Why Believers Must Dismantle Racism in the Church

Life as we know it has been interrupted. As our nation responds to blatant acts of racism in our society, it is time for the church to lift up our voices and act on what God says about the situation.

In this moving episode of Truth Talks on the Charisma Podcast Network, Pastor Ché Ahn shows how you can walk out racial reconciliation and unity in your community. This episode marks the beginning of a new series on the Ten Commandments imparting eye-opening insights on the issues of racism, justice and freedom in society.

Pastor Ché shares powerful revelations from Scripture as he highlights the way the gospel of Jesus Christ serves as the foundational truth for understanding the Ten Commandments. God wants unity not only among the different streams of the church but between all different races on earth.

In the Bible, the book of Exodus demonstrates how God adamantly hates racism and affirms the value of freedom for all human beings. Just as the Jews were delivered from the slavery and injustices of another people group, it is God’s desire today to dismantle racism in the Church and to bring justice to our society.

God’s Future Prevails, Despite Opposition and Resistance

Are you ready for God’s future?—such a profound but uncommon question. Most believers have never considered the thought of God having a next or succeeding goal that pertains to and fulfills the purposes and intents of His will in the earth. In most instances, when referring to the future, it’s usually about us as individuals, our family, financial status or anything that directly pertains to our world. Modern-day Christianity has deceived many into believing that God’s world revolves around them and that He exists to make all their dreams come true.

Though this train of thought may provide the hearer with a warm, fuzzy feeling, it couldn’t be further from the truth. The reality is that God’s world revolves around God. In other words, He deems His plans, purposes and intents to be priority. Therefore, the subsequent, or future, Sovereign has been preparing, strategizing and recruiting for isn’t ours but His (see Matt. 6:10). I know, for some, this is a difficult pill to swallow. Because once again, modern-day Christianity has taught that the Sovereign’s most ultimate concern is that the Christians’ wants, desires and ambitions are met rather than His monarchal will fulfilled in the earth.

Proverbs 19:21 says many devices, or plans, are in a person’s heart, but it’s the Lord’s purpose that prevails. This therefore indicates God does what He wants, how He wants, to produce what He purposed. Psalms 33:11 solidifies the Proverbs writer regarding God’s plans coming to pass despite resistance from His creation. It’s evident from the passages referenced in Psalms and Proverbs that our God is a deviser. However, the question that arises is this: What’s His intent behind the planning? Preparation and provision are necessary for the futurity of that which is to come, this being God’s motive.

Since before creation began, the Creator’s been setting the stage for revealing heaven’s prophetic future in the earth. Isaiah 46:10 speaks of God “declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My good pleasure.'” Beloved, nation of Jesus Christ, the time has come for the unveiling of God’s future. The operative word there is “God’s”. It’s the futurity of the Sovereign that’s the priority. This is why, throughout the body of Christ, there’s the galvanizing of God’s apostles and prophets to execute the intents of His will. The dispensation God’s establishing is to switch out the old guards and install the new ones.

The new guards will align with the Sovereign’s future, ensuring its success, establishment and fulfillment in the earth. So, I reiterate the question: Are you ready for God’s future? Ready or not, here it comes, says the Lord! Despite the opposition, resistance and confrontation that God’s future will face, know with surety that there’s no stopping it. Acts 5:38b-39 (CEV) puts it this way: “If what they are planning is something of their own doing, it will fail. But if God is behind it, you cannot stop it anyway, unless you want to fight against God.” Fighting with God trumps fighting against Him any day!

Witchcraft … Within the Church?

Can there really be witchcraft within the church? Yes. What I am about to tell you is not about witches coming to your church, but rather about outspoken curses from brothers and sisters—word curses.

The Bible says in James 3:9-10 (NIV): “With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be.”

Woe to Those Who Call Good Evil

The other day, I was working in my garden cleaning out weeds. As I did, I talked with the Lord. Suddenly, I heard the Lord say: “Woe to those who call good evil!” I was surprised by His words and went inside to look up Isaiah 5:20-21 (KJV): “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!”

This is a powerful yet terrifying word. Often, we read this Scripture out of a World-perspective, as people who do not know the Lord call evil things for good. But how many times have we not heard a brother or a sister call what someone else is doing for the Lord bad or evil? Servants of the Lord are being called “false,” and what they do for the Lord, “their own thing.” That kind of talk is straightforward prejudgments over another human being. Instead, use your spiritual wisdom and soft words coming from a discerning, loving heart toward others.

God Is About to Cleanse His Church

The Lord is raising up a new generation which is bold and courageous, who will run boldly with revival fire. There is a global awakening going on right now, and the bride is making herself ready to see the bridegroom, Jesus.

Therefore, be careful and watch your mouth! Just because the Lord’s move does not look the way you want it to or because it does not immediately fit in your “box,” it does not mean the Lord has lost control. Even if God uses “the wrong person” in your eyes, take heed that you do not call good for evil, light for darkness or sweet for bitter.

We all need to examine our hearts and mouths. Otherwise, we might find ourselves unconsciously releasing word curses, or even witchcraft, over our fellow brothers and sisters in the Lord.

God is doing a marvelous work on the earth today. Do not stand against it. Welcome it, even though you do not recognize it at first. Release blessings and joy instead of cursing one another.

Hungry Millennial Hearts Captivated During Lou Engle’s Jesus Fast

The embers of revival are beginning to be poured out among hungry 20-year-olds waiting in line for an hour on Sunday to get a seat at UPPERROOM Dallas. Joining Lou Engle in a 40-Day Jesus Fast, spiritual awakening captures their hearts.

True revival happens when God sovereignly breaks into our lives with the Good News of salvation. Deep conviction of sin and genuine repentance fuel the fire of purity. One of the things that is often said about UPPERROOM is, “The Lord is there.”

After holding a week of Encounter Nights that focused on making way for Jesus to enter the room, the nightly gatherings have been extended for the rest of the fast and renamed “Maranatha Nights,” welcoming the Second Coming of Jesus.

On one night after singing songs about cleansing the temple, the entire gathering sat in complete silence for 15 minutes as deep conviction fell on those gathered. Even though a large online audience was livestreaming the event, senior pastor Michael Miller asked for the cameras to be shut off as God sovereignly broke into the room and began to heal and deliver individuals who began to shake, weep and fall under the presence of the Holy Spirit.

We can’t orchestrate widespread revival; it’s Jesus who enters the room and changes lives. After over a decade of making room for Jesus in morning, noon and evening prayer, hungry humble hearts cry in unison at UPPERROOM Dallas “Jesus, you can come! Jesus, will you come?”

Be inspired with refreshing stories of healing, and be encouraged by authentic conversations with real people who walk in bold faith as you listen to Healing Rain with Sue Detweiler on the Charisma Podcast Network. {eoa}

Fix the Foundation of Your ‘Happiness Factor’ With the Word of God

What I love about the book of Ecclesiastes is that it is very practical. It’s a book about practical wisdom, much like Proverbs. Basically, the message of this book is that it’s futile and empty to try to be happy in anything apart from God.

But there must be something more to happiness than just being a Christian, since just being a Christian doesn’t automatically mean you’re happy. So then, you might wonder: What does it really take for man to be happy?

My experience as a believer is that, even though I was saved at age 10, by the time I was in my early 40s I was truly miserable. Despite having attended Bible school and having acquired considerable knowledge of the Bible, I was completely and utterly miserable. God felt very, very far away—very distant and very disinterested in me.

Part of my testimony from when I was so miserable is that I can clearly and vividly remember my husband sitting across from me on numerous occasions and asking me, in all sincerity, “What would it take to make you happy?” And I would look helplessly at him and say, “I don’t know. I don’t know what I want. I have no idea what it would take to make me happy.” I felt hopeless.

Because here’s the thing: I had it all. I was a believer. I had a good husband who loved me. I had great kids, a beautiful house and enough money that I could choose to do whatever I wanted. I could work full-time, part-time, stay at home and be a full-time mom or even start my own business. And yet I had no idea what I wanted or what it would take to make me happy.

I know a lot of believers in this same place—they’re not really happy. Because just being a Christian and knowing you’re going to heaven doesn’t automatically mean you’re happy.

What’s your happiness factor today? The winds of change are blowing. If your circumstances were to change for the worse, whether it concerned your wealth, your position, your health or your family—would you still be happy? Because if not, then maybe you need to reevaluate the basis of your notion of happiness..

You know how rollercoasters are—up one minute and down the next. Life, circumstances and even our emotions can be just like that. God wants your happiness factor to be a constant, not up and down like a rollercoaster!

To hear more about this portion of my testimony and learn some simple steps that can take you from miserable to satisfied, listen to What’s Your Happiness Factor? on Preparing the Way with Diane Lake on the Charisma Podcast Network.

CN Morning Rundown: Michael Brown: God Is Not Discouraged

Here’s a quick summary of the top stories on :

Michael Brown: God Is Not Discouraged

The Scriptures often speak of God being grieved or angry. But they never speak of Him being discouraged.

That’s because discouragement is not an “emotion” that exists within the Godhead. How could it? Discouragement would imply despair. Or hopelessness. Or defeat. And all of these emotions—to speak of the creator in human terms—are totally foreign to Him. Ultimately, in Jesus, they should be foreign to us as well.

Of course, it is only natural that, as human beings, even human beings who have a close relationship with the Lord, we will pass through seasons of discouragement.

Title X Battle to Defund Planned Parenthood Rages on in Supreme Court

This has been a pivotal week in the battle to defund Planned Parenthood. The Supreme Court dismissed three cases challenging the Trump administration’s “protect life regulations,” defunding millions from Planned Parenthood. At the same time, we filed a new formal public legal comment urging the Biden administration not to reverse the current pro-life rule.

As we explained earlier, the protect life regulations prohibit the use of Title X money “to perform, promote, refer for, or support abortion as a method of family planning.” Title X is a federal program dedicated to providing preconception family planning services to the nation’s neediest citizens.

The regulations barred grant applicants from providing abortion counseling and referrals, and required them to have financial and physical separation from any abortion provider. Under the prior regulations, physical separation was not required, and abortion clinics exploited this loophole. For example, the National Abortion Federation created an information packet on Title X, instructing abortion clinics that “[i]f a facility receiving Title X funding is itself an abortion provider, it may make what is known as a ‘self-referral.'”

Google Docs Updates Auto-Correct Algorithm to Be More ‘Inclusive’

Alphabet—the parent company for Google—announced this week it is updating its auto-correct algorithm to be more “inclusive.”

The app will now correct sex-based language. For example, rather than using words like “mailman” or “chairman,” Google Docs will auto-correct to phrases like “mail carrier” and “chair” or “chairperson,” according to the Daily Mail.

The company announced Tuesday, during its I/O Developers Conference, that it will give users suggestions on ways to avoid “offensive” and gendered language. {eoa}

Top of the Week: The Church Must Arise in End-Times Power

Decline in Freedoms Means the Church Must Arise in End-Times Power

To everyone still sleeping through the communist takeover being deployed around the world, consider this your wake-up call. Governments, intelligence agencies and “woke” organizations are increasingly suppressing our freedoms and stifling the advancement of the kingdom. If the church in every nation fails to arise, we face the threat of going underground or becoming extinct.

In February 2021, after a year of fighting lawsuits and threats of fines and jail time, congregations in California finally got a Supreme Court ruling to reopen churches at 25% capacity with COVID restrictions on masks and social distancing still in place. The Supreme Court declined to rule on whether singing was a health risk. Dissenting Justice Elena Kagan called COVID-19 a ‘”raging pandemic” and stated, “Under the Court’s injunction, the State must instead treat worship services like secular activities that pose a much lesser danger.”

‘Cheerleader for the Lord’ COGIC Evangelist Joyce Rodgers Dies at 65

Joyce Rodgers, evangelist, speaker, author and founder of Joyce Rodgers International and Primary Purpose Ministries Inc. died Wednesday at the age of 65 after battling an undisclosed illness.

In a social media post, the ministry announced the “peaceful transition” of its founder, saying, “Today, we honor and celebrate the life of this extraordinary woman who has gone on to receive her reward. May the God of peace be with the Timmons family; our friends and partners of this ministry and the countless lives she touched around the world.”

In War Against ‘Woke’ Culture, Mario Murillo Says We Need Pattons to Arise

Mario Murillo, who was powerfully used in the Jesus Movement of the 1960s and 1970s, and speaks to millions via his blog, in-person revival meetings and national television programs, says our generation needs Pattons to arise—referring to General George Patton, a hero of World War II.

“Patton’s fundamental approach to war in the natural is the precise tactic for war that we need now,” Murillo says. “For example, he didn’t want his men digging foxholes. He was about advancing, moving forward, taking the offensive to the enemy.”

Patton didn’t care about public opinion because, as he said, “I’ve got a war to win.”

California District Court Crushes Statewide Permanent Injunction Against COVID Restrictions

Tuesday, a California District Court entered an order approving Liberty Counsel’s settlement of the lawsuit on behalf of Harvest Rock Church and Harvest International Ministry against California Gov. Gavin Newsom. The full and final settlement was approved today the district court and thus is the first statewide permanent injunction in the country against COVID restrictions on churches and places of worship. Under the agreed statewide permanent injunction, all California churches may hold worship without discriminatory restrictions.

Under the settlement, California may no longer impose discriminatory restrictions upon houses of worship. The governor must also pay Liberty Counsel $1,350,000 to reimburse attorney’s fees and costs.

Why Kenneth E. Hagin Said the Church Lacks True Holy Spirit Power

There is a book in my library I often refer to. It is called Tongues: Beyond The Upper Room, by the late Kenneth E. Hagin.

Every believer should have that book. Every church should teach thoroughly from it. Every minister should read it regularly. There are certain men of old like Hagin and many others who were sent by God with light from heaven for their generation. The challenge with each new generation is to keep the light burning that these men brought to us from the Holy Ghost. There is a new church methodology that is making it easier to lose this light. There is a new ministry philosophy that is content to let it slip away because according to their wisdom, it doesn’t bring in the numbers or the dollars. {eoa}

Chicago Mayor Faces Backlash for Declining to Give Interviews to White Journalists

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot recently made the announcement that she would only be granting interviews to reporters of color. She has faced backlash for the decision. Chicago NBC reporter Mary Ann Ahern was one of the reporters with whom Lightfoot refused to grant an interview.

Ahern said, “I think it’s outrageous for an elected official to choose who will ask questions.”
