Greg Laurie: Will This Landmark Movement Reignite the Flame for Revival?

Greg Laurie, one of the most popular evangelists today, sees a growing need for awakening and revival among today’s generations.

Could the Jesus People Movement of the 1960s and ’70s be the catalyst we need to see awakening and revival again today?

“It’s been said the fame of revival spreads the flame of revival so I thought if I could tell this story in an understandable way, prayerfully and hopefully, it can inspire a new generation to want to pray for revival for right now because America really needs a spiritual awakening,” Laurie, author of Jesus Revolution, shares with Charisma publisher Dr. Steve Greene.

3 Major Questions About the Antichrist

The subject of the Antichrist—who or even now “what” he will be, when he is coming and if he is already on the scene—has been discussed by many around the world, regardless of their faith. Would you recognize him?

Now, author and minister Mark Biltz takes an in-depth look at some of the questions surrounding the Antichrist in his soon-to-be-released book, Decoding the Antichrist and the End Times: What the Bible Says and What the Future Holds.

For the past 2,000 years, Biltz says, people have been anxiously trying to analyze who the Antichrist might be and when he might be revealed. Many people have made preposterous claims, and of course, they have all been wrong.

“If people aren’t careful, they can get caught up in the debate and spend so much time arguing with other Christians over the details that they don’t accomplish anything for the kingdom!” Biltz said. “Decoding the Antichrist and the End Times will help readers see the big picture of what has happened historically, what is unfolding this very moment, and what the future holds concerning the Antichrist based on the unfolding purposes of God.”

Decoding the Antichrist and the End Times asks deep questions such as the following:

  • What does the Bible say about the Antichrist, his tactics and his motivation?
  • Will he be a Muslim, a Jew or a Christian—or something else?
  • Will the Antichrist work through modern technology to take over?

“I believe we are truly entering the final chapter on this world’s stage, and the curtain will soon be coming down or rolled away,” Biltz said. “I am not claiming to know how many pages are left in God’s script, but those who have eyes to see and ears to hear what the Spirit of God is saying know it is time to start packing your bags, spiritually speaking. It’s time to listen for the sound of the shofar!”

Mark Biltz is founder of El Shaddai Ministries and a well-known and popular commentator on the feasts of the Lord. In fact, he has produced a series of DVDs on the feasts that have gone around the world. Biltz is also the author of Blood Moons and God’s Day Timer. His research and theories have led to guest appearances on both radio and television as well as being featured on the covers of magazines.

Decoding the Antichrist and the End Times, set for release March 5, is published by FrontLine, an imprint of Charisma House, which has published books that challenge, encourage, teach and equip Christians, including 14 New York Times’ best-sellers.

You Won’t Believe What This ‘Duck Dynasty’ Star Has Done Since the Show Ended

Duck Dynasty star Missy Robertson is passionate about helping those in need. From assisting women coming out of trafficking and prison to helping children and families in need, Robertson and her family have devoted much of their time to charity—a topic that the TV star recently discussed in detail during an interview with “The Billy Hallowell Podcast.”

Robertson explained the powerful work she and her husband, Jase, are doing through their charity, the Mia Moo Fund, an organization they founded in 2014 to “assure that each and every child has a warm and bright smile.”

The Robertsons’ daughter Mia, 15, was born with a cleft lip and palate, and now they are trying to assist other families who face the same journey. The goal is to help these mothers and fathers navigate the complexities and pitfalls that often accompany these complex birth defects.

Listen to Robertson share her journey below:

“When I was diagnosed at 31 weeks’ gestation, we did not know what this would entail,” Robertson explained, noting that awareness sometimes isn’t prevalent. “It’s not really a fixable condition, but it’s a manageable condition.”

Clarifying that “cleft” means “a hole” or slit in the upper lip or roof of the mouth, she noted that every child is different, and that each family faces a unique battle. Through the Mia Moo Fund, she’s hoping to help families navigate the uncertainty and cost that comes with the condition.

“One of the functions of the Mia Moo Fund is to spread awareness of the cleft lip and palate journey,” she said. “The other one is to help with medical funds for the parents and the families living right here in America.”

So far, the Robertsons have helped 59 families, with over $275,000 in assistance.

At the end of October, Missy and Jase hosted an event at a plantation they recently purchased—an effort aimed at spending quality time with some of the families who have been assisted through the Mia Moo Foundation.

“We invited all of the families that we had helped … 22 families came,” she said. “And they came and we were able to meet them, we were able to spend time with them … and we just had what we called the ‘Mia Moo Fun Day.'”

With food, family time, games and discussion, Robertson said she’s hoping to make the event an annual happening.

What You Need to Know About Jezebel, Python, Religious Spirits

Prophetic voice Ryan LeStrange is sounding the alarm on the devil’s toxic trio: the combination of the Jezebel, python and religious spirits.

“I believe they all have a similar assignment and that is that they’re an anti-anointing spirit,” LeStrange shares with Charisma publisher Dr. Steve Greene in an episode of “Greenelines.”

“You’ve probably heard it said that the anointing destroys the yoke, and we get that from Isaiah. The yoke means the thing that ties you to a bondage, so if I’m tied to bondage of depression for example, the anointing is that force of heaven that destroyed that tie, breaks that tie, so these three spirits really go after the anointing in different ways.

“The python spirit, for example, is a spirit that will choke the breath out of somebody and also is a spirit that we would associate with divination which would be like false spiritual practices, psychic phenomenon, New Age phenomena, predicting the future to unclean powers, not the power of the Holy Spirit. Any prophetic person, any person that endeavors to be led by the Spirit of God, they’re going to battle at times the python spirit,” LeStrange says.

What Happened When This Skeptic Investigated the Inner Healing Ministry of Sozo

“Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is expedient for you that I go away. For if I do not go away, the Counselor will not come to you. But if I go, I will send Him to you. When He comes, He will convict the world of sin and of righteousness and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in Me; of righteousness, because I am going to My Father, and you will see Me no more; and of judgment, because the ruler of this world stands condemned.

“I have yet many things to tell you, but you cannot bear them now. But when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. For He will not speak on His own authority. But He will speak whatever He hears, and He will tell you things that are to come” (John 16:7-13).

Jesus also warned his disciples to beware of the “leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees,” which is hypocrisy and denial of the supernatural, but his admonition has not been heeded in much of church history. Some churches and even denominations have ignored the promise of the Holy Spirit sent to dwell in all believers. Jesus said it was “good” that He was leaving. Obviously, one who could dwell within millions of people simultaneously could transform mankind far more effectively than could a single, wandering minister of truth.

It is encouraging to see many in the church celebrating the advantages of the Holy Spirit’s indwelling, turning to Him in supplication, seeking advice, power for healing and answers to life’s complexities. Jesus said without Him, we could do nothing. Jesus did not lie! The Advocate arrived as promised and remains with us, faithfully responding to all who seek him in sincerity.

In recognition of our need for Him, seeking to fill a spiritual vacuum that results when we ignore Him, a Holy Spirit ministry given the name Sozo has grown from its birthing 21 years ago in California to encompass the globe. While most Sozo ministers follow foundational teachings and seek to partner closely with the Holy Spirit, a few badly misuse and abuse the “Sozo tools” through ignorance or in search of personal gain. How should the rest of us react to this situation? Where is truth?

The answer to the question is obvious. “I’ll look into it and test it for myself! Rather than take the scattered words of others, I’ll go to the source and then draw a conclusion, form an opinion based on personal experience, simultaneously asking the Holy Spirit for His wisdom regarding the Sozo ministry.”

This writer did just that. I signed up for a Sozo session, two of them, in fact. A third session, called an Art Sozo, was especially intriguing. I have long taken advantage of the Holy Spirit’s indwelling, but found the sessions inspiring and memorable, ever deepening an already maturing relationship with God. I then sat in on a couple of sessions as an observer, and was astounded to see people who had been Christians for decades react in surprise to the news that they could speak with the Advocate and He would respond!

William Kline, a long-time former pastor at Rez Church in Loveland, Colorado, somewhat over a year ago launched a regional Loveland-based Sozo ministry, independent of any formal connections with the organized church. However, he maintains relationships of accountability with many pastors in Northern Colorado. Pastor Kline has done this to maintain the integrity of the Sozo movement, freeing the program from possible outside influence on the practice, spread and integrity of his group’s strictly Bible-based teachings.

As a result, Pastor Kline has cooperated with the Holy Spirit in bringing a remarkable, foundationally-solid form of Sozo to the Catholic Church and to varied congregations in the Denver area, along with many traditional Protestant groupings. Some secular rehabilitation organizations have also invited the program into their restorative processes. Indeed, the ministry’s influence has spread across the mountain states under Pastor’s Kline’s commission as regional facilitator of the ministry/movement.

Returning to the subject of Art Sozo ministry specifically, it is intriguing because few Christians look at creativity as something God gives them as a means of expressing their love of their Maker. I have been gifted in some ways, but I too never considered artistic expression as a form of worship and connection until I tried an Art Sozo. In understanding the ministry, it’s best likened to singing or dancing before the Lord. In worshipping the author of our souls, all humans respond in various ways and forms of emotional and devotional expression. Some play musical and/or percussionist instruments, while others close their eyes and sway rhythmically. Some shout loudly and laugh joyously. Some write books and articles for others to enjoy.

Frequently overlooked is the fact that many also find a refreshingly new and deepening relationship with God through drawings and artwork. I tried it on my own and found it to be liberating. While meditating on the Lord, as my hands moved about in selecting and forming shapes, colors and patterns, I had a strong sense of working out a good and acceptable yielding of my will, soul and body under leadership of the Holy Spirit.

I personally do not believe emotionally expressive behavior is anything but pleasing to the author of joy, celebration and thanksgiving. Neither do I think staid, non-expressive traditions are anything but pleasing to the Lord.

It all comes down to a matter of how we interpret Paul’s instructions for our gatherings, advising us to conduct them in good order when meeting in Jesus’ name. Indeed, as in politics, believers sometime go to extremes with matters spiritual. Consider also the actions of the many who pull away fully from foundational teachings of the gospel. The formation of new religions and associated assemblies on a global basis has always been with us, as Jesus predicted.

The best course of action is to turn away from that which offends us and just move on. The greater danger is to let our distaste become hate-filled and abusive, even doing the work of the accuser, causing division, strife and drawing judgment to our houses for refusing to turn the other cheek and, in the process, discarding the command to love all neighbors as ourselves. {eoa}

Christian Bale Thanked Satan for Inspiring Him to Play Dick Cheney

Actor Christian Bale thanked Satan at the Golden Globes for helping him with his latest role.

“Thank you, Satan, for giving me the inspiration on how to play this role,” Bale said in his acceptance speech for best actor in a musical or comedy for his role as Dick Cheney in Vice.

The Church of Satan was thrilled with the actor’s words, while others, like Cheney’s daughter Liz took offense.

Vice is an Adam McKay (The Big Short) directed film about former Vice President Dick Cheney, and how he rose through the political ranks.

Conservatives have taken major issue with the film, claiming it inaccurately represents the second Bush administration.

“By the way, [Bale] did make [Cheney] seem like Satan, by reports,” Fox & Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade said. “Also made Rumsfeld seem extremely evil, President Bush look like a doofus. Condoleezza Rice totally was ignored, as was Karl Rove, they didn’t say a word, evidently, in the entire movie. And Colin Powell was duped. … So nothing accurate about this movie. But it was good enough for Christian Bale to play it and get an award for it. I don’t really know anyone who saw it, do you?”

WATCH: Pentecostal Pastor Hosts ‘Night of Hope, Healing’ for Crash Victims

The Pentecostals of Gainesville opened their church doors and their wallets after fellow United Pentecostal Church International congregation Avoyelles House of Mercy lost five children in a tragic church van crash last week.

Gainesville Pastor Jim Toney shared that his church had chosen to buy the burial plots for the children killed in the fiery car crash that made international headlines. The church is also collecting money for the victims’ families.

The congregation also hosted a “Night of Hope and Healing” on Jan. 6.

“The bad news is we lost five beautiful lives last Thursday,” Toney said from the pulpit. “The bad news, families are forever altered. The bad news, people are truly hurting and carrying unfathomable pain, but the good news is, God’s going to keep doing business with us. It’s imperative that you keep doing business with God.

“We wanted to do this night of hope and healing, a time that we could gather together not only as a community but with this family and ask God to help us make sense of this horrible situation,” Toney continued.

Please Pray for the Families of These Pentecostal Children Killed in Fiery Wreck

They were on their way to Disney World when the unthinkable happened. Five children and seven adults died in a fiery car crash that made international headlines: Cierra Bordelan, 9; Joel Cloud, 14; Brieana Descant, 10; Cara Descant, 13 and Jeremiah Warren, 14.

Two more people, 59-year old Steve Holland, who was driving the northbound truck, and 49-year-old Douglas Bolkema, who was driving the southbound truck, also died in the crash along Interstate 75 in Alachua County, Florida.

“I cried so much this morning that my tears felt like lava running out a volcano,” said Pastor Eric Descant, whose granddaughter died in the crash. Descant pastors Avoyelles House of Mercy in Marksville, Louisiana, where the children attended.

The United Pentecostal Church International released a statement from Louisiana District Superintendent Kevin Cox offering more information about the victims:

January 3, 2019, a van load of people from our UPC in Marksville, Louisiana, (Pastor Eric Descant) were on their way to Orlando, Florida. For some unknown reason, a large tractor-trailer truck crossed the median of I-75 near Gainesville, Florida, and crashed into the church van. Sister Karen Descant, the pastor’s wife, and two other adult ladies were on board the van. In addition, nine children were on the van. Sadly, five of those children did not survive the accident. Pastor Descant was not with them, but is at the hospital there in Gainesville with those who survived. One of the five children who died in the accident, was the granddaughter of Pastor Descant.

Sister Karen Descant has seven broken ribs, a broken collarbone, multiple bruises, cuts, etc. Pastor Descant’s words were, “She is pretty banged up. One of the ladies was pregnant, but we are told the baby is going to be all right. She too is pretty “banged up.” The other lady is not as severely injured, but is still in the hospital. The four children all have injuries, but the medical staff feel that all of them will heal and recover.”

It is possible that many of you have already been made aware of the accident because it made national news. But, you may not have heard that it was our own people who were involved. Pastor Jimmy Toney and his wife have been with our people almost the entire time since they were transported to the hospital. They and their church have been exceedingly kind in this horrific tragedy.

Please pray for the healing of those physical injuries. And, perhaps even more so, pray for the church and families that have been so massively affected by this tragedy.

The multi-vehicle crash involved two tractor-trailers, the church van and another sedan. The crash sparked a massive fire after 50 gallons of diesel gushed onto the highway, according to USA Today.

Spectrum My News 13 reports one of the semitrucks and a passenger vehicle collided in the northbound lanes. After that collision, both of those vehicles traveled through the guardrail, crossed over the median and into southbound I-75. The van overturned and ejected some of the passengers.

The surviving victims, including a pregnant woman, were in serious or critical condition, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

“My heart just broke,” said Richard Newman, with New Life Assembly of God. “The community, we need to come together. We need to be praying and supporting this church and families and the multiple families that are touched and devastated with this.”

More than 300 people attended a “Night of Healing” at The Pentecostals of Gainesville on Sunday.

“Your presence tonight is just another way of you showing support,” Pastor Jimmy Toney told the crowd.

Toney and his church jumped into action as soon as they heard about the crash.

“Our church is doing whatever we can to offer meals, offer houses, to pay for hotels, whatever we have to do to help with travel expense (and) back and forth,” Toney said.

He continued, “These are some of the most resilient people that I have ever met, they have a great faith base.”

The Pentecostals of Gainesville set up a fundraiser online for the victims’ families.

The Louisiana District United Pentecostal Church also set up a fund for monetary donations for the Marksville church and families affected by the tragic accident. Donations and contributions can be made online or by mail to P. O. Box 248, Tioga, LA 71477.

7 Killed in Pentecostal Church Van Crash on the Way to Disney World

Seven people, including five children, died in a fiery crash in Florida on Thursday.

A representative of the Avoyelles House of Mercy, a Pentecostal church in Louisiana, confirmed to Charisma via Facebook that it was their van, but offered no other information.

The Florida Highway Patrol has not released the names of the victims.

In addition to the seven fatalities, eight others were injured. The van was heading to Disney World.

“There are accidents on I-75 all the time, (and) we’ve had more deaths here on I-75 on this stretch than you could imagine,” said Roger Stephens, an Alachua County resident.

Alachua County Fire Rescue posted photos of the accident to its Facebook page.

One person commented, “I was there right after it happened. The fire and smoke was horrible. Being retired law enforcement I just had to help any way I could. Was in the main scene with a detupy [sic] from Alachua co. He was attempting to assess the injuries as I followed him with the defibrillator. It was the most horrific thing I have ever seen. So many lost so much. I later helped with traffic control. I had forgotten what [expletives] some people can be with their phones out trying to get pictures instead of moving out of the way. The South bound lane was closed and after about an hour or so the North bound lane was closed off. With so many deaths it will be closed for several hours. Lori Windham and I agree the first responders today we’re awesome. They truly have a tough job, AC deputies, Gainesville P.D., the fire Department, EMT’s, FHP, and others worked tirelessly and professionally. They all deserve our respect. When I left the scene, I knew some of those folks would be out there all night. So incredibly sad.”

Several people offered prayers on the Facebook post.

One person wrote: “May the God of Peace strengthen all lives involved in this tragedy. I am praying for and with you.”

Another posted: “LORD, cover the families with YOUR peace!!”

Spirit-Filled Worship Artist Sean Feucht Releases ‘Joyful, Spontaneous’ Album From Bethel

Recorded live at Bethel Church, Wild marks Sean Feucht’s first release as a Bethel Music artist and his 16th career release to date. Expanding on Jesus as the Wild One, this album thematically depicts how He modeled a life of radical obedience and holy boldness. Igniting mission movements around the world, Feucht’s heart is reflected in songs such as “Till the Whole Earth Looks Like Heaven,” “Heart and Hands” and “Wild One.” Feucht has forged these songs through personal experience, bringing the joy- filled gospel into uncharted regions of the world, from war-torn areas in Iraq to the underground church in China. The album echoes this sentiment in its diverse sonic landscape, ranging from joyful anthems to intimate prayers.

CHARISMA NEWS: What is your heart behind this project?

Our heart is to create a soundtrack for a movement of Wild followers of Jesus who are willing to go into any war zone, red light district, people group, nation and sphere of society to follow the Wild one. It is more of a commissioning sound than ever before. It is a clarion call to move beyond the bounds of “safe” Christianity and out into the borders and margins where God is.

What role did prophecy play in writing these songs?

So many of these songs were birthed from places of prophetic intercession and worship over the nations. One of the album songs, “Praise Is the Highway,” was actually finished in a refugee camp when we were faced with a shortage of food because the number of refugees needing aid had grown beyond our expectation. As we began to sing the song, we watched God perform a “loaves and fishes” miracle before our eyes, and every refugee left with their needs fully met.

That song carries authority because it represents a prophetic moment. There are so many other examples like this on the album!

How has missions affected your music?

It has become the why for what we sing about. The entire sound God has called me to release is missional in nature. It’s to press into His presence, discover His beauty, become consumed by His love and then compelled to share it with the world.

What do you hope the Holy Spirit will accomplish through this album?

My prayer is that it ignites a fire in the hearts of the listeners to become the heart and hands of Jesus to the world. That they can be transformed by the encounter, listening to these songs on their headphones, in their carand be completely blindsided with the power of the gospel and God’s eternal optimism to touch and change the world around them. I pray it will breathe courage and strength into every heart and break cycles of fear, depression, suicide and anxiety.

What has the Holy Spirit told you about this music?

This is my 16th album (over the course of 15 years). I’ve been pretty busy, ha! But I have never created a project just to sell for hits, charts or downloads. It has always been a word of the Lord in that specific season, and I’ve always tried to follow the Holy Spirit on who is to help me curate and shape that sound. This project is no different, and you can see the work of the Holy Spirit from the beginning to the end with production, musicians, marketing and even a documentary film from our time in Iraq that will be a part of the release process of the next few months. We absolutely depend on and need the direction of the Holy Spirit to accomplish anything!

What is it like to become a Bethel artist?

It has been amazing to join an incredible team at Bethel Music who carry the spirit of excellence and the prophetic foresight to speak, see and declare what God is doing and saying through their songs. I’ve never felt so supported and encouraged as an artist as I am right now. I feel like I am carrying something that can benefit that community of artists, musicians and creatives as well with the mission and justice piece. I brought a team of 15 of our creatives to Iraq a few months ago, and we look forward to much more partnership like that.

How does this spiritual climate affect your music?

I travel so much into so many different nations and spiritual climates (20-30 per year) that it actually doesn’t affect as much as maybe people would think. That does not mean I don’t sense or feel heaviness when I am in places like North Korea, but it just means I try and think of worshippers as thermostats and not thermometers. We actually carry the grace and power to shift the atmosphere and not succumb to it. So I really try and come with that mindset wherever the Lord sends us and whatever He calls us to sing.

Anything else you’d like to add?

There is a ton of amazing music out theremaybe more than there has ever been. So much good worship music, and I am thankful for all those creating it right now. I do feel God has released and ordained something specific on this project and album, though. It represents more than just another collection of musical songs. but carries the heart of the movement with it!

It’s time for us to move past complacent, boring and apathetic Christianity back into the wildness of chasing God and living out the true adventure of the gospel. Let’s do this!

Feucht answers more questions on his podcast with Charisma publisher Dr. Steve Greene. Listen below!
