CBN News Report from Tuesday:

The OCPS Florida school district had begun exposing its students to a series of “witchcraft rituals”, and the non-profit legal group had demanded that the school allow students to opt out of watching the presentation.

Liberty Counsel sent a demand letter to Orange County Public Schools (OCPS) on behalf of local community members, requesting opt-outs for the weekly “Witchy Wednesday” video series, which is aired school-wide at a local high school.

“The series, which is aired during mid-week morning announcements, is produced by students providing ‘religious instruction’ on spells, magic, moon worship, and other witchcraft rituals,” attorneys with the legal group explained.

According to the letter, the first video in the series aired on September 10, and the host greeted students saying, “Good morning, witches,” and later gave instructions on how to cast a spell for “Light of Insight.” They also advised students on how to do a ritual “cleanse and recharge yourself.”

Liberty Counsel pointed out that students with sincere Christian religious beliefs would not be able to endorse this religious instruction nor would they be able to sit through it.

JERUSALEM, Israel – Many Israelis have one eye on the news developments as they celebrate the Rosh Hashanah and Yom Teruah or Feast of Trumpets holiday, which ends Wednesday at sundown.

The announcement by several European leaders, Canada, and Australia that their countries would recognize a Palestinian state was tempered by President Donald Trump’s United Nations address on Tuesday.

While French President Emmanuel Macron called for the two-state solution to preserve the “global order,” Trump strongly criticized globalism during his address, insisting, “The entire globalist concept of asking successful, industrialized nations to inflict pain on themselves and radically disrupt their entire societies must be rejected completely and totally – and it must be immediate,” Trump said.

Trump also took to task the leaders who pushed the recognition of a Palestinian state this week. “Now, as if to encourage continued conflict, some of this body is seeking to unilaterally recognize a Palestinian state. This would be a reward for these horrible atrocities, including October 7th, even while they refuse to release the hostages,” the president intoned.

Concerning the war in Gaza, Trump stated, “Instead of giving in to Hamas’ ransom demands, we should be united with those who want real peace and get the hostages back.” He added, “We can’t get one or two; we need everyone, dead or alive.”

“Happy Sunday!” wrote the 39-year-old celebrity in a post to his X account. “I am proud to say I live for Jesus Christ. Who’s with me?”

At the time this story was published, the post had been “hearted” more than 93,000 times and had been responded to and shared thousands of times.

Among those who praised Muniz’s post was “Full House” star Candace Cameron Bure, who wrote, “Let’s GO!!! Praise God.”

Muniz, who stars in “Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair,” an upcoming Disney+ reboot of the original sitcom, has been bold about sharing his Christian faith.

In January, for example, he posted a funny video of himself to Instagram, singing along to the worship song “Build My Life” by Pat Barrett before being pulled over by a police officer.

“Hilarious contrast of feeling good, praising God, to being pissed off in the matter of minutes,” he wrote in the caption of the video. “All part of his plan, so you have to trust the good and the bad. I was going through old photos and videos on my phone and I found these from 5 years ago.”

France Recognizes Palestinian State in Meeting Boycotted by US, Israel as Rosh Hashanah Begins

JERUSALEM, Israel – France and Saudi Arabia led several nations in recognizing a Palestinian state and supporting a two-state solution at a summit in New York on Monday. The United States and Israel boycotted the summit.

French President Emmanuel Macron announced France’s participation, saying, “I declare today that France recognizes the State of Palestine.”

On Monday’s 700 Club, Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon slammed those declarations, calling them a reward to Hamas for their murderous attack on Oct. 7th, 2023.

“It’s shameful,” Danon remarked. “They are rewarding terrorism. We know that it’s an empty declaration. Nothing good will come from those declarations. and they are detached from reality. You know, we still have 48 hostages in captivity. Hamas is still in control of parts of Gaza, and instead of supporting Israel, the only force who is actually fighting evil on the ground, fighting Hamas, (they are) condemning Israel and trying to reward terrorism.”

Danon indicated that Israel’s government will decide which counter-measures to take after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu meets with President Donald Trump next week and then returns to Israel.

France also issued a so-called “New York Declaration,” calling for the Palestinian Authority to lead Gaza after the war and for an invitation for international troops and a U.N. mission to deploy in the Gaza Strip.

‘Nothing Short of Revival’: Athletes at University of Pittsburgh Draw 600 with Gospel Outreach

Athletes behind a growing spiritual movement on the University of Pittsburgh campus say the “presence of God was tangible” during a recent first-of-its-kind evangelistic event last week.

Nearly 600 people attended “Pitt for Jesus” at Mazeroski Field in Oakland, PA, last Thursday to worship, hear the Gospel, and have their lives transformed by the love of God, “Pitt Purpose” reported. By the end of the night, more than 65 people surrendered their lives to Jesus, 80 were baptized, and “countless others experienced freedom from addictions and strongholds right at the altar.”

Pitt Purpose is led by student-athletes and holds weekly Bible studies and prayer meetings, aiming to transform Gen Z lives.

“If God can touch a football team, then He could touch a campus. And if He could touch a campus, we think He could touch a city. If you could touch a city we believe that He could touch a state…if He could touch a state, He could touch a country,” Pitt Purpose founder, Jake Overman, recently told CBN News.

Overman, a red-shirt senior tight end, says the movement began with a God-given vision, expanding over several months to impact hundreds.

He attributes the movement’s momentum to students’ openness, saying, “The harvest here…is good soil,” and he believes hearts have been prepared for this season.

“I think God’s been getting all of their hearts ready for it for many seasons many years and I think now is the time [of harvest],” Overman added.

During last week’s outreach, various ministries teamed up with Pitt Purpose and athletes to spread the Good News of Christ beyond the campus.

“I’ve just been crying for the last couple of days thinking about how God would take a national tragedy like this and turn it around and use it for mass salvations,” Signorelli said.

With young people increasingly turning to faith, the preacher said it seems Kirk’s death has only exacerbated interest in Christianity.

“That’s why he went to college campuses and he fought a spiritual battle, preaching the Gospel,” he said of Kirk. “His martyrdom now has sort of been like … throwing a match on gasoline. And what is the gasoline? The gasoline is the conditions that Generation Z were already in, and this is the spark for a massive fire, a fire of revival.”

Charlie Kirk’s Journey to Jesus: How He Grew in His Christian Faith

Professionally, Charlie Kirk will be known for creating and growing the Turning Point USA movement. However, personally, he made the decision early on that his faith in Jesus Christ would be at the center of all. That decision for Christ came in 5th grade at Christian Heritage Academy.

Breaking NewsSpirit-Filled Stories. Subscribe to Charisma on YouTube now!

“I heard a hot gospel,” Kirk said in a podcast in 2024. “And so I realized the stakes in 5th grade. I’m a sinner, I’m selfish, I’m broken and only thanks to Jesus’s perfect sacrifice, coming and living a perfect life that I get something I do not earn but has been given to me, this free gift of eternal life.”

Another important decision around that time came when his parents left a liberal version of the Presbyterian Church, something he discussed with CBN News six years ago.

“When I was 12 or 13 years old, my parents made the decision, as I and many others started to realize, it became much more about political doctrine and social relativism and theology second,” Kirk explained. “My parents took me out of that church. It was a great decision.”

After high school, when Kirk began forming Turning Point USA, his faith hit a crucial turning point.

“I started to experience real adversity,” Kirk explained to CBN News. “I started to come in a much closer relationship with Jesus Christ and reading my Bible more and becoming more essentially unapologetic about my Christianity because I was given a choice. I could try to descend more into this kind of secular world or reaffirm my faith, and that’s exactly what I did.”

An even deeper connection would begin in 2018 when he first traveled to the Holy Land. He called it a life-changing moment, something Charlie Kirk’s pastor reflected on with CBN News. “His faith was so strengthened there,” says Pastor Rob McCoy. “He would say, you know, it didn’t make the Bible come alive. It made me come alive to the Bible.”
