That was one of the most hostile meetings ever between a U.S. president and a visiting head of state.

Trump is continuing to pressure Zelenskyy, writing on Truth Social that the Ukrainian president “…can end the war with Russia almost immediately, if he wants to, or he can continue to fight.”

Zelenskyy responded, writing, “Russia must end this war, which it itself started. And I hope that our joint strength with America, with our European friends, will force Russia into a real peace.”

US Outer Banks Island Evacuated as Cat 4 Hurricane Erin Threatens Dangerous Conditions
A stronger and bigger Hurricane Erin pelted parts of the Caribbean and was forecast to create dangerous surf and rip currents along the U.S. East Coast this week.
It reintensified to a Category 4 storm with 130 mph (215 kph) maximum sustained winds early Monday and moved closer to the Southeast Bahamas, according to the U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami.

Around 5 a.m. Monday, Erin was about 105 miles (170 kilometers) north-northeast of Grand Turk Island and about 915 miles (1,470 kilometers) south-southeast of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina. The storm was moving northwest at 13 mph (20 kph).
The Bahamas government issued a Tropical Storm Watch for the central Bahamas, while a Tropical Storm Warning remained in effect for the Turks and Caicos Islands and southeast Bahamas, the hurricane center reported.

Additional strengthening was forecast for Monday followed by gradual weakening, but Erin was expected to remain a large, major hurricane into midweek.
Hurricane-force winds extended up to 60 miles (95 kilometers) from the center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 230 miles (370 km). The area of strong winds is expected to grow more over the next few days. At that size, Erin will impact coastal areas even though it isn’t forecast to make a direct landfall.

Dare County, North Carolina, declared an emergency and ordered an evacuation beginning Monday of Hatteras Island on the Outer Banks, the thin stretch of low-lying barrier islands that juts far into the Atlantic. Several days of heavy surf and high winds and waves could wash out parts of N.C. Highway 12 running along the barrier islands, the National Weather Service said.
Erin, the year’s first Atlantic hurricane, reached an exceedingly dangerous Category 5 status Saturday with 160 mph (260 kph) winds before weakening.

“You’re dealing with a major hurricane. The intensity is fluctuating. It’s a dangerous hurricane in any event,” Richard Pasch of the National Hurricane Center said.

2,100 Baptized in a Single Day at Pirates Cove in ‘3rd Annual Jesus Revolution Baptism’
Signs of a spiritual awakening are still popping up across the U.S. on a weekly basis this summer, and the latest example was a mass baptism at Pirates Cove in Newport Beach, California, where thousands of believers publicly declared their faith in Jesus Christ.

Laurie, whose personal testimony was featured two years ago in the box office hit “Jesus Revolution,” says some elements of the ongoing revival taking place in America surpass the spiritual awakening of the 1960s and 70s.

Paul an Uzbek leader here says it’s all part of a larger shift. “We are experiencing amazing changes today in Uzbekistan, and it all started several years ago with a new government,” Paul told CBN News.
The change began in 2016, when President Shavkat Mirziyoyev took office and ushered in a wave of modernization and reforms, including increased religious freedom. Christians credit the president for allowing more churches to receive legal permits than ever before.

A local pastor we interviewed confirms the shift. “Today, many Uzbeks are open to hearing about Jesus,” he said. “They want to read the Word of God, they ask us to pray for them, and invite us into their homes.”
In Bukhara, worship pastor Alex leads three house churches. He says music has played a powerful role in helping Muslims open their hearts.
“We are witnessing how God is miraculously touching people’s lives,” he said. “We sit on the floor, share tea, then sing and explain how Jesus touched our lives. Many Muslims then tell us about dreams they’ve had of Jesus.”

Hosted by Pulse Evangelism, the two-day festival is described as the nation’s largest free annual evangelistic outreach and training event. It ran on August 8-9, combining powerful Christian music with evangelism training and moving personal testimonies.

‘We Have Betrayed the Land of Israel’: 20 Years After Jews Forced Out of Gaza Strip, Most Israelis Call Pullout a Mistake
The war in Gaza has been at the top of the news cycle for nearly two years. However, 20 years ago this week, Israel expelled thousands of Israelis from thriving communities in Gaza and northern Samaria in a move that was supposed to bring peace.

In 2005, Israel’s Prime Minister Ariel Sharon uprooted 21 Jewish communities in the Gaza Strip and four in Samaria, or the northern West Bank, forcing ten thousand Israelis out of their homes.
Known as “The Disengagement,” it was a land concession that was billed as the next step to peace with the Palestinians under the auspices of the Palestinian Authority.
Just two years later, the terror group Hamas took control of the Gaza Strip in a violent intra-Palestinian battle for control.

In the ensuing years, Hamas and other terror groups have launched tens of thousands of rockets, carried out many suicide bombings, and dug numerous terror tunnels.
The murder of nearly 1,200 Israelis in the Oct. 7th, 2023, cross-border attack from the Gaza Strip is deemed the worst massacre of Jewish people since the Holocaust. It has prompted many Israelis to call for a return to Gaza.

Avi Abelow from told CBN News, “People actually don’t know Gaza is Jewish. Jews have lived in Gaza, on and off, for thousands of years.”
Gaza is first mentioned in Genesis, and later (Joshua 15) is named as part of the inheritance given to the biblical tribe of Judah.
Abelow notes that even in the early 1900s, Jews were living in Gaza.

“Before Israel was established in the 1940s, there were Jewish communities in Gaza,” Abelow said. “Unfortunately, the British, because they didn’t want to defend the Jews, they basically expelled them. They said, ‘Run away,’ because we were being killed by the pogroms by the Arab Muslims in the late 1920s and the 1930s.”

Far-Right Influencers Turn on Israel, but Is MAGA Truly Divided?
America’s support for Israel has always been strong. While it still is, some far-right high-profile influencers have taken a hard turn against the Jewish State.
“Everything they’re doing is demonic,” podcaster Candace Owens recently said. “I want nothing to do with it. I will never support Israel into the future after what they’ve done to these children, the starvation campaign. I don’t care.”

Others like Steve Bannon and Tucker Carlson want America out of Israel’s affairs. Marjorie Taylor Greene, one of MAGA’s biggest voices in Congress, has called what’s happening in Gaza “genocide.”

Poll numbers also seem to suggest a slight drop in Israeli support among the GOP. Fifteen years ago in 2010, Republican support for Israel stood at 85% . Today it’s still strong, yet down to 75% . The more alarming statistic among Republicans today is that 37% have a negative view of the Jewish State. That’s up 10% from just 2022 when it was 27% .

Part of what’s driving some of this MAGA division is coming from younger voters. It’s a generation that is much more wary of international conflicts and has bought into President Trump’s non-interventionist approach. For example, while 72% of Republicans overall believe America’s military should support Israel, only 32% of Gen Z Trump voters feel that way.

“We need to invest in the United States first,” says Julian Becerra, a conservative influencer on TikTok and owner of Overtime Men’s Health. “I think it’s hypocritical of conservatives to say, yes, we’re for deportations, want to build the wall, seal up the border to put America first, but also say, hold on, because it’s Israel, let’s go ahead and send them billions of dollars.”

New Shroud of Turin 3D ‘Discovery’ Deemed ‘Laughable’
Arguably the most intriguing and controversial religious relic in the world, the Shroud of Turin, is facing major scrutiny from new 3D findings published in the academic journal Archaeometry. CBN’s Raj Nair spoke with Shroud expert Dr. Jeremiah Johnston to break down the controversy.
RAJ NAIR: All right, my brother, let’s get right to the controversy. What is in this new finding?

DR. JEREMIAH JOHNSTON: Yeah, well, I just kind of laugh when it’s being so boisterously said that the shroud has been debunked. What we’re discussing is a Brazilian designer that used a free software that anyone could use, a free 3D software, to attempt to prove that the shroud could never have been wrapped on Jesus’ body. That was the big finding. And of course, that was what was published, rightly as you mentioned, in the Journal of Archeometry. However, media has just absolutely gone ablaze saying that, oh, the shroud, based on this finding, did not cover the body of Jesus. The shroud has been debunked. Anyone who has spent two minutes studying the shroud begins to laugh because this is not a scientific study. This isn’t even a new finding.

The STURP (Shroud of Turin Research Project) team in 1978, which consisted, Raj, as you know, of 33 of the world’s greatest scientists, most of which who were not believers, concluded that the shroud could not have been caused by contact with the body through a scorch or through a bas-relief. And so what Cicero Moraes, the Brazilian designer, is saying, he essentially took a low relief sculpture and he used all this in 3D modeling, okay? And he wrapped the shroud around it and he said, well, this would have caused the mask of Agamemnon effect. Jesus’ body would not have looked so sharp. It would have been so much more distorted. And that’s what his 3D model is pointing out, except he completely ignores the chemistry. He completely ignores all the forensic aspects of what we now know of the shroud. And so it really is laughable to think that this would call into question any of the scientific findings.
It’s interesting that when this big article was released was right during the international conference on the Shroud of Turin in St. Louis, Missouri, where I and many other thinkers, scholars, and those that actually read and create the science and actually attest to it, we were actually studying and having the conference when this thing came out. So the timing is intriguing as well.
NAIR: So in your opinion, this whole 3D statue thing just doesn’t fit the bill?

JOHNSTON: Oh, it doesn’t hold water, not just in my opinion. Let me be very clear. In the scientific findings of the 1978 STURP project, the Shroud research team proved that the image in the cloth that you are showing visuals of, the image in the cloth could not be created through physical contact using a low relief sculpture. It proved that, not through scorching, not through heat. It proved there is no pigment, there is no dye. This is not a man-made image. That is what the scientist proved.
And so the fact, I give Cicero credit, he’s come out with a novel approach while ignoring all of the forensic data saying, hey, it couldn’t have happened. And again, that’s not how we do science. That’s not how we do scholarship. That’s not how I do scholarship. I always, always reproduce my opponent’s findings in their best possible light. That certainly did not happen. He essentially ignored all of the science about the shroud formation and said, oh, here’s how it could have happened. And again, any of us who’ve read about it just kind of laugh about it.

And it gives us a neat opportunity to remind people that the shroud is the most studied artifact in the world. It’s not just a relic, it’s an artifact because you can study it with the physical sciences. But Raj, just to remind you and your amazing audience, it’s also the most lied about artifact in the world. This is an artifact that outside of scripture, it attests to the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. In many ways, the shroud is the fifth gospel and no other artifact does that. It tests to the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus outside of scriptures. And I think that’s why it’s always talked about and always interested in these different claims.

Their film, “Show Me Your Glory,” explores miracles in the modern era, tackling why some moves of God happen and others don’t seem to come to fruition.

“Why are some prayers for healing answered and others … never are?” the description asks, explaining that the documentary “unlocks the possibility that the impossible still happens in our world.”
Eric told CBN News his interest in exploring the miraculous came from reading the Bible after coming to the faith at age 18. As he explored Scripture, new questions emerged.

“I see in the book of Acts how this wild stuff is happening,” he said. “But then I would go to church, and I’m not really seeing this stuff, and I’m curious as to why not.”
As time progressed, Eric said he joined the U.S. Marines and traveled across America. After becoming a member of a charismatic church, his eyes were opened to new dynamics.

“At first … if you’re a skeptical person, I’m looking at the stuff I’m seeing with my own eyes and I’m just like, ‘What am I seeing? Is this real? Are these people being real?’” he said. “And I wanted evidence for myself, and, as I got more involved in this church, and I got closer to the inner circles of the church, and I began to be the guy up there helping pray, I began to see things with my own eyes.”
At that point, Eric realized miracles and moves of God were happening, though he also recognized they don’t happen all of the time or every time they’re requested. Still, people’s testimonies left him totally and completely captivated.
“I think the nail in the coffin for me was when I actually experienced something myself,” Eric said. “And that happened multiple times. So, for me, there’s no longer any doubt whatsoever that this stuff’s happening.”

Both Eric and Kameron witnessed God’s miracles while filming “Show Me Your Glory. Their main editor and assistant director had surgery during production to remove an aggressive brain tumor, showcasing how the Lord uses medical intervention.
