A federal court has ruled that the Oakland Unified School District (OUSD) must allow a Christian after-school program the same access to school facilities as other non-religious groups.

The ruling, issued by U.S. District Judge Haywood S. Gilliam, Jr., grants a preliminary injunction in favor of the Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) and its Good News Clubs, which had been denied access to four district campuses.

The decision comes after CEF, represented by the legal organization Liberty Counsel, filed suit in Dec. 2024, arguing the district had engaged in religious discrimination. According to court documents, school officials had delayed or denied CEF’s applications over a two-year period, claiming lack of space, failure to approve community partnership applications, and direct objections to the group’s religious content.

Judge Gilliam sided with CEF, writing in the order that “the law and facts clearly favor” the group’s claim that the district violated its free speech rights. The court found that OUSD’s actions were not only discriminatory but also in conflict with established constitutional law.

“OUSD is simply wrong as a matter of well-established law,” Judge Gilliam stated in his ruling, rejecting the district’s argument that allowing religious clubs would violate the Establishment Clause. The court noted that since Good News Clubs are held after school, are not school-sponsored, and require parental consent, they are protected under the First Amendment.

Although Hurricane Erin is not predicted to make landfall along the East Coast, the storm is expected to have widespread impacts.

A Monday advisory from the National Hurricane Center warned of “life-threatening surf and rip currents along the beaches of the Bahamas, much of the east coast of the U.S., Bermuda, and Atlantic Canada during the next several days.”

The advisory warned of tropical storm conditions and coastal flooding beginning on Wednesday in North Carolina’s Outer Banks.

“Many of you may assume that with the offshore track of Hurricane Erin over the next several days that there will be little to no impacts to the East Coast of the United States,” National Hurricane Center Deputy Director Jamie Rhome said in a post on X.

“Nothing could be further from the truth for portions of the Mid-Atlantic, especially the Outer Banks of North Carolina.”

He said that on Wednesday and Thursday, “breaking waves of 15 to 20 feet, plus coastal flooding and storm surge could overwash dune and flood homes, flood roads, and make some communities impassable.”

Evacuations have already been ordered along the Outer Banks, with officials warning that the road connecting Hatteras Island with the mainland could soon be underwater, according to USA Today.

Early Tuesday, Erin had sustained winds of 115 mph, making it a Category 3 storm. Gusts hit up to 155 mph.

Current predictions estimate the storm will pass between Hatteras Island and Bermuda on Thursday before heading northeast out to the Atlantic Ocean.

Some of the impacts of the storm were felt Monday.

Officials in New Hanover County, North Carolina, said at least 75 rip-current rescues took place Monday on North Carolina’s southern coast, leading to a no-swim order through Friday at Wrightsville Beach, according to CNN.

Cape Hatteras National Seashore officials were warning vacationers that this was the time for caution.

“The Coastal Flood Watch indicates that extreme beach erosion and coastal damage is likely along the oceanside, resulting in a significant threat to life and property. Large, dangerous waves will likely inundate and destroy protective dune structures,” it posted on its website.

“Severe flooding will likely extend inland where there is vulnerable or no protective dune structure, flooding homes and businesses with some structural damage possible. Roads will likely be impassable under several feet of water and vehicles will likely be submerged,” the site warned.

“Life-threatening swimming and surfing conditions are expected, as well as wave action resulting in significant beach erosion,” the warning continued. “Visitors should stay off the beaches completely and discontinue use of all beach trails and boardwalks beginning Tuesday morning.”

“The complex known to Muslims as Haram al Sharif, or the Noble Sanctuary, contains Al Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock, sacred shrines of Islam. It is revered by Jews as the site of the first and second temples as well as the place where Abraham was prepared to sacrifice his son Isaac,” the article states.

As Kaddis points out, experts are speaking out to clarify the historical facts. Lawrence Schiffman, professor of Hebrew and Judaic studies at New York University, told the Jewish News Syndicate:

There is zero debate that two temples stood in that place in scholarly literature. Muhammad’s ascent happens from there only because it is the Temple site.

Similarly, Steven Fine, professor of Jewish history at Yeshiva University, confirmed:

It is a historical fact that the Jewish temples were built on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. Archaeological evidence for the Temple rebuilt after the return from Babylonian captivity and continuing until 66 AD is not contested.

Yet the Word of God assures believers that Christ will return, defeat evil and establish His millennial reign, ushering in a new heavens and earth free of pain and suffering.

As current events unfold—including rising anti-Semitism, attacks on Israel and efforts to erase Jewish history—believers can take comfort in the fulfillment of Scripture. As Kaddis explains:

We are armed and equipped with the Word of God… We can put our faith and trust in Him, literally bank our reliance upon His word.

CBN News is reporting that China is developing pregnancy robots complete with artificial wombs to help couples struggling with infertility. Host Raj Nair called the development “absolutely wild,” quoting Dr. Zang Quiang, the doctor leading the project, who said: “The artificial womb technology is already in a mature stage. And now it needs to be implanted in the robot’s abdomen so that a real person and the robot can interact to achieve pregnancy allowing the fetus to grow inside.”

You know, a God designed the body in a very particular way… a baby growing inside the womb of a human mother, there’s a connection point there that you want to see happen that is not happening in this case.”

Hallowell warned that not only is the technology deeply unnatural, but its testing would almost certainly lead to the loss of human life.

Together, the two broke down the disturbing implications of what such technology could mean:

• Robots are being priced around $14,000, far cheaper than human surrogacy which ranges from $100,000–$200,000.
• Hallowell stressed that science is moving so fast it won’t be surprising to see this happen, but the ethical costs are severe.
• Both highlighted that robots should never be used to replace the God-ordained role of mothers or the sanctity of life within the womb.
• Hallowell urged Christians to start with prayer: “God, is this of You? Is this not of You?”

Prophecy Watchers host Gary Stearman and author Jonathan Brentner recently discussed the uniqueness of the rapture and how today’s world events point to prophecy unfolding.

Brentner stressed that the rapture is distinct from the second coming of Christ. “It’s not part of the Second Coming. It’s different from the Second Coming,” he said. The difference comes down to timing. “When the rapture happens in 1 Thessalonians 4, Jesus raises the dead in Christ first. At the Second Coming… it might not even be the same day. It might be several days later.”

He added that the groups raised are not the same. “He raises the dead in Christ. But when at the second coming, it’s just a subset of believers as tribulation saints.”

The conversation also touched on global turmoil, especially the Oct. 7 invasion of Israel and the alarming rise of antisemitism. “Antisemitism… as we speak, and you know the Palestinians are perfectly willing to kill all the Jews,” Brentner warned. He noted the disturbing calls to wipe out Jews “from the river to the sea.”

Both Stearman and Brentner said these events reflect deeper spiritual forces at work. “We see that the same today in Iran. It’s almost as though that spirit is alive and well,” Brentner said, connecting current hostility to the ancient enemies of Israel.

Despite the dark outlook, Stearman reminded believers that Scripture also promises hope. “The world is preparing for something unspeakable,” he said, but added that the Bible provides assurance for those in Christ. Brentner agreed, saying the rapture points to “something that’s going to happen to Christendom… at the very near future. And it’s a beautiful thought to be having at this time in history.”

Florida resident, Aidan Perry, may have literally saved his life after a shocking encounter at a friend’s apartment left him critically injured. Perry, a young man from Ocala, Florida, was accidentally shot in the chest at point-blank range, but miraculously survived—thanks, he says, to the gold cross pendant he was wearing.

The incident occurred when Perry visited a friend to watch a UFC fight. “I hadn’t been there five minutes and next thing I know, a gun is pointed at me and I’m shot in the chest,” he recounted. The terrifying moment could have ended tragically, but Perry’s cross, a gift from his father the previous Christmas, played an unexpected role. “I wore it every single day from the day I got it,” Perry explained.

Medical experts say the outcome was extraordinary. Dr. Dana Taylor explained, “If he wasn’t wearing that cross, the bullet would not have been deflected to the left where it went to his arm. It would have gone into his chest and probably caused devastating injury to his heart, possibly breaking vessels. It definitely would have been a different outcome.”

The mechanics of the bullet’s deflection are remarkable. As Dr. Taylor described, the bullet struck the cross, scoring it and redirecting its trajectory across Perry’s chest and into his arm, preventing fatal injury. “Each trauma case can be very unique,” she noted, “and when I looked at his knew that cross definitely changed the course of his life.”

Perry expressed gratitude for the life-saving intervention, acknowledging both the physical and spiritual significance. “My faith has definitely grown stronger. That’s what I wore the cross for—to represent my faith in Christ,” he said. When asked whether he believed in miracles, Perry’s response was unequivocal: “I do believe in miracles.”

While the cross itself was damaged in the process, Perry remains undecided about whether to repair it or replace it entirely. “I don’t know if I should put this one back together and wear it, get a new one, or leave this one broken. Everyone is telling me different things to do,” he shared.

That was the reality for Dietrich Bonhoeffer, the brilliant German pastor who recognized the threat of Adolf Hitler long before the world understood the full scope of Nazi terror. Author and radio host Eric Metaxas says Bonhoeffer’s story isn’t just history, it’s a prophetic warning for Christians in America right now.

“Bonhoeffer was one of those voices who…was trying to wake up the church, because he knew just as we know today the Lord has appointed the church to be the voice of the nation, to be the conscience of the nation,” Metaxas said in a recent interview on Daystar. “The pagans aren’t going to be held accountable. Nobody could dream of the Holocaust and the death camps, trust me when I tell you they couldn’t dream of it,” he said.

Bonhoeffer stood firm even as many churches, both liberal and conservative, chose silence. “They all have good reasons to kind of keep their head down,” Metaxas said. “But he sees pagans saying, ‘I’m going to stand up against Hitler.’” Bonhoeffer eventually joined the plot to assassinate Hitler, believing God expected both prayer and action. “The Lord says, ‘Yeah, well I expect you to pray but I also expect you to act,’” Metaxas said.

The Nazis executed Bonhoeffer in 1945, just weeks before the end of the war. To Metaxas, his life is a heroic example but also a prophetic warning to today’s believers. “Exactly what happened to the German church is happening to the American church now,” he said. “If you don’t speak up…it’s the famous quote we don’t know who said it, but it’s often attributed to Bonhoeffer: ‘Silence in the face of evil is itself evil. God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.’”

Metaxas said Christians who claim they are “just preaching the gospel” while avoiding difficult issues are missing God’s command. “God is not buying that lie,” he said. “When He calls you to speak the truth, don’t tell them you’re going to preach the gospel. Speak the truth.”

Jonathan Cahn is warning Tucker Carlson of the spiritual implications that come from targeting the nation of Israel.

Recently, Tucker Carlson questioned the biblical basis for supporting Israel, asking whether the Abrahamic covenant still applies to the modern nation and its people. On a broadcast with Senator Ted Cruz, Carlson challenged the idea that Christians are commanded to bless Israel, suggesting that the covenant may not extend to today’s Jewish population or the current state of Israel.

Jonathan Cahn responded decisively to this line of thinking, emphasizing that Carlson’s reasoning is flawed and dangerous. “Where does my support for Israel come from? Number one, because biblically we are commanded to support Israel,” Cahn explains.

Cahn explains that “Israel is Israel.” Faith or unbelief in the Lord, Cahn notes, does not negate Israel’s status as God’s chosen nation.

Cahn warns that arguments like Carlson’s can easily drift into replacement theology or anti-Israel sentiment, subtly undermining Christians’ understanding of biblical prophecy. “Once you separate Israel from the Abrahamic covenant… you can make them your enemy and still call yourself a Christian. See, that’s what Hitler did,” he observes. The danger, he emphasizes, is that these ideas are seeping into both political and religious circles, potentially weakening support for Israel at a critical time.

Beyond addressing Carlson’s claims, Cahn affirms that the Jewish people today are the same people as in the Bible. He debunks myths such as the Khazar theory, which falsely claims modern Jews descend from a Turkic group who converted to Judaism in the Middle Ages. “If the Jewish people weren’t the Jewish people, the Jewish people would have to be somewhere else. And they’re nowhere else,” he states.

From genetics to language, culture and religious traditions, Cahn notes that the lineage of the Jewish people traces directly back to ancient Israel. He points out that even priestly lines can be verified through DNA markers linking back to Aaron, the brother of Moses. “If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck… it’s a duck. In this case, the duck is Jewish,” he affirms.

Cahn stresses that the Abrahamic covenant remains in full effect, extending both to the Jewish people and the nation of Israel. The promise given to Abraham—that “I will bless those who bless you, and curse those who curse you”—is repeated throughout scripture and continues to bear consequences today. Using historical examples, Cahn shows how nations that blessed Israel, like Persia, Britain and America, were lifted, while those that opposed Israel, such as Egypt, Assyria and Babylon, eventually fell. “It’s no accident. It’s God’s word. It’s a law. It’s like gravity,” he says.

Prophecy confirms the significance of the modern state of Israel. The return of the Jewish people to their homeland, first in 1948 and continuing to today, fulfills God’s word. Citing Jeremiah and Isaiah, Cahn highlights: “You cannot have one without the other… God who scatters them is going to gather them. Same people. Same prophecy. Same Israel. Same land.” Even if many return as unbelievers, Scripture predicts they will ultimately turn to God, confirming their identity as Israel.

Cahn urges Christians to act faithfully: stand with Israel, pray for Jerusalem and rejoice in the return of God’s people to their land. “Choose to be blessed, not cursed… those who bless Israel are blessed; those who curse Israel are cursed,” he reminds believers. Supporting Israel is not a political choice—it is obedience to God’s enduring covenant, alignment with prophecy and a declaration of faith in His plan.
