‘Nothing But a Miracle’: Cops Save Unconscious Man From Burning Car With Seconds to Spare

Police officers in New Jersey recently rescued a man from a burning car in a harrowing ordeal some are calling “a miracle.”

Dashcam and bodycam video captured the moment police approached a burning car on Nov. 9, just before it was totally enveloped in flames.

The driver, Safwan Islam, 26, reportedly had a medical incident that led the car to crash into a tree. After the accident, the iPhone’s “Call After Severe Crash” feature automatically alerted 911 and cops then saved his life, WABC-TV reported.

Fortunately, South Brunswick Police Officers Yash Shroff and Thomas Sites arrived on the scene and immediately took action.

They broke a window after seeing Islam unconscious and bleeding inside the vehicle. It quickly became apparent the situation was serious, as the car began to smoke.

With just seconds to spare, the officers saved Islam. They somehow were able to drag him away from the vehicle — and just in time, as it suddenly burst into flames.

Street Preacher’s Arrest in Mississippi Sparks Supreme Court Case on Free Speech Rights

The arrest of a Mississippi street preacher outside a concert venue has led to a case now before the U.S. Supreme Court. The outcome could shape how citizens challenge local laws they say infringe on constitutional rights.

Gabriel Olivier, an evangelical street preacher, argues that a Brandon, Mississippi, ordinance barring him from certain public property violated his religious liberty and freedom of speech. After lower courts prevented him from challenging the law, the Supreme Court agreed to take up a procedural question that could set an important precedent for future First Amendment disputes.

At the Brandon Amphitheater, where concerts routinely attract large crowds, Olivier says he sees an opportunity to share his faith. “I love to tell people about Jesus,” Olivier said.

He added that he comes to the venue to “hand out gospel tracts to people, tell them about the message of Christ as they are walking to the concert.”

City officials said they received complaints that Olivier spoke too loudly and shouted insults at passersby. They enforced a local ordinance requiring him to stay inside a designated protest zone outside the amphitheater. When Olivier returned to the main walkway, he was cited and fined and received a suspended ten-day jail sentence.

Nate Kellum of First Liberty Institute, which represents Olivier, said the city misapplied its own rules.

She’s the Mother of Cary Grant’s Only Child, but Her Identity Is Firmly Rooted in Being God’s Child

Hollywood icon Dyan Cannon is known for hit movies like Heaven Can Wait and Such Good Friends. But she is perhaps best known for her marriage to the legendary actor Cary Grant. The 88-year-old recently opened up that being a Hollywood starlet in the ’70s wasn’t easy, and it was only after hitting rock bottom that she found comfort in the arms of Jesus.

“I became a movie star with my name above the title. I married a man who was like the most famous man in the world. And that was all good, but it was like a band-aid,” she shared on the podcast God’s Table Hollywood, which she hosts alongside Tracy Bregman, Kym Douglas-Robertson, and Christine Avanti-Fischer.

During an episode where the women shared about how they came to know God, Cannon said she grew up with a Jewish mom and a dad who believed in Jesus, which, she says, was a recipe for trouble.

“I came from a home where there was a lot of turmoil,” she said. “It became a war.”

“When I left home, I said, ‘I don’t want anything to do with You, God. You’re a troublemaker. All You’ve done in my home is cause trouble.'”

Cannon soon met Grant, who was more than 30 years her senior. They married in 1965, had one child, Jennifer Grant, in 1966, and by 1968, the marriage began to disintegrate.

The actress says she did everything in her power to save her marriage, even taking drugs at Grant’s encouragement.

“He thought it was a gateway to God,” she told the Los Angeles Times in 2011. “He thought it was going to help him find peace.”

“I knew I shouldn’t do it, but I did it to please him and to save our marriage,” she added.

Cannon opened up, sharing more details about her marriage with her friends on God’s Table, saying, “I was in a nut house ‘cuz we were doing LSD, lots of LSD.”

The couple eventually divorced, and Cannon said she then tried to ease her pain with pills and marijuana. She suffered a mental breakdown and ended up, as she said, “locked up” in a “nuthouse.”

“Most of my best friends didn’t know about it,” she told the L.A. Times.

She said that several months later, she met some women who began to minister to her. And although she was hesitant at first, she began to open her heart up to God.

And He began to speak to her.

New Evidence Shows UNRWA Working Closely with Hamas

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency, known as UNRWA, detailed the scope of its work in Gaza on Tuesday. Evidence has emerged that the organization works closely with the Hamas terror group.

UNRWA’s report claims that it has rehabilitated its education system and now serves nearly 50,000 children in its schools inside Gaza.

David Bedein, founder of the Near East Center for Policy Research, recently made a presentation to the newly formed U.S. CENTCOM Command Center. He told CBN News what is inside the agency’s core doctrines.

“I told them about the curriculum,” Bedein told CBN News. “The first curriculum ever to promote first-degree murder as the focus, and the delegitimization of the Jews in the land of Israel – the importance of getting rid of them. And this all in their textbooks.”

Bedein also asserts that UNRWA and Hamas have an incestuous relationship.

“I’m saying that they’re the one and the same – UNWRA and Hamas are one and the same, with the knowledge of everyone,” Bedein stated.

‘Eternal Wall of Answered Prayer’ Now Under Construction for Testimonies of Divine Intervention

Construction of a massive monument telling stories of answered prayers is now officially underway in England.

Richard Gamble has broken ground on the 168-foot-tall landmark that’s set to be the largest Christian monument in the nation. And it could actually become the largest in the world because Christ the Redeemer, the iconic statue of Jesus in Rio de Janeiro, stands at 98 feet.

Gamble says “The Eternal Wall of Answered Prayer” began as a vision God gave him of a giant infinity loop made of a million bricks. Each brick will link to a testimony of answered prayer.

While Christianity has been on the decline for years across the U.K., independent evangelical churches, including charismatic and Pentecostal groups, are the one segment of Christianity that is thriving.

Ohio Appeals Court Rules in Favor of Ohio Pastor as City Treats Him ‘as a Criminal’

Ohio’s Sixth District Court of Appeals has ruled that a pastor, who was criminally charged for helping the homeless, can continue to operate his temporary shelter ministry while he continues his fight against city officials to keep his church open.

The State appellate court issued a ruling late last week that allows Pastor Chris Avell of Dad’s Place to operate the church’s overnight ministry, while sending the case back to the trial court.

First Liberty, a non-profit legal group, and other attorneys are representing Avell against Bryan, Ohio, city officials to keep his ministry open.

As CBN News has reported, the City of Bryan attempted to shut down his church due to alleged zoning violations and charged him with a criminal code violation. The Bryan City Zoning Commission claimed that since the church didn’t have bedrooms, it could not house the homeless.

According to the law group, city officials have attempted to shut down the church’s ministry through multiple criminal and civil proceedings, including 18 criminal zoning charges, middle-of-the-night fire inspections, and both criminal and civil fire code prosecutions. And while city officials demand the church install an expensive fire suppression system, the city does not require any of its motels, most of its apartment complexes, or even a senior living facility to install fire suppression systems in their buildings.

“The city’s antagonism is beyond the pale,” First Liberty contends on its website. “Officials have refused multiple times to meet with us and Pastor Chris to resolve the issue. They’ve also made some very discouraging statements about the church, painting Pastor Chris as a criminal and saying that ‘inappropriate activity’ was happening at Dad’s Place.”

Earlier this year, Avell was found guilty on a criminal charge for failing to comply with his city’s fire code. He was fined $200 and given a 60-day suspended jail sentence.

First Liberty Institute and the law firms Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP, Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, and Spengler Nathanson PLL moved forward with appealing an injunction that had shut down the religious activities of Dad’s Place.

Ohio’s Sixth District Court of Appeals agreed to reverse the injunction, writing in an opinion Friday that the “trial court erred in failing to address (Dad’s Place’s) arguments under the Ohio Conscience Clause” and “must remand the case to the trial court for further proceedings.”

Michael Youssef Announces He Will Step Down As Pastor to Pursue Other Ministry Work

Dr. Michael Youssef, the founding pastor of the Church of the Apostles in Atlanta, Georgia, has announced that he is stepping down from his position at the church to pursue other ministry work.

In a personal message to ministry partners posted to YouTube, Youssef, along with his wife Elizabeth, shared that he would step fully into his leadership role at Leading The Way in six months. This decision has been in the works for several years.

“I will be passing the baton in the Church of the Apostles to my son Jonathan,” the 77-year-old announced. “I will be having an opportunity to travel throughout the country and get to meet some of [the ministry’s partners] in person, as well as many opportunities to speak. We’re continuing on Awake America campaign as well as our overseas crusades for evangelism.”

Youssef, a native Egyptian who lived in Lebanon, has led The Church of The Apostles for nearly 40 years—from its first meeting of 28 adults in 1987 to today, with a thriving congregation of more than 3,000 members, according to a statement from the ministry.

The church was founded with the goal of “reaching the lost and equipping the saints.” It later became the launching pad for Leading The Way’s global ministry, which now uses multiple media platforms to reach millions with Youssef’s Biblical teaching.

Youseff says his 41-year-old son Jonathan has been preparing to pastor the thriving Apostles congregation.

“Now that God has raised up my son Jonathan to lead The Church of The Apostles for its next stage of growth, I will be devoting my full attention to Leading The Way,” said Youssef.

“I am deeply thankful to the Lord and know that the best is yet to come. I am also deeply grateful to The Church of The Apostles’ leadership for inviting me to remain in the church as the ‘Founding Rector Emeritus’ — thus helping to ensure continuity,” he continued.

Youssef says he has plans to “take as many people to heaven with me as possible,” and part of that vision includes expanding Leading The Way’s digital ministry, taking his nationwide AWAKE America prayer movement to new cities, launching the next wave of Finding True Peace evangelistic commercials, and hosting high-impact evangelistic events across the Middle East.

“We don’t know how long the door is going to remain open to proclaim the Gospel in the places where we are ministering. So, I’m really putting my foot on the accelerator now. We would love to walk through those open doors as long as God keeps them open. Because if we go to sleep, we will have missed a great opportunity,” Youssef declared.

‘Not Here to Be Spectators’: Worship Leader Kim Walker-Smith Calls the Church Back to Our First Love

Twenty-plus years of ministry as a world-renowned worship leader, recording artist, and champion of God’s transforming love and presence through songs of devotion define Kim Walker-Smith. But it’s prayer for the church that Walker-Smith takes most seriously as a worship leader.

At the recent start of five ministry stops in Canada, Walker-Smith preached a message on worship at a church in America, where she shared details from the tour and her personal testimony, which was featured in CBN News coverage.

Inspiring millions across the globe to encounter God through worship with her voice and leadership, Walker-Smith fits only three churches into her schedule when leaders from them request ministry.

“I feel so much hope and excitement for what God is doing in the church right now. We are seeing so many people come to Jesus,” Walker-Smith told members of in Colorado before a night of praise in British Columbia.

The Testify Tour “Thank you, Canada!” – nights filled with God’s presence, praise, worship, and fellowship with special guest Leeland – included a presentation of the Gospel. In addition to people responding to an invitation to receive Jesus during nightly altar calls, the Body of Christ was hungry for an authentic move of God, Walker-Smith observed.

“I am incredibly thankful for the kindness and faithfulness of Jesus, that He would show up in each of these nights in Canada. He truly met us, and each night was a holy and powerful moment in worship. My heart is so FULL,” Walker-Smith posted on Facebook.

In praying for the Body of Christ, Walker-Smith believes the Holy Spirit brings to her mind the Book of Revelation, where, in the second chapter, Jesus speaks about the church whose Sunday-morning worship is a planned, perfect science that lacks something.

“I don’t just want to stand on a stage and sing songs; I want to partner with [the] Holy Spirit in whatever He wants to accomplish,” Walker-Smith said. “I feel this is the burning message that God is speaking right now. He’s calling His bride to remember first love,” she added.

Sharing her testimony, which includes being filled by the Holy Spirit, speaking in tongues, and growing in worship of Jesus through the witness of a stepfather, as ways Walker-Smith rekindles her first love.

“I believe one of the greatest ways we can remember our first love is to remember who we are as worshippers because – this is my first point – every single one of us is called. Worship is very simply God pouring out His love on us, and we respond to that love by pouring ours on Him,” she said.

20 Christians Beheaded, More Killed by Jihadists in Democratic Republic of Congo, Mozambique

As the relentless massacre of Christians in Nigeria grieves thousands around the world, violence against believers in Mozambique and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is also surging after extremists affiliated with the Islamic State claimed responsibility for slaughtering Christians in the latest spate of jihadist violence. Between both countries, 20 Christians are reported to have been beheaded in recent weeks.

According to the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), the Islamic State Central Africa Province (ISCAP) claimed responsibility for violent assaults on Christian villages in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), where 18 people were beheaded.

A statement released by the terror group on its information channels boasted that during an attack on the Mayba Village, in Lubero Territory of the DRC on November 12th, 12 Christians were beheaded. A similar attack that took place just days prior claimed the “Caliphate’s soldiers” used machine guns in an attack on Mazenze Village in DRC’s northeastern Ituri Province, killing six Christians and burning about 20 homes, according to MEMRI’s Jihad and Terrorism Threat Monitor.

Meanwhile, in Mozambique, four Christians have been killed, including two people who were beheaded, in the Cabo Delgado province of Mozambique, as several others fled villages.

Bishop Alberto Vera of Nacala oversees a diocese in Nampula, where some of the murders took place. He told Aid to the Church in Need that several settlements have been attacked, thousands of people have fled, and hundreds of homes have been set on fire since November 10th.

“It was a week of terror and much suffering,” he described. “Parents and their children had to flee to safer places. Thousands of families are suffering and trying to escape the terrorists. The situation is very confusing, and in some places, most of the houses were burned, and people have been killed.”

As CBN News has reported, violent attacks began in Cabo Delgado Province in 2017. Over the last eight years, the armed insurgency has caused thousands of deaths and triggered a humanitarian crisis affecting over one million internally displaced persons.

According to a recent United Nations report, in just one week, nearly 128,000 people fled from the villages in the Nampula province of northern Mozambique, following new attacks by extremist groups.

“Terror is in the whole district of Memba and also in the north and east of the district of Eráti. Memba is a now deserted city,” Nacala expressed.

CBN News reported in October that more than 30 Christians were beheaded and churches were burned down at the hands of Islamic State terrorists.

Despite the reign of terror and escalating violence, ministry leaders remain committed to pursuing peace and supporting affected communities.
