond their musical contributions, Jimmy and Carol collaborated with influential Christian artists and ministries, leaving an enduring impact on the early ministry of the Second Chapter of Acts.

The Owens family legacy continues through their children, Buddy Owens, a teaching pastor at Saddleback Church, and Jamie Owens-Collins, a contemporary Christian recording artist and writer. Jamie’s renowned composition, “The Battle Belongs to the Lord,” stands as a testament to the family’s enduring faith.
