Plane Quarantined by CDC After 25 Passengers Fall Ill Mid-Flight

Passengers aboard a United Airlines flight from Canada to Texas were “quarantined” on the runway after dozens of people fell suddenly ill during the flight.

A total of 25 passengers got sick mid-flight on Friday en route from Vancouver to Houston, exhibiting symptoms of nausea and discomfort, according to the Houston Fire Department.

Passenger James Snell told KPRC-TV that the passengers who were ill had all vacationed on the same Celebrity Cruises ship.

“About an hour and a half before we hit Houston, they ask for if you’ve been on this cruise ship, could you raise your hand,” Snell said, recounting that about 75 passengers were on the cruise where a norovirus outbreak had occurred.

“All of a sudden, the flight attendant, she put on a mask, and the guy next to me is like, ‘What do you think’s going on?'” Snell said.

“I’m like, ‘Bro, I don’t know. You know? I mean, COVID, we’re all going to die.’ You know what I mean,” he recalled.

Snell said the plane was met by fire trucks and ambulances on the runway and most passengers were held in the cabin for 45 minutes. Three passengers were removed from the plane immediately but not taken to the hospital.

He added that things began to take a strange turn when the pilot made an announcement over the intercom.

“The pilot not only made an announcement over the speaker, but he also came out to speak to us personally, saying, ‘In my 25 years of flying, I’ve never encountered anything like this. We are now under quarantine by the CDC,'” Snell recalled.

“‘No one is allowed to disembark until we are cleared by the CDC,'” he continued.

According to a statement from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, public health officials from the department’s Houston Port Health Station worked with EMS to evaluate ill passengers on board.

They found that passengers only exhibited “mild GI symptoms” and no fever.

“No passengers met CDC criteria for further public health follow-up,” the CDC wrote. “Passengers from the flight continued with their travel plans.”

Thousands Fill Stadiums as ‘Fire of Revival’ Ignites

Another wave of massive revival gatherings took place across Europe this weekend, and more than a thousand people made decisions to follow Jesus Christ, this time in Hungary and Italy.

International evangelist Jean-Luc Trachsel says “the power of the Lord” moved at two huge conferences in Hungary and Italy as people were saved, healed and delivered.

“Fire of revival is spreading everywhere in Europe to hungry and thirsty people,” he wrote on social media. “Stop to watch and dare why it’s not coming to your place. Go to your knees and cry out to the Lord of the harvest to save your region.”

Trachsel is the founder of Jean-Luc Trachsel Ministries which works to “bring unity among Christians and to proclaim the Gospel to this generation with mercy and compassion,” according to the website.

As CBN News reported, Trachsel delivered a message in Paris, France, for the “March For Jesus in France” a little less than two weeks ago where 25,000 people praised Jesus in front of the Eiffel Tower and heard an encouraging word from God.

Trachsel shared that a “fire of revival” also occurred at the “This Is the Day!” worship event at DVTK Stadium in Miskolc, Hungary. That stadium can hold more than 15,000 people, and it was filled with souls hungry for God. Trachsel reports 1,300 people gave their lives to Christ.

“Another place in Europe where God is moving in a glorious way,” he wrote.

According to their website, “This Is the Day!” is an interdenominational Christian movement organizing praise and worship events since 2000.

“It is extremely important to us to have a day each year when we gather in Jesus’ name with thanksgiving and pray for our nation’s repentance and for the church,” the organization’s mission reads. “It is our goal to be more thoroughly committed to God and thereby impacting the world around us. We want to strengthen our fellow believers so their lives would be testimonies to God’s love.”

Grammy Award-winning Christian music artist Chris Tomlin was the featured worship leader this year along with several Hungarian artists.

The packed-out arena echoed with songs of praise from thousands of people.

“And the crowning moment of the evening was a joint worship session, where we sang ‘How Great is Our God’ by Chris Tomlin with all the servants, in one voice. It was a wonderful experience and collective worship,” wrote “This Is the Day!” on social media.

Meanwhile, Trachsel shared a message on the power of the Holy Spirit at the Apostolic Conference 2024 hosted by the “Chiesa Apostolica in Italia” or the “Apostolic Church in Italy” in Rome.

The organization is an international missionary movement “born out of the Pentecostal revivals of the first half of the twentieth century,” according to the group.

“We are part of the Evangelical family. Apostolic means ‘sent’, and just as God the Father sent Jesus into the world to seek and save people far from God, we believe that Jesus sent His disciples to do the same,” the website shares. “As a church we are all called to serve Him, renewed by His Holy Spirit.”

The three-day conference brought together a network of Italian churches with 11,000 members. A massive Protestant gathering like this is seen as unusual in the seat of Roman Catholicism.

$120,000 for Elvis Presley’s Bible, Spotlight on Favorite Verse

The personal Bible of rock legend Elvis Presley has sold at auction for more than $100,000.

The remarkable item was discovered by Elvis’s cousin, Patsy Presley, and his father, Vernon Presley, when they sorted through his items after he died in 1977, Christian Today reports.

The gold-embossed covered Bible features Elvis Aaron Presley’s name and pages highlighted with the singer’s most studied Scriptures including this passage from Job 31: 24-28:

“If I have put my trust in gold or said to pure gold, ‘You are my security,’ if I have rejoiced over my great wealth, the fortune my hands had gained, if I have regarded the sun in its radiance or the moon moving in splendor, so that my heart was secretly enticed and my hand offered them a kiss of homage, then these also would be sins to be judged, for I would have been unfaithful to God on high.”

Accompanying this passage was a handwritten note from Presley’s cousin explaining how he discovered the Bible.

“Shortly after Elvis’ passing, my uncle Vernon (Elvis’ dad) and I went up into Elvis’ bedroom at Graceland to organize and pack many of his personal belongings. This Holy Bible was one of three that Elvis had on his night table. After packing them, Uncle Vernon had me take them home for safekeeping and eventually gave them to me,” Patsy wrote.

Kruse GWS Auctions sold the special Bible for $120,000 over Memorial Day weekend to a bidder whose identity remains unknown. It received 23 bids before the final gavel.

“The King of Rock and Roll” is often celebrated for his musical talents, but little has been shared about his faith.

“He was a Christian, and most people don’t know that,” Presley’s stepbrother, Billy Stanley told Faithwire. “When I say ‘Christian,’ he was a Bible-carrying Christian…wherever he went, he took the Bible with him.”

Stanley, who worked for Elvis when he was on tour, was tasked with carrying the performer’s Bible and shared that he often observed his stepbrother praying before performances and singing gospel songs afterward.

“He read the Bible almost every day,” he said.

Pentecost Conference Sees 63K Participants Glorify God

Missiologists have long considered Europe to be post-Christian, and the Netherlands is seen as a major example of that as the Dutch country has embraced atheism, legalized drugs and publicly glorified prostitution.

But roughly 60,000 Christians, a stunning number for any European country, showed up less than two weeks ago in the Netherlands to publicly praise the name of Jesus at the 54th annual Opwekking Pentecost Conference on the grounds of Walibi Holland.

“Revival means following Jesus in the power of the Holy Spirit. This is our desire: The Netherlands full of Jesus,” the organization wrote on Instagram.

According to the Netherlands Institute for Social Research, more than half of the Dutch identify as atheist or agnostic. A 2018 survey reveals that 69% of the population have never attended a church service and 29% of people considered themselves atheists.

“From the mid-1960s until today, this religious and political structure of the Netherlands has slowly dissolved and society has become more secular. Consequently, the percentage of people who proclaim to be active believers has decreased by two-thirds,” wrote Benjamin Roberts for The Holland Times.

The massive gathering of believers across Paris on May 25th reportedly broke record participation when attendees gathered together to “bear witness publicly and in unity” about their faith in Jesus Christ.

A coalition of ministries organized the event which took place in Paris and four other cities including Lille, Nantes, Metz and Strasbourg.

“We opened ourselves to the entire evangelical Protestant spectrum thanks to the participation of several churches such as MLK, Hillsong, ICC, but also Baptist, charismatic, and more traditional Protestant churches. This is my role, as coordinator, to keep unity and unite around Jesus,” Gilbert Léonian, the pastor in charge of the Paris march told the French outlet, .

According to the “March For Jesus France” website, the first such march took place in Paris in 1991 and was later organized in smaller cities.

But this year’s march in Paris broke its record with more than 25,000 participants, according to French authorities. Participation in the four other cities reached the thousands.

California Directive: Police and Fire Chaplains Told to Cease Prayers ‘In Jesus’ Name’

A California police chaplain and a fire chaplain are demanding that their local city council revoke a recent order that forbids them from concluding prayers at events “in Jesus’ name.”

First Liberty Institute, a nonprofit legal group that aims to defend religious freedoms, sent a letter to the Carlsbad City Council requesting the organization overturn a recent order by the city manager to keep police chaplain J.C. Cooper and fire chaplain Denny Cooper from praying in the name of Jesus.

J.C. Cooper is a local pastor who has served as a volunteer chaplain for the Carlsbad Police Department for six years.

His father, Denny, has served as the volunteer chaplain for the Fire Department for 18 years.

According to First Liberty, the Coopers provide support, encouragement and prayer to first responders as they face traumatic situations.

In early March, J.C. was asked to give an invocation at the Carlsbad Police Department Awards Ceremony, and he concluded the prayer “in Jesus’ name.”

About a month later, J.C. was told by Police Chief Christie Calderwood that the City Council had decided that unless he removed “in Jesus’ name” from future invocations, he would be subject to discipline.

His father, Denny, was told by Fire Chief Mike Calderwood around the same time that the city manager told him Denny could no longer perform invocations unless he also removed the phrase, “In Jesus’ name.”

J.C. sought counsel with his father and pastor and told the police chief that “removing the name of Jesus from his prayers would be a denial of his Savior Jesus Christ, a violation of his conscience and a sin.”

As a result, he declined to give the invocation at the upcoming Carlsbad Police Promotion Ceremony.

Later, the police chaplain had a meeting with the chief of police and City Manager Scott Chadwick.

According to First Liberty, Chadwick claimed that invoking the name of Jesus was considered “harassment, created a hostile work environment and lifted one religion above another.”

‘The Gates of Hell Will Not Prevail’: Hundreds Freed in Maine During ‘Kingdom to the Capitol Tour’

As the Spirit of God continues to move through massive baptisms, prayer gatherings and worship services from coast to coast, the latest revival movement saw hundreds of people set free from suicide and other forms of darkness during worship leader Sean Feucht’s “Kingdom to the Capitol Tour” in Maine this weekend.

Feucht has spent the last several years leading worship “in the hardest and darkest places, bringing the hope of Jesus where people needed it most.”

“God is moving in America. This isn’t just rhetoric, it’s reality,” Feucht once wrote. “I believe God is moving powerfully in America. Year after year, we have gathered in Washington D.C. to pray for revival for America, and in 2023, we are taking that spirit to the states through our Kingdom to the Capitol Tour!”

The latest tour stop was in Augusta, Maine, where hundreds showed up to worship Jesus and pray for America.

“God is moving across New England in the historic places where revival changed the course of America’s history,” Feucht shared on social media. “We gather again here to say: ‘You’ve done it here once before God, come and do it again.'”

Feucht is a Christian singer, songwriter, a former worship leader at Bethel Church and the founder of the Let Us Worship movement. As CBN News reported, he launched the “Kingdom to the Capitol” tour in 2023 after hosting a Let Us Worship gathering on the National Mall.

“It’s really easy for us to blame the government, curse the government, talk about how horrible things are, and complain. It’s a whole lot more difficult to take responsibility and say ‘this is our nation’,” Feucht told CBN News. “We were born here for such a time as this. We have the power to bring a change. We have the power to worship and pray until things change…I think there has to be a little bit of grit and tenacity that rises up in believers, again. And to actually believe the Word of God.”

“We have the keys to the kingdom,” he said. “The gates of hell will not prevail and whatever we bind in heaven will be bound on earth, and whatever we loose, will be loosed.”

“We need to get believers activated to take responsibility for their nation, for their state … and we all get in the game. We are going to see God do some really cool stuff,” the songwriter added.

Revival is Stirring as ‘Hundreds and Hundreds’ Get Baptized in Texas Fountain

Thousands of believers in Texas say their lives were changed this weekend after they participated in one of the biggest revivals that continues to sweep across the United States this summer.

As CBN News has reported, Weaver is leading one of the biggest revivals in the U.S. throughout the summer.

“I heard the Lord say in March ‘This will be the SUMMER OF BAPTISMS’ and this word has come to pass,” she wrote on social media. “2000 people and the power of God met us!!!”

As we reported, Weaver was given the directive to host the “Summer of Baptisms” shortly before baptizing more than 200 people on Easter Sunday on Clearwater Beach in Tampa, FL.

“Baptisms are sweeping the nation because it’s what God is currently doing,” she said last month. “…it’s the time to REJOICE because the harvest is READY!!!!”

Thousands joined the Core Group leader and her husband Stephen on the shores of Siesta Key Beach in Sarasota, FL to praise and worship Jesus Christ during the kickoff of “Summer of Baptisms” event on Mother’s Day weekend.

Weaver said what took place that day was, “Absolutely a move of God!”

Core Group members joined Weaver simultaneously on Mother’s Day weekend on beaches and rivers in California, New Jersey, Missouri, Tennessee and New Zealand.

Weaver previously told CBN News that having the baptisms on a beach on a holiday weekend was a strategic assignment from God.

“When you use those holidays to travel, you get those people who are at the lakes and beaches for the holiday. So the whole purpose is to [reach] the lost,” she shared.

Controversial WHO Pandemic Treaty Fails, but Future Plans Are in Motion

World Health Organization (WHO) leaders say they were unable to reach an agreement for a controversial pandemic-related treaty that would increase the organization’s emergency powers in case of another international health crisis.

Critics have warned the pandemic treaty would undermine U.S. sovereignty on important health decisions.

The failure to gain approval for the measure comes as WHO Director-General Tedros Ghebreyesus and 194 member states are wrapping up more than two years of negotiations on new rules for responding to pandemics during the May 27-June 1 World Health Assembly in Geneva.

So far, negotiators failed to produce a draft deal Friday for approval at this week’s convention.

“WHO Member States have ended intensive negotiations aimed at strengthening global capacities to respond to future pandemics and outbreaks in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, and agreed to submit outcomes of their work for consideration by the upcoming World Health Assembly, starting Monday,” the WHO said in a statement released Friday.

In 2021, member countries asked the WHO to oversee negotiations to determine how to best stop the spread of future viruses globally.

According to a draft treaty, the WHO would focus on closing the vaccine gap between the West and developing countries through a “Pathogen Access and Benefit-Sharing System,” where countries would give the organization samples and genetic sequences of potentially dangerous pathogens, Semafor Signals reports.

In return, the WHO would provide countries with 20% of the vaccines needed.

However, the treaty also included proposals to increase the WHO’s emergency powers and essentially give the organization full power over what other countries should do in a pandemic.

Negotiations are still ongoing for updates to existing health rules, but U.S. officials told Reuters it would be at least another one to two years of talks before a pandemic treaty is finalized.
