“The Holy Spirit FELL on this gym like we have never seen! Women were weeping as 120 of them stood up and gave their lives to Jesus. We only had one blow up baptism pool, and for an entire hour, we baptized 110 women. They kept coming and coming,” the ministry shared in a post on Instagram.

Week after week, God Behind Bars shares how the Gospel of Jesus Christ transforms prisoners across the country.

The ministry is on a mission to reach the more than 2.3 million people in the prison system.

“We have seen almost 1,000,000 salvations,” God Behind Bars CEO Jake Bodine shared in an online video recently, referring to years of ministry success. “Over 10,000 baptisms! Jesus gets the glory, it’s all about Him. Just remember, your seemingly small YES to God, can go farther than you could ever imagine. Give God your YES!”

In the latest outreach in Las Vegas, more than 150 women “filled a prison gym to hear about the name of Jesus” and left changed.

“I went through so much stuff my whole life,” one prisoner shared before she was baptized. “And now I am finally able to let go.”

“I am so amazed. This is probably the best day in prison ever,” another inmate shared.

Satanic Temple to Open New ‘Religious’ Abortion Clinic

The Satanic Temple has opened a second telehealth abortion facility to provide what it describes as “religious abortion services,” describing the killing of unborn babies as part of its “destruction ritual.”

After first opening a clinic in New Mexico, TST announced it is expanding into the commonwealth of Virginia with its second 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week location, according to a press release about the new facility.

The organization, it should be noted, is not associated with the Church of Satan, founded in the 1960s by Anton LaVey. TST is not religiously tied to Satanism, but is an activist organization seeking to advance political and societal goals.

Nevertheless, TST has sought to enshrine abortion as a religious practice and, as a result, has argued it should—in the name of religious liberty—be exempt from abortion restrictions that came in the wake of the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

The Virginia-based facility is called “Right to Your Life Satanic Abortion Clinic.” Women who obtain abortions from the new clinic will be charged a fee for the abortion-inducing drugs, but TST has stated it will assist women by aiding with some travel-related expenses.

“As abortion rights continue to be a central issue in the upcoming U.S. presidential election, we remain steadfast in our mission to expand access and protect bodily autonomy,” the group stated. “We know the urgency of this work, and we will not stop until we have made a lasting difference.”

According to a TST document shared with The Christian Post, the group describes abortion as part of a “destruction ritual that serves as a protective rite,” noting preparations for the abortion ritual include reading or listening to stories from those who advocate for abortion as a way to “subdue any stigmas” a woman might feel entering the clinic.

TST, headquartered in Salem, Massachusetts, calls the Satanic abortion ritual a “spiritual experience designed to instill confidence and self-worth in accordance to TST’s religious beliefs.”

Israelis to Celebrate Sukkot Amid War Plans

JERUSALEM, Israel – Here in Jerusalem and throughout the world, Jews are celebrating the Feast of Booths or Tabernacles, known as Sukkot in Hebrew.

They build small sukkahs or booths, following the Scriptures, to remember how God provided for and protected the Israelites during their 40-year journey in the wilderness before entering the Promised Land. Israelis are not letting the ongoing war in Gaza and northern Israel affect their celebrations.

The difference from other years is that many people who would have been home to mark the holy days are gone. Most tourists are not coming to Israel this year, and so many relatives and friends are off serving their nation on the battlefronts.

Those missed the most are the hostages in Gaza. Their absence is marked by a long table set up in Tel Aviv at Hostages Square, complete with place settings for the missing.

Tel Aviv resident Annette Crandell said, “On some level, I hope that they can feel that we all love them and we’re waiting for them to come home already. It’s just been too long. Another Sukkot, a year.”

One group that does keep showing up in the Holy Land to support Israel is especially appreciated during this time of uncertainty and turmoil: the Christians.

Nati Perry, the father of a fallen Israeli soldier, told CBN News, “When a Jewish person helps the Israeli people, it sounds and looks OK. Makes sense. But when a Christian and a Christian group, a big Christian group like you do it, it gives us a lot.”

It may be a holy week for Jews around the world, but the fight against Israel’s enemies continues.

In the last few days, Israel Defense Forces have struck hundreds of Hezbollah targets housing weapons and supplies and blown up hundreds of yards of tunnels. Reports indicate Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has chosen targets to retaliate for Iran’s massive Oct. 1, missile attack.

Ole Miss Sees 6,000+ Students United in Worshipping Jesus

Thousands of students from the University of Mississippi lifted their voices in worship and praise to Jesus and made public declarations of faith during a massive campus event, a ministry to college students reports.

The Unite US tour hit “Ole Miss” during its latest campus stop on its mission to share the gospel with students across the country.

The ministry reports nearly 6,600 students packed out the Sandy and John Black Pavilion Oct. 10, to worship, pray and to hear the gospel.

“Students from one of the top party schools showed up last night to represent Christ and get freed,” wrote Christian music artist Forrest Frank, who shared footage of the baptisms. “Can’t wait to see what God does next!!”

The University of Mississippi is one of the top “party schools” in the country, according to the website Niche, which has more than a half million reviews submitted by college and university students in the U.S.

However, students showed up on campus last week to celebrate and proclaim the name of Jesus.

Best-selling author and founder of IF:Gathering, Jennie Allen, and pastor Jonathan Pokluda of Harris Creek Baptist Church in Waco, Texas, shared a powerful message on God’s redemption, love and acceptance.

“Some of you have carried secrets and stories, addictions and sin. This is the story (Satan) wants to tell you…that you are a victim and there is no way out. And we are here to say, that is just not true,” Allen shared in her message.

“God wants you to stop cutting yourself, stop hating yourself, stop starving yourself. All that the enemy delights in, Jesus came to set you free from it,” Pokulda said to the crowd.

The night ended with hundreds of students making a public declaration for Jesus Christ and some took part in water baptisms in the back of a pickup truck.

Sukkot: Honoring God’s Command by Living Under the Stars

“On the fifteenth day of the seventh month the Lord’s Festival of Tabernacles begins, and it lasts for seven days. The first day is a sacred assembly; do no regular work. … Live in temporary shelters for seven days: All native-born Israelites are to live in such shelters so your descendants will know that I had the Israelites live in temporary shelters when I brought them out of Egypt. I am the Lord your God,” (Lev. 23:34-35, 42-43, NIV).

Sukkot, the Feast of Tabernacles, is one of the three major festivals in Judaism. It is both an agricultural festival of thanksgiving and a commemoration of the 40-year period during which the children of Israel wandered in the desert after leaving slavery in Egypt, living in temporary shelters as they traveled.

Some call this holiday a Jewish camping trip with the conveniences of home. It’s an ancient biblical command that’s still being kept today and it begins just four days after Yom Kippur. For thousands of years, Jewish people around the world have followed the biblical injunction to live in temporary dwellings during the week-long Feast of Tabernacles.

“It helps us remember,” says Israeli Seth Ben-Haim. “First of all, we’re commanded to remember the Exodus from Egypt and how we needed to wander through the desert for forty years without permanent dwellings, but it also reminds us that even though we’ve been brought into the land of Israel, we haven’t reached our final destination,” he says.

Sukkot is one of the three pilgrimage festivals, when Jewish people were commanded to go up to the Holy Temple in Jerusalem to worship.

For seven days, families eat, sleep, study, and pray in the sukkah or “booth.” Rabbis say it must have at least three sides and the roof must be made in such a way that the stars are visible through it at night and it’s open to the elements. Most people use either palm fronds or a straw mat for the roof. And many are decorated at least in part by the children.

“Otherwise, we’d be in the protection of our homes and the purpose of living temporarily in this flimsy tabernacle is so that we can remember that ultimately we’re under HaShem’s [God’s] protection,” says Ben-Haim.

Another part of the Sukkot celebration is recorded in Leviticus 23:40 (NLT), where the Bible commands the Israelites to take four species of fruit from beautiful trees—a citron or Etrog, a palm branch, a bough of leafy trees (myrtle), and a willow branch and “celebrate with joy before the Lord your God for seven days.”

Faith Redeemed a Village Plagued by Opium Addiction

Driving along the paved zigzag roads of the Sin Suoi Ho village it’s hard to imagine that the picturesque landscape of rice terraces and manicured vegetable plots were once opium fields.

Pastor Hang A Xa describes it as a bleak period for the Hmong village as almost all were drug addicts.

“We were selling opium like selling chickens. Everyone was addicted so no one worked in the fields. We did not have food, just leaves from the jungle. People were fighting. It was a very messy time,” Pastor Xa said.

That included Pastor Xa’s father, Hang A Lung, an opium addict who was still elected as village chairman. Because he was a leader, the government provided him with a radio to listen to and stay informed about its policies.

Lung, however, did not understand Vietnamese. He only knew the Hmong language and the only radio program he could understand came from a broadcast ministry to the Hmong people. Instead of communist ideology, Lung listened to the Word of God each day.

Pastor Xa said, “My father heard the gospel and became the first believer. He wanted our whole family to receive Jesus. He summoned my brother who was studying in another town to come home right away. He said, ‘You need to receive Jesus. If He comes, we all go to heaven and you go to hell.'”

Su admires her grandfather for being firm in his faith at a time when Vietnam banned Christianity. She told CBN News, “Police arrested and beat my grandfather several times. And when they threatened to kill him, he asked them. ‘Why take a long time for you to kill me?’ He wants to meet Jesus. After a few days, they tell him go back home, we don’t have food to feed you.'”

Lung obtained a Bible that had been passed from one household to another. From reading Scripture, Lung and other villagers felt convicted to quit drugs and live a life pleasing to God.

Instead of opium, they planted orchids which became a source of income. Though most could not read or write, God gave the villagers wisdom to begin running various businesses.

Ten years later, Sin Suoi Ho village was recognized by the government as a top tourist destination and in 2023 ASEAN recognized it as a top tourist attraction in Southeast Asia.

The Sin Suoi Ho village is now known for its beauty, tranquility and testimonies of transformed lives.

On Saturday mornings, the villagers flock to the market to sell their produce. Here, Pastor Xa is shining the shoes of the people for free. “This is my way of serving the people and also an opportunity to share Jesus to them,” he said.

Actor Shares How the Holy Spirit Guided Him Out of Hollywood

Cameron Arnett’s career in Hollywood is a play with two acts.

“This acting thing chose me twice, at two different points in time,” the celebrity told CBN News.

When he first went to Tinseltown, the now-63-year-old star was not a Christian. In fact, he wasn’t really even interested in acting; as a pre-med and pre-law student planning to pursue a career as a cardiologist, work in Hollywood was, as he called it, an “accident.”

Arnett was quickly caught up in the “trappings” Hollywood offered him, though. Chasing dollar signs and stardom, the fledgling actor was taking on episodic roles on shows like “Star Trek: The Next Generation” and “Miami Vice” and starring in made-for-TV movies.

Along the way, though, the actor underwent a spiritual awakening.

He had just finished filming a movie in Toronto and was back home in Los Angeles, ready to sign a contract for a new project as a character in a TV series—but something had changed within Arnett.

“I was about to sign on the dotted line and they said, ‘Oh, by the way, we want Cameron to do partial-body nudity,’ and, by that point in time, I was a Christian,” Arnett recalled. “I said, ‘I can’t do that. It violates my convictions, violates my God, my beliefs.’”

The studio offered Arnett an alternative: they would bring in a body double for the nude scenes. That solution—the actor thought—would assuage his convictions.

But it didn’t. It only served to strengthen his reservations, and it cost him significantly.

“I’m about to sign again and I feel the Holy Spirit really tap me on my shoulder and say, ‘You have to shun even the appearance of evil, because people will think that it’s you,’” Arnett said, referring to 1 Thessalonians 5:22-24. “So I dropped everything and, when I dropped everything, everybody dropped me, as well. I lost everything, lost everybody, agency and everything else and ended up, really, abandoned in California, not knowing what else I was going to do next.”

“But God had His plan and all of that was allowing … all of the life that I had put together to unravel so that God could give me exactly what He wanted,” he continued. “That’s where I find myself now, having left Hollywood behind, having made all the choices that were anti-Hollywood and really getting back into a place where Christ was the center and, in that center, I found myself once again.”

Churches Lead Relief Efforts as Remote Areas Struggle Post-Helene

Communities across the Southeast are working to recover from the devastation left by Hurricane Helene. Churches and faith-based organizations are stepping in to meet critical needs beyond food and water, offering hope and restoration to those affected.

In the small mountain town of Swannanoa, North Carolina, volunteers from across the country have gathered to assist with recovery efforts. One of the hardest-hit areas, Swannanoa’s residents are relying on their faith as they salvage what remains of their homes and livelihoods.

“That river is usually a nice little river, beautiful. It turned into a massive 27-30 feet above flood stage – places where nobody had ever seen it,” said Jeff Dowdy, Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of Swannanoa.

Breaking News. Spirit-Filled Stories. Subscribe to Charisma on YouTube now!

Dowdy’s church was spared significant damage, allowing it to serve as a beacon of hope for the community. The church has become a distribution site, receiving so many supplies that they’re now sending them to those with fewer resources. Still, the destruction around Swannanoa is staggering. Utility poles have snapped in half, roads and railroads are washed out, and concrete slabs are all that remain of some homes.

“We were able to make it through as a church, so we feel that God has spared us so that we can be a beacon of hope in this community,” Dowdy added.

Further north in Asheville, the Asheville Dream Center has set up operations outside Revel Church, organizing semi-truck loads of donated goods. They’re distributing water, food, and other supplies throughout the region. Founder Michelle Coleman says the outpouring of donations has been overwhelming.

“We’ve been trying to keep track, but the need is so great, we’re just sending it out,” Coleman said.

Coleman noted that while there have been reports of government aid, they have yet to see it in the area. However, the church and its volunteers have refused to wait, creating a grassroots network of support.

In Tampa, a mother and son used their fishing boat to help stranded people. She can be heard saying, “These people all need help. Nobody has been here today, and they have animals.”

In Gulf Coast communities from Naples to Venice, some have found their homes buried under as much as three feet of sand.

Meanwhile, 38 reported tornadoes damaged hundreds of homes.

On the other side of Florida, in Palm Beach Gardens, a dumpster was picked up by a tornado and thrown onto a house.

Rick Warren Reports ‘Intentional’ Brushfire Reaches Saddleback Church

Pastor and author Rick Warren asked for prayers Sunday evening as an “intentional” brushfire spread toward Saddleback Church’s main campus in Lake Forest, California.

“Please pray,” wrote Warren, who retired from the pastorate in 2022. “[Two] acres of Saddleback Church have already been consumed by wildfire as of this moment. It’s our main campus (out of 20) in Lake Forest. A few weeks ago, we had a week of wildfires in our backyard, now this. So far, no buildings have been in danger. The Lake Forest campus is 120 acres — about half is our parking lots.”

It appears the fire began around 1 p.m. local time somewhere near the Portola and Rancho Parkways and quickly spread to nearby areas. Thankfully, the Orange County Fire Authority acted quickly to contain the fire within about 45 minutes, according to video from SoCal PD Media.

It’s important to note the scope of the fire is not exactly clear. While Warren said the fire “consumed” two acres of Saddleback’s property, the OCFA described the two-acre blaze as “near” the church. CBN News reached out to Warren for a statement.
