David Jeremiah: Voters Must Address Religious Freedom Under Fire

Renowned preacher David Jeremiah warns there’s a moral crisis in America right now, saying the election is a pivotal moment for the country, and believers “carry a dual responsibility to the state and to God,” and we must fulfill both mandates as Christians.

“The soul of America is at stake because the values and principles that secured this country’s greatness are being threatened,” he said. “America faces a critical situation today. Our secular society has mounted the most aggressive attack on moral values in America’s history.”

The senior pastor of Shadow Mountain Community Church in California, shared a corporate “Prayer for America,” last week in which he noted that the next election will have considerable consequences on the future.

“In this election, we face many such issues, critical moral decisions that will shape the days ahead. As Christians, we carry a dual responsibility to the state and to God, and we cannot afford to neglect either one,” he said.

Jeremiah says there’s only one thing that can heal America—”a revival of biblical proportions and a return to the moral and spiritual principles of Scripture in which our greatness is rooted”—and prayer is key.

“If you and I stand up, but don’t kneel, we have ignored the greatest resource God has given us to win the battle before us,” the pastor and author explained. “We as Christians stand the tallest when we are on our knees in prayer.”

Jeremiah encouraged all believers to not only pray but vote.

“Voting our faith is a responsibility for all of us,” he said adding to the message that believers need to “be a light.”

“The best way to influence the culture around us is to demonstrate the love of Jesus and His transforming power in everything we do and say. We are called to take the light to the darkness. So let us not hide our light under a bushel or restrain the joy of our salvation. May we reflect the words of our savior in our interactions with those around us being a living testimony of our faith.”

Ancient Babylonian Map Points to Noah’s Ark Location

Scientists have finally deciphered an ancient Babylonian artifact and say its inscription points to the location of Noah’s Ark.

It has taken years to uncover the meaning of a 3,000-year-old clay tablet known as the Imago Mundi.

“This is the oldest map of the world, in the world,” said Dr. Irving Finkel, a British Museum curator and cuneiform expert.

Breaking News. Spirit-Filled Stories. Subscribe to Charisma on YouTube now!

The artifact has a script with wedge-shaped symbols called cuneiform and archeologists have been stumped for years as to its meaning.

But after months of intensive study, scientists now believe the carvings make clear references to the Bible.

“It has two sides, this is the front or ‘obverse’ and this is the back or the ‘reverse’ and the reverse consists of lots of lines of cuneiform in different ruled sections,” explained Finkel. “So it’s full of information, even though it’s a bit damaged.”

Finkel notes that the map shows ancient Mesopotamia, which is modern-day Iraq, surrounded by the “Bitter River.” The river represented by a double ring indicates the border of the Babylonians’ known world.

“This is a very important ring of water because it meant for the Babylonians, they had a sort of idea of the limits of their world where they lived in about the 6th century BC,” he said.

The map also contained a secret key to show travelers the route on the water they should take and what to look out for while on the way.

Finkel shares that one of the passages instructs travelers to go through “seven leagues to see something that is thick as a parsiktu-vessel.”

The term “parsiktu” is used to reference the size of a vessel needed to survive a great flood.

Then, Finkel notes, the artifact refers to “Urartu” and specific instructions on how to get there.

“To the fourth, to which you must travel seven leagues,” it reads.

Researchers believe that “Urartu”, which is also known as Ararat, is linked to an ancient Mesopotamian poem about a man and his family who landed an ark following a 150-day flood.

Christian School Banned Following Team’s Forfeit Against Trans Athlete

A Vermont Christian girls basketball team is continuing to face major consequences after athletes refused to play against a team that had a biological male athlete who identifies as transgender.

As CBN News reported, Mid Vermont Christian School, a K-12 institution in Quechee, Vermont, has been permanently banned from the Vermont Principals’ Association, the body overseeing athletics in the state, because the school operates its athletic program consistent with its religious beliefs about sexuality and gender.

Last year, the Mid Vermont Christian School girls’ basketball team declined to play against a team that included a biologically male player.

“The Mid Vermont Christian Girls Basketball team qualified for their state-sponsored sports league playoff tournament,” Ryan Tucker, an attorney at Alliance Defending Freedom representing the school, told CBN News. “And when they were looking at the seedings, they knew that the team that they were paired up against had a biological male who was professing to be female.”

School officials reportedly contacted the VPA in advance to express safety and religious concerns about competing against a biological male, but they were not given another option to play a different competitor, so they were forced to forfeit the game.

“And, as a result, the state punished them by kicking them, not just obviously out of that tournament, but out of the sports association entirely,” Tucker said. “And so their girl sports season ended and they’ve been kicked out of that league.”

The VPA also “blacklisted” the school from all state-sponsored events in the state including co-ed academic competitions like the Geo-Bee, Science and Math Fair and Debate and Forensics League.

VPA officials argued that the school violated its policies regarding gender, race, and disability awareness and said it would refuse to let the school back into the league unless it updated its policies.

The ADF filed a federal lawsuit asking the league to reinstate the school into the league. U.S. District Court Judge Geoffrey Crawford denied them readmittance.

In September, the school, students and parents filed a lawsuit with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit citing that VPA’s actions violated the students’ First Amendment rights.

The lawsuit points out that while Mid Vermont has been penalized for their stance, three schools within the VPA have been allowed to forfeit games to avoid competing against a player who had a mask exemption, without consequences.

“The VPA cannot wield such unbridled discretion, accept when schools forfeit games for secular reasons, and then expel Mid Vermont for forfeiting a game based on its religious beliefs. Nor can the VPA exclude ‘an otherwise eligible religious school from a public benefit solely because of its religious exercise,'” the opening brief states.

Iran Plans to Launch New Strike Against Israel Imminently

Iran is reportedly preparing for an attack on Israel within days. The indication is that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has directed his country’s top military leadership to implement the attack.

Reports in both The New York Times and Axios suggest Khamenei authorized the attack after reviewing the damage from last week’s strike on Iranian missile production facilities.

Tehran’s top general, Iran Revolutionary Guard Corps Commander-in-Chief Hossein Salami, pledged the regime will hit Israelis with what he called “an unimaginable response.”

“You can’t live in a sea of fire. You are small; you don’t even have somewhere to escape,” Salami declared.

For all of Iran’s bluster, Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, believes the Iranians realize how vulnerable they are and fear a full-on fight with the Israel Defense Forces.

“My sense is that at least on their side, that they realize the risks of escalation and would prefer to avoid it,” he said.

Axios reports that Israeli intelligence suggests the attack could be launched by pro-Iran militias in Iraq, and not from Iran itself, possibly to avoid another Israeli strike on Iran.

The reports follow Israel’s second attack on Iran last week. At the time, Israel destroyed much of Iran’s ballistic missile production and its air defense systems. One U.S. official said the damage to Iran’s air defense was so extensive, that it left Iran basically “blind.”

Israel did not hit either the Islamic regime’s oil facilities or its nuclear sites in that attack. However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced at an IDF officers’ graduation ceremony that the nuclear sites are Israel’s chief concern.

‘Millions of Souls Forever Changed’: Sean Feucht’s ‘Kingdom to Capitol’ Tour Descends on National Mall

Songs of worship and praise rang out on the streets of Washington D.C. last weekend as thousands of Christians gathered on the National Mall to take part in the “One Nation Under God Revival” event hosted by worship leader Sean Feucht.

“Thousands of believers descended on Washington, D.C. with a hunger for revival and a boldness to proclaim the Gospel!!  One thing is clear, America’s only hope for a prosperous future is a spiritual revival, and the groundwork is being laid for a massive move of God,” reads the website.

Believers marched from the Lincoln Memorial to the White House declaring the Word of God and praying for the upcoming general election and America.

“THERE IS HOPE for America,” Feucht wrote on X. “This is the sound, the signs, and the truth that flooded DC this weekend. It is only found in ONE NAME.

Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) shared during the event that “The time to SAVE AMERICA is now.

The gathering was a culmination of Feucht’s “Kingdom to the Capitol” tour where the Christian artist declared God’s Kingdom at every state capitol in the country.

From state to state, Feucht has preached while leading worship “in the hardest and darkest places, bringing the hope of Jesus where people needed it most.”

Hundreds of people have been saved, delivered, healed, and set free.

As CBN News reported, more than 100 people received freedom from suicide and depression during the “Kingdom to the Capitol Tour” in Maine earlier this year.

South Carolina City Requires Permit to Display ‘Jesus’ Sign in Public

A South Carolina man is challenging his city officials after being told he needed a permit to hold a sign that said “Trust Christ” and share his faith while on a public sidewalk.

First Liberty Institute, a non-profit legal group, sent a letter to the Town of Chapin, South Carolina on behalf of Ernest Giardino calling their requirement for a permit a violation of a local resident’s First Amendment rights.

“Permit schemes, like the one found in Chapin, have the effect of freezing speech before it is uttered,” reads the letter. “Permit schemes are thus viewed skeptically, being ‘the most serious and least tolerable infringement on First Amendment rights.'”

Early this summer, Giardino was on a public sidewalk at an intersection holding a 20×24 inch sign attached to a short handle, which read “Trust Christ He paid the price” on one side and “He Saved Others—Jesus—He’ll Save You” on the other side.

According to First Liberty, Giardino had marched around town with similar signs for about eight months.

But on June 20, he was stopped by a Chapin police officer who told him he needed the city’s permission to share his message with a sign.

The next day, the city officials confirmed Giardino would have to apply for a permit to continue sharing his faith.

The permits would limit Giardino to holding his sign for only 30 minutes and he was advised that he would need to change sidewalk corners every 15 minutes while holding a sign, according to the law group.

“A demonstration permit really should not apply to someone holding up a sign saying ‘Trust Christ, he paid the price,'” First Liberty Senior Counsel Nate Kellum told The Post and Courier.

City spokesperson, Nicholle Burroughs, said permits have been required since 1980, although an amendment was made in 2021 to streamline the process for getting approval.

Middle Eastern Power Dynamics Shift Following Israel’s Strike on Iran

Two days after Israel’s historic strike on Iran, the Middle East is still processing its impact. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the attack on Iran was precise, powerful and achieved all of its goals.

“We severely damaged Iran’s defense capacity and the ability to produce missiles aimed at us,” he said.

Three waves of attacks, involving more than 100 warplanes, struck targets over 1,000 miles from Israel. However, the IDF Chief of Staff noted that Israel used only a fraction of its capabilities.

Satellite images reveal extensive damage to key Iranian military installations, potentially delaying Iran’s ballistic missile production for years. Israel also dismantled air defenses in Iraq, Syria and Iran, including advanced S-300 and S-400 systems.

Former U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman sees this as a powerful message to Iran. “Most importantly, it’s sending the message to Iran. Anytime, we want. We gotcha,” Friedman told CBN News. “And we didn’t do it this time but keep it up, keep up this nuclear program and you’ll see us in the near future.”

Saudi Arabia condemned the attack but did not directly mention Israel.

“The Arab world is condemning publicly, the GCC, the Arab League condemning the attack publicly. But the secret of the Middle East is don’t listen to what people say, watch what they do,” said Dan Diker, Executive Director of the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs (JCPA).

Diker states that Israel is emerging as the “strong horse” in the Middle East.

“The Arab world knows that what Israel just did to the Iranian regime, and what it did to Hamas, and to Hezbollah by killing off their leadership and decimating their command structure is to actually kill the arch enemy of the very Arab nations that were condemning Israel,” Diker told CBN News.

Iran responded with a mix of bluster and restraint. The commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps threatened, “The consequences of the attack in Iran will be unimaginable for the state of Israel.”

Iran’s president, Masoud Pezeshkian, however, offered a measured response. “Iran is not looking for war but is obliged to respond appropriately to the Israeli attack,” Pezeshkian said.

Megachurch Writes 11,000 Prayer Letters to the Next US President

As Election Day draws near, Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, IL is on a mission to encourage the next President of the United States.

It’s all part of a teaching series called “Prayers for the Next President,” and includes a letter-writing campaign with congregants writing prayers in the form of letters to whoever is elected president on Nov. 5.

Author and Teaching Pastor Megan Fate Marshman is heading up the series.

“I remember when the idea was pitched,” Marshman told CBN News. “We found ourselves thinking about what God’s Word leads us to do, which I’ll tell you where this came from, 1 Timothy chapter 2: ‘I urge you then first of all that petitions, prayers, intercession, thanksgiving be made for all’ – here it is – ‘all people.’ Not just those you agree with.”

She added, “‘For kings’ – and it gets specific – ‘and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful’ – that’s the external –  ‘and quiet’ – that’s the internal – ‘lives in all godliness and holiness.’ And so, we thought if our goal is to reach the world, and our government does that, then that should be one of the foremost places that we pray.”

“The powerfulness of prayer is not just useful for us to want to see God move. I think it’s also useful for what God does when we consider someone, in God’s presence. Because obviously God loves that person,” said Marshman.

Voters Relying on Prayer as 2024 Election Looms

Fifty-eight percent of Americans say religion is important in determining who they will support for president, according to a Religion News Service poll. Even more of them revealed that faith helps them deal with the stress and uncertainty surrounding the election.

From 250,000 women praying on the National Mall in D.C. to petitions posted online, prayer is rising in priority ahead of what’s seen as one of our history’s most divisive political seasons.

“The most important part that we need to pray for right now for the election is that those that are up for election will fear God,” Dr. Corne Bekker, dean of Regent University’s School of Theology, told CBN News.

Breaking News. Spirit-Filled Stories. Subscribe to Charisma on YouTube now!

Bekker said while Scripture commands Christians to pray, he said doing so in alignment with God’s will is key.

“We need to pray for God’s will to be done,” said Bekker. “Jesus said it the best in the prayer that he taught us, may his kingdom come, may his will be done in our land as it is in heaven.”

It is a sentiment that is supported by Walter Kim of the National Association of Evangelicals who also urges believers to pray for opportunities to be a good witness for Christ.

“The politics will come and go,” said Kim. “Elected officials will come and go, but our commitments as Christ followers means that there’s a commitment to the good news of Jesus Christ and bearing witness to it that should endure past any election. And my deep concern is for the name of Jesus and the ways that Christians engage would be honoring to that name.”

Kim points to the biblical example found in James chapter one as a way forward. “James’ admonition here I think is so incredibly important. What is the posture that we’re taking? Are we quick to listen? Are we slow to speak? Are we slow to become angry? Because the righteousness of God that ultimately, we say we’re after really requires a different type of posture.”

News of at least two failed assassination attempts on former President Donald Trump has led voters across the country to worry about more violence.

A recent Quinnipiac University poll found that 73% of likely voters expressed concern about politically motivated violence following the election. Only 27% had little to no concern.

“One of the most dangerous things in the country right now is how volatile and divisive the language is, not only from politicians, but from ordinary citizens,” said Bekker. “And I think we as Christians should really pray. Jesus said the following, that a house divided against itself cannot stand. We need to pray for peaceful words, words that unite, words that bring healing, and indeed pray for God to unite this country again.”

How Christians Are Bringing Hope and Support to a Warzone

Even though Israel faces war on seven fronts, Christians are coming to Jerusalem in a show of unity during the biblical Feast of Tabernacles, known in Israel as Sukkot.

Battling a fear of war and travel difficulty, given airline cancellations, Christians still came to Israel to participate in the special celebration.

They toured southern Israeli communities ravaged during the Oct. 7, 2023, attack, heard from an Israel Defense Forces soldier, and on the fifth night of the feast, President Isaac Herzog welcomed them at Jerusalem’s Tower of David Museum.

Herzog told the crowd, “In this time of so much grief, your gathering here says clearly and loudly: there is an answer to hatred, there is an answer to brutality, there is an answer to evil. Like so many Christian communities throughout the world, you have stood with the Jewish people in our hour of darkness.”

Despite the war, more than 500 Christians from some 50 nations came to stand with the Jewish people and say, “You are not alone.”

International Christian Embassy-Jerusalem Senior Spokesman David Parsons told CBN News, “It’s the largest solidarity mission to Israel since the war began on October 7, last year–and it’s a Christian solidarity mission.”

Parsons believes the message is clear.

“We want to tell the people of Israel that all these charges of genocide against them, all the accusations and people trying to shame them, or anyone who supports them, we’re going to stand here beside them, knowing they are fighting a just war in a moral way,” Parsons stated.

The ICEJ has held the annual celebrations since 1980, with thousands attending each year. Parsons, though, sees this year’s gathering as unique.

“This is a Gideon’s army. When the Lord told Gideon, (to) send the people home, he said if they’re afraid, go home. So, we have a high caliber of people of faith who have come here to make this statement of support for Israel,” Parsons declared.
