Are You Prepared to Steward a Supernatural Move of God?

On this recent episode of Live Your Best Life with Liz Wright on the Charisma Podcast Network, lead pastor of Seattle Revival Center, Darren Stott, shares an important call of preparation for the body of Christ. Darren’s new book, Carve, teaches keys on preparing for and stewarding revival. We have seen many great revivals come and go throughout church history, and Darren believes, “Moves of God don’t end because God moved on. Moves of God end because of our humanity and our flesh.”

While there is no shortage of wine—His presence—there is a shortage of wineskins—ready vessels that can partner with the Holy Spirit in a continual, sustainable way. Darren says we are moving into the days of the unprecedented, where the history books can’t prepare us for where we’re about to go, and therefore, it’s critical for us to carve out a culture where we know our nonnegotiables. Darren believes the six disciplines of expectation, preparation, collaboration, communication, celebration and evaluation can create a healthy, sustainable culture of revival.

“God can send something in one season that’s a blessing,” Darren says, “that becomes a burden if we can’t realize that there was a grace in a particular season to do something with the Lord.” It’s so important to recognize when God is shifting into something else and not expect Him to move in a certain way. There is an anointing coming upon a people who say yes to God, especially on those to whom religion is saying they don’t have the right to walk in the power of God.

To prepare for God’s invitation to go deeper than ever before, we need to carve out a realm where we are prepared for the responsibility that comes with His presence. Learn how to steward His presence so you can be a part of the restoration of all things! {eoa}

Why Christians Should Care About the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

The outbreak of terror and violence in Israel has gripped the world lately.

Although news headlines are everywhere, it can be difficult to understand what is really taking place, especially from an eternal perspective. With that in mind, we recently spoke with Nic Lesmeister, the director for the Gateway Center for Israel in Dallas, Texas, for clarity on the conflict.

“All of this is rooted in the fact that God chose for Himself one group of people when He called Abram in Genesis 12. Anything that God chooses for Himself and says, “This is Mine,” the devil is going to come at with everything he has.”

After Israel evacuated the Gaza Strip in 2005, a Palestinian political party called Hamas took over. Hamas’ stated vision a political movement denies Israel’s right to exist and seeks to “liberate Jerusalem” from Jewish presence.

In fact, the preamble from the original Hamas charter states, “Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it.” It continues to state in seventh article of the charter, “the day of judgement will not come about until the Muslims fight Jews and kill them.”

In short, the basis for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is an utter hatred for God and the things of God, which includes the people who He has called and made covenant with. This goes back thousands of years.

Before the recent ceasefire was signed, the terror organization Hamas had fired over 4,000 rockets into Israeli civilian areas, intentionally doing so from Gazan civilian areas.

For a clearer understanding of the Israel-Palestinian conflict and why Christians should care, listen to Nic’s full interview on Missions in the Modern Day on the Charisma Podcast Network. {eoa}

How Spirit-Filled Believers Can Battle on Behalf of Israel

Antisemitism is on the rise, and we are faced with a decision. How will we interact and respond to Israel’s physical war?

The enemy is bringing division right now. He is using manipulation to turn people against Israel and the Jewish state. As a result, the spirit of antisemitism is growing, even within the borders of Israel.

As believers, we need to know the truth about Israel and the Israel Defense Forces. We need to see it with our own eyes, and we need to battle for the nation of Israel in prayer.

Battle in Prayer for Israel

Let us come together in unified prayer for Israel and be the watchmen mentioned in Ezekiel 33:6-7 (NKJV):

“‘But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.’

“So you, son of man: I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore you shall hear a word from My mouth and warn them for Me.”

From these verses, we understand that the watchmen have a responsibility to blow a trumpet, to warn.

We do not need to fear but to boldly proclaim the truth that God loves and stands with Zion. We must shed light on the truth about Israel and what they are really facing. We must warn others of the dangers of not standing with Israel.

God is calling believers everywhere to take a stand, not to remain silent, and to step into their assignment to be watchmen for the house of Israel.

Ask these questions:

What would happen if every believer started praying for God’s protection and deliverance to come to Israel?

What would happen if every believer battled in pray for Israel, decreeing God’s warring angels be released and bring victory?

We could expect:

Our own lives to be transformed.

Our hearts to be aligned with God’s.

Heaven’s will be done on earth.

Israel’s safety and protection to manifest God’s glory.

According to the Word of God, those who pray for Israel’s peace and love the nation will experience prosperity and peace within their walls.

Brothers and sisters, this is a call to battle in prayer. The days and weeks to come could impact the world. It is our responsibility to start praying for the following:

An awakening to take place in the church.

God’s deliverance and strength to carry Israel through to victory.

The Lord to release His prosperity and protection over you and your family.

Let us move forward and take our assignments seriously in this critical hour.

God Is Going to Turn Your Disaster Into Your Destiny

Humanity faced disaster in 2020. A disaster is any event that has unfortunate consequencesa sudden accident or natural catastrophe that causes great damage, even loss of life. COVID-19 ticked all of these boxes as it raced across the globe at an unimaginable pace.

Abruptly, bustling streets, usually swamped with people became deserted museums, hospitals became war zones and our homes became prisons. Life was changed forever by this invisible disease.

Only now, as we begin to slowly emerge from our home-based bunkers, can we survey the impact. In the wake of disaster comes unexpected occurrences. Often there is a birthing, a significant change that takes place, and we find ourselves in new seasons, navigating new ways.

For the past few years, prophetic voices have constantly pronounced Isaiah 43:19 (KJV) as the catch cry for this decade. The Scripture reads:

“Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”

This Scripture rose as a clarion call of the new era, with hindsight we can truly see it was more than that. Unaware of what was about to descend on us, God in His kindness gave us an anchor of hope to cling too.

It promises that God will always create a new thing, even in the most difficult of circumstances. This truth is as real for us today as it was for the Israelites when Isaiah declared it over them around 700 B.C. Although disaster was at their door, God continued to create a way forward; He held their destiny firmly in His hand.

Life is full of adversity. The Bible teaches us, repeatedly, that the only way through these times is with God. There is no richer time to praise God than when we are at our lowest because this is when He takes our disasters and turns them into our destinies.

The Psalmsfull of declarations that encouraged Israel to lift their voices and proclaim God as creatorare brimming with such moments. He is the one who always has and always will create something out of nothing.

What is even more profound is that in His grace He chose to create us in His image (Gen. 1:27) so that we can do likewise.

In Psalm 33:3 (NIV) the writer declares “Sing to Him a new song; play skilfully, and shout for joy.” In this simple verse is an invitation to create with God in three ways. He calls us to create by lifting our voice in a new song, to cultivate the gifts that He has given us until we are skilful and to celebrate with a shout as we breakthrough our barriers.

While we have faced a devastating season, we can be sure of thisGod is not done, and neither are we. What we will find moving forward is a new song and new season that awaits.

When COVID-19 restricted human activities in the San Francisco Bay area, the white-crowned sparrows began to sing new notes that had not been heard before. Previously the traffic noise had interfered with their ability to sing effectively. When humanity was quieted, the birds were freed to sing their most effective and beautiful notes.

This is the wonder of our Creator God, that He can take a disaster and create a new song to be sung.

God Is Looking for You

Second Chronicles 16:9 (NKJV) says, “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.”

People often say they are waiting on God for their breakthroughs or promises to manifest. However, 2 Chronicles 16:9 reveals the reverse side of this spiritual coin. We are not only waiting on God, but His Spirit is looking for us. God is desirous of those who He can show Himself “strong on behalf of.” There are some interesting points to notice about this Scripture

The Eyes of the Lord

God sees and knows all. He is not only omnipresent but omniscience—meaning He knows all. Imagine God scanning the earth from heaven, looking for those individuals whose hearts are pure and tuned into the channel of faith.

There are two Scriptures that reveal powerful truths on how an individual may gain special notice from God.

Matthew 5:8 says, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”

Hebrews 11:6 says that “without faith it is impossible to please [God].”

God is looking for us, but Matthew 5:8 reveals that a pure heart will allow us to “see God.” Seeing God is not relegated to seeing a tangible manifestation of God’s person but also means to experience His evident favor in one’s life. Also, to “see God” means to have the Holy Spirit reveal more of the person of Jesus and His ways to our hearts and soul. Simply stated, purity releases a greater revelation of God in our life.

The second truth is that faith in God pleases God. While the eyes of the Lord “run to and fro,” they are looking for those who exercise their faith. What does the Bible say that Jesus will look for when He returns to the earth? It doesn’t say he will be looking for the best preacher, the best tourist attraction or the most powerful world leader. The Bible says in Luke 18:8, “Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?” Our faith sends such a powerful message to God about our sincere belief in Him, and if we trust Him, our faith grabs the attention of God’s eyes and touches His heart!

The Whole Earth

There are currently over 7 billion people living on Planet Earth. It is a great mystery how God is able to hear the prayers of billions worldwide simultaneously. However, faith-fueled prayers attract God’s attention, regardless of our geographical location. While reading 2 Chronicles 16:9, I thought of all of the third world nations stricken with disease, division, war and poverty. God doesn’t say that the people of these nations are overlooked, but rather, His eyes scan “throughout the whole earth.” God doesn’t discriminate. Romans 2:11 (KJV) says, “For there is no respect of persons with God.” God does respect our obedience, purity, faith and worship.

The great evangelist and apostle of faith, Smith Wigglesworth, declared, “There is something about believing God that will cause Him to pass over a million people to get to you.”

A Loyal Heart

The Scripture reads: “To show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to him.”

Loyalty is of great value and speaks volumes of the level of relationship two individuals have with one another. Loyalty goes beyond just taking someone’s side or being committed to them. Dogs are often described as loyal to their owners. A loyal dog stays by his master’s side, is excited at the sight or sound of the master’s voice and carefully watches the master’s movements. When we are loyal to God, we learn to walk closely with the Lord hand in hand. We learn to not only obey His voice and leading but to be excited about them. Obedience no longer becomes burdensome but rather a prized privilege. A loyal dog won’t obey someone else’s voice over its own master. Jesus said explained in John 10 that His sheep know His voice, and the voice of another they will not follow.

God wants to show Himself strong for you and your loved ones. The Spirit of God is constantly searching the earth and the hearts and minds of men looking for those who might receive and display the blessings of God. God wants His strength to show up in your weakness. Your weakness may be poverty, addiction, sickness, generational curses or some other troubling issue. When God’s strength shows up in your life, what was once a struggle becomes a testimony of overcoming. Allow purity to reign in your heart and faith to dominate your life, and watch as the Spirit of God handpicks you to show Himself strong in your life. {eoa}

We Get One Chance at This Wild Adventure

“You will make known to me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand there are pleasures for evermore” (Ps. 16:11).

Life is an adventure. But, somewhere in the struggle of every day, we often lose the perspective that life is really a crazy, beautiful ride. We get tunnel vision concerning the problems of the day. We aren’t sure how we will make it through. We get addicted to highs and terrified of lows. We allow our perspective to slip away from reality and settle in the world of our fantasies (a world of dream or dreariness, but wholly detached from truth).

The path of life is windy. It is wild and unpredictable. It is beyond our control. And this frightens us. We are skeptical of what we cannot understand or control. So it often seems a much better option to shrink our world into some semblance of what we can manipulate, dictate and control. We try to make ourselves tiny gods of insignificant and lonely worlds rather than step into the epic grandness of a world we cannot fully fathom.

But all of the things that make life terrifying also make it thrilling. It wouldn’t be an adventure without risk, without danger, without the joy of triumph and the hard lessons of defeat. None of the stories we love—movies, books and so forth—are about characters being safe all the time and never learning anything. The difficulty spurs innovation and discovery; it invites us into community and the beautiful reality that life is bigger than we are.

The Lord is watching over us. He has placed us on this planet not just to suffer and toil but to thrive and live (even as we suffer and toil). He has placed us on an epic journey. We are a novel of His creation, a character of His authorship.

The thrill of adventure never looks the way we imagine. And what can seem like a long journey is actually a flash in the pan when measured against eternity. We get one chance at this adventure. We can sleep through it, waste it, lament it or enjoy it.

Only through knowing God is it possible to perceive the journey of life. The path is windy and arduous. But it is thrilling. It is an adventure. Join us as we discover in God’s Word the potential He has given us to live life as an epic journey.

Is Your Name Found in the Hall of Faith?

“The world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and mountains, in dens and caves of the earth. These all have obtained a good report through faith, but they did not receive the promise. For God provided something better for us, so that with us they would be made perfect” (Heb. 11:38-40).

The “hall of faith” in Hebrews 11 is full of people who are renowned for their courage, perseverance and commitment to the way of God. These are heroes you have heard of—Noah, Abraham, Jacob, Moses and more.

But the hall of faith is not just about these famous names. The last several verses list a variety of different persons who are not known by history, indeed they are not even known by name. They are people who have been persecuted but held firm to their faith. These are people who struggled but remained courageous.

These are commended for their faith, though their circumstances don’t work out the way they would have liked. Their reward is something better than anything that can be revealed in this life.

Whether you are a hero recognized the world over or someone who does not receive the promises of blessing in this life, the true and ultimate reward is the kingdom of heaven—something we experience in joy together, beyond the parameters of this imperfect life and imperfect world.

We too often try to get into some Christianized version of the hall of fame by performing, being impressive in the eyes of the world or accumulating wealth and power. The kingdom of heaven does not have a place of recognition with this kind of entry requirements. In fact, it is wholly unimpressed. But perhaps you are already named in the hall of faith. By trusting God, remaining faithful through difficulty and bearing witness to truth in God’s world, you join a host of others (named and unnamed throughout history) renowned and celebrated in heaven precisely because they exercised their greatest power and most significant opportunity on this earth: a life of faith.

Faith is about trusting the one who transcends circumstances. Our reward is not temporal material prosperity but the true riches of eternity in the kingdom of God. {eoa}

Bishop Jacqueline McCullough Asks, ‘What Is Normal?’

This was a dream come true! The opportunity to interview Bishop Jaqueline McCullough excited me! During this fantastic interview, we talked about anointed powerful women in ministry, and McCullough shared her experience when God called her. What a testimony!

Although, when I was 11 years old, she was the first female preacher I’d ever heard, she was surrounded by them all the time. She was able to glean off of them, learning so much and receiving powerful impartation. Not only did McCullough discuss women in ministry, but we also talked about the 2020 pandemic.

McCullough challenged us with this question: What is normal? So many of us in the United States want to get back to “normal,” but what is that? She also encouraged us to listen to the words being released in the media. “Pay attention!” she says. “It’s important to listen to what is being said.” We also talked at length about Jesus returning and how important it is to seek Him more. We need to pray, read the Bible and worship Him more.

I enjoyed my time with Bishop Jacqueline McCullough. After listening to this podcast episode of The Keys Against the Enemy with Dr. Gina Prince on the Charisma Podcast Network, you will walk away encouraged, inspired and on fire for God. {eoa}

From Burnt Offerings to Sacrifices of Praise

Many Christians have heard about Israel’s tabernacle established by Moses or the temple that was built by Solomon, but very few are aware that King David also established a dwelling place for God.

In 1 Chronicles, you can read the story of this third tabernacle. The Psalms are essentially the songbook of this tabernacle. Throughout Israel’s history, whenever a king turned back to God, they reinstated the Davidic model of worship. Amos and Isaiah both prophesy about David’s tent being restored, and in the New Testament, James quotes one of these prophecies at the very first church council. The theme of the tabernacle of David is far-reaching throughout the Bible.

David was passionate about the presence of God before he became king. So his first act after uniting Israel in Jerusalem was to go get the ark of the covenant—the place of God’s manifest presence. He set up a new tent (or tabernacle) for it on a hill called Mount Zion, and then he established 33 years of musical worship.

In Israel’s original tabernacle, they gave God burnt offerings, but David’s revolutionary approach was to offer songs and prayers as worship. These were sacrifices of praise (). By the end of the 33 years of David’s tabernacle, they had trained over 4,000 musicians to worship the Lord.

One very unusual part of this story is that David and the Levites he appointed to be musicians had complete access to the ark. This was very different from the tabernacle of Moses, where God’s presence stayed hidden behind a veil. David’s behavior would’ve been so wild in his time, but it foreshadows our access to God through Jesus.

These were the glory days of Israel—this passionate worship was happening nonstop and all 12 tribes were united. The spirit of David’s tabernacle is rising again in our day as God’s people offer Jesus extravagant worship day and night around the world.

I share more about where David got these radical ideas for his new tabernacle in Episode 74 of the Presence Pioneers podcast on Charisma Podcast Network. Also, check out my new book, David’s Tabernacle: How God’s Presence Changes Everything. {eoa}

Matthew Lilley is an author, worship leader, intercessor and Bible teacher with a passion for God’s presence, extravagant worship and prayer and a desire to see cities transformed by Jesus. In 2004 he founded Presence Pioneers to help fulfill his calling to connect, equip and plant presence-centered Christian communities. He has helped launch two houses of prayer in North Carolina and has also served in national leadership roles in worship and prayer movements such as Burn 24-7 and Awaken the Dawn.

Don’t Neglect This God-Given Mandate to Protect His Children

King Jesus Is Watching

“Have you heard about what they are doing to My children? Is it true? What do you plan to do about these acts of horror? What is My church going to do about these demonic displays of cruelty against My innocent children?

“If you protect and raise My children in the ways I have taught you, then blessing will rain down upon you. And your children will rule and reign in My power for generations to come. You see, it will not take long before these people possessed by demons are removed from the earth and placed into permanent darkness. Being they have no children, there will be no offspring remaining to come against My church.”

It Is Written

“Look! I will throw her onto a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds. I will put her children to death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the hearts and minds. I will give to each one of you according to your deeds” (Rev. 2:22-23).

Decree and Declare

We do know that we have not done all that we should have. Forgive us Lord! We ask for Your Spirit to lead us in protecting Your children, for they are the heritage and life of Your new church.

You have asked us what we will do to save the children.

Because these children are powerless, we desire to be used as vessels for Your Spirit to prophesy through proclaiming the destiny of each one of these innocent children. Impart Your spiritual gifts to establish them.

We stand as Your remnant, separated from the masses to do Your will on earth as You have declared from Your throne. We will seek out the innocent and powerless children and prophesy fire into their bones, anointing them with Your fragrant oil, drawing the angels near to minister for them.

It Is Written

“O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth! You have set Your glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have ordained strength because of Your enemies, to silence the enemy and the avenger” (Ps. 8:1-2).

Cling to God’s Prophetic Word

When our King was born, He was taken into the holy temple to be dedicated. It was there that Simeon and Anna prophesied the destiny of our Lord and King. Therefore, this we shall do as it was also spoken by the apostle Peter: “And we have a more reliable word of prophecy, which you would do well to follow, as to a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts” (2 Pet. 1:19). We are not asking our Lord for a prophetic word for ourselves but for the life of the church and His children.

Now the day has come to take up our prophetic mantles and strike against the enemies of G-D’s church. Prophesy and command the demons to turn upon those whom they possess. With G-D’s prophetic word, we have power over His holy angels, as well as the fallen angels. Command them to implode within the evil souls of those serving as ambassadors of Satan and workers of gross injustice.

Stand firm in His faith, close to the prophetic word of G-D, and in time, you will receive your rewards.

It Is Written

“But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you” (Matt. 12:28, MEV).
