4 Keys to Press Into Your Personal Mega Move of God

I heard the Lord say: Mega grace and mega faith equals a mega movement. The prophecy continues:

“My grace is sufficient for you and I’ve given you the measure of faith. I will move on your behalf when you step out in faith and rely on My grace to obey the words I have spoken to your heart.

“I will make impossible things possible. I will show you ways over, around and through things that have held you back in past seasons. I will make a way for you as you release faith-filled words and appropriate My grace that dwells on the inside of you.

“My grace offers you supernatural favor. My grace offers you supernatural power. My grace offers you whatever you need in the moment. Release your faith to walk in My grace and you will see things move that seemed immovable.

“You will see Me move in ways you hoped and prayed for. You will see yourself move into a new dimension of my goodness. It’s time to move.”

So What Does Mega Really Mean?

Mega means “of the highest level of rank, excellence or importance,” according to Merriam-Webster. I like some of the synonyms better: astronomical, colossal, galactic, enormous, gigantic, herculean, jumbo, king-size, monumental, supersized, tremendous, mammoth, miracles and massive.

One of the best example of mega faith is found in Matthew 8:5-13: “When Jesus returned to Capernaum, a Roman officer came and pleaded with him, ‘Lord, my young servant lies in bed, paralyzed and in terrible pain.’ Jesus said, ‘I will come and heal him.’

“But the officer said, ‘Lord, I am not worthy to have you come into my home. Just say the word from where you are, and my servant will be healed. I know this because I am under the authority of my superior officers, and I have authority over my soldiers. I only need to say, ‘Go,’ and they go, or ‘Come,’ and they come. And if I say to my slaves, ‘Do this,’ they do it.’ When Jesus heard this, he was amazed. Turning to those who were following him, he said, ‘I tell you the truth, I haven’t seen faith like this in all Israel! Then Jesus said to the Roman officer, ‘Go back home. Because you believed, it has happened.’ And the young servant was healed that same hour.”

Mega faith makes Jesus marvel!

We get the concept of mega grace from Scripture. Acts 4:33 (AMPC) tells us, “And with great strength and ability and power the apostles delivered their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace (loving-kindness and favor and goodwill) rested richly upon them all.”

The Greek word for “great” is megas, which is where we get the word mega. In this verse, we see mega grace, mega loving-kindness, mega favor and mega goodwill.

When You Need a Mega Move of God in Your Life

In the prophecy, the Lord said, “It’s time to move!” Maybe you need a move of God in your life—a mega move. Sometimes we think we’re waiting on God to move when He’s actually waiting on us to move. Sometimes when we move, He’ll move.

When I look through Scripture, I see the patriarchs moving. Abraham moved. Isaac moved. Jacob moved. Judah moved. Joseph moved. Moses moved. Goliath moved—but then David moved and God moved! Here are four ways to press into a mega move in your life:

  1. Get ready to press.

There will be resistance to your mega move. You have to be willing to press. In Philippians 4:12-14, Paul said, “Not that I have already attained or have already been perfected, but I follow after it so that I may lay hold of that for which I was seized by Christ Jesus. Brothers, I do not count myself to have attained, but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal to the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”

  1. Lay aside the weights.

The old baggage has to go. The limiting beliefs have to go. The fear has to go. Hebrews 12:1-4 tells us, “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.”

  1. Consider your thoughts, words and deeds.

Everything you think, say and do either moves you close to God’s will or away from it. What are your thoughts moving you toward? What are your words moving you toward? What are your actions moving you toward? Your last movement is a result of your thoughts, words and deeds.

  1. Dream wild.

Imagine the possibilities of what God could do. Luke 1:37 tells us, “Nothing is impossible with God.” And Ephesians 3:20 says, “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly beyond all that we ask or imagine, according to the power that works in us.”

4 Ways to Press Into Justice for Mega Payback and Vindication

We’re still pressing into payback, the word of the Lord in April—and it’s not over. As I said last week, prophetic words don’t expire unless the Lord dates them. We’re in a season of payback, and we need to keep contending until we see it manifest!

Part of pressing in is positioning your heart for the payback. Last week, I offered you three keys to position yourself for mega payback. This week, I’m sharing four more, because I’m determined to see you receive God’s justice in your life in every area where the enemy has meddled.

  1. Forgive those who robbed you.

Forgiveness is not a feeling. It’s not justifying what someone did. It’s not even necessarily reconciling. Forgiveness is an act of your will. When you choose to forgive, your emotions will eventually line up with your will.

Keep in mind, your prayers for payback will not work if you don’t forgive. Jesus puts it plainly in Mark 11:25: “And when you stand praying, forgive if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father who is in heaven may also forgive you your sins.”

You can pray for payback all day, but if you have unforgiveness in your heart, it hinders your petitions because you are in disobedience. You are not in God’s will when you harbor unforgiveness. You can’t receive payback from God when you are looking for payback from man.

  1. Pray for those who despitefully used you.

In Matthew 5:44-45, Jesus said: “But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.”

Don’t pray the, “Get ’em, God” prayer. Don’t pray that He would convict them or make them feel bad. Pray the blessings you would pray for your closest friend or those who wronged you. Pray radical increase, favor and peace over their lives. When you do this, many times the Holy Spirit will actually bless them with the conviction of their wrong.

  1. Bless those who have cursed you.

“Bless” quite literally means to say good things about someone. Curse, by contrast, means to say evil things about someone. When people curse us, our flesh likes to curse them back. When people hurt us, we want to hurt them back. We want to tell everyone what they did and make them look bad. Move in the opposite spirit. Say good things about those who wrong you. That opens the door for payback.

  1. Ask the Lord for justice.

After you’ve forgiven and blessed, you are ready to ask the Lord for justice. The parable of the widow and the unjust judge is our model. Luke 18:1-6 reads:

“He told them a parable to illustrate that it is necessary always to pray and not lose heart. He said: “In a city there was a judge who did not fear God or regard man. And a widow was in that city. She came to him, saying, “Avenge me against my adversary.” He would not for a while. Yet afterward he said to himself, “Though I do not fear God or respect man, yet because this widow troubles me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she will weary me.”

And the Lord said, “Hear what the unjust judge says. And shall not God avenge His own elect and be patient with them, who cry day and night to Him? I tell you, He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?”

You can pray this prayer with me: Father, in the name of Jesus, I ask you to forgive those who hurt me, used me, robbed from me and caused me pain. I forgive them and release them, and bless them in the name of Jesus. I know I’m not wresting against flesh and blood. Thank You, Lord, that You are a just God. Life may not be fair, but You are just. I ask You now to avenge me of my spiritual adversaries. Bring your justice swiftly. Bring back what the enemy stole, in the name of Your Son Jesus. Amen. {eoa}

3 Keys to Position Yourself for Mega Payback

Payback. It was the word of the Lord in April—and it’s not over. Prophetic words don’t expire unless the Lord dates them. In other words, we’re in a season of payback, and we need to keep pressing into it. Part of pressing in is positioning your heart for the payback.

Let’s dive right in to three keys to readying yourself to receive God’s restoration in your finances, relationships, health—or any other area the enemy has manifested. Keep in mind as you read these words that God is a God of payback. He tells us, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay (Rom. 12:19b). He gave Job double for his trouble (Job 42:10). He assures us the thief who is caught must repay seven times (Prov. 6:31).

  1. Take responsibility and repent for your part.

“I am responsible.” Those are the first three words you need to say when adversity hits your life. No, I’m not saying you are responsible for all adversity that comes your way. But you are responsible for how you respond to it.

On the other hand, we do sometimes make poor decisions and open the door for the enemy to meddle in our minds. When adversity strikes, the first thing I do is examine my heart. Am I out of God’s will? Did I open a door to the enemy somehow? Before we start chasing devils, we need to chase God for a revelation of where the trouble lies.

Many are tempted to blame shift when things go wrong—pointing fingers at others for their own mistakes, failures and warfare. This is not a helpful perspective if you want to see things shift because blame is the guard for change. When you refuse to take responsibility for your part, you hinder your spiritual growth and your natural breakthrough.

Consider the words of the preacher in Proverbs 28:13: “He who covers his sins will not prosper; but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.”

We see blame shifting at its best in Genesis 3:12-13 when God confronted Adam and Eve about disobeying His command and eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

“The man said, ‘The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me fruit of the tree, and I ate.’ Then the Lord God said to the woman, “What have you done?” And the woman said, ‘The serpent deceived me, and I ate.'”

The blame game got them nowhere—they were expelled from the Garden of Eden. We need to be willing to repent—to change the way we think—if we want to see maximum payback in our lives.

  1. Reject guilt and condemnation; forgive yourself.

Some years ago, I lost nearly $100,000 cash in a bad real estate investment deal. I didn’t have a word of the Lord to do it—but it seemed like God. Our pastor was pressuring everyone in the church to invest in real estate—to flip houses. He had a wrong motive, and I missed God.

I beat myself up about that for years. The devil told me I was a poor steward. He plagued me with thoughts of how I could have used that money to pay for my daughter’s college or sow into missions. He bombarded me with guilt and condemnation.

Thank God there is no condemnation in Christ (see Rom. 8:1). After I repented for missing God’s warnings about the real estate investment, I received His forgiveness and shunned guilt and condemnation for good. I learned from the mistake. In the end, I got triple for my trial as I received an inheritance worth three times what I lost from a couple in the ministry whom God led to sow valuable property into my life.

  1. Let God off the hook.

Many times we blame God—but God is not the robber—God is the vindicator. John 10:10 makes this absolutely clear: “The thief does not come, except to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

God isn’t destroying our dreams, stealing our money, sending our kids into sin or putting sickness on our bodies. Why do bad things happen to good people? Because the devil is a bad devil. But God is a good God.

When Job was going through his trial, he lost everything. He lost his family, his livestock, his barns, his health—he lost it all. His wife said, “Curse God and die” (Job 2:9b). He refused to blame God. He didn’t put God on the hook, and everything he lost at the enemy’s hand was restored twofold.

The word of the Lord for May is “mega.” Mega faith plus mega grace equals mega movement. On my morning Periscope prophetic prayer broadcast, many have been claiming mega payback, mega healing, mega, mega, mega. I agree with the mega—so let’s position our hearts to receive what God has in store for us this month and beyond. {eoa}

Where Do Angels Fit Into the End-Times Drama?

Angels don’t preach the gospel—at least not yet. But they are sending various messages to prophetic people in the body of Christ even now.

The Lord spoke to me clearly about the angels of abundant harvest coming into the nation. He’s talked to me about the angels of transition. He’s spoke to me this month about angels coming to trouble the water, delivering people from past hurts and wounds and bringing payback.

But what role do angels play in the end times? What place do these ministering spirits have in the unfolding drama that is the last days? Where do we find them as Jesus Christ returns for His glorious bride without spot or wrinkle? Angels play a vital role.

  1. Angels Worship God in the End Times

“Then I looked, and I heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voices of many angels, numbering ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands …” (Rev. 5:11). Angels have been worshipping God since they were created and will continue this ministry for eternity. As we grow closer to the last of the last days, we should take a hint from the worshipping angels and focus on Jesus.

  1. Hold Back God’s Winds of Judgment

“Then I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind would not blow on the earth or on the sea or on any tree” (Rev. 7:1). Angels can be instruments of judgment or can help believers avert judgment. Judgment, when it comes, comes in God’s timing.

  1. Sound the Trumpets of Judgment

“And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them” (Rev. 8:2). The angels are entrusted to blow these all-important trumpets, signaling judgment. Matthew Henry’s Commentary explains, “Still the angels are employed as the wise and willing instruments of divine Providence, and they are furnished with all their materials and instructions from God our Saviour. As the angels of the churches are to sound the trumpet of the gospel, the angels of heaven are to sound the trumpet of Providence, and every one has his part given him.”

Check out Jennifer’s prophetic word on the angels of abundant harvest.

  1. Wage Spiritual Warfare in Heaven

“Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought, but they did not prevail, nor was there a place for them in heaven any longer. The great dragon was cast out, that ancient serpent called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world. He was cast down to the earth, and his angels were cast down with him. Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying: ‘Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down'” (Rev. 12:7-10). Angels war on our behalf also. They are mighty!

  1. Preach the Gospel

As I started out saying in this column, angels don’t preach the gospel—at least not yet. We know that because an angel appeared to Cornelius and told him to go find Peter so he could share with him the gospel (Acts 11:13-14). If the angel were permitted, the angel would have done so. But in the end times, the angels will preach the gospel: “Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the eternal gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth, to every nation and tribe and tongue and people” (Rev. 14:6).

Ride the Wind: A Prophetic Word About Turning the Tables

Ride the wind! When I heard the Holy Spirit speak those three words I set out on a journey to discern the fullness of what He was saying in this season.

As I meditated on these words, He showed me very clearly how we can ride the wind of the Spirit—but also how we can ride the wind of adversity.

See, the devil’s adversity coming against you is no match for the God on the inside of you. The battle in your mind may be raging, but the lion of the tribe of Judah on the inside of you roars louder than the roaring lion that’s after you.

That might make you shout, but the adverse winds against you may be so strong that you could find yourself back on the emotional roller coaster later today or next week. I’ve discovered that in this season, many peoples’ emotions are going wild.

I heard the Lord say: “Be still and know that I am God. The battle belongs to Me. I am your victory banner. I am the captain of the hosts. I am the lifter of your head. I am your defender. I am your vindicator. I am your provider. I will set a table before you in the presence of your adversaries, and they will bow before the Christ in you. You will win if you do not faint. You will gather the spoils if you determine in your heart that you will not withdraw from the battle. You will do this for My glory.”

8 Straight Days of Hellish Warfare

Earlier this year, I went through eight days of hell—eight days of massive adversity that left me dazed and confused … eight days of spiritual attack that had my head spinning—at least temporarily. It was a sheer blindside from multiple directions.

A psychotic stalker rose up against me. A coven of witches launched a coordinated attack on my life. A woman with a strong Jezebel spirit started making moves against my ministry. I experienced major retaliation for standing in the gap for a close friend who was in a major spiritual battle. Misunderstandings and division were manifesting left and right. I had major flu-like symptoms the likes of which I haven’t had in years. My mind was under heavy enemy fire. I could go on, but I’ll stop there.

Things lightened up for about a day and then a new wave of attacks came against me. In total, it was four months of massive warfare in almost every area of my life and ministry. There were two choices: let the wind of adversity blow me down, or learn how to ride the wind.

During that time, I heard the Lord say: “What the enemy meant for your harm, I will turn around for your good as you stay prayerful, stay in My presence, seek My face and stand in the reality of who you are. Don’t let the wicked one move you with the winds and hailstorms. Ride the wind of adversity and use the storm to your advantage. Rejoice in the tribulation knowing that your character will become more Christ-like as you press into the work of the cross.”

A Prophetic Lesson From the Eagles

In times of adversity, we should take a lesson from the eagles. The late Dr. Myles Munroe taught me this:

“Eagles love the storm. When clouds gather, the eagles get excited. The eagle uses the storm’s wind to lift it higher. Once it finds the wind of the storm, the eagles uses the raging storm to lift him above the clouds. This gives the eagle an opportunity to glide and rest its wings. In the meantime, all the other birds hide in the leaves and branches of the trees. We can use the storms of life to rise to greater heights. Achievers relish challenges and use them profitably.”

The Word and the Spirit are the wind beneath your wings. When you declare the Word over your life, you can ride the wind. When we wait upon the Lord, we can ride His wind, even in adversity. Keep this Scripture in your heart in times of adversity: “those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, and they shall walk and not faint” (Is. 40:31).

Lifestyle Christianity In Action

When you listen to Todd White talk about Jesus, he literally oozes agape love—and he’s equipping a generation to flow in Holy Ghost power and devotion that deliver people from demons, heal them from diseases and root them firmly in their divine identity.

Viral YouTube videos show Todd walking the streets of the world, at times risking his neck to demonstrate the healing gifts of God to people who may only know the Jesus of religion but not of relationship. Todd’s power evangelism ministry has set the stage for miracle healings that have inspired many unbelievers—even sold-out Muslims—to turn their hearts to Christ.

What many don’t know is before God could use Todd as a conduit for the perfect love that casts out pain, infirmity and fear, He had to flood a wounded man’s heart with kindness that led him to repentance from a life of atheism, drugs, alcohol and violence. Todd lived the better part of 34 years broken, angry, bitter and high on whatever would numb the pain before he finally surrendered his life to the Lord.

Here’s the backstory: When Todd was only 11 years old, his parents split up. Mom left him at Masonic Homes—a program for Masons and their families—never to return. As soon as Todd was old enough, he joined the Marine Corps on a dare. But even the Marines could not break the strong-willed youth’s rebellious nature. Twelve days after entering military service, he went AWOL, stole money in a drug deal and landed in military prison before ultimately exiting with a Bad Conduct Discharge.

The story waxes worse from there. Even though Todd couldn’t hold down a job, he found a girlfriend and fathered a baby. When the girl threatened to leave him, a drug-addicted Todd threatened to murder her and commit suicide. In a moment of desperation, he went to a church, where God was waiting to speak to him through a man named Dan Mohler.

“Dan shared the gospel and told me I needed to give Jesus my life,” Todd recalls. “I was like, ‘Fine, whatever. I don’t want my life anyway.’ I had no idea what I was getting into, no clue. I prayed and said, ‘God, if You’re real, You show me You’re real. I’ll live for you.’ Simple as that. I went home and called my girlfriend, but she wouldn’t talk to me. I told my daughter to tell her Daddy found God.”

Living Like a Hypocrite

That loving confrontation opened Todd’s eyes to God, but his life wasn’t radically changed by reciting the sinner’s prayer. Although his atheist girlfriend gave him a second chance, Todd continued smoking crack and worse. He was confessing Christ, but he was stoned out of his mind much of the time. He describes the first five and a half months of his walk with God as a Romans 7:15 life: “For what I am doing, I do not understand, for I do not practice what I will to do, but I do the very thing I hate.”

If Paul was the “chief sinner,” Todd may have been by his own confession the chief hypocrite. His double life came to a screeching halt the night he impersonated a cop and stole a crack dealer’s stash in New York City. As Todd fled the scene, the dealer unloaded a 9 mm pistol on him at 10-foot range. He should have been dead, and he knew it. But he heard a voice say, “I took those bullets for you. Are you ready to live for Me yet?”

“I was baffled by the voice,” Todd recalls. “I didn’t know what it was, but I knew that it was not from this world. I did drugs to try to get the voice to go away. I couldn’t get it to go away no matter how many drugs I took, no matter how high I tried to get. I went home, and my girlfriend told me to get out of her life. My daughter was screaming. I went away to a place called Teen Challenge three days later.”

Todd spent two months in rehab and started reading the Bible every morning, asking the Lord to open up the Scriptures. After about six weeks, the Bible came alive to him, and God started training him in righteousness. He realized God is real and the Word is alive. That sharp Word started cutting through Todd’s wrong thoughts, and soon, supernatural encounters with the God who loved him enough to die for him—and take bullets for him—began.

“For three nights, I had encounters with Jesus in a valley,” Todd recalls. “He took me to Psalm 23 every morning. On the third night, He told me to go home. I packed my stuff 10 months early and went home to tell my daughter I was sorry. I realized I was a father for the first time in my life. I held her as a dad would hold his daughter. I told my girlfriend how sorry I was, and we decided that day to get married.”

Determined not to live a double life anymore, Todd went into the house with Hefty trash bags and filled them with drugs, pornography, drug paraphernalia and every other wicked thing he could find in the home. He emptied the bags into a beer barrel, smashed the barrel with a sledgehammer, saturated it with gasoline and burned it to oblivion.

That was 12 years ago. Today, Todd and his wife, Sarah, have three girls, ages 19, 10 and 5. The couple is adopting a little boy.

“Since that day, that stuff has never, ever had a voice in my life,” Todd says. “My past never had a voice in my future because Jesus has made it possible to wipe out all the things I wish I’d never done. He enabled me to follow in His godly manner. It’s not just a one-time repentance. It’s a lifestyle where I really look at things from God’s perspective. God’s training my heart so I can see with His eyes.”

From Visitation to Habitation

Truly, Todd’s life has been radically transformed. The 47-year-old does ministry under the banner of Lifestyle Christianity. His mission is threefold: to bring Christians closer to Christ by helping them secure an identity in the Father’s love, strengthen their confidence in the Holy Spirit and keep things simple so He can flow through them everywhere they go.

“Todd White’s ministry is very similar to when Jesus was on this earth in that Todd is walking around looking for people who need a Savior, who need a healer, who need a deliverer,” says Robert Morris, senior pastor at Gateway Church—and Todd’s pastor. “And when he meets someone, he’s very sensitive to figuring out what their need is and then sharing how Jesus can meet that need.”

Some may look at Todd’s life—His encounters with God—and conclude it’s easy for him to walk the straight and narrow because of the supernatural events that led to His salvation. But Todd says it’s not an encounter or a visitation that truly transforms your life—it’s the habitation of God. At that point in our conversation, Todd preached a message about identity in Christ that delighted my heart. It’s the message he’s taking to the nations that has put him on the map as one who truly knows God and wants to make Him known.

“I’ve pressed into this work called righteousness,” Todd told me. “In the Old Testament, the only way [you] can be right with God is you have to obey 613 laws and 10 commandments, never missing one, because if you transgress one [commandment] in the law, you’ve broken the whole law. That means whether somebody was a drug addict for 22 years and an atheist and murdered people, sold drugs, stole from people and lied every day of their life, or if a person lies one time, both are equally as guilty.”

Some people point to Todd’s background and say he loves much because he was forgiven much (see Luke 7:47). Todd rejects that idea and calls it a subtle form of self-righteousness that claims people who have been forgiven only a little can’t love much. He explains we all have the same charge to love God with all our heart, all our mind, all our soul and all our strength (Mark 12:30-31). Todd credits his transformation with pressing into a revelation of true redemption.

“Redemption doesn’t just mean being purchased,” Todd explains. “Redemption means being brought back to the original value we had with God in the beginning as if we never sinned, as if we never ate from the tree. That’s how God sees me. If I wake up that way every day, then if I trip, if I stumble, God says He’s faithful and just to keep me and to cleanse me of all unrighteousness. That means the only thing left is right standing with God. Here I am, right with God, and nobody can take that away from me.”

Robby Dawkins, a fifth-generation pastor and conference speaker who has known Todd for eight years, told me the dreadlock-wearing evangelist lives in the moment and seeks kingdom opportunities as they happen—and is always willing to be interrupted or interrupt to bring them.

“What I see Todd bringing to the body of Christ is inspiration to speak the words Jesus spoke and do the works Jesus did out of being [the people] Jesus made us to be,” Dawkins says. “He is a frontrunner on the identity message and on righteousness. Todd communicates so well the understanding of us not moving in signs and wonders as a task, but as living out righteousness. It isn’t doing for Todd, but rather, being.”

I’ve heard some argue Todd adheres to the hyper-grace message, which claims God doesn’t see the sins of his children since we’ve already been made righteous by the blood of Jesus and since all our sins—past, present and future—have already been forgiven. But it’s more like hyper-love. It’s more like a true understanding that God’s grace is new every morning. It’s more like a knowledge that God’s grace empowers His forgiveness and allows Him to have His way in us completely, to change us from the inside out.

“When righteousness hits your heart, that keeps you from ever wanting to sin and get away with it,” Todd says. “It keeps you clean in the eyes of the Father. I wake up right with God every day of my life. He created me in His image and in His likeness. He made us. When I was at Teen Challenge, I read the Bible from the perspective of being right with God every day. I grow in the reality of who God says I am.”

This revolutionary revelation of the person he is in Christ has kept Todd from returning to drugs, alcohol, pornography, lying, cheating and stealing. He finds such comfort in God’s love and God’s voice that when the devil speaks, Todd won’t listen. He just continues standing in the truth of who he is in God. That truth, he explains, keeps his conscience clean and empowers him to live and walk in the Spirit through an ongoing pursuit of God.

“Todd and I have traveled together in other countries and most of the U.S. equipping people to step in healing and calling out perfect strangers’ true identity in Christ,” Dawkins says. “It’s what Todd lives for. I’ve seen Todd speak in front of thousands and then pull my six boys off in our home and call out their identity with the same passion. His heart is not to be a spectacle but to make Jesus famous everywhere he goes.”

As Morris sees it, what makes Todd so effective is he has never gotten over being saved—and he shares his testimony in a non-offensive way. When people see what God has done in Todd’s life, faith arises in their hearts.

“God is using Todd in two ways,” Morris says. “He is using him to rekindle love in believers’ hearts and lives. When believers see how passionate he is about the Lord and about helping people, it rekindles a fire in all of us to be more passionate about sharing our faith and ministering to people wherever we go. The second way God is using Todd is to equip people to share their faith and minister to others by extending God’s love, compassion and power. He’s a very effective communicator and equipper of the saints.”

Equipping a Fatherless Generation

Bible revelations—revelations of sonship—are the backdrop against which Todd ministers in the nations. He’s pouring out the love Holy Spirit has shed abroad in his heart with those snared in the bondages of drugs, alcohol, unbelief—and even religion. Indeed, his life has become a weapon of righteousness and a testimony of what understanding the extravagant love of God does in a person’s heart. He’s working to inspire believers to show forth the love of Christ in their homes and workplaces—on the streets and everywhere they walk.

“We need to be a people who are so heavenly minded we’re not known as people with no earthly good,” Todd says. “We need to be people who are so heavenly minded we’re earthly incredible, and our employer wants more people like us on the job. Christians should shine the brightest because they’re representing God, who is the greatest in everything. He wants us to manifest Him. All creation is groaning and waiting for the sons of God to manifest themselves.”

Lately, Todd has been traveling across America with his Power and Love School to raise up an army of sons and daughters who will manifest God. It’s a project he wants to devote his life to because he is determined to see the body of Christ walk in purity, power, love, grace and goodness, manifesting God’s presence everywhere we go. And it all comes back to embracing our identity in Christ, which Todd calls the church’s greatest challenge in this hour.

“There are people out there who are healing the sick, prophesying great prophecies and have amazing words of knowledge, but let’s never forget that the disciples—before they knew who they were—healed the sick and orphans with power Jesus gave them,” Todd says. “People can still have an adulterous relationship, cheat on their wife and operate in great gifting. But it says in Matthew 7, one day we’ll stand before God and think the miraculous was God’s stamp of approval on their life, and it’s really not.”

Certainly, Todd isn’t saying we should not pursue the supernatural. His power evangelism ministry and the many healings and miracles the Lord has worked through his faith speak for themselves. He’s saying the church scandals—whether public or private—are rooted in a lack of identity. He’s saying when we understand who we are, there is no place for active sin in our lives, the kind of sin that has tarnished moves of God so people remember the sin of a man more than the power of God.

“My biggest heart-cry for the church is for us to know who God is as a Father and trust individually to be fathered by Him—to not just say we’re saved, but to know what we’ve been saved to and what we’ve been saved from,” Todd says.

“I long for the body of Christ to realize she has been forgiven, that she doesn’t have a past, because your past is the one thing that can separate you from receiving the love of God that’s in Christ Jesus,” he says. “The one thing that can separate you is not believing that your past does not exist in the eyes of the Father. This revelation will change people’s lives forever. It changed mine.”

When Religious Spirits Masquerade as Prophets

If you could look at my e-mail inbox, some of what you read would make you cry out in travail for the trauma good people in the body of Christ are suffering. Other messages would make you shout for joy as testimonies of breakthrough roll in. Still others would make you scratch your head and ask, “How can anyone who calls themselves a Christian behave this way?”

I got an email last week that ranks in the top 10 ridiculous category. I’ve left off this person’s last name so he doesn’t get flooded with rebukes. Take a read and judge the spirit thereof and let’s learn some lessons about prophecy along the way.

A Long False Prophecy That Carries a Curse

My name is Robert and I am a Prophet here in McKinney, Texas. I moved here about 7 months ago with my wife and children from Miramar, there in South Florida. Holy Spirit led me to one of your YouTube videos and told me to contact you and give you this word.

For the past 9 months the Lord Jesus has been using me to give words to many of the saints about moving. Many of these saints are Apostles, Prophets, and Pastors with large ministries. As you may or may not know, judgement is here for America. Catastrophic events are going to start happening soon so God is moving his saints into specific safe areas and assignments.

The word that I have been told to give you is that Jesus is calling you to move your family and ministry to the Dallas, Texas area as soon as possible. 1 Peter 4:17 says judgement must begin at the house of God. Every believers [sic] obedience is being tested right now. Jesus says to whom much is given, much is required.

Let me pause on the prophecy right there. This is your textbook doom-and-gloom judgment prophet. Most doom-and-gloom judgement prophets have a religious spirit. There are true words of warning and God is a God of judgment, but this is not one of them. The Lord is not speaking to me to move.

I have had prophetic words from well-known, credible prophets about laboring for a great revival in my region. This religious doomsayer was sent by the devil in a feeble attempt to get me off the wall, just as false prophets were sent to Nehemiah to get him off the wall (Neh. 6:12-14).

Prophetic Presumption Exemplified

The false prophecy continues: “God is up to something big here in the Dallas area and I believe part of it has to do with TV because a lot of the saints that he told me to contact are or have been on television. I have also received a few prophetic words myself last year about being on TV which is not something I ever even thought about or wanted.”

Here’s a great example of prophetic presumption. We don’t need to have opinions about prophetic words. We need to have God’s mind on what God is saying. Presumption can be deadly, as I’ve said many times before. Notice also the emphasis on self here. If he’s supposed to be delivering a life-saving word to me, why does he talk about how God wants to put him on TV?

When the Religious Spirit Manifests

The false prophecy continues:

Also The Lord is bringing true biblical holiness back to the church. Jesus says he wants you to stop cutting your hair short. 1 Corinthians 11:15, “But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.

Jesus is also saying to all his women no more fake hair, painted or fake nails, and no more makeup which as we read in the Bible was used by wicked women. Also no more earrings or jewelry, which were associated with idolatry in the Bible. A watch and wedding ring are all Jesus wants his women and men to wear. We have to be the example of what holiness looks and acts like. 1 Timothy 2:9, “In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with braided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array.”

Also read 1 Peter 3:1-5. Jesus says he is coming for a church without spot or wrinkle and he made women perfect without these foolish things … Will be praying for you sister and God bless!

I don’t have room in this column to teach about the religious spirit. I believe in holiness, but holiness is a matter of the heart, not the hairstyle. Esther was a godly woman, and she wore jewelry, makeup and expensive clothing. I agree with the modesty message and have championed it. But I don’t agree with this prophetic word came from the Lord because neither the message nor the messenger is lining up with the character of God. {eoa}

This Prophecy Exposes Fear’s Fierce Manifestations

God doesn’t want us to fear—not even a little. That’s because fear contaminates our faith. We can’t move in faith and move in fear at the same time—and faith is the currency of the kingdom.

Hear the word of the Lord: “Fear is a manifestation of the enemy’s lies. Satan is the father of lies, the father of fear, the father of destruction and devastation. I have not and will not give you a spirit of fear. I have given you a spirit of power to overcome the fear that’s trying to overcome you. I have given you My love that combats every feeling of fear. I have given you a sound mind to discern the subtle voice of fear that speaks against your dreams. Don’t allow yourself to fear for even a second. Call out to Me and My love will deliver you from every fear.”

God didn’t give you a spirit of fear—but that doesn’t mean you don’t have one. You may know you have fear—or fear may be deceiving you with its wily whispers and sneaky strongholds in your soul. Those anxieties that have plagued you, those voices that have prophesied to you, they must bow in the name of Jesus!

My Deliverance From Fear

Fear once had such a tight grip on my soul, if an email came that I thought offered bad news I would close my eyes, forward it to a friend, and ask them to read it and tell me what it said. One time, I ordered pizza, and when the delivery boy knocked on the door it scared me so much I locked myself in my bedroom. Then I called to complain that the pizza never showed up!

That fear was a bondage that affected every area of my life. But fear is not always so obvious. I did some research and discovered a phobia list. There are literally dozens of diagnosed phobias. Some are common, and some are so ridiculous you know the devil has to be at work. Here’s some of the ridiculous ones:

  • Fear of flowers
  • Fear of feet
  • Fear of numbers
  • Fear of ugliness
  • Fear of books
  • Fear of teenagers
  • Fear of mirrors
  • Fear of cooking
  • Fear of clocks

I saw a lady on TV who was scared of pickles. Another lady was afraid of cotton balls. She said they made a noise. These fears were literally ruining their lives. You and I aren’t dealing with anything so ridiculous. But we could be dealing with subtle fears that are robbing God’s best for our lives.

There are many other “fear ofs” we may not even know we face, such as: fear of failure, fear of lack, fear of success, fear of disappointing people, fear of losing a job, fear of loneliness, fear of making decisions, fear of conflict, fear of rejection, fear of losing relationships and so on.

Fear is the most difficult to overcome when its influence is so subtle it’s hard to trace a behavior to the root of fear. It’s an invisible enemy. If you have a fear failure, you may not even know it because your coping mechanism, your response to fear, has become part of your personality.

When fear influences you, you take action based on your fear instead of your faith. You keep failing because you don’t have the faith to succeed. You won’t make a decision because you’re afraid you didn’t hear from God. You won’t try to make new friends because you’re afraid of rejection. You won’t sow because you fear lack.

The Overarching Answer to Overcoming Fear

The Holy Spirit told me this: “When you have a healthy fear of the Lord, you become so consumed with pleasing Him—you become so full of faith in His power—that there is literally no room for the devil’s fear tactics. We won’t take thought to his suggestions because we believe God!

I’m scared not to believe God! Fear is part of the curse of the law (see Deut. 28:66). Jesus redeemed us from the curse of the law (see Gal. 3:13). God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind (see 2 Tim. 1:7). Fear dilutes your power, causes you to doubt God’s love—that perfect love that casts out fear—and makes your mind unsound. Reverent, worshipful fear of the Lord carries a revelation of the love of God. It carries a revelation of the power of God. It carries a revelation of the truth of God’s Word. It’s all wrapped up in the fear of the Lord!

I challenge you today to meditate on the fear of the Lord. Fear is a fierce enemy, but your God is fiercer than any spirit of fear. If God is for us, who can be against us? Jeremiah 20:11 (MSG) says, “But God, a most fierce warrior, is at my side.  Those who are after me will be sent sprawling—Slapstick buffoons falling all over themselves, a spectacle of humiliation no one will ever forget.” And Nahum 1:2 assures us, “God is serious business. He won’t be trifled with. He avenges his foes. He stands up against his enemies, fierce and raging.” Amen! {eoa}

3 Sure Signs of a False Apostle

Since the 1990s, we’ve been witnessing the Lord restoring the office of the apostle to the church. Of course, the rise of true ministry gifts always prompts Satan to raise up a counterfeit anointing to pervert the pond.

The Bible warns of false apostles, and I’ve certainly seen my fair share of them. But what does a false apostle look like? How do you recognize them? What does Scripture really say about these hucksters?

I decided to study this out after I saw several articles online arguing Paul, who wrote two-thirds of the New Testament, was a false apostle. Between such odd assertions and the number of people claiming to be apostles without any evident fruit, I set out like a good Berean to offer some truth on false apostles.

Yes, There Are Modern-Day Apostles

Before we get into the signs of a false apostle—and this is just part one in a series—let’s start off with a foundational Scripture to set the stage. Eph. 4:11-14 makes the case for modern-day apostles:

He gave some to be apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers, for the equipping of the saints, for the work of service, and for the building up of the body of Christ, until we all come into the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, into a complete man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so we may no longer be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about with every wind of doctrine by the trickery of men, by craftiness with deceitful scheming.

Nowhere in Scripture does it say Jesus stopped calling apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. (We’ll look more closely at the functions and purposes of apostles in another series, but I felt an urgency to start raising awareness of the biblical signs of false apostles this week.) I am not offering sign of false apostles based on my experience with them, as that’s subjective and can start a witch hunt. The Bible has plenty to say on its own without inserting our opinions at this point.

Just as we find authentic apostles in the New Testament, Paul made it plain there were false apostles in his day—and there are still false apostles in our day. We’ll start our study exploring 2 Corinthians 11. Note that just because someone has poor character does not make them a false minister, but false ministers have poor character.

1. False apostles boast about themselves. They are braggarts. Paul longed to impart spiritual gifts to help establish people in what God was calling them to do (Rom. 1:11). False apostles seek to puff themselves up in your eyes so they can get something from you rather than adding something to your life.

Paul wrote, “And I will continue doing what I am doing, that I may cut off the opportunity from those who desire an opportunity to be found equal to us in what they boast about. For such are false apostles…” (2 Cor. 11:12-13a).

Proverbs 27:2 says, “Let another man praise you, and not your own mouth; a stranger, and not your own lips.” Now, it’s absolutely legitimate to offer stories and testimonies of the power of God because it builds people’s faith. But false apostles are more interested in puffed-up power stories that exalt themselves rather than glorifying Christ and building your faith in Him. It can be a fine line, but the line is there.

2. False apostle are merchandisers. What was Paul speaking about in 2 Cor. 11:12? What was he going to continue to do in order to cut off opportunity from the false apostles who wanted equal status with Paul and his true apostolic company? He was preaching the gospel free of charge.

“Did I commit a sin in abasing myself that you might be exalted, because I preached to you the gospel of God free of charge? I robbed other churches by accepting wages from them to serve you. Furthermore, when I was present with you and was lacking, I was a burden to no one” (2 Cor. 11:7-9).

There is nothing wrong with receiving an offering for the work of the gospel. There is everything wrong when you begin fleecing the sheep to line your pockets for personal gain. There is nothing wrong with asking partners to help support your ministry. There is everything wrong with manipulating people for mammon.

3. False apostles are deceitful workers. False apostles operate in deceit and align with those who operate in deceit. Just as there are companies of false prophets, there are networks of false apostles.

In context of those who brag and merchandise people, Paul wrote, “For such are false apostles and deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also disguise themselves as ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works” (2 Cor. 11:13-15).

The Greek word for “deceitful” in this verse means just that: deceitful. False apostles are not merely people who take on a title without the gift, the calling or the fruit. They may be sincere and misguided—but that doesn’t make them false. False apostles are those who set out to deceive.

I pray that the Lord would sharpen your discernment in these last days, to recognize these deceitful workers; to avoid labeling the false as true and the true as false; and to rightly divide the word of truth, in Jesus’ name. Amen. {eoa}
