Stop Saying This One Phrase: Subtle Sin Many Christians Overlook

Many believers assume they’re in the clear when it comes to the commandment, “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain” (Exod. 20:7), simply because they don’t curse or use God’s name in profanity. But the true scope of this command reaches much further than many realize.

As Rabbi Kirt Schneider points out, phrases like “Oh God” are often tossed around in everyday speech. Yet, even this casual use of God’s name may be violating the very commandment we think we’re keeping. Why? Because using the name of God flippantly, without reverence or intentionality, strips it of its sacredness.

In Jewish tradition, God’s personal name, commonly rendered as Yahweh, is considered so holy that it is rarely, if ever, spoken aloud. Instead, names like Adonai, meaning Lord, or Elohim, which means God, are used in prayer and conversation to safeguard the sanctity of the divine name.

This reverence should challenge believers today to reconsider how they speak about God, not just in obvious contexts, but in the subtle moments of daily conversation.

One common way Christians may unknowingly take God’s name in vain is by swearing in His name. Statements like “I swear to God” or “God knows I’m telling the truth” are often said out of habit or emotional emphasis. But Scripture clearly warns against this practice. In Matthew 5:34–37, Jesus instructs, “Make no oath at all… But let your ‘yes’ be ‘yes,’ and your ‘no,’ ‘no.’ Anything beyond this is from the evil one.” Swearing by God’s name to prove our honesty reduces His holiness into a tool for human credibility.

Schneider notes that when we use God’s name it should always be an act of worship or out of sincere reverence. Even spiritual phrases like “God told me” should be used with caution unless we are certain God has truly spoken. Misrepresenting Him, even with good intentions, can veer dangerously close to using His name in vain.

So, how do we walk this out practically?

  1. Examine your words. Are you using God’s name with the awe and reverence it deserves?
  2. Avoid casual references. Treat God’s name as sacred, not as punctuation in your speech.
  3. Say what you mean. Let your “yes” be “yes” and your “no” be “no,” without invoking divine backing.

As followers of Jesus, let’s aim to keep the Lord’s name holy, reserving it for worship, prayer and proclamation. Let’s honor the only One worthy of our praise with both our hearts and the words that come out of our mouths.

What Happens When We Die? Shocking Near-Death Experiences Confirm Biblical Truths

Is there life after death?

In an interview with Michael Knowles, Lee Strobel explores a growing body of near-death experiences, deathbed visions and supernatural encounters that offer compelling, corroborated proof of life beyond the grave.

Breaking News. Spirit-Filled Stories. Subscribe to Charisma on YouTube now!

Strobel began his investigation as a skeptic. But after discovering more than 900 peer-reviewed scientific and medical articles on NDEs, his journalistic instincts were triggered. “This is not fringe stuff,” he explained. “It’s well-documented. And some cases provide evidence that simply can’t be explained naturally.”

One such case involved a woman who was pronounced clinically dead in a London hospital. After being revived, she reported floating above the room and watching doctors try to resuscitate her. More startlingly, she described a red sticker on top of a ceiling fan blade—something invisible from the ground. When staff checked, they found the sticker exactly where she said it was.

Another case Strobel pointed to centered around a nine-year-old girl who had drowned and was later revived in a hospital. She not only drew an accurate layout of the emergency room, which she had never previously seen, but also described in vivid detail what her family did and wore at home while she was unconscious, including what her mother cooked for dinner and the toys her brother played with.

These stories aren’t just anecdotal. In 2009, researchers documented 107 NDE cases with external verification. For Strobel, this points to a key biblical truth: when we die, our spirit separates from our body. “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord,” he quoted from 2 Corinthians 5:8.

Not all NDEs are pleasant, however. Strobel shared the story of Howard Storm, a tenured art professor and avowed atheist who experienced a terrifying descent into darkness, torment and violence. When he cried out to Jesus, he was rescued by a light and forever changed. Storm renounced atheism, became a Christian and now pastors a small church—his life transformed by the experience.

Strobel and Knowles also discussed deathbed visions and terminal lucidity, where dying individuals suddenly become aware, lucid, or reach toward unseen presences. In a New York hospice study, 88% of patients reported such visions before death. Far from hallucinations, researchers concluded these were real and consistent with accounts in Scripture, such as Stephen’s vision of heaven in Acts 7.

Join Charisma Magazine Online to follow everything the Holy Spirit is doing around the world!

Ultimately, Strobel believes these accounts confirm what Scripture has taught all along. “We’re going to be forgotten in this world,” he said. “But that’s not the end. Eternity has been written in our hearts.” The longing for meaning, he argues, is not only natural but supernatural—evidence of a soul designed for something more.

These near-death experiences and supernatural accounts offer compelling evidence that life does not end at death. They challenge us to reconsider our beliefs about eternity and the reality of the spiritual world. Far from mere speculation or fantasy, these testimonies point to a deeper truth: our souls continue beyond this life and that the choices we make now have eternal significance.

John Eckhardt’s Prophetic Word for July: A Month of New Miracles and Divine Completion

What if your biggest miracle is already on its way?

In recent videos, prophetic voice and author John Eckhardt has unveiled what the Lord has been speaking to him about the month of July. The answer? God is doing something new.

Drawing from Isaiah 65, Eckhardt’s message begins with a powerful declaration: “Behold, I create new heavens and a new earth… rejoice in what I create.” This “new” is not merely a change in scenery—it is the birthing of a new people, a new identity, a new era of kingdom living.

Referencing 2 Corinthians 5:17, Eckhardt reminds listeners that those in Christ are a “new creation,” and Isaiah 65 further outlines what life in this new creation looks like: homes occupied by their builders, fruit enjoyed by the one who planted it and prayers answered before they’re spoken. “That’s kingdom living,” he proclaims—living under an open heaven, free from the curse, with the serpent defeated underfoot.

To order John Eckhardt’s book, Prayers That Rout Demons, visit .

But what struck him most was the Hebrew word for “new,” which ties back to the new moon—a marker of a new month, a new season, and a time when trumpets were blown in Israel to announce it. This wasn’t just a cultural tradition; it held deep prophetic meaning. As the trumpet sounded to mark new times and feast days, so do prophetic voices announce new seasons today.

“The trumpet is symbolic of the prophetic word,” Eckhardt explains, referencing Psalm 81:3: “Blow the trumpet at the time of the new moon.” Prophets, like trumpets, sound the alarm, gather God’s people, and declare what God is saying now.

Part of Eckhardt’s message centers on financial breakthrough, as he cites verse after verse that brim of the promises of God. This signals how prophetic decrees from the Word of God unlock divine results. Referencing Job 22:28, Eckhardt reminds us, “You shall decree a thing, and it shall be established.” That is why each word spoken in faith this month is vital. The prophetic is not just predictive. It is creative. As God’s voice is released through His prophets, so too is His power.

As July unfolds, Eckhardt’s prophetic decree is this: the time has come for your “all things new” season. New finances, new grace, new doors, new miracles. Refuse to be tethered to the past. Walk in the fullness of what Christ has provided. Declare it, sow into it and live in the reality of it—a new creature in a new season of blessing, favor and unstoppable increase.

Jonathan Cahn’s Urgent Prophetic Warning: Israel, Iran and the Coming Fire

In a striking prophetic message, New York Times best-selling author Jonathan Cahn warns that recent events involving Iran, Israel and the United States are not random but deeply connected to ancient biblical prophecy, specifically the words of Ezekiel and other end-time scriptures.

Breaking News. Spirit-Filled Stories. Subscribe to Charisma on YouTube now!

Cahn begins by reminding viewers that while Iran’s nuclear facilities were recently struck by U.S. forces, the danger is far from over. Intelligence reports suggest Iran had smuggled enriched uranium to secret locations before the strike and continues to operate thousands of centrifuges capable of producing nuclear weapons. “How much they were set back, we don’t know,” he says, “but it’s doubtful that they lost their nuclear capabilities.”

To order Jonathan Cahn’s new book, The Avatar, visit .

According to Cahn, Iran’s threat isn’t limited to the Middle East. “There are sleeper cells already inside this nation,” he says of the U.S., “similar to 9/11, but Iran is far more dangerous than al-Qaeda.” He notes that Iran’s foreign minister recently visited Russia, which is one of the nation’s foreshadowed in Ezekiel 38–39.

The Bible speaks clearly of Iran, known in Scripture as Persia, as a key player in the last days. Cahn highlights that while many ancient nations have vanished, both Israel and Persia exist today—exactly as the Bible prophesied. The book of Ezekiel describes Persia as one of the nations that will form a coalition to attack Israel after its return to the land. “It says in the last days Persia—Iran—is going to be one of those nations that invades Israel,” Cahn says. “It’s obsessed with destroying the Jewish nation, which is exactly what we would expect.”

Cahn also notes the eerie timing of three earthquakes that struck near Iran’s nuclear facilities just before the U.S. airstrikes. He ties this to Ezekiel 38:19, where God declares there will be a “great earthquake” when the invading nations move against Israel. “Could that have been a warning?” he asks.

Even more sobering is Ezekiel’s reference to fire. The Hebrew word used, shlach, means “to send,” suggesting that fire will be sent from above. “It doesn’t say it’s going to be lit—it’s going to be sent,” Cahn explains. He suggests this could refer to nuclear fire, possibly affecting not only Israel’s enemies but those who “dwell securely in the coastlands,” which could point to America.

Cahn also references the writings of Peter, who foretold that the elements would melt with “fervent heat”—language that may describe atomic destruction. He notes that the Greek word for “melt” means “to be loosed,” a term fitting for what happens in a nuclear chain reaction.

Join Charisma Magazine Online to follow everything the Holy Spirit is doing around the world!

As Cahn mentions, even the word “uranium” may be hinted at in Scripture. Jesus in Mark 13 says the “powers of the heavens” will be shaken. The Greek words dunamis, meaning power, and ouranos, which means heavens, are the roots of “dynamite” and “uranium,” suggesting explosive end-time events.

Whether these recent events are the beginning of something greater or simply a warning shot, one thing is certain: prophecy is unfolding. Cahn’s message is a call to watch, pray and prepare, for the day of fire may be closer than we think.

Amanda Grace’s Powerful Call: Faith Is Required in the Face of Rising Evil

Now more than ever, the church must rise up with faith to see God do the impossible.

In a stirring prophetic broadcast, Amanda Grace issued a sobering alert to the nation, declaring that America is at a tipping point.

“This is a time of extreme faith in the face of madmen,” Grace declared. “The church cannot wimp out in the middle of this.” As darkness intensifies across political, cultural and spiritual fronts she emphasized that believers must rise in boldness, discernment and truth. The church, she said, must take its place as the watchman on the wall.

Grace warned that a dangerous spirit of lawlessness is operating not only in the world but within conservative and even Christian circles. “Evil is attempting to advance,” she said, “disguised as radiant problem-solvers and outspoken champions of the people.”

She specifically addressed the rise of pride and offense, noting how many leaders and influencers have sacrificed integrity on the altar of popularity and power. Referencing a prophetic word from Feb. 20, 2025, she said, “The spirit of Cain has gone out nation…enticing leaders to err in this time and forsake the ways of Abel.”

Tying this warning to Ezekiel’s vision, Grace pointed to a haunting example: “Women were weeping for Tammuz in the temple,” she said, quoting Ezekiel. “Women—out of order—worshiping a false divine son and bringing it among the people.” Tammuz, a Babylonian fertility god, represents the infiltration of false worship and pagan practices into the house of God. Grace warned that this spirit is active again—repackaged in modern ideologies, identities, and cultural compromises.

She emphasized that the church must not confuse true love with indulgent tolerance. “True love doesn’t coddle. It compels us to grow,” she said. Misunderstanding the love of Christ as permission to remain in sin, she warned, only stunts spiritual maturity and makes a mockery of the cross.

Quoting Ezekiel 3, she reaffirmed the church’s call to be watchmen. “If the church comes off the wall, there’s no one left to sound the alarm.” Reflecting on the unpreparedness of the church before 2020, she said, “We cannot afford to make the same mistake again. We must function and war effectively.”

Dinesh D’Souza: Trump Is the Reagan of Our Time

Is President Trump the Reagan of our generation?

On a recent episode of The Dinesh D’Souza Podcast, Dinesh and Debbie D’Souza addressed the week’s biggest headlines—from the New York City mayoral race to Trump’s Iran policy—delivering their signature mix of analysis, conviction and clarity. Dinesh drew a historical parallel between Trump and Reagan: “We’re not going to see Reagan again… And until Trump, we did not have a figure of Reaganite dimensions. And now we do.”

They began with the nomination of Zorhan Mamdani, an Islamic candidate backed by the Democratic Party for mayor of New York. “Some people say that he is a radical Islamist because he supports groups that support Hamas,” Debbie said. “That of course is a terrorist organization, so by default he supports terrorism.”

Dinesh pointed out the deep historical irony: “Almost 25 years ago, New York—well, America through New York—was attacked by Islamic radicals. How ironic that almost 25 years later the mayor of New York just might be Islamic. I mean that is kind of a slap in the face, isn’t it?”

The couple discussed Mamdani’s platform: rent control, free bus fare, replacing police with “departments of community safety” and even city-owned grocery stores. “All I can think about is Hugo Chavez,” Debbie said. “That’s what he did to all of the grocery stores—they became federalized.”

Yet the D’Souzas pushed back on claims that immigration alone explains the candidate’s support. “Cuomo leads Mamdani among voters without a four-year college degree 61 to 39. Mamdani leads Cuomo among college-educated voters 62 to 38,” Dinesh noted. “So think of what an indictment this is of our education system.”

“It’s college-educated whites, especially women, who are voting for this dude,” he added. “Among working-class communities—white or Hispanic or Black—there’s much greater skepticism about him.”

Instead of scapegoating immigrants, Dinesh argued the real issue lies in the ideological indoctrination of America’s youth: “We just need, I think, to gut our education department, reorganize public education, attack these propaganda factories called universities.”

In a social media post, Dinesh summarized his view: “Socialism is the weapon that the elites use to control the distribution of wealth and steal from the working class. And this is what they are ‘educated’ to do.”

On foreign policy, the conversation turned to Iran. Debbie referenced a recent report: “This morning… the atomic energy organization commission said that 900 pounds of enriched uranium are missing from Iran.”

Dinesh noted the shift in media narratives: “CNN went from arguing ‘Oh, they’re not building a bomb’… to conceding that they do have nuclear facilities but you didn’t do a very good job of truly degrading them.”

He praised Trump’s action against Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, stating, “The base is overwhelmingly on one side.” And while some critics fear regime change, he clarified, “The base just doesn’t want us to commit troops to do it. But wanting regime change and sending troops are two different things.”

As radical agendas gain traction in major cities and global threats like Iran’s nuclear ambitions escalate, their message is clear: vigilance, truth and moral clarity are more vital than ever. In an age when history is ignored, education is weaponized and power is redefined, the D’Souzas challenge listeners to stay grounded, informed and unafraid to confront uncomfortable realities—for the sake of the nation’s future.

Rising Lions: Netanyahu’s Prophetic Message for Israel and America

A stark warning is emerging as misinformation spreads about Israel and America, especially as antisemitism has risen in recent years. Much of this disinformation, according to world leaders, is fueled by foreign influence and ignorance on the ground.

“There’s this false narrative going out… particularly through the fake news,” Paula White-Cain warned in an interview with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. She described protests she personally witnessed in U.S. cities: “I would see these protesters that were against America, against Israel… I tried to go up and sometimes speak to a few of them. They had no idea—not a clue what they were even quote unquote protesting. I started thinking, ‘they’re being paid.'”

She added, “It wasn’t nearly as big as the media would make it look. It was a very small handful of people.”

As the discussion turned to foreign players, Iran and Qatar were called out as key funders of anti-Israel activity. “Iran has been sponsoring this,” Netanyahu said. “But Qatar has to choose… You can’t fund the arsonist and the firefighters at the same time. You can’t do that. So you have to choose. Which side are you on?”

The two emphasized the need for the profound bond that exists between the U.S. and Israel. “I think America has no greater friend than Israel, no greater ally,” Netanyahu said. “And Israel doesn’t have a greater ally than the United States. And most of the American people understand that.”

While some worry about younger generations drifting from this understanding, there’s encouragement to be found. “People think that everything that trends… will continue indefinitely,” says Netanyahu.

However, when it comes to the survival of the nation of Israel, Netanyahu notes that the next generation still proudly fights for the country with boldness and courage. “…they fought and fight like lions. Like lions. The Bible says they shall rise like lions—and they did and they do.”

Prophetic Vision Warns of a Mysterious Sea Creature and a Global Shift

Could God be warning His people through unique dreams, visions and encounters?

In a recent prophetic message, Katie Souza shared a vivid spiritual encounter that she believes signals a coming global economic collapse. The key? A mysterious sea creature.

Breaking News. Spirit-Filled Stories. Subscribe to Charisma on YouTube now!

Souza describes being taken in the spirit to a vast ocean, where she witnessed a Loch Ness-style sea monster underwater. Above, she saw freight ships crossing the sea.

“I was taking pictures of the creature, but all I had were the negatives,” she recalled. Later, in a vision of a registration desk, a paper bag bearing the image of the same sea monster flew into her hands. For Souza, this was a clear message: what lies beneath the surface, both spiritually and economically, is about to be revealed.

The Lord spoke the word “reef” to her, pointing her to Acts 27:41, where the apostle Paul’s ship struck a reef where two seas met. Souza explains this is a metaphor for a coming global economic shipwreck, where commerce between the nations, symbolized by oceanic freight trade, will grind to a halt.

“Oceans represent commerce,” she said. “They transport food, machinery, fuel, everything we need to live and survive. God told me a sign would be when a sea monster, like the Loch Ness creature, is discovered or proven real. That will be our warning that a global collapse is coming.”

She backs this up with Psalm 104:25–27, which speaks of ships and Leviathan which are biblically acknowledged as sea creatures. “Even the Bible references sea monsters among the ships. The imagery is both prophetic and literal.”

Souza connects this warning to another prophetic word from Tomi Arayomi, who declared that beginning in 2023, the world entered a seven-year season of supernatural prosperity for the body of Christ that would then be followed by seven years of famine. “This sea sign could mark the shift between those seasons,” she said.

However, there is still hope. Souza urges believers to prepare spiritually and practically. Psalm 112 becomes a blueprint for surviving the coming collapse: conduct affairs with justice, give generously and trust in God. “Even in darkness, light will dawn for the upright,” she said. “We don’t need to fear the bad news if we’re living righteously.”

Join Charisma Magazine Online to follow everything the Holy Spirit is doing around the world!

Practical steps in preparation for the darker days ahead include learning about investments, creating new income streams, growing food and supporting ministries helping the poor and oppressed. Souza emphasizes the importance of generosity during this time: “The more you sow your seed, the more your harvest is going to be.”

She also warns believers not to stay in the same “ship,” or rather the same mindset or business model of old. “In Acts 27, the ship hit a reef and broke apart. If we don’t shift now, we’ll go down with it.”

Souza’s urgent message is clear: discern the times like the sons of Issachar. Prepare during the time of blessing before the storm hits.

“This isn’t about fear,” she said. “It’s about being wise. God is warning us now so we can survive and thrive.”

Is the Tribulation Here? Perry Stone Unpacks Revelation’s Seals and the Coming Storm

Is end times danger already brewing around us?

In a compelling interview on Daystar Television, evangelist Perry Stone dives into the early chapters of Revelation, arguing that key signs of the end, particularly the first four seals, may already be taking shape before our eyes.

Stone begins by highlighting the significance of the seven churches mentioned in Revelation, emphasizing their role in understanding the timing of the tribulation. “The seven churches that He spoke to and their pastors have to be present for those seals to be broken,” Stone explains. He associates the rapture with the resurrection of believers, asserting that the seal judgments will begin only after the church is caught up to meet Christ in the air.

Breaking News. Spirit-Filled Stories. Subscribe to Charisma on YouTube now!

However, Stone adds a crucial caveat. “We could actually be here when the Antichrist is present and when the wars are breaking out,” he warns, noting that the presence of early tribulation signs does not necessarily mean the rapture has already occurred or that the church won’t witness initial chaos.

To order James Lasher’s new book, The Revelation of Jesus, visit .

Stone then walks through the first four seals, often called the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. The first seal introduces a rider on a white horse. This rider, however, is not Jesus, but a deceiver. “He comes with a crown and a bow, but no arrows are mentioned. It’s as though he’s coming as a person of peace… he’s a mimicker of Christ,” says Stone.

The second seal brings a red horse, symbolizing global warfare. “That rider will take peace away from the earth and is given a great sword,” Stone notes. He draws parallels to modern-day nations like Russia and China, whose emblems and policies align with the biblical imagery of the red horse.

The third seal unleashes the black horse, bringing famine and economic collapse. According to Stone, the biblical text indicates that “a loaf of bread will cost you a day’s wages,” underscoring how fragile the global food supply could become. He references current disruptions in farming, food production, and supply chains as early indicators.

The fourth seal introduces a pale, or more accurately, green, horse. “That color in the Greek represents a sickly, deadly green,” Stone explains. “It symbolizes death by sword, hunger and plague.” He connects this imagery to escalating health crises and natural disasters already sweeping across the globe.

Stone also touches on the fifth seal, where the souls of martyrs appear under the altar in heaven. “These are the people who didn’t take the mark of the beast and who were dying in the tribulation period,” he says. He clarifies that this doesn’t prove the church is still on earth, but rather confirms that others are coming to faith during this period and paying for it with their lives.

Join Charisma Magazine Online to follow everything the Holy Spirit is doing around the world!

As chaos builds globally, Stone challenges believers to remain watchful. “Things are getting worse with each seal,” he says. “It’s a progression, one thing leads to another.”

Though Stone leans toward a pre-tribulation rapture view, his analysis leaves room for the possibility that the church may experience the early rumblings of judgment. As global tensions rise and prophetic signs intensify, believers are urged to stay spiritually alert. Whether we are on the threshold of the tribulation or already in its early stages, the message is clear: now is the time to draw close to Christ, stand firm in truth and live ready for His return.

7 Prophetic Altars That Attract God’s Presence and Power

In a time where anxiety, pressure and striving rule much of the world’s pace, God is inviting His people to return to the ancient practice of building spiritual altars, not of stone, but of habits, systems, and intentional surrender that host His presence and power.

In a recent video on “The Deep End with Taylor Welch,” Welch identified seven different structures that every Christian should build up in their life to see God work in wonderful and miraculous ways.

1. The Altar of Generosity

Generosity is more than a good deed. It is a spiritual principle that dismantles self-reliance. When we give freely, we break the altar of self-provision and activate supernatural multiplication. Scripture is clear: “Give, and it will be given to you…” (Luke 6:38). Even secular billionaires have experienced this principle at work. Generosity sends a signal into the spirit realm and invites God’s abundance.

2. The Altar of Protection

We should all be asking the question: who is your protector? Yourself or God? Many live under the altar of self-defense and grind culture, constantly striving to stay ahead. But the altar of God’s protection invites peace. Romans 8:31 declares, “If God is for us, who can be against us?” When you choose God as your protector, you can move forward without fear, trusting in His sovereign covering.

3. The Altar of Worship

Worship is not limited to a genre of music. Instead, it’s a lifestyle that changes atmospheres. True worship releases God’s fire into your situation. It breaks chains prayer alone cannot. Whether at the piano, in your car or at work, worship builds a dome of God’s presence around your life. As you worship, enemies in the spirit realm lose their grip because nothing can withstand the fiery presence Jesus.

4. The Altar of Contentment

In a world of constant craving, the altar of contentment says: “If I have Jesus, I have everything I need.” Rooted in John 15, building up this altar is about removing the pressure of performance and realigning your heart with the Father. When you build this altar, you’re no longer guided by cost-benefit analysis, but by obedience.

5. The Altar of Stewardship

Ask God not just what He wants you to do, but what He wants you to get good at. This altar is about developing skills and stewarding curiosity so you’re ready for the next season. God often leads by placing divine curiosity in your heart. Follow that, and you’ll find yourself exactly where He wants you.

6. The Altar of Purity in Government and Culture

God is raising up voices of purity in politics, public service and culture. This altar is a prophetic call for those positioned in these spheres to carry truth, righteousness and courage in a compromised world.

7. The Altar of Education

Education shapes the future. God is calling believers to influence the classroom with truth, wisdom and revelation of Christ as Lord of all. This is to help ensure that heaven’s perspective is present in the minds of the next generation.
