New TV Program Reflects on the Life and Ministry of Billy Graham

Whether in his boyhood hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina, or on the global stage, Billy Graham and his message remained the same. For more than 80 years, God used Billy Graham to preach the gospel around the world with clarity and authority. But it wasn’t without its challenges. Watch how this humble evangelist responded to criticism, faced his fears, and remained committed to proclaiming the truth in the new Billy Graham TV program, “The Message Lives On.”

Billy Graham preached to nearly 215 million people in live audiences, more than anyone else in history. When he died in February 2018, the world once again heard the same message that he proclaimed for all those years – the message of Christ’s love for all people. “The Message Lives On” explores the simplicity, the challenges, the strength and the future of the message that Billy Graham wanted to share with the whole world.

“He was an evangelist who was called to preach the gospel,” said Billy’s son Franklin Graham, president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. “Whatever it takes to communicate the truth of God’s love, that’s what we’re going to do, and we’re not going to back up. At the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, we’re going to keep preaching and proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ.”

Watch the Billy Graham TV program “The Message Lives On” online at or check your local listings for broadcast dates and times, now through Dec. 2.

About the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association: The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) proclaims the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ throughout the world by every effective means available. Humility Is Surrender to God

Humility Is Surrender to God

Humility is not what we usually think. It is the Biblical spirituality which opens us up to the inner peace and strength that comes only from God. It is primarily vertical and it establishes our relationship with God. Humility is not one of the fruits of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23; but it gives us access to the fruit of the Spirit, and increases it. We need a humble and contrite heart for this. God says “I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones” (Isaiah 57:15).

Humility is best described in 1Peter 5:5-7 when Peter tells us to “be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time, Casting all of your care upon him; for he careth for you.” This introduces the added element of casting all of our care on God. When I did this many years ago, it immediately produced the most transforming experience in my life.

I believe that when we are told to trust in the Lord with all of our hearts and not lean on our own understanding, it is telling us the same thing (Proverbs 3:5). This also true of when Christ speaks of losing one’s life, or denying or disowning oneself in Matthew 16:24-25.

There is some relaxation that comes from other spiritual practices such as Yoga and breathing exercises; but it is not sustained by God because they do not include Him in the process even when they are Christian coated. They don’t include resting in God. They leave us within the realm of a peace that we can muster only on our own strength, and which is only within our own understanding. It comes and goes. Psalms 55:22 tells us to “Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved”. God brings us a peace that He also sustains.

God wants us to be anxious for nothing in order to get His peace that passes all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7). Are we really not supposed to worry about anything at all? The world tells us to worry about the things that we can control, and not worry about the things that we can’t. The Bible tells us that we shouldn’t worry about anything. This sounds extreme to most people, even Christians; but this is what brings us Divine peace and strength because God is the object upon which we release all of our cares. This brings Him into every aspect of our lives. It opens us up to Christ’s rest (Matthew 11:28). God responds to our act of unconditional trust by giving us grace. Pride is presented as the opposite of humility; and God resists the proud.

I got my first primal glimpse of this spirituality was I was about 19 years old. I was going through a period of a scrupulous conscience; always worried about whether I was sinning and displeasing God. During this period I went into the Bible and stumbled upon the account of the lilies of the field in the gospels (Matthew 6:25-34). When I read it, it sounded like it was telling me that I wasn’t supposed to worry about anything at all in order to please God. I had never heard of this before in the Christianity that I grew up with. I had been worried about everything, thinking that I was pleasing God. Because there was no support for this kind of thinking, I didn’t go with it at the time; but I never forgot it because I was very attracted to it. About 10 years later, I realized that I had not misread it.

The Holy Spirit is the vehicle of God’s grace when the Spirit inhabits us. The fruit of the Spirit contains both peace and strength (temperance). Isaiah 26:3-4 says: “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the LORD forever; for in the LORD God is everlasting strength”. Unconditional trust in God is the spirituality of both the Old and the New Testaments.

The Healing of Two Nations

Republic of Georgia

We believe that every Christian should go on a mission trip. Why? Because there is something miraculous and life-changing that happens when one person shares with another person what God has done in their life. It’s that moment when you look into another person’s eyes and experience a deep spiritual connection as they hear the words of God leave your lips and feel them penetrate their heart the same way they did yours when God spoke them to you.

If you want to experience a true move of God, see your faith reach another level and make an eternal difference in the lives of the people who have suffered much, you have a unique opportunity to fulfill this calling. March 12-20, 2019, you are invited on a strategic mission to the country that is still largely unknown to the world yet has been named by Forbes Magazine among the top must-visit travel destinations. Republic of Georgia is the country of lush vineyards and orchards, snow-capped Caucasus mountains and the palm tree-lined coast of the Black Sea. It is also the country that adopted Christianity in the 4th century. One can see ancient churches and fortes dotting the mountain ridges. In 2008, Russia invaded Republic of Georgia, and the short five-day war caused destruction, left many people homeless, and caused many children to become orphans. Today Georgia is rebuilding itself as a travel destination, but its people, though they know of Jesus, are in desperate need to know Him. Your faith, your personal testimony and your unique ministry calling can give hope, new meaning and the truth to the people who have suffered so much.

Not only will you introduce the Georgian people to the personal relationship with Christ, but you will also have an opportunity to reach the Kurdish minorities who are still largely unreached today and practice a pagan religion worshipping Satan. Very few Bibles are available in the various Kurdish dialects but we have access to the Kurdish Bibles, and you will have a chance to hand a Bible to someone who has never held one before.

One of the important outreaches will be the medical clinic for the Kurdish minorities. Due to extreme poverty, many of them do not have access to medical care. Whether you are a medical professional or an intercessor, your help can be invaluable in this mission.

Armenia

The second part of the mission will take place across the border in Armenia March 20-28.

Armenia is a beautiful little nation that has suffered greatly for its faith at the hands of Muslim and pagan invaders. The famous mountain of Armenia, Mount Ararat, according to Genesis 8:4, is known as the place of the landing of Noah’s Ark. Not surprisingly, Armenia was one of the first countries to adopt Christianity as the national religion. This very sacred symbol of Armenia was taken over by Turkey, and many Armenian people died from the Turkish genocide in the early 1900s. Shortly after Armenia was overtaken by the Communist regime, the people were forbidden to believe in God and things stayed that way for 70 years. You have the opportunity to take the message of hope and light to the Armenian people.

There is no other feeling like it—giving someone the light that brought you out of darkness. You can go just to one of these to nations or both—we just want you to experience a journey that will not only radically change the lives of others but will also deeply impact yours!

Chuck and Helen Toddfounders of World Missions Alliance, have been serving in the Great Commission since 1991. They have successfully shared the gospel message in the world’s most dangerous and difficult places, organized over 300 life-changing mission trips, and have given thousands of Christians an opportunity to fulfill the Great Commission through short-term missions.

RT Kendall Reveals 5 Facts About Demon Possession

Casting out demons is not a game. It is not fun. It is serious, serious business. In this article, I want to unfold five fundamental truths regarding the demonic that one should be aware of.

1. Demon Possession Is Real

Make no mistake, evil spirits possess some people. The devil would prefer that you believe that he does not exist at all. But if some demand proof, look no further than seeing a person possessed by the devil.

That said, there is a difference between demon possession and demon oppression, although it is not so easy to explain. In a word, oppression comes from without; demon possession comes from within. The devil can—from outside you—put oppressive suggestions into your mind. If you do not reject these thoughts immediately, they will find a place in your mind that militates against your joy and peace.

It is my pastoral judgment that people who are depressed are more likely oppressed by the devil, but not possessed. Overcoming this state comes by resisting the devil. Here are three Rs regarding the devil:

Recognize the devil’s suggestion. It will be something negative and fearful.

Reject all negative thoughts and all fear. Refuse to think about such.

Resist negative thoughts. Don’t give in to them.

Keep it up. The devil will see he is getting nowhere with you and will leave you. These things said, there is a place for responsible counseling if you can find a godly person who is competent to do this. I myself have had some counseling over the past number of years, and I thank God for it. See your pastor or church leader who can advise you.

Demon possession is a state whereby one is virtually controlled by an evil spirit or demon. Two demon-possessed people who met Jesus were so violent “that no one might pass by that way” (Matt. 8:28c). The man described in the Mark 5:1-20 was so violent that no one could bind him, even with a chain. He had often been chained hand and foot, but “he had pulled the chains apart and broken the shackles to pieces” (v. 4b). Living in tombs, he would cry out and cut himself with stones (v. 5).

When I say “virtually controlled by Satan,” it is because a demon-possessed person at least has the presence of mind to want help: “When he saw Jesus afar off, he ran up and kneeled before Him” (v. 6). Had he been totally controlled by Satan, he would not have been able to run to Jesus.

This shows that demon-possessed people want help. They may seem to be people who do not want help. They can be obnoxious. But they need help and want help if it is right there in front of them.

That said, demon possession is probably cured by only two things: a responsible person who has the gift of the Holy Spirit to cast out demons and total forgiveness.

Even if a demon has been cast out, one must immediately practice total forgiveness or the devil will return with seven more spirits that are more wicked, “and the last state of that man is worse than the first” (Matt. 12:45b).

At the end of the day, total forgiveness is the way forward. The devil cannot dwell long in a person who has been completely eradicated of bitterness.

Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones told me what to do when you come face to face with a demon-possessed person. He said first, pray for your own protection, then start repeating aloud, “Jesus Christ is come in the flesh,” and then prepare for a violent reaction. How right he was.

2. Casting Out Demons Is Not a Game

The apostle Paul showed great wisdom when it came to this matter. Whereas there may be some who see a demon in every bush and rub their hands with glee at the prospect of confronting a demon-possessed person, Paul was the opposite.

Acts 16:16-18 (NASB) says, “It happened that as we were going to the place of prayer, a slave-girl having a spirit of divination met us, who was bringing her masters much profit by fortune-telling. Following after Paul and us, she kept crying out, saying, ‘These men are bond-servants of the Most High God, who are proclaiming to you the way of salvation.’She continued doing this for many days. But Paul was greatly annoyed, and turned and said to the spirit, ‘I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her!’ And it came out at that very moment.”

Why did Paul not exorcise the demon the first day? Perhaps he wanted to be absolutely sure that the slave girl was demonized and not mentally ill. Or perhaps she did not sufficiently interfere with his ministry at first. Or perhaps Paul wanted to be sure the demon was sufficiently agitated. It is possible that a demon-possessed person could have an evil spirit that lies dormant, as it were. This would be when the evil spirit in a person is not sufficiently stirred up. Such a person whose demon is not angry or annoyed might not be a candidate for an exorcism at a particular time. One must probably wait until the evil spirit manifests.

This may be why Paul waited. If the demon was therefore not sufficiently agitated, Paul would almost certainly have ignored her. But he waited. He showed great patience. He eventually became “greatly annoyed.” And then he cast the demon out. It is a lesson for people who are in this kind of ministry to learn.

3. Demons Dwell in the World of Tartarus

The angels are in chains awaiting the day of judgment. But despite their chains, they were free to roam with limitations in order to do damage to the gospel of Jesus Christ. This shows that God permitted them to exist in this way.

Why would God allow this? I can only answer: His ways are higher than our ways, His thoughts higher than our thoughts (Isa. 55:9). We cannot figure everything out. This means also that the world of Tartarus—an invisible world—is all around us. For that reason, you and I should pray continually for protection against the devil and his fallen angels. Do you pray for protection? You should.

The devil and his angels are in Tartarus as punishment for their revolt against God. They left their home in glory for a home in “gloomy dungeons” (2 Pet. 2:4, CJB). They are in “darkness” (Jude 6, MEV). After the day of judgment they will be sent to “eternal fire, prepared for the devil and his angels” (Matt. 25:41). They know that the time is short, and in the meantime they are “filled with fury” (, NIV).

They are angry, fearful and vengeful, hoping to take billions to everlasting hell with them. Their goal is to enter high places and influence those who control government, entertainment, sports, education, money and politics. They want to stop the gospel from being proclaimed.

Whenever they can, they enter human beings created in the image of God because of their hatred for God and His Son. That is the background for demon possession.

The world of Tartarus is a strange, invisible and largely unknowable world. I say it again: Don’t try to figure it out. God has told us all we need to know.

4. Casting Out Demons Is Not for Everyone

The ministry of casting out demons is dangerous business. It is fraught with all kinds of testing and potential danger. It is not for children. If you can do anything else, do it.

The sons of Sceva thought it was fun to go around casting out devils. They seemed to know how to find demon-possessed people, and they went up to them to see what might happen. They had a liturgy they thought would work: “In the name of the Jesus whom Paul preaches, I command you to come out” (Acts 19:13).

The sons of Sceva probably learned this liturgy from Paul. Paul’s way of doing this was to say, “In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!” (Acts 16:18). So they added “whom Paul preaches” (Acts 19:13). What is more, what they did was almost certainly trying to make fun of Paul. These were Jews who hated Paul. But they apparently derived one thing from Paul—there was power in Jesus’ name. They seized the notion of Jesus’ name and decided to see if it worked. But it backfired.

The demon-possessed man instead had an unexpected violent reaction—and unusual strength. He overpowered the sons of Sceva and left them naked and bleeding. There is no sign that a demon or demons ever left the poor man who got the liturgical treatment.

The folly of the seven sons of Sceva is a lesson to all. When it comes to the ministry of casting out devils, “no trespassing” is the rule of thumb. This ministry is only for the Christian—but the fully committed Christian. It is not for the novice, the uneducated or the immature. The ministry of casting out demons is not only for the Spirit-filled but also for one with wisdom. You can be Spirit-filled and lack wisdom. This is why the initial qualifications for the first deacons were for men who are “full of the Holy Spirit and of wisdom” (Acts 6:3b, MEV).

The seven sons of Sceva were not even Christians, not to mention being Spirit-filled or men of wisdom. They were foolish men. So will you be if you enter such an arena as this if you are not called of God to do so.

5. There Is Power in Jesus’ Name

Think about this: the unbelieving Jews who wanted to use the name of Jesus—having no devotion to Christ whatsoever—brought on a demonstration of the demonic they were not prepared for.

They had the liturgy down to the letter. Their problem was to underestimate the sheer power of that name.

Two things followed. First, the evil spirit answered them. I don’t think they were expecting that. He answered them, “I know Jesus, and I know Paul, but who are you?” (Acts 19:15).

Second, their invoking of the name of Jesus got another astonishing response: The demon-possessed man jumped on them and overpowered them all. He tore off their clothes, leaving them naked and bleeding. That came merely from the use of the name, even if they were trying to have fun.

Think about this too: If unbelieving Jews can invoke the name of Jesus and cause such a stir, how much more power should we believers have in invoking the name of Jesus?

These Jewish would-be exorcists had no knowledge of the existence of demons that are not only conscious but knowledgeable of things going on in our world. But for some reason, their invoking Jesus’ name raised the curiosity of these evil spirits.

All the inhabitants of the satanic world were very aware of Jesus. He was famous throughout the world of Tartarus. And the evil spirit quickly recognized the name of Paul when his name was brought into the liturgy. But the evil spirit was unafraid of the men who tried to exorcise it. The question is: Does the world of Tartarus know about you and me? Jesus was famous in hell. Paul was famous in hell. But are you and I known in hell?

I want to be famous in hell. I fear that the evil forces of the demonic world are not aware of me at all. {eoa}

Is God Calling You?

Perhaps you have felt the call of God on your life to reach the nations. You read the news and watch the difficulties in this world, knowing that Jesus Christ is the only answer. Maybe you feel the tug of God on your heart to teach others how to deepen their relationship with Him. In Isaiah 6:8 God asks: “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Isaiah answers, “Here am I. Send me!”

God has confirmed in your heart that you are called to go on a mission trip. The question: how, when, where and why all cross your mind.

The word Argentina means silver. Today, Argentina is in need of a spiritual revival. The Lord has called you to this beautiful nation as the “refiners and purifiers of silver” to partner with the local churches in evangelism and leadership training in the churches.

World Missions Alliance reaches the lost and hurting in this world. We provide Christians the opportunity to fulfill the Great Commission in a well-organized and safe travel environment.

Our next trip is to Argentina!

Here, WMA will hold evangelistic services, church leadership seminars, perform children’s and youth ministry and participate in Bible distribution.

Intercessory prayer will also be an important part of our ministry. Argentina is difficult soil for mission work, but the Lord has called us and prepared the way. We look forward to reaching the ends of the earth for Jesus.

You can be a part of:

  • Fulfilling the Great Commission. Acts 1:8 urges us to take the Good News to the uttermost parts of the earth. One of our destinations in Argentina is Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world, officially called the “end of the world.” This beautiful, remote area needs the light of Christ.
  • Providing locals with the opportunity to learn about a personal relationship with Christ. Many people in Argentina come from a Catholic background. Although they believe in Jesus, they don’t realize how rich our lives can be when we know Him personally. You have an opportunity to radically change someone’s life this message.
  • Encouraging the local church. Sharing inspiring testimonies, praying for the pastors and leaders, providing them with spiritual teaching are vital for the local evangelical church to continue to grow in numbers and strength.
  • Handing someone their first Bible. You have an opportunity to change someone’s life by giving the most priceless gift ever—the Word of God. Bible and gospel tract distribution is always an important part of our ministry
  • Learning and experiencing a new culture. You will experience firsthand the rich culture, breathtaking beauty and incredible cultural heritage of Argentina and experience the warm hospitality of its people.

Here is a recent testimony:

“World Missions Alliance (WMA) has been an excellent evangelism organization to prepare and support our desires to reach the nations. Shelia, a pastor’s wife, felt the urgent call to missions. Through her prayerful obedience, God’s people sent the funds needed for her to visit over 19 different nations with WMA since 2014.”

–Gwen D. Reed, River of Life Christian Fellowship

The Two Faces of Thailand

Thailand is a nation where only 1 percent of the population is Christian! You have an opportunity to change that statistic.

Thailand is a breathtakingly beautiful kingdom in Asia and is a land of sharp contrasts. On the one hand, you are greeted with the warmest smiles and hospitality and surrounded by tropical beauty. On the other hand, you witness deep and dark issues like poverty, human trafficking, drug trafficking and prostitution that have plagued this nation for years and can be only resolved by the light of Christ. If these issues are close to your heart and if God has called you to take the Great Commission to Asia, you can be a part of this important mission Nov. 30-Dec. 10, 2018!

World Missions Alliance has a unique open door in Thailand to work in the famous Golden Triangle, in the mountains of Northern Thailand, with the hill tribe, the most oppressed and vulnerable people group in the nation.

A 2013 article in the Bangkok Post said that “nearly a million hill peoples and forest dwellers are still treated as outsiders—criminals even, since most live in protected forests. Viewed as national security threats, hundreds of thousands of them are refused citizenship although many are natives to the land.”

Here are some recent statistics about the hill tribe people and Thailand:

  • The average hill tribe person lives on less than $1 U.S. a day—this is 12 times less than what an average Thai citizen lives on.
  • Many Thai schools do not accept hill tribe children, and in cases where they do, the children are given little support with the costs of schooling and materials.
  • 1 of every 3 sex workers in Chiang Mai (Thailand’s second biggest city) comes from a hill tribe family.

We have an opportunity to reach out to these people in the northernmost city of Thailand, Chiang Rai, and work with local churches, orphanages and the drug rehabilitation center.

We need preachers, teachers, counselors and those who feel called to women’s ministry to be able to minister love, forgiveness and hope.

Doctors, nurses and other medical professionals are needed for the medical clinics to be held for the hill people who can’t afford medical care otherwise. Medical clinics are an excellent opportunity not only to meet physical needs but also introduce hill people to the healing power of Christ.

Chiang Rai today is known as a lovely and quiet destination to explore the beautiful nature, authentic Thai foods and the lifestyle of the native tribes. But in the 1970s, it was part of the Golden Triangle, the drug trade and the home base for drug lords.

We need strong prayer warriors and intercessors on the team to pray over the area and bring down generational strongholds in the spiritual realm.

Seventeen days after we left Chiang Rai, twelve boys and their soccer coach were trapped in the flooded caves in the mountains just outside the city. The whole world watched in amazement the spectacular rescue that took 18 days and the miraculous survival of the entire group!
We see this miracle as God’s promise to the entire nation of Thailand – ” I will rescue you, I will save you, I will protect you”

Could You Be the Solution to the Refugee Crisis?

Imagine you are a parent of a little child and have no milk to give to the baby. You live in a foreign country without any rights or privileges and without any hope of change in your life. Your baby is crying but you can’t comfort her, so you cry out in despair :”God, if You exist, please give me milk for my child!”

Several weeks ago WMA team was in Beirut, Lebanon. They visited a home of a refugee woman from Syria, who had just asked God to provide milk for her hungry baby. Our team had been scheduled by the local church to visit a different household, but due to a “glitch” in the schedule they ended up in her home. When she found out that these were believers from the U.S., she shared with them her prayer. Immediately one of our team members went to the store and bought the milk. Such instant answer to her prayer showed her who the true God is!

Another powerful encounter was with a young Syrian teenager, who converted from Islam while still in Syria. His family spent months looking for a Bible. They traveled to neighboring villages in hopes of someone selling them a copy. They finally received their first Bible when they fled to Lebanon as refugees.

These are just two of many stories we have experienced during our ministry in Lebanon!

The need for evangelism in Beirut is extremely urgent. We see large numbers of Muslim refugees accepting Christ. Most of them are women—their husbands have to work long hours earning minimum wage just to pay rent for the dismal housing infested with mold. They don’t have the chance to attend Bible studies and church meetings, but the women are true evangelists. As soon as they receive Jesus, they share the Good News.

We are returning to Lebanon Oct. 30—Nov. 9 and we need help. We urge anyone who has a heart for the desperate, a vision for the Middle East or just the passion to share Christ to prayerfully consider this invitation.

We also need medical professionals, doctors, nurses and so forth to hold a medical clinic in our partner church and give the refugees access to medical advice and medicine.

Our last clinic treated 192 refugees in just five days! {eoa}

Do You Remember Your First Bible?

Do you remember the time when you received or purchased your first Bible? Can you imagine living in a country where Bibles were forbidden for over 70 years?

World Missions Alliance works in 20 nations, and in most of them, Bibles are either not available or are difficult to purchase. Today, in the 21st century, there are still people in the world who have never held a Bible.

Helen Todd, co-founder of World Missions Alliance, was one of them as she grew up in the former Soviet Union. She received Christ through a gospel tract smuggled into the country by missionaries and received her very first Bible five years later!

Moldova, a former Soviet Republic, is one of the nations where World Missions Alliance works. It is considered the poorest country in Europe. Poverty, human trafficking and hopelessness are what the Moldovan people face as their daily reality.

On one of our trips to Moldova, we handed a Bible to an elderly woman in a nursing home. She broke down in tears. She had dreamt of having one since she was a child and had given up hope.

A simple gospel tract changed Helen Todd’s life and destiny, imagine what you can do for someone by placing the Word of God into their hands.

Help us give hope and change lives in Moldova!
