Dream Interpretation Answers: Can I Receive My Calling in a Dream?

Given the average human sleeps eight hours a night—one-third of our time spent on planet Earth—it should come as no surprise that God will at times speak to us through Spirit-inspired dreams. So then why are most of us clueless as to what they all mean?

In this installment of the dream series, Jennifer answers common questions to dream meanings. Stay tuned for dream interpretation tips.

A Startling Dream About the Squid Spirit

Just days ago, I had a startling dream about the squid spirit. I’m not the first one to talk about it, though many deny its existence. Get the truth in this video.

Are ‘Water Spirits’ for Real? The Truth About Marine Demons

When I was a secular journalist, I went on assignment to the Dry Tortugas National Park off the shores of the Florida Keys. Home to the largest marine sanctuary of its kind in the United States, the area is off-limits to fishing to preserve highly-exploited marine life species. I had a front-row view of magnificent coral and exotic fish as the sun beat down on the boat deck. What I couldn’t see were the marine demons below the surface.

The oceans and waters of the earth are filled with beautiful creatures—and some of them are dangerous. Take the striped surgeonfish as a natural example. With its nearly neon green and blue stripes, this fish is stunning—but its spine is venomous. Hideous marine demons are trolling below the surface of the water with a deadly agenda to kill, steal and destroy lives. You can’t see them any more than you can see spirits of fear or rejection, but they are actively engaged in aquatic ministry. Of course, they don’t only work in the water. They just make their home base there.

Perhaps the closest parallel we can make between natural sea creatures and marine demons is the jellyfish. Some jellyfish merely sting—others are deadly like the sea wasp box jellyfish (the deadliest in the world), the Portuguese man-of-war (which is technically a colony of organisms) and the Irukandji jellyfish. According to Conservation Institute, you’re unlikely to see this tiny creature coming because it’s only .02 inches and is nearly transparent.

“It is a member of the notorious box jellyfish family, and is arguably the most venomous animal on the planet. Its toxin is 100 stronger than that of a cobra. Both the tentacles and bell can sting,” Conservation Institute writes. “A single sting may be treatable. Multiple stings are almost certainly deadly. Symptoms include severe muscle cramps, pain in the kidneys and back, burning sensations, headache, vomiting and tachycardia. If you live, it won’t be a fun memory.”

Marine demons are like venomous jellyfish. They release toxic imaginations as they work to wrap their tentacles around you. The attack can sting your soul or body. If you don’t discern the attack quickly enough and sustain multiple stings, it could kill relationships, steal your peace of mind or health and destroy opportunities God has planned for you. You can defeat it. The battle won’t be a fun memory, but the victory will be sweet.

There are three realms of the universe: the heavenlies, the earth and the sea. Psalm 146:6 tells us God made “heaven, and earth, the sea and all that is in them.” Here we see three realms of creation—and three realms of spiritual strongholds. In Nehemiah 9:6a, the Levites said, “‘You alone are the Lord. You have made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in the.'”

The third realm or stronghold of creation is the seas. In Exodus 20:4, the Lord speaks expressly: “You shall not make for yourself any graven idol, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water below the earth.” Many Christians have never heard of water spirits, but the Bible speaks of the category of sea monsters—on many occasions. Ancient religions have made gods of sea creatures, but these are really demonic entities.

A few of the Scriptures that mention water spirits include: Ezekiel 29:3-4, Job 34, Revelation 17:1-2, Revelation 12:12 and 1 Samuel 5:3. Acts 6 mentions the python spirit. Isaiah 27:1 mentions Leviathan. While some of these verses speak to specific marine demons and the principles of defeating them, others offer evidence to the broader classification of water spirits—or how spirits work in the waters.

Revelation 12:12 is perhaps the best example: “Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe unto the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you in great wrath, because he knows that his time is short.”

There are many marine demons—or water spirits—listed in Scripture. You’ve heard of Leviathan and python, but spirits like squid, Rahab, Behemoth and others are prowling around like the proverbial Jaws waiting to attack. The first step to defeating these demons is not to be ignorant of their devices. Study Scriptures. Know the enemy. Water spirits are rising. {eoa}

Spiritual Warfare Secrets: Waging Underwater Warfare

What is underwater warfare? It’s battling water spirits or, as some call them, marine demons.

Everyday people are feeling the effects of unseen evil forces, and yet they don’t know what’s attacking them, let alone how to have victory.

While many spiritual warriors are familiar with principalities and powers like Jezebel and witchcraft, few have heard of marine demons. Also called “water spirits,” these powers wreak havoc in places near bodies of water. From Python to Leviathan to Merman to Rahab and beyond, spiritual warriors are feeling the effects of water spirits but often don’t know how to combat these evil forces.

Check out this video teaching and let God open your eyes to these unseen enemies.

5 Ways to Ward off Witchcraft in This Dark Season

To everything there is a season—and this is the season where witchcraft gets heavy, demonic imaginations target minds and infirmities inflict bodies.

Of course, Jezebel and her witchcrafts can creep onto the scene any time of the year. But every single October for as far back as I can remember I see an onslaught of spiritual attacks from every direction. It’s like clockwork.

What is witchcraft? Merriam-Webster defines witchcraft as “the use of magical powers obtained especially from evil spirits; the use of sorcery or magic; communication with the devil or the familiar.” You might think of the voodoo priests or the witch doctors, but as I’ve said before, even Christians can release witchcraft at you with their thoughts and words.

Witchcraft can be in the spiritual atmosphere due to demonic activity from those practicing its various expressions—but witchcraft can also be released directly at you as a spiritual attack. During this time of year, we see a celebration of darkness and evil. You can’t walk into a retail store without seeing vampires, witches, ghouls and goblins.

All of this fascination and agreement with rulers of the darkness of this age impacts the spiritual climate in our cities and over our lives. You may wind up feeling sick and tired for no reason. You may have raging imaginations against your soul. You may feel like giving up. You may be touchy or find that people are easily offended at you.

Please, pay close attention and remember that we aren’t warring against flesh and blood, and the weapons of our warfare are not carnal. This is a spiritual battle against a spiritual foe that must bow to our spiritual weapons.

1. Gird the loins of your mind. The first step in any battle is to gird up the loins of your mind. 1 Peter 1:13 says, “Therefore guard your minds, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”

The battle really is in the mind—or at least it starts there. Last week, a friend of mine who had a stroke many years ago began manifesting with post-stroke symptoms out of the blue. The enemy was working on his mind, trying to convince him that what he had been delivered from was returning. Meanwhile, a lump manifested on the back of my neck that itched and burned like fire, followed a few days later by ear pain so bad that I could hardly think, the feeling of knives in my throat when I swallowed and rocks in my stomach all at once. I finally broke down and went to the doctor. My vitals were normal. No sign of infection. I am convinced every bit of it was witchcraft.

2. Guard your heart. The Amplified Bible, Classic Edition version of 1 Peter 1:13a says, “brace up your minds; be sober (circumspect, morally alert).” Jezebel and her witchcrafts work to draw you into sin. When you are under heavy attack, your soul gets weary. Jesus can offer rest to your soul, but Jezebel wants to provide you a different way of escape through sin. Jezebel works to seduce you into idolatry or immorality (see Rev. 2:20). When you feel like you are getting hit from every side, guard your heart.

The Preacher said, “Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life. Put away from you a deceitful mouth, and put perverse lips far from you. Let your eyes look right on, and let your eyelids look straight before you. Ponder the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established. Do not turn to the right or to the left; remove your foot from evil” (Prov. 4:23-27, MEV). Don’t run into temptation when you are under attack, run for cover—run to Jesus.

3. Cast down imaginations. Imaginations don’t always work to push sickness on you or tempt you to sin. Sometimes the devil just wants to overwhelm you with witchcraft imaginations so you’ll give up and go hide in a cave with a bag of potato chips, a bowl of ice cream, a big pillow and the TV remote control. If the Holy Spirit dwells in you, so does the fruit of self-control. You can choose by your will to “[cast] down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ” (2 Cor. 10:5).

But it’s up to you. Nobody can cast down those scary, hurtful or otherwise wrong thoughts for you—and nobody can replace them with “whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report” (Phil. 4:8).

4. Cast your cares on the Lord. I’m not saying you don’t have legitimate problems or concerns. I know all about legitimate problems and concerns. But mature spiritual warriors understand the balance between taking responsibility and casting your cares on the Lord (see 1 Pet. 5:7; Ps. 55:22).

Witchcraft imaginations totally skew your perspective—making monumental issues out of something God could fix with a wink. Cast your care on the Lord. Keep your eyes on Him. Pray for what you think you need—then believe He’s got your back. When you do, He promises to care for you and give you perfect peace (see Isa. 26:3).

5. Speak the Word, use the name and invoke the blood. You have three powerful weapons at your disposal—spiritual weapons that are mighty through God to pull down strongholds. It’s hard to effectively wield those weapons when you are wallowing in condemnation, self-pity, fear or some other harmful emotion.

Snap out of it! Get the Word of God in your mouth because it’s your spiritual sword (Heb. 4:12). Speak the Word to your problems because the Word of God always accomplishes its purpose (Isa. 55:11). Bind the enemy’s operations in the name of Jesus, and loose the opposite of what’s manifesting in your life with the power of life that’s in your tongue. And plead the blood of Jesus over your mind (Rev. 12:11). You’ve been bought with a price—spirit, soul and body. Your soul includes your mind.

Angels of Revelation Released to Dreamers

Every time I visit Singapore, I get a renewed worldview. It’s as if the spirit realm opens up to me and I see with greater clarity. Last year, the Lord released angels of fire to accompany me—and they haven’t left me.

This year was a little more intense. I woke up on my first morning in Singapore with the realization that there were angels and demons in my room. I felt the presence of God, but also felt a war in the Spirit.

I knew the Holy Spirit was trying to show me something, but there was a battle going on. That battle manifested in the natural with all forms of distractions. I had to press through to receive from the Lord what He had ordained for me that morning.

After pressing through the battle and quieting my soul, I heard the Lord say:

Ancient angels from the company of revelation are going to visit those in this hour who have been experiencing dreams and visions they do not comprehend and cannot understand.

I have released companies of revelation angels to expound and explain those deeper truths that many could not bear and the mysteries that have so far only been partially unlocked to a few over the ages.

I am releasing these angels with a word of caution to My people: Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. Stick close to me, closer than you have ever drawn, and you will avoid deception and enter into a deeper mode of revelation in your daily walk.

The unknown will become known in layers and degrees as you demonstrate consistency in the spirit. I am bringing My seers and prophetic people into a new dimension of the revelatory realm where mind cannot comprehend, but angels can explain.

Just as I sent angels to Daniel and John to bring understanding of what they were seeing, I am dispatching angels on assignment to bring understanding to those who have been crying out for accurate interpretations of things they see and hear as they lay on their bed or as they walk through their days.

I am dispatching angels on assignment to bring “aha” moments for the purpose of prayer and intercession that bring My will to pass and My kingdom into the earth in greater measure. I am calling you to incline your ear to Me, to seek first My kingdom and to receive my angels of revelation.

3 Ways to Discern the Call to the Office of the Prophet

The No. 1 most frequently asked question I get when I teach on the prophetic is this: Am I a prophet? How do I tell? In this video, I share three ways to discern a calling to the office of the prophet on your life.

5779: A Year to Embrace New Wineskins and Reject False Wineskins

5779 is a new year when the new wine will flow freely—but we must also embrace, and in some instances actually become, new wineskins.

In Matthew 9:17, Jesus said: “Neither do men put new wine into old wineskins. Or else the wineskins burst, the wine runs out, and the wineskins perish. But they put new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.”

A wineskin is essentially a container or a vessel that stores liquid. Jesus said rivers of living water would flow from our belly (John 7:37-39). New wine will flow from our vessel if we embrace—and in some instances become—new wineskins.

This means a change in the way we move, live and have our being (see Acts 17:28). With the new wine will come new creativity and new methods. We must not expect to do business as usual or church as usual. Those who embrace the spirit of innovation will see an accelerated growth as the Holy Spirit breaths the wind of momentum over your work.

Those who don’t embrace the new wineskin will not be able to hold the new wine God is pouring out in this season. Their wineskins will be like bags with holes (see Hag. 1:6). Times of refreshing will come to those willing to change the way they think and embrace the new wineskin (see Acts 3:20). But the enemy will bring weariness to those who won’t embrace the Holy Spirit’s leading to follow Him.

Noteworthy is the fact that wineskins in biblical times were made of either sheep or goat skin. Prophetically speaking, I believe the outpouring of new wine will begin to separate the sheep from the goats—the true from the false. You will know them by their fruit (see Matt. 7:15-20). New wine manifests with not just the gifts of the Spirit but the fruit of the Spirit.

Although the ultimate separation won’t come until the judgment of the nations, Jesus describes in Matthew 25:31-46, we will see exposure this year of those who are abusing the new wine or who are not holding it in vessels of honor.

In 2 Timothy 2:20-23, Paul told his spiritual son: “In a large house there are not only gold and silver vessels, but also those of wood and clay; some are for honor, and some for dishonor. One who cleanses himself from these things will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, fit for the Master’s use, and prepared for every good work. So flee youthful desires and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. But avoid foolish and unlearned debates, knowing that they create strife.”

Only those who pursue righteousness will be able to hold the new wine. Those who abuse spiritual gifts, merchandise the saints, exert false charisma and the like will be exposed in the eyes of those who have clean hands and a pure heart.

Prophecy: I Am Releasing My Anointing on a New Generation of Seers and Scribes

I heard the Lord say, “I am calling My scribes to describe what they see and hear before they say.”

Speaking Up and Speaking Out in an Ecclesiastes 3:7 Season

You’ve been silent long enough. We’re in a season to speak out.

Ecclesiastes 3 insists, “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.”

In this hour, we find ourselves in an Ecclesiastes 3:7 season: “a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak.”

Prophetically speaking, we’re in a season where it’s time to tear away from toxic relationships, jobs and ministries and begin to sew up the hurts and wounds the enemy inflicted upon us in the last season.

Prophetically speaking, it’s a time to break the silence and speak out about the principles and principalities that are working to cause untimely death, breakdowns, weeping, mourning, loss and war. Put plainly, many have lived on the negative side of Ecclesiastes 3 for far too long.

Although God works all things together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purposes (see Rom. 8:28), there comes a time when the season must change. There comes a time when we must uproot what the enemy planted. Sometimes that means uprooting ourselves from familiar people and places God wants us to leave behind.

Many in the body of Christ have found themselves in times of war with no peace for far too long. Many are weary. Many are wounded. Many have learned hard lessons at the hands of Christian betrayers, backstabbers, blackballers, blackmailers, blacklisters and bullies.

There were times when Jesus remained silent in the face of His false accusers. Silence is often the best defense as demonstrates reliance on God. But when you emerge from a season of persecution healed and whole, don’t be afraid to speak out.

Speak out about the elements of enemy attack and the impact. Speak out about what you learned about your spiritual foe. Speak out about how you attained the victory.

There’s a time to stay silent and there’s a time to break the silence. Many have been silent long enough. We’re in a season to speak out.
