Rock Legend Alice Cooper Recounts How God ‘Miraculously Delivered’ Him from Alcohol Addiction

Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Alice Cooper is considered an American icon. But decades ago, the young musician was spiraling out of control allowing fame, fortune, and partying to drive him to the brink of destruction – that is until God stepped in and turned his life completely around. 

“Everything that could go wrong was shutting down inside of me,” Cooper once told the New York Daily News. “I was drinking with Jim Morrison and Jimi Hendrix and trying to keep up with Keith Moon and they all died at 27.”

Living on the edge of despair and desperation, Cooper was faced with two choices: either allow his alcohol addiction to kill him or give it all to Jesus. 

“It was on the road – with all that dead time – when I would really drink too much,” Cooper told Classic Rock. “I didn’t have an off switch. And finally, it caught up with me.” 

The year was 1977 and Cooper was at the height of his career, but delving deep into the bottom of the bottom.

“I woke up one morning, threw up blood,” Cooper told Greg Laurie on TBN’s Praise segment. He told the evangelist that his wife Sheryl looked at him and simply said, “Party’s over.”

She and Cooper’s manager, Shep Gordon, held an intervention telling him, “We couldn’t love you more, and this is tough love.”

The world-famous rock star found himself at Cornell Medical Center, a sanitarium located near the city of White Plains in Westchester County, New York.

“This was pretty much at the height of my career,” he recounted. “But in that hospital, none of the other patients had any idea who Alice Cooper was. And the reason for that was very simple. The other patients were all insane!” 

Cooper said God did the impossible while he was at the institute. He believes God supernaturally took his desire for alcohol.



“After two days, I felt great,” he told Laurie. “I came out of there, never once had a fell back on alcohol. Never fell back on drugs.”

“[It’s been] 39 years, 38 years. So God just literally took it away from me,” he said. 

“People say, ‘You’re a cured alcoholic.’ And I go, ‘No, I was a healed alcoholic.’ God took it away from me,” he explained. “Even the doctor said, ‘It’s impossible that you don’t at least fall off the wagon at least three or four times because you’re the classic alcoholic.’ And I said ‘What you don’t understand is God took it away from me…It’s a miracle.'”

Cooper continued, “After a while, they went, ‘You know what? God took it away from about your life should be deception. That’s (what) an alcoholic and a drug addict does. They put on this air that they’re cured, but back here they’re doing this and they’re doing that.'”

The rock star added that never happened to him and it led his doctors to recognize the divine in his transformation.

“Even the doctors were [saying],’ miracle. You’re a one-in-a-million case.’ And I said well, ‘You know God works like that.'”

‘Absolutely Incredible’: 300 Rush Forward to Accept Christ During Church Service

Pastor Greg Laurie of Harvest Christian Fellowship is encouraging fellow pastors to make it a habit to share the Gospel message and invite people to accept Christ as their Savior after every message they preach.

Laurie made that appeal after more than 300 people responded to a “brief” gospel invitation last week at his Riverside, California church campus.

In a video posted to social media, the pastor and evangelist wrote “God is moving!”

Laurie shared in the post that “people are searching” and are “hungry for truth.”

“In this video from Harvest OC—just a quick clip I shot on my phone—you can see people coming forward at our Riverside campus on the screen, and at OC, stepping out in faith to publicly declare their decision to follow Christ. It’s absolutely incredible,” he wrote.

“Now, a quick word to pastors—consider this: at the end of your message, why not take a moment to share the Gospel and invite people to come to Christ? The harvest is there—but we have to invite them in,” Laurie continued. “And to everyone else—people are searching. They are hungry for truth. They just need someone like you to start the conversation, to point them to Jesus.”

He added, “The Bible says, ‘How will they hear unless someone tells them?’ (Rom. 10:14). The answer? They won’t. So let’s step up, speak up, and share the Gospel—because when we do, lives are changed for eternity!”

Laurie founded Harvest Christian Fellowship in 1973 and now oversees its four campuses in California and Hawaii.

He recently preached a message titled, “The Man Who Needed a Second Chance,” at the Riverside campus which prompted those 300 people to respond to the Gospel.

Laurie also shared the same message at the brand-new Harvest Campus in Maui.

VP Vance Sounds Alarm on Law That May Prohibit Prayer in Private Homes

Vice President JD Vance faced swift backlash for asserting a Scottish law is banning prayer within private homes near abortion facilities, but the law certainly does raise concerns about individual rights, particularly given its ambiguity.

During a speech last week at the Munich Security Conference, the 40-year-old Vance said the Scottish government delivered letters to residents whose homes are within the perimeters of so-called “safe access zones” surrounding abortion clinics, the BBC reported.

The vice president referenced, as CBN News reported, the case of Adam Smith-Connor, a man in Bournemouth convicted last October for praying silently within the “safe access zone” of an abortion clinic in November 2022.

“I wish I could say that this was a fluke, a one-off, crazy example of a badly written law being enacted against a single person,” Vance said. “But, no, this [was] last October. Just a few months ago, the Scottish government began distributing letters to citizens whose houses lay within so-called ‘safe access zones,’ warning them that even private prayer within their own homes may amount to breaking the law.”

Critics of Vance immediately argued the letter distributed to residents living near abortion clinics never explicitly stated “prayer” could be considered an “offense.” Instead, the letter purportedly stated simply “activities” could be in violation of the law.

A spokesperson for the Scottish government told the BBC, “Private prayer at home is not prohibited within ‘safe access zones,’ and no letter has ever suggested it was. ‘Safe access zones’ are designed to safeguard a woman’s right to access healthcare and protect their right to dignity and respect when they need it most.”

The representative went on to say the law is centered on “only intentional or reckless behavior close to a small number of premises providing abortion services” and “it does not—and has never been intended to—criminalize any particular action, including silent prayer.”

Something Amazing Is Happening Among Kids in Struggling Cities

Johnstown, Pennsylvania, a city once thriving as a booming steel town, now faces significant economic challenges, including one of the nation’s highest poverty rates. Yet, in the midst of hardship, faith-based programs are stepping in to inspire the next generation, offering truth, purpose and hope for the future.

The view here in Johnstown is excellent—it’s a city with a rich past, but it has fallen on some difficult times. That includes a series of devastating floods, beginning with the infamous 1889 disaster. Then the economy took a serious downturn after Bethlehem Steel pulled out, and now, in its wake, there’s a lingering sense of hopelessness.

But even a city in a dark valley can shine a light. Programs like Bible2School are bringing faith to the next generation, teaching children about Jesus and instilling a sense of purpose.

“People kind of expect bad things,” says Pastor Doug Black of Liberty Grace Church. “They’ve grown up in this generational expectation that nothing good’s going to happen in Johnstown. So, it’s hard to give them hope because it’s not what they’ve experienced.”

Local pastors are meeting weekly for prayer, seeking spiritual renewal for their city. This week, they gather on a rooftop, standing in the gap for Johnstown. “God, the gospel is good news, Lord,” prays Pastor Terry Knipple. “The city of Johnstown is struggling, and they need good news.”

Their prayers may be finding an answer in the next generation. While student engagement can be a challenge for public schools, children in Johnstown are eagerly skipping lunch and recess to learn about the Bible through Bible2School.

“And who or what is the rock? That firm foundation? What does that rock represent?” asks a teacher in one of the classes.

“Jesus! The Bible!” the students respond enthusiastically.

“So many of the kids have never been told that Jesus loves them,” says Stacy Novak, Executive Director of Bible2School Laurel Highlands. “We have conversations with them, ‘Do you know that you are valued, and do you know you are loved?’ It’s like they’re hearing this for the very first time.”

23,000 Babies Spared Under Florida’s Heartbeat Law

New data released from the Florida Agency for Healthcare Administration shows that more than 23,000 babies have been born who would have otherwise been aborted, since the state’s “heartbeat law” went into effect.

Florida has become one of the most pro-life states in the nation since Gov. Ron DeSantis signed the “Heartbeat Protection Act” in 2023.

The law protects unborn babies after their unique heartbeats can be detected, between six-to-eight weeks gestation, and provides resources for young mothers and families.

It also requires giving a pregnant woman an option to view an ultrasound, a 24-hour reflection period unless there is an emergency and she must have informed consent. And while it does include exceptions for cases of rape, incest and human trafficking, it must be officially documented.



The law went into effect on May 1, 2024, after a lengthy legal battle in which Florida’s Supreme Court ruled 6-1 that there is no right to abortion in the Florida Constitution. The “Heartbeat Protection Act” went into effect alongside the state’s 15-week abortion ban.

The law includes the same exceptions from the 15-week ban for preserving the life of the mother, which includes ectopic pregnancies; fatal abnormalities where the unborn baby is not expected to survive outside the womb; and to “avert a serious risk of substantial and irreversible physical impairment or a major bodily function of the pregnant woman other than a psychological condition.”

Florida was once a prime destination for women seeking an abortion in the South. Many of its neighboring states already had protections in place for unborn babies, however, since the legislation went into place non-Florida residents traveling from out of state for an abortion fell significantly in 2024 – almost 51% – Liberty Counsel, a non-profit legal group, reports.

“The news of fewer abortions in Florida, previously an abortion destination state, is evident that pro-life laws are saving lives and protecting women. Pro-life laws will only continue to bear fruit and we must continue to affirm everyone’s inalienable right to life whether born or unborn,” Liberty Counsel Founder and Chairman Mat Staver said.

The “Heartbeat Protection Act” has also provided $30 million in reoccurring state funding to support pregnant women and their families with clothing, cribs, car seats, and more.

Heartbreak in Israel as Nation Mourns Deceased Hostages

The nation of Israel is in mourning. The bodies of four kidnapped hostages from the October 7th massacre made their way from Gaza to Israel Thursday morning.

Today’s exchange was widely regarded as the most heart-wrenching yet.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reflected the soul of the country, saying Wednesday, “The heart of an entire nation is torn. My heart is torn. Yours too. And the heart of the whole world needs to break, because here, we see who we are dealing with, what we are dealing with: monsters. We grieve, we are in pain, but we are also determined to ensure that something like this does not happen again.”


The International Red Cross brought the bodies from Hamas to the Israel Defense Forces who took them to Israel for forensic identification. It’s expected the four bodies include Shiri Bibas and her four-year-old son Ariel, and nine-month-old son Kfir, along with 84-year-old Oded Lifshitz, one of the founders of Kibbutz Nir Oz, from which they were all captured.




Earlier, in a ceremony attended by thousands of men, women and children, Hamas masked men brought out the caskets. Al Jazeera even interviewed some who claimed to be the kidnappers. Hamas contends that IDF bombs killed the four who were turned over on Thursday, but autopsies will be performed to reveal how they were killed.

Israeli President Isaac Herzog believes these next few days will be “heart-wrenching” for Israelis.

“These are days of a wake-up call—not just for our nation, but for the entire family of nations. In the face of this evil—led by the evil Iranian regime and its proxies, we must stand together, resolutely, firmly, and courageously,” Herzog declared.

Thousands of Israelis gathered Wednesday at Hostage Square and again on Thursday.

For many, the Bibas family has become the most well-known of the hostages. The video of a terrified mother clutching her babies has become the emblem of the cruelty of Hamas on October 7th and for more than 500 days afterward.

‘Amazing Salvation Numbers’: Revival Signals a Spiritual Shift Happening

Brazil is witnessing a seismic shift in its religious landscape that’s rapidly reshaping the country’s spiritual and social fabric. As CBN News discovered, evangelicals are poised to outnumber Catholics as the largest faith group there.

In the heart of Brazil, amidst the rhythmic beats of samba and the vibrant colors of carnival, something spiritually profound is unfolding. “We are on the verge of a religious change in Brazil’, said Brazilian sociologist Dr. José Alves.

If there’s one image that symbolizes Catholicism’s influence here, it’s Rio de Janeiro’s 98-foot-tall Christ the Redeemer. Inaugurated in 1931, the iconic statute celebrated the country’s rich Catholic heritage. There’s also the beautiful blue Cathedral of Brasilia – one of the largest Catholic churches in Brazil’s capital city. But despite these historical landmarks, Alves says the faith’s dominance is rapidly declining.

“In 1950, 93 percent of Brazilians identified as Catholics. The Church was losing about 1 percent of followers every decade,” said Alves. “However, from 1991 onwards, the Catholic Church started to lose 1 percent of followers every year, resulting in a dramatic drop.”

Evangelical Christianity, once a minority faith here, is now growing at unprecedented levels. The surveys show that what was once the world’s largest Catholic nation, will be overwhelming evangelical by 2030.




Signs of this growth are everywhere—mega-churches dotting the landscape, filled with thousands of worshippers each week. That includes Andre Fernandes’ church in São Paulo.

“We are living in the fulfillment of a promise,” said Fernandes, who pastors Lagoinha Church. “For many decades, we have heard that Brazil would experience a wave of revival that would be exported around the world, and I believe that this is what we are experiencing at this moment.”

It also includes Lourival Pereira’s congregation in the Amazon region—boasting more than 10,000 members across roughly 600 cell groups.

“The foundation of our growth is these cells,” said Pereira, pastor of a Foursquare Church in Belem. “The real revival is taking place outside the church walls. Every day, people are meeting in small groups in homes; it’s the biblical model.”

Then there’s J.B. Carvalho’s church in the capital city of Brasília.

“We started the church in 2003 with only 25 people. Today, we have about 12,000 people in Brasília alone,” said Carvalho of Community of the Nations Church. “We also have another 15,000 people in Fortaleza. Our churches are spread throughout Brazil.”

Parents Clash with School Board Over Sexual Images in Kid’s Book

Parents in Penfield, NY are outraged over a controversial book accessible to children as young as the age of five. It’s about a little girl who attends an LGBTQ pride parade and it reportedly includes pictures of naked people and men in bondage fetish gear.

“The Rainbow Parade” currently sits in the library of Cobbles Elementary School in Penfield.

Post about the book alleged the material was brought home from school by a kindergartner, but Jennifer Selever says her fifth-grade daughter actually brought the book home in December.

“This is soft pornography. It’s inexcusable why it’s in the system for elementary school kids and I want it gone,” Selever told Spectrum News 1.

The mom said she doesn’t take issue with the story – which is about a young girl who is apprehensive about joining an LGBTQ parade with her two moms – but rather the images illustrated in the book.

“My problem is with the photos,” she said. “I don’t care if it’s a heterosexual book. If you have explicit photos in a book for an elementary school kid, it’s not excusable. It shouldn’t happen. They shouldn’t be in there.”

Selever points out the most troubling parts, “You could see here this is the BDSM attire with a chain and leather straps. And this is the naked image. This one, the man is naked. He has balloons in front of his private parts. This one here, I don’t know if it’s a woman or a drag queen, but breasts are hanging out.”

Selever was joined by a host of parents last week who called on the Penfield Central School District to remove the book from the school’s library shelves.

“Your main topic is to talk about gender fluidity with these kids and ideology when they are underperforming and their academic achievements are down. It’s time to get back to education, not indoctrination,” she told the board at the start of the meeting.

But instead of school board members being open to hearing from Selever and other concerned parents, they shut them down.

Terrifying Footage Shows Delta Jet Flipping Upon Landing

A badly injured child is among eight people who were hurt Monday when a Delta Airlines plane flipped upon arrival at Toronto’s Pearson Airport.

The airport confirmed on X that an “incident” occurred with the Delta flight from Minneapolis and that all 80 passengers and crew are accounted for. Three of the eight people hurt are critically injured, paramedics said. Delta said in a statement the accident happened at 3:30 p.m.

Video from the scene shows the Mitsubishi CRJ-900LR upside down on the snowy tarmac as emergency workers hose it down. The plane was somewhat obscured by snow from a winter storm that hit Toronto over the weekend.

Ornge air ambulance said it was transporting one pediatric patient to Toronto’s SickKids hospital and two adults with critical injuries to other hospitals in the city.

“Emergency teams are responding,” the airport said in a post on the social platform X. “All passengers and crew are accounted for.”

It is too early to say what caused the plane to flip but weather may have played a factor. According to the Meteorological Service of Canada, the airport was experiencing blowing snow and winds of 32 mph (51 kph) gusting to 40 mph (65 kph). The temperature was about 16.5 degrees Fahrenheit (-8.6 Celsius).

The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement that the Transportation Safety Board of Canada will head up the investigation and provide any updates. The National Transportation Safety Board said it is leading a team of U.S. investigators to assist in the Canadian investigation.

It is at least the fourth major aviation mishap in North America in the past month. A commercial jetliner and an Army helicopter collided near the nation’s capital on Jan. 29, killing 67 people. A medical transportation plane crashed in Philadelphia on Jan. 31, killing the six people on board and another person on the ground and 10 were killed in a plane crash in Alaska.

Delta said in a statement that “initial reports were that there are no fatalities.”

500 Days Into War: Netanyahu and Rubio Agree Hamas Must Be Eliminated, Iran Stopped

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday. Their meeting follows a heart-wrenching Saturday when the Hamas terror group released three more hostages to their families. Monday also marks 500 days since the Oct. 7, 2023, attacks.

After their meeting, Rubio and Netanyahu agreed that Hamas must be destroyed.

“Hamas cannot continue as a military or government force,” Rubio stated. “And frankly, as long as it stands as a force that can govern or as a force that can administer, or as a force that can threaten by use of violence, peace becomes impossible. They must be eliminated. It must be eradicated.”

Netanyahu once again backed President Donald Trump’s plan to help all Gazans leave their war-torn, devastated region while others rebuild it under U.S. control. He believes many Palestinians want to leave but Hamas won’t let them.

“Everybody says this is the largest open-air prison in the world. Not because of us,” Netanyahu declared. “We tried to get the population to leave—to get them out of harm’s way. And Hamas—with rifles, with gunfire—try to prevent them from leaving.”



Trump’s Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff recently visited Gaza and saw why people can’t reasonably live in much of it now.

“It’s completely devastated,” Witkoff observed. “And that begs the question: should people be allowed in there in those dangerous conditions? Thank God we’ve had no incidents. But, there’s 30,000 unexploded shells throughout Gaza, and the buildings are all down. It’s utter destruction.”

Netanyahu also indicated this weekend he and the Trump administration see eye to eye on the threat from Iran.

“Israel and America stand shoulder to shoulder in countering the threat of Iran,” he claimed. “We agree that the ayatollahs must not have nuclear weapons.”

“Them getting a bomb is devastating to the region,” Witkoff said. “It’ll force every other country in that region to get a bomb, too. We’ll have a nuclear arms race, and that simply can’t happen.”

Rubio concurred, saying, “Behind everything that threatens peace and stability for the millions of people who call this region home is Iran. And by Iran, I mean the ayatollahs. By Iran, I mean its regime, a regime who, by the way, its people don’t support. The people of Iran are victims of that regime.”
