There is much talk now of Israel annexing the West Bank (biblical Judea and Samaria) or at least vast swaths of it, to protect the Jewish communities inhabiting the land.

Eytan Gilboa, professor of American-Israel relations at Tel Aviv’s Bar-Ilan University, noted, “What happened in Gaza really destroyed the chances for the establishment of a Palestinian state, as well as peace.”

Currently, Jewish cities and towns are so mingled with Arab population centers, and it’s difficult to see how they could be cleanly divided into two nations.

“I think it’s impossible to speak about a two-state solution because it will never happen. You cannot draw a line that can divide and separate the population,” said Israel Ganz, head of Samaria’s Binyamin Regional Council.

Regardless of Donald Trump’s views on Judea and Samaria, his choices for foreign policy positions come with strong pro-Israel backgrounds, including Marco Rubio as secretary of state, Elise Stefanik for U.N. ambassador, and a choice many are praising – former Arkansas governor and presidential candidate Mike Huckabee for U.S. ambassador to Israel.

“I look forward to going to work for my country, my president, and for the people of America and to be an able representative to my friends in the Jewish state of Israel,” Huckabee told CBN’s Gordon Robertson on The 700 Club on Monday.

Huckabee, who first came to Israel more than 40 years ago, says he is passionate about his calling. He believes the U.S. president should not decide weighty matters such as annexing Judea and Samaria. That should be Israel’s call alone.

Huckabee has said he doesn’t consider a two-state solution to be practical and he has called Judea and Samaria the “Promised Land.”

A Massachusetts 8th grader is urging the U.S. Supreme Court to protect his First Amendment right to free speech after he was allegedly forced to leave school for wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with the words, “There are only two genders.”

Alliance Defending Freedom, a non-profit legal group, represents 13-year-old Liam Morrison.

The ADF–along with multiple education experts, free speech advocates, and 18 states–has filed a petition with the Supreme Court asking it to take Liam’s case.

As CBN News reported, the ADF argued before the 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel earlier this year claiming school officials at Nichols Middle School in Middleborough violated the U.S. Constitution’s First Amendment by censoring Morrison when he expressed his viewpoint last year on a t-shirt.

In March 2023, Morrison wore that shirt to school. The principal, along with a school counselor, pulled Morrison out of class and ordered him to remove his shirt.

After Morrison politely declined, school officials said he had to remove his shirt or he could not return to class.

As a result, Morrison left school and missed the rest of his classes that day.

Then, on May 5, he was asked again to change his t-shirt when he wore another one adorned with the message, “There are censored genders.”

“I have been told that my shirt was targeting a protected class,” he said. “Who is this protected class? Are their feelings more important than my rights? I don’t complain when I see Pride flags and diversity posters hung throughout the school. Do you know why? Because others have a right to their beliefs just as I do. Even I, at 12 years old, have my own political opinions and I have a right to express those opinions.”

“Even at school,” Morrison continued. “This right is called the First Amendment to the Constitution.”

Morrison and his family filed a lawsuit against the school claiming it engaged in unconstitutional behavior when it barred the then-seventh grader’s free speech while advocating for gender ideology.

However, the 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals backed the school’s decision to force him to remove his shirt or leave the school.

Now attorneys with the ADF are seeking the U.S. Supreme Court’s intervention.

From a Jewish man being shot in Chicago to calls for “Jew Hunts,” renewed anti-Semitic violence is sending shockwaves across communities worldwide.

“It has felt like it’s open season on Jews, certainly since October 7th,” said Ellie Cohanim, Senior Fellow at the Independent Women’s Forum. “The massacre in Israel seems to have ignited a terrible bloodlust against Jews around the world.”

Amsterdam erupted with violent, organized mobs targeting Israeli soccer fans after a heated match between Ajax and Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Tensions were already high due to recent regional conflicts, and the game became a flashpoint, drawing protesters outside the stadium. Demonstrators clashed with fans in a series of confrontations that escalated into violence and property damage in several parts of the city.

In response to the unrest, Israeli authorities quickly coordinated with Dutch officials to ensure the safety of their citizens, sending evacuation planes to bring fans and Israeli nationals back home.

While no serious injuries were reported, several arrests were made as authorities worked to restore order and protect public safety.

In Chicago, a Jewish man was shot while walking to a synagogue in broad daylight. He survived, and it’s being investigated as a hate crime. Meanwhile, protesters waving Nazi flags in Howell, Michigan, gathered outside the American Legion post hosting a performance of The Diary of Anne Frank. Cohanim, a former State Department Envoy, states that Iran is the leading state sponsor of antisemitism.

“There is a strain of radical Islam, also around the world we’ve seen from Europe to the United States, that is all too willing to embrace this radical, Jew-hating philosophy,” Cohanim said. “Reports from our own U.S. intelligence agencies indicate that the Islamic Republic of Iran has been funding pro-Hamas activities we’ve seen on our college campuses and in our city streets. Iran is the leading state sponsor of antisemitism globally.”

When Robert F. Kennedy Jr. dropped out of the 2024 presidential race in August, he immediately went to a Trump rally, and before an amazed and enthusiastic throng of MAGA supporters, endorsed the former president. Today, Kennedy was rewarded as Trump chose him to oversee the powerful Department of Health and Human Services.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote, “I am thrilled to announce Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as The United States Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS). For too long, Americans have been crushed by the industrial food complex and drug companies who have engaged in deception, misinformation and disinformation when it comes to Public Health.”

The president-elect added, “The Safety and Health of all Americans is the most important role of any Administration, and HHS will play a big role in helping ensure that everybody will be protected from harmful chemicals, pollutants, pesticides, pharmaceutical products and food additives that have contributed to the overwhelming Health Crisis in this Country.”

Kennedy’s slogan during the campaign was “Make America Healthy Again,” a spinoff from the MAGA acronym. The son of Robert Kennedy and the nephew of President John F. Kennedy, RFK Jr. built a career as an environmental attorney, suing chemical corporations and large pharmaceutical companies.

Kennedy became one of the foremost figures in 2020 who were sounding the alarm against the dangers of COVID vaccines and what many saw as a media coverup of vaccine injuries.

At a town hall event last month, Kennedy stated, “I think most people don’t know what my stance is on vaccines. I’ve never been anti-vaccine. And I’ve said that hundreds and hundreds of times, but it doesn’t matter, because that is a way of silencing me.”

President-elect Donald Trump has nominated former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee as the U.S. Ambassador to Israel.

In a statement, Trump wrote of the faith leader and former presidential candidate, “He loves Israel and the people of Israel, and likewise, the people of Israel love him. Mike will work tirelessly to bring about peace in the Middle East.”

In a recent interview, Huckabee told CBN News’ Wendy Griffith the importance of standing with Israel.

“And in Genesis 12, ‘If you bless Israel, you’ll be blessed. If you curse Israel, you’ll be cursed.’ That’s pretty clear,” he stated.

He brings a solid faith to the position.

“I know where I stand,” Huckabee said. “And the reason I know is because I stand on the Word of God. And I stand on the principles that God is real – and that the Word and His direction is more important than anything else in my life.”

The former U.S. Ambassador, David Friedman, posted on X to say, “Congrats Mike on getting the best job in the world.”

Evangelical leader Joel Rosenberg wrote, “Huckabee’s appointment sends a powerful message about Trump’s intention to stand solidly and unwaveringly with Israel – and to reject the failed Mideast policies of Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden, of which Huckabee has been a sharp critic.”

Yigal Carmon, MEMRI (the Middle East Media and Research Institute) told CBN News Huckabee is a perfect choice.

“Governor Huckabee is an expert on Israel and the region in general, but he’s also, more importantly, a believer and a leader in faith,” Carmon said.

Carmon believes Huckabee’s faith helps him understand the wave of violent attacks in the Middle East led by Shi’ite Iran.

“It takes, A, an expert and a leader in faith to first understand the scope of the attack and the conflict in the region, and B, a leader in faith to implement the vision of President Trump of, no war, but peace with mainstream Sunni Islam,” Carmon declared.

President-elect Donald Trump’s camp is floating a new batch of names as he is expected to announce more key nominations for his administration. 

Ambassador to Israel

At the top of the list is former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee. Trump announced on Tuesday afternoon he’s nominating Huckabee as the ambassador to Israel.

Huckabee is a staunch defender of Israel and has led tour group visits to the country for many years. 

“Mike has been a great public servant, Governor, and Leader in Faith for many years. He loves Israel, and the people of Israel, and likewise, the people of Israel love him. Mike will work tirelessly to bring about Peace in the Middle East,” Trump said in a statement. 

Huckabee is a former Baptist minister and Fox News host. He currently hosts the “Huckabee” show for the Trinity Broadcasting Network. The hour-long program is “a down-home slice of wholesome Americana in all of its patriotic, God-honoring, and family-friendly glory,” according to a website description.

His daughter, Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, served as White House press secretary during Trump’s first presidency.

David Friedman, who served as Trump’s ambassador to Israel during his first term, said he was “thrilled” by Trump’s selection of Huckabee.

Sources close to Trump told the New York Times Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) could be picked as his Secretary of State. 

Rubio has a hard-line position on foreign policy, often butting heads with Republicans “about interventions abroad.”

The Florida senator could play a major role in Trump’s “America First” idea due to his strong stance on China, Iran, Venezuela and Cuba.

Rubio sides with Trump about bringing a “conclusion” to Russia’s war with Ukraine and has been outspoken “on the need for the United States to be more aggressive on China,” the NYT reports. 

After Trump won the election last Tuesday, Rubio said the U.S. would see “pragmatic foreign policy” from the White House. 

“We’re entering into an era of pragmatic foreign policy in which the world is rapidly changing,” Rubio said in an interview with CNN. “Adversaries are uniting—North Korea, Iran, China, Russia [are]  increasingly coordinating—it’s going to require us to be very pragmatic and wise and how we invest overseas and what we do.”

If confirmed, Rubio, the son of Cuban immigrants, would become the first Latino to ever serve as the nation’s top diplomat.

The final tally of the presidential election is in with Nevada and Arizona being called for Donald Trump over the weekend, giving him victories in all seven battleground states.

His total victory of 312 votes in the Electoral College is more than he won in 2016.

Democrats are fighting over who’s to blame for their decisive defeat. Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi told the New York Times that if President Biden had relinquished his candidacy sooner, more candidates might have jumped in to create an open primary.

Others, like California Rep. Ro Khanna, say the Harris team failed to address the concerns of everyday Americans.

“Anyone who’s saying now this was not a winnable campaign, didn’t say that back in August,” he said. “The reason we didn’t win ultimately, is that we didn’t listen enough to people on the ground… people who were saying talk about the economy, talk about people’s economic struggles. Convince people you have the better policies and better vision.”

Meanwhile, President-elect Trump is working on his transition, announcing Sunday that Tom Homan will serve as “border czar.”

Trump posted on social media that Homan will be “in charge of our Nation’s Borders (‘The Border Czar’), including, but not limited to, the Southern Border, the Northern Border, all Maritime and Aviation Security” and oversee a plan to deport immigrants who entered the U.S. illegally.
 
Homan served as acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Trump’s first term.

On Monday, Trump also named his longtime adviser Stephen Miller, another immigration hard-liner, to be his deputy chief of policy.

Filmmaker Dallas Jenkins is known for bringing the pages of scripture to the screen in the popular hit series “The Chosen.” Now he’s bringing another book to the big screen from the beloved 1971 children’s novel called “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.”

In the film, six siblings get into all types of trouble including hijacking the town’s Christmas Pageant. They soon end up in leading roles. Jenkins reminisced with CBN News about the journey to seeing this book become a big-screen adventure.

“About 20 years ago, my wife brought the book home and I had read it as a kid in my public school. I remember I’d seen a TV movie in the early 80s, but I didn’t remember a whole lot about it. I was reading it to my kids and I’m laughing and I’m noticing all these wonderful little moments and I’m like, boy, this is so good. By the end, I’m crying so hard I can’t read. And my wife grabbed the book. She’s like, all right, let me do it. And so, she starts reading to the kids and she starts crying. She can’t get through it. So, I take the book back and we would just exchange the book while the other one recovered,” he told CBN News. 

“That became our Christmas tradition, reading the book to the kids and them making fun of us for crying the whole time, while also loving the story themselves. So, when I finished the book, I just said, I have to make this movie, and I’ve chased the rights for 20 years. The rights have been with other studios and other directors off and on, and I was just hoping God would preserve it for me and not let it get made. Finally, a few years ago, but because of ‘The Chosen,’ actually the rights holders said, all right, we’re ready for you to do this, and we think you’re the right guy,” he continued.

Jenkins had a unique approach to casting the six siblings in the film.

“The casting of the Herdman kids. They’re the worst kids in the history of the world. They’re on the outside, they’re in poverty. They do a lot of hijinks, but then of course, you have to find kids who can. I think it’s easier sometimes for kids to perform some of those parts, the humor, the toughness. It’s hard when the show gets more emotional and to find that heart. And so that was a big part of the casting process. It took us a long time. We went through hours and hours and hours of auditions because to find those kids at that age who can pull off both comedy and drama, it’s extraordinarily rare. And we just got very fortunate. I mean, I think we got to the place where the choices weren’t actually difficult because the kids had emerged so good that I think God brought them to us and said, these are the people that I want to portray,” he told CBN News.

A remarkable Christian revival is underway in a Russian-controlled part of Moldova, despite Moscow’s heavy hand. Very few foreign journalists are allowed in, but CBN News gained rare access to the Transnistria region.

Getting here is no easy feat. We began the 5,000-mile journey from the U.S. East Coast, stopping first in the tiny former Soviet republic of Moldova’s capital Chisinau. From there, we drove north along Ukraine’s southwestern border, where Moscow has recently stirred up political turmoil.

We made our way through several Russian checkpoints to Transnistria’s capital Tiraspol where a huge statue of Lenin still adorns the town square.

The Lord put a burden on Yuriy Semenyuk’s heart to move his family to this volatile region.

“In my heart, I really love people, that is my passion to serve people. I love God and I wanted to do something for Him all my life. And after a while, God told me, ‘Yuriy, I need you in one place that name is Transnistria’,” the pastor of Church of Christ Savior tells us.

In 2000, Pastor Yuriy, his wife, and three children decided to move from their home country in neighboring Ukraine to Transnistria. The first seven years of ministry as a missionary family were not easy.

“I was targeted by some people from the government, policemen, KGB and gangsters. The worst of course was from the gangsters because they tried to kill me, they tried to kidnap my children. Once I was kidnapped, but praise God, God let me escape,” he recalls.

A home video from May 2000 shows Semenyuk’s first foray into preaching. Despite ongoing threats, he continued to openly share the gospel, often taking his message to areas controlled by gangs. “Some of the gangsters became Christian, they became evangelical, their wives became evangelical, so they hated this, so that’s why they tried to stop us,” Semenyuk says.

In 1990, Transnistria broke away from Moldova to establish its own government, currency and statehood. And while it’s not recognized by the international community, the breakaway territory became economically, politically and militarily dependent on the Kremlin. Russia has about 2,000 troops stationed here.

Moscow’s agents soon began harassing Pastor Semenyuk. But he was undeterred. “Each morning, I wake up I say to myself, ‘Yuriy, you are still alive, and you have one more day to preach the gospel, one more day to do something for God’s Kingdom’,” he says.

From those humble, and at times nerve-wracking beginnings, Church of Christ Savior today is the largest congregation in Transnistria. “We have an unbelievable revival,” he says. “We are still alive 24 years later on the mission field, we are still alive!”

The 2024 presidential campaign comes to a conclusion today, and it all comes down to the battleground states where the margins are razor thin. Voters across the country are lining up to cast their ballot and election officials are taking extra security precautions to protect them.

In the final hours of the campaign, former President Trump made his case blitzing North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Michigan.

“Are you better off now than you were four years ago?” Trump asked during a final rally. “I’ve asked that question so many times that I’ve never had one hand go up for the other.”

The Harris campaign spread out across Pennsylvania, ending on top of the “Rocky” steps in Philadelphia.

“And here at these famous steps, a tribute to those who start as the underdog and climb to victory,” said Harris.

More than 80-million Americans voted early, and this Election Day millions more will cast their ballots with polls showing a tight race to the very end.

The race between Trump and Harris appears to be a toss-up in seven battleground states. According to the final Emerson College Polling/The Hill, the races are so close they’re a statistical tie.

In Arizona, Trump leads Harris 50% to 48%. Georgia has Trump edging out Harris 50 to 49%. In Michigan and Nevada, the race is tied 48 to 48. In North Carolina and Pennsylvania, Trump leads Harris 49 to 48. Wisconsin is also tied at 49 to 49%.

Voters in Virginia told CBN News what issues are most important to them.

“The economy, the economy, the economy,” said one voter. “I vote my wallet.”

Another said, “I would say women’s rights and education.”

“Considering that I’m leaving tonight for my son to graduate Marine Corps boot camp I’m very excited for this election and I’m hoping we get the right one in there,” said another voter.
