Dolly Parton Announces She’s Putting Music Career on Hold

Country music legend Dolly Parton has announced that she is putting her music career on hold in the wake of her husband Carl Dean’s death in March.

Parton opened up about her decision on Wednesday while on Khloé Kardashian’s “Khloé in Wonder Land” podcast. She shared that the grief she is facing with her husband’s death has affected her creative process for writing new music.

The 41-year-old TV personality had asked Parton if she ever suffered from writer’s block. Parton responded by sharing that her husband’s death has made it exceptionally hard.

“My husband passed away three months ago…[there are] several things I’ve wanted to start, but I can’t do it. I will later, but I’m just coming up with such wonderful, beautiful ideas. But I think I won’t finish it,” she expressed.

“I can’t do it right now because I’ve got so many other things that I can’t afford the luxury of getting that emotional right now. So there are times like that, things like that that will start here a little bit, but I’ll write something else, though, if it comes. So I’m just putting that all on hold,” Parton continued.

As CBN News reported, Parton and Dean had been together for 60 years before he passed away on March 3 in Nashville, Tennessee. Dean had avoided the spotlight during his famous wife’s lifelong career, but he served as an inspiration for her, including her timeless song “Jolene.”

Parton told CBN News in a 2016 interview that her husband was a gift from God.

“I think my husband and my relationship was just really a God-send,” Parton said. “God knew I was going to need somebody like him if I was going to be doing all this crazy stuff.”

“But He knew he (Carl) was going to need somebody like me because Carl is pretty much a loner and he really doesn’t want to be with anybody but me,” she added.

The couple’s love story began 62 years ago when they met outside a Wishy Washy Laundromat. Parton was 18 years old and had just moved to Nashville.

“I just think we’re right in the middle of something really special,” he said. “The most incredible time, at least in my generation — in my lifetime, I’ll say.”

Pokluda said he’s experiencing miracles in his own life as he continues giving the Gospel message. He shared the story of recently telling his hairdresser about the Lord — something she had been praying about that very morning as she grappled with belief in the Almighty.

“She started freaking out and she was like, ‘I prayed this morning. I said, ‘God, if you’re real, you’re gonna have to send someone to tell me that you’re real,’” he recalled, noting that there have been so many God moments like that one that he’s “stopped being surprised.”

700 Inmates Worship God in Oklahoma Prison, 400 Give Their Lives to Christ

The Spirit of God moved powerfully through salvations, baptisms and life-changing moments during an outreach at an Oklahoma prison last week. More than 700 inmates worshipped Jesus and were “touched by the presence of God,” one of the organizers told CBN News.

Pastor Paul Daugherty has been leading Victory Christian Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, for more than 10 years, succeeding his parents, Sharon and the late Billy Joe Daugherty, who founded the church.

It is one of the city’s largest churches, and while more than 7,000 worshippers participate in services each week, the Holy Spirit spoke to Daugherty just three short months ago, asking him to reach an unlikely group with the Gospel message.

“I was like, man, I really feel like there’s a harvest of people in the prisons that we could reach with God’s love that [only a few] churches in our city [are] really going after,” he told CBN News. “I really want[ed] to reach almost every prisoner we can in an outreach.”

Daugherty says God gave him favor with Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt and his staff, including a timely connection with Brian Bobek, the state’s chief operating officer.

“He happened to be a Christian and said he was looking for a church to go to and started coming to our church,” the megachurch pastor shared.

Bobek advised Daugherty to make the prison outreach an event that would draw men out of their cells.

“I said, ‘I don’t wanna just do a small service for 10 or 20 guys….I want to reach almost every prisoner we can,'” Daugherty told Bobek.

The pastor and his team decided on creating an outreach that would allow the prisoners to get outside, enjoy hamburgers and hot dogs, receive free pamphlets and a Bible.

They held the first outreach at John H. Lilley Prison in Boley, Oklahoma on June 23rd.

“We showed up last Monday and we weren’t sure if we would get 100 guys or 200,” Daugherty admitted to CBN News.

To his surprise, the dry brown field began to flood with men in orange prison uniforms. In total, 751 inmates showed up that day to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ preached.

As Daugherty watched the inmates file out of the prison, the Lord spoke to his heart.

“When I saw them getting out of their pods and walking towards the field…I just started weeping because I was like man this looks like a picture out of the Bible when Jesus saw that village of Samaritan people. He said the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.”

Pastor Carries Cross from Coast to Coast to Preach About Jesus

A pastor who has carried a 75-pound, wooden cross for two years across the United States is in the nation’s capital this week with a message he first preached on the West Coast.

Pastor Nick Schindler carried the cross all the way to the gates of the White House, as he and other people have been praying, worshipping, and welcoming Jesus Christ into public squares across the nation.

He was hoping for a face-to-face meeting with President Trump to discuss the epidemic of homelessness and to submit ideas about how to end it for hundreds of thousands of citizens.

Fascinated by the cross in small towns and large cities where Schindler has carried it, newspaper, radio, and television media have documented the journey from coast to coast.

Schindler hopes the same interest occurs in D.C. so that the message of the cross and homeless awareness spreads.

After Schindler placed the cross near the White House gates, his plan was to visit a ministry site with a history of non-stop prayer and worship in the nation’s capital. David’s Tent, a 24-7 prayer, praise, and worship ministry in D.C., is honoring the cross with a new home – a place for Schindler to revisit and remember.

“I’m going to miss the cross,” said Schindler, who is 40. “People have shed tears of joy and sorrow on this cross,” he said from near the White House.

“It is more than two pieces of wood; it’s a testimony to the healing power of God through a vessel like me. The cross has become a part of me, and I’m a part of it,” he added.

Schindler first constructed the cross, then hoisted it onto his shoulder in Bend, Oregon, on June 23, 2023.

During the trek, Schindler shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ hundreds of times – both in one-on-one encounters and in churches large and small – and highlighted the plights of unhoused people for politicians and citizens in 11 states.

From a National Day of Prayer breakfast in the South, homeless encampments, rural and urban churches, to the floor of a state legislature, Schindler has endured below-zero temperatures and agony in his hips and feet from long walks with the cross.

“I’ve been blessed to sit down the cross and rest; Jesus didn’t get to do that. He was blinded by his blood and parched for water. When he needed rest, there was no mercy,” said Schindler.

Schindler has also enjoyed the honor of preaching, serving, and praying across America.

Woman Meets Jesus During Shocking NDE: ‘I Was Preparing to Die’

Vanessa Joy Lancellotti was a newlywed preparing to get her life moving when the unthinkable happened — a February 2016 near-death experience that was absolutely terrifying.

“I had a ruptured arteriovenous malformation of the brain … and it’s something that I wasn’t aware I had that you can actually develop … in the womb … before birth,” Lancellotti told CBN News. “And, so, it just ruptured out of nowhere when I was having tea with my two sisters, Amanda and Melissa.”

The sisters were having a good time when Lancellotti started experiencing sharp pain in the back of her head — an ache so strong she collapsed to her knees in discomfort.

Lancellotti, who tells her story in the new book, “Miracles Really Do Happen!: Jesus Makes All Things New,” said she was “really scared,” and that her sisters rushed to get her to the hospital.

“I felt [like my head] was wet inside,” she said. “I felt it rupture. I felt the bleed out.”

Lancellotti said she knew what she was experiencing was serious and “life-threatening” and that death might befall her.

“I started preparing myself to meet Jesus because I really felt and believed that, ‘OK, this is it. I think I only have a few minutes left and I better get ready and prepare myself to meet Jesus,’” she said. “And, so, I started to repent the best way that I could and go through kind of my life history.”

She continued to repent while on the way to the hospital, fully prepared to die.

By the time she reached the hospital, she was unable to function. With the hospital ill-equipped to deal with the situation, they prepared to transport her to another facility and loaded her into an ambulance.

“I was preparing to die,” Lancellotti said. “I was not praying like, ‘Oh, Lord, let me be healed,’ because I knew that this was happening quickly. … It was like I was preparing to meet the Lord.”

Suddenly, while in the ambulance, she felt like she had been swept up into a “new place” and all of her pain and fear dissipated.

“I had no recollection of the past at all whatsoever,” she said. “It’s like sin never existed, pain never existed — no physical, spiritual, emotional pain at all. It was all gone, and it was wiped away immediately, and I was in the presence of the Lord. It was just this bright white, vibrant light around me, like this pure, pure white.”

Lancellotti said it is hard to put the experience into words. Overtaken by peace, she said she was suddenly with Jesus.

We’re in the Middle of 4 Significant Celestial Signs That Could Hold a Prophetic Message for Israel

It all kicked off with that total lunar eclipse known as a “blood moon” that primarily appeared over the U.S. on Mar. 14, 2025. This first eclipse fell directly on the day of Purim, when the Jewish people celebrate the biblical account of Esther, in which they were delivered from annihilation at the hands of an enemy named Haman in the Persian Empire, which is modern-day Iran.

That first lunar eclipse will be followed by two more blood moons, with one coming this fall in 2025 before Rosh Hashanah, and then the third one ALSO falling directly on Purim on Mar. 3, 2026.

Bible prophecy experts say lunar eclipses, known as “blood moons,” are tied to events that affect Israel. And with antisemitism spiking around the globe, the ongoing chaos with Hamas in Gaza, and the massive Middle East shifts that have followed the October 7 massacre in Israel, the two Purim blood moons come during a very tumultuous time.

Now, just as CBN News forewarned in early 2025, Israel has taken historic action, moving decisively in June to neutralize the existential threat posed by the Iranian regime in Tehran. Israel felt compelled to act swiftly as rumors abounded that Iran was close to completing a nuclear weapon that could be deployed against the Jewish state.

What Is the Significance of a Blood Moon?

A blood moon is a full lunar eclipse in which the moon can appear to be an eerie, blood-red color. Blood moons occur when Earth passes directly between the moon and the sun, preventing the sun from reflecting off the moon and casting a reddish shadow over it.

In the first such event, the moon turned red for more than an hour over North and South America on Mar. 14.

The cosmic moment will repeat on Sept. 7, 2025, with an 82-minute “blood moon” that will be visible over Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. That’s two weeks before the Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, which is a time of prayer and repentance.

Then, the third blood moon will arrive on Purim on Mar. 3, 2026. It will be visible for nearly six hours from Asia to parts of North America.

Christian leaders who study biblical prophecy, like Pastor John Hagee and Pastor Mark Biltz, have contended for years that blood moons portend significant events for Israel and the Middle East and, therefore, the entire world.

TODD’S STORY

Your doubts and fears can cripple your spirit and keep you from living the life God intended for you to live. However, if you stay rooted in God – through Scripture, prayer, community and worship – you can navigate your doubts to deepen your trust in God and strengthen your faith. Todd shares times in his own life when he wrestled with doubt:

Horrific Accident –Todd and Julie traveled to Colorado to go hiking in the mountains. They saw other people in the resort load their bikes onto chairlifts with the intent to ride them down the mountain. Todd convinced Julie to do the same. As they began the descent, Julie picked up speed quickly. She hit a rock, was thrown through the air, and landed on her back. Julie was barely conscious and unable to move from her neck down. Todd called 911. A few moments later all the feeling came back, and she could feel everything. For two hours they were stranded on the side of the mountain because the vegetation kept them hidden from the mountain patrol. When help finally arrived, Julie was taken to the hospital where they discovered she had a fractured back, broken shoulder, collapsed lung, and five shattered ribs. Doctors were working hard to make sure her vital organs were functioning properly.

After a long recovery, Julie regained her strength. However, this incident affected Todd’s sense of adventure and he began to doubt his ability to make decisions and protect his wife. Todd dealt with the doubts he faced by speaking God’s promises over his life and replacing lies of the enemy with truth.

Christ Fellowship Church – When Todd and Julie stepped into the role of Senior Pastors at Christ Fellowship, they had already been on staff for over twenty years serving Todd’s parents’ vision of the church. Understandably, Todd felt intimidated to follow in the footsteps of his father, Dr. Tom Mullins. In addition, John Maxwell, an international speaker and leadership expert, attended the church and often sat on the front row listening to him. “I felt myself constantly comparing my preaching to John’s or my dad’s,” shares Todd.

Comparing himself to his dad or John was stirring up feelings of insecurity and doubt. Todd decided to deal with the doubt that was trying to derail him. He went up to John after the service and asked him to coach him. As a result of John’s coaching, Todd’s communication skills improved.

Signs and Wonders Today: Imam Meets Jesus in Dream, Bleeding Woman Is Healed

Missionaries in the Middle East are once again reporting signs and wonders, including divine encounters with Jesus Christ. In the latest example, yet another Muslim says he met Jesus in a dream, and the message that was delivered by the “man in white” to this Islamic leader is undeniably supernatural.

Uncharted’s team shares the gospel with Muslims and a growing number of secular Egyptians, resulting in some remarkable testimonies.

Rahman and his team were ministering to people in a small village in the Egyptian desert when he came upon Ahmed – the imam of the village’s mosque and the town’s most important Islamic leader.

Ahmed’s devotion to Islam and the five daily prayers is easily seen by the dark callus on his forehead known as a “zabiba” (Arabic for raisin). This mark is caused by the repeated rubbing of the forehead on the prayer rug after decades of repeated prostration during prayer. Devout Muslims like Ahmed are proud of this mark and see it as an outward sign of their lifelong devotion to Allah.

After being introduced, Ahmed said, “Ah, you are Rahman. Just the man I am looking for. Please tell me the meaning of my dream last night.”

Rahman said, “Can you tell me more? What was your dream, and why do you think I can help you?” 

Ahmed said, “Last night, a man dressed in bright white came to me in a dream. He said, ‘I am Jesus Christ. ‘  I don’t know who that is, so I asked him to tell me more about himself.  The man in white said, ‘Tomorrow you will meet a man named Rahman and he will tell you all about me.’  So, Rahman, who is Jesus?”

Another story that Rahman shared took place in a refugee area where the ministry’s Egyptian team was conducting visits. They met a Syrian woman named Fatima.

Rahman felt the Holy Spirit lead him to share with Fatima the story from Luke 8:42-48 where Jesus healed the woman who had been bleeding for 12 years.  Rahman said he couldn’t remember ever sharing that particular story with anyone before. It seemed an odd choice, but he shared it with her.

Fatima abruptly got up and ran out of the room. She quickly returned with five other women and said, “This man just told me a story from his Bible. It is my story, except the years are different. I have only been bleeding for eight years, not 12.”

‘He Is Coming Soon’: CeCe Winans Brings Bold Gospel Message to NPR

Legendary Christian artist CeCe Winans stepped behind NPR’s Tiny Desk recently to bring her Gospel-infused songs to the outlet’s headquarters in Washington, D.C.

“I just want everyone to know God loves you with an everlasting love,” Winans said, surrounded by her denim-clad band and backup singers. “Because He never changes, we can always run to Him, no matter what we face.”

She went on to encourage those gathered in the NPR office to remember Romans 8:31, in which the Apostle Paul wrote, “What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?” (NLT)

Winans, 60, spoke about the consistency of God in her life and through her career, which, she said, began when she was just 17 years old.

“I fell in love with the presence of God as a young child, and I’m so glad I did, because it’s a safe place,” she said. “He’s blessed me with a great family.”

She told the audience, “When you recognize who Jesus is, you can’t help but worship Him.”

The Grammy-winning artist performed abridged versions of several of her most popular songs, including “Alabaster Box,” “Pray,” “Believe for It,” “Come Jesus Come,” “Goodness of God,” and “That’s My King.”

Winans spoke with CBN News in early May, urging parents to instill godly wisdom and spiritual values into their children, calling generational faith “crucial for the body of Christ.”

“[Jesus] finished it on the cross — the availability of salvation — but He uses us and our children and our children’s children to continue to win the world to Him,” she said.

Is Israel-Iran War Part of Biblical End Times?

Author and prophecy expert Todd Hampson is closely monitoring the events unfolding in the Middle East, noting how some perceive Israel’s preemptive strike on Iran as potentially having prophetic significance.

“I wasn’t surprised that it happened, but … I didn’t know if it was going to happen today or two weeks from now,” Hampson told CBN News. “I was blown away at how they went all in and … you can tell … this is their one shot to eradicate the nuclear program and they’re doing everything they can to do it.”

The “Prophecy Pros Podcast” host said those who study Bible prophecy know these events could have “huge implications.” Iran has made no secret of its quest to see Israel wiped off the map, and Israel seems intent on using its operation Rising Lion to stop the Islamic Republic’s growing nuclear program.

When asked what motivates Iran’s hatred for Israel, Hampson said he believes “it’s all spiritual.”

“It’s all demonically led at the root,” he said, noting how Scripture also prophecies Israel will one day come back into the land, something he and many other prophecy experts believe happened in 1948 when Israel was re-established.

Hampson continued, “I believe it’s demonically led. From a human perspective, it’s an ideological thing. They’re radical Islamic [adherents]. They have a clock that is counting down to the destruction of Israel, that’s in their capital city. I mean, who does that?”

The author said that anytime a group seeks to “destroy all the Jewish people,” the Israeli people believe they must be taken at their word, citing the Holocaust and other such moments throughout history.

On the prophecy front, there’s no doubt some people are looking at Ezekiel 38-39 and pondering whether the events prophesied in those chapters could somehow be tied to what’s happening in the Middle East right now, particularly the portion of the text that warns of an Iranian-led invasion.
