Experts call them a “privacy nightmare.”

New cars can collect more data about you than anything else you own, including your cell phone, and for good reason. Driver data has been valued at $400 billion.

“The saying in Silicon Valley is, ‘If you’re not paying for the product, you’re the product.’ But what’s strange with cars is that the average new car costs almost $50,000. You’re still the product,” says Andrea Amico, founder and CEO of Privacy4Cars, one of the nation’s top experts on auto data collection.

Amico says, “If you ask Americans how they feel about their car, they’ll tell you they’re an extension of their home. They feel it’s a very private place.”

In fact, your car is far from private. A study by Mozilla’s ‘Privacy Not Included’ project found cars to be the worst product for privacy they’ve ever tested.

The fine print on Nissan’s privacy statement from 2023 says it may collect “Sensitive personal information, including…citizenship status, immigration status, race, national origin, religious or philosophical beliefs, sexual orientation, sexual activity…health diagnosis data, and genetic information.”

After an uproar, the company’s most recent privacy statement omits the collection of “sexual” and “genetic” information.

Security and privacy expert Thorin Klosowski at the Electronic Frontier Foundation says it’s not clear if it was just lawyerly fine print. “It’s kind of hard to say if they’re actually collecting anything or if they’ve just written it so that they could theoretically collect something,” Klosowski said.

David Crowder Asks for Prayer After ‘Emergency Surgery’ Forces Him to Cancel Shows

Christian singer-songwriter David Crowder announced Wednesday he had to have “emergency surgery” after breaking his leg, forcing him to cancel future shows.

“I’m not near as athletic as I thought I was, I’ve broken my leg and had to have emergency surgery including some plates and screws,” he wrote in an Instagram post with a picture of him recovering in a hospital bed. “[I]’m on the mend and we will figure out how to get back there as soon as we can! Thanks so much for the prayers.”

3,200+ Say ‘Yes’ to Jesus in Portland as 35,000+ Attend Rare PDX Gospel Rally

Thousands of people made decisions to follow Jesus Christ at a massive evangelistic rally held recently in Portland, Oregon.

More than 35,000 people attended the PDX Crusade, which was organized by Athey Creek Church, and the organizers report that more than 3,200 responded by saying “yes” to the good news of God’s offer of salvation and new life in Him.

“PDX Crusade 2025 was a life-changing weekend. So many met Jesus, and His name was magnified across our city,” the church announced in a post.

These types of outreaches are so uncommon in Portland that KLOVE reports this was the first such “crusade” event in the city in more than 25 years. But the response from attendees indicates a spiritual hunger for God has been building up for years throughout “Rose City” and the surrounding areas.

The outreach was held at the Moda Center on August 2-3, and huge crowds came each night to see top Christian musicians like Chris Tomlin, Zach Williams, Cain, Taya, Anne Wilson, and Kari Jobe & Cody Carnes.

As Pastor Brett Meador shared the gospel during the high point of each night, a huge red, yellow, and white graphic was displayed behind him reading, “Out of Darkness into the Light.”

He shared with the crowd, “We live in a town where darkness is all around us… If you live here, you feel it – how desperately people need to believe in Jesus that they may find hope. We need to see our town, our city and our whole country come out of the darkness and into the light.”

He went on to preach from scripture that, “Anyone who confess with their mouth and believes in their heart on the Lord Jesus Christ, the Bible tells us that you’ll be saved. Your sins are forgiven. Massive Prayer Gatherings Bring Christians Together in Tennessee

Hundreds of Christians from various denominations in Tennessee gathered together to pray and seek God, believing for a move by His Spirit that will ultimately “transform” families, cities, the Volunteer State and the nation.

A 30-day prayer and fasting initiative, called Pray4TN, launched on July 1 and concluded over the weekend on August 2nd. Organizers told CBN News in an emailed statement that while similar events have been held before, this year’s timing was critical.

“It’s a time at the beginning of the TN government’s fiscal year when we focus on praying for our government leaders, humbling ourselves and repenting for our shortcomings, standing in the gap and repenting for the evils in our state, and repenting of our own personal sins. We want Jesus to be honored in Tennessee as the Volunteer State that is #LeadingtheWay,” wrote Barbi Franklin, Pray4TN State Facilitator.

As CBN News reported, State Rep. Monty Fritts (R) took steps last year to spearhead a resolution that would officially make the month of July a month to pray, fast and repent.

HJR0051 was signed in May by Gov. Bill Lee, designating the period of July 1, 2025, through July 31, 2025, as a time of prayer and fasting in Tennessee, seeking God’s hand of mercy and healing on the state.

Organizers say that with the signing of the resolution, they believe it placed an “unprecedented, annual call for those ‘physically able and spiritually inclined’ to join in the effort.”

“Tennessee faces urgent challenges: deadly drugs in our smallest towns, broken families, rising crime, and more that make the need for hope and healing essential. Netanyahu Vows to Conquer Gaza as Huckabee Condemns Hamas Atrocities

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly has decided to conquer the entire Gaza Strip. The decision means the Israel Defense Forces would enter areas where Israel believes many of the remaining hostages are located.

Netanyahu announced on Monday that he will convene his cabinet to instruct the IDF on how to defeat Hamas and free the hostages.

“We must continue to stand together and fight together to achieve the war goals we have set – all of them – the defeat of the enemy, the release of our hostages, and the assurance that Gaza will no longer pose a threat to Israel,” the prime minister declared.

He added, “Later this week, I will convene the cabinet to instruct the IDF on how to achieve these three goals, all of them, without exception.”

U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee accompanied Middle East Envoy Steve Witkoff on a visit to the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation. President Trump sent them on a mission to report on the U.S. and Israeli-backed effort that has provided more than one hundred million meals to hungry Gazans in a little more than two months.

“The most important thing I saw was the efficiency of the GHF operation, which, by the way, Hamas hates,” the ambassador told CBN News. “They said it was the second most important thing to get rid of if they’re going to get a deal to let the hostages go. What does that tell you? It’s working. And the people of Gaza get the food for free, and Hamas can’t steal it.”

Vacation Bible School as Popular as Ever, 70,000 Kids Estimated to Make Jesus Lord This Summer

Summertime means Vacation Bible School for many churches across the country. For more than a hundred years, VBS has provided children a week-long, faith-based experience combining learning with fun and fellowship.

Excitement filled the air at Kempsville Baptist Church in Virginia Beach on a recent hot Wednesday night in July, as children from kindergarten through 5th grade showed up for their 3rd night of VBS. Bible lessons combined with games, crafts, music and other activities engage the young people while helping them grow in their faith.

This year’s focus is magnifying the Lord.

Lifeway VBS Specialist Melita Thomas told CBN News, “It’s all about seeing the bigness of God in the small details of His creation. For a generation of kids that is plagued with isolation, that’s plagued with anxiety and loneliness and worry to have a message that the God of the universe is never too busy for you, that He sees you and knows you and loves you, He made you, you are not a mistake. He knows how many hairs are on your head. He loves you so much that He chose to die to pave the way for our relationship to be restored to Him.”

In addition to the activities, many children receive Jesus during their time here.

“I think at least every year we have one or two kids that come to know the Lord, and then we see them plant that seed to their families as they go back home also. And then we’ve had families come attend our church through this also,” Kempsville VBS Dir. McKenzie Miles said.

According to research, nearly 3 million children will attend a Lifeway Vacation Bible school this summer with about 70,000 making a personal decision to follow Christ. As for trends, Thomas says more churches are starting to customize VBS for greater reach and impact.

“And so we’ll see a lot of churches who are pivoting from a five-day traditional VBS setting to maybe doing that across multiple weeks in the summer for a midweek program. We’ll see them who will do it just in a weekend. Can we do it in three days or four days? Could we do even an all-day VBS?” she explained. “If you’re like me, I remember my VBS, it was all about crafts, and I can remember all of them that I made those kinds of things that we’re still hanging on, the macrame, we’re still hanging on the bird feeder, but now we’re seeing a huge trend toward music being the big thing that speaks to this generation of kids and students.”

‘Heaven Broke Open’: 100+ Inmates Give Lives to Christ

Hundreds of prison inmates at a Mississippi correctional facility praised Jesus and were touched by “the presence of God” earlier this month. As a result, more than 100 incarcerated men gave their lives to Jesus, and more than 50 took part in a spontaneous water baptism, a national prison ministry reports.

God Behind Bars works to restore the lives of inmates by building their faith during incarceration and after their release. Nearly every week, they report on the impact their ministry is having on the more than the two million people locked up in the prison system.

Earlier this month, hundreds lined up in a prison gym at East Mississippi Correctional Facility (MDOC) to hear the testimony of former gang member and ex-inmate Johnny Chang, who was raised in a violent home, and trapped in a gang, but found Jesus in solitary confinement.

“He was looking into the eyes of men who had lived his life,” God Behind Bars said of the former convict turned preacher on Instagram. “As Johnny spoke, you could feel it shift. The room leaned in. Questions poured out—deep, honest, hungry. And when we opened the floor for surrender, men dropped to their knees across the gym.”

“I was drowning in my sin. He’s the lifeguard, and that is why we call him our Saviour,” Chang told the inmates during one message. “I was able to believe that, and all that hope cast out all of the darkness out of my heart.”

“You guys are not what society calls you. You are not what MDOC calls you,” he added. “You are what God calls you, Amen. And He calls you guys righteous, holy, and sanctified.”

When Chang asked who wanted to make Jesus Lord, many inmates immediately responded, some “dropped to their knees across the gym.”

The ministry reports that over the course of two days, transformation took place.

“For TWO straight days, the prison gym was transformed into HOLY GROUND,” the ministry shared in another post. “Men hit their knees…Hands lifted high…Tears poured out as shackles of shame, addiction, and despair were shattered in the presence of Jesus.”

The post continued, “100+ men gave their lives to Christ. 50+ were baptized. Hearts that were once hardened were cracked wide open. Chains fell. Voices roared in worship. FREEDOM reigned. What the enemy meant for destruction, God turned into a revival.”

The impact of worship, the Word of God, and prayer was felt throughout the prison.

In one post, the ministry explained that during one meeting, a volunteer felt prompted by the Lord to walk through the aisles.

“So I obeyed. I started walking, slowly, through the crowd of broken men. Halfway in, I felt a hand grab my shoulder. I turned—and there he was. A young man. Tall. Tears streaming down his face,” reads the post.

NC Church Sees Nearly 200 People Baptized: ‘What a Move of God!’

Almost 200 people were baptized during a Sunday night worship service and a planned outdoor event hosted by Manna Church in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

As CBN News has reported, Manna Church is a multi-campus congregation whose expressed mission is to plant a church near every U.S. military base around the globe.

The church hosted a “Worship & Baptism in the Park” event at Festival Park in Fayetteville and saw 193 people make a public declaration to put their faith in God, as many more gathered to praise the name of Jesus.

“The MOST incredible night at Festival Park. Around 200 people made the decision to go public with their faith through water baptism! What a move of God!” the church said in a Facebook reel.

“I felt really compelled to practice my faith – one of the basic fundamentals of our faith, the sacrament of water baptisms – right out in front of everybody,” Manna Church Pastor Chris Fletcher shared in a video message ahead of the event.

The church pastored by Fletcher is located near Fort Bragg, one of the Army’s largest installations.

In total, there are 33 Manna Church sites near U.S. military bases, as shown in a map on a wall in the church. The greatest concentration of campuses is in North Carolina and Virginia, but multiple locations are growing in other parts of the country, from Florida to Colorado, Missouri to Hawaii, and even overseas.

The vision to equip “His people to change their world” and plant “churches with the same world-changing vision” began with Fletcher’s father, Pastor Emeritus Michael Fletcher.

Chris Fletcher told CBN News last year that God gave his father a vision of how to reach the military almost a decade ago, after the church lost more than 1,100 people to military transfers in just one year.

“And so he kind of sat back in his chair and said, ‘This is crazy. Like how are we going to build a church this way? We’re sending people that God’s beginning a work in, to nobody,'” Fletcher explained, recalling what happened with his dad.

Recently, CBN News took a four-hour drive east from Almaty to the southeastern corner of the country, just a stone’s throw from China, where generations of Uyghurs have lived. Some here still practice ancient traditions like herding horses and sheep across the wide Kazakh steppe grassland.

“We have about 25 Uyghur villages here, quite unreached with the gospel,” Rico, a Uyghur evangelist, told CBN News.

Rico was born and raised in the region. His family spent years in both Kazakhstan and China, reaching out to the Uyghur people with the message of Jesus.

In recent years, the Uyghurs in China have faced severe persecution, including mass detentions, surveillance, and cultural repression by the Chinese government.

“The Uyghurs have been Muslims for almost a millennium, so it’s a mindset that’s been ingrained into their mentality and lifestyle,” Rico explained.

In recent years, though, things have been changing. More and more Uyghurs are discovering Christianity – some through personal transformation, others through the influence of outreach in these rural villages.

There are roughly about 300,000 Uyghurs who today live in this country. Roughly 300 of them belong to the small evangelical community.

Most of those folks live here in this remote part of eastern Kazakhstan.

One of those believers is Gulnisa. She comes from a Muslim background, and for five years, struggled with chronic illness.

“I was unwell and wouldn’t leave my home for 5 years,” Gulnisa told CBN News. “I would read the Quran and pray Muslim ritual prayers and went to mullahs or those that use tarot cards but couldn’t find any help.”

But then, Gulnisa says, something changed. Jesus appeared to her in a dream.

“Jesus himself came to me in a dream,” Gulnisa recounted. “I had something like a ball and white cord in my hand, and it was unraveling, and the road was white, and Jesus said it’s ours. He smiled at me.”

A genuine spiritual outpouring is happening among Gen Z this summer as thousands are hearing the gospel message, making professions of faith in Jesus Christ and answering the call to ministry.

Clayton King, pastor and founder of Crossroads Camp in Anderson, South Carolina, told CBN News he “has personally seen more than 2,000 students give their lives to Jesus this summer.”

He shared a video of their response to the Gospel message, saying, “I watched hundreds & hundreds of students repent and respond to the gospel. The tide is shifting. An AWAKENING is happening.”

Earlier this month, he saw more than 1,000 students worshipping and praising the name of Jesus.

“We as a ministry are super focused on presenting the Gospel in a clear way and are actually telling kids how to get saved,” he said in a 2023 interview. “We not only preach the Gospel in clear and fun ways because it’s camp and kids are supposed to have fun…but we are also focused on giving clear Gospel invitations, just like Billy Graham.”

When asked Thursday if he feels like there have been more young people giving their lives to Christ now, more than in years past, he responded, “Yes. Absolutely.”
