Escaping Her Islamic Bloodline, Marie Muhammad Now Preaches the Gospel for Jesus

Marie Muhammad is intimately familiar with overcoming the “shipwrecks” of life.

As the great granddaughter of Elijah Muhammad, the founder of the Nation of Islam, Marie became ostracized from her family when she shunned their religion to become a follower of Jesus Christ and receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit at age 17.

She endured an abusive and adulterous marriage, a heart-wrenching abortion and poverty. But the Holy Spirit never left her side and Muhammad is now serving the Lord with fervor and determination. She preaches to others of similar circumstances to let them know that Jesus is the only way to salvation.

Muhammad also heads up a ministry called Ruth’s Vineyard, which she says is a mission to serve young single mothers by providing educational support and resources. She’s written a book called Overcoming the Shipwrecks of Life on Broken Pieces, published in 2020, and she’s the host of the Overcomers Podcast on the Charisma Podcast Network.

Muhammad’s book is a memoir based on Acts 27, in which the apostle Paul’s ship endured a great storm on its way to Rome. It’s a biblical story she clings to.

“Paul received prophetic words that no one was going be lost during that storm,” Muhammad told Dr. Steve Greene on a recent episode of Greenelines on CPN. “Everything got destroyed, and they had to toss things overboard to end up making it, some of those on broken pieces.

“And that’s how God led me to write my book, the situations that have caused me to become an overcomer. I’ve overcome many, many things in my life. I struggled with the spirit of murder and suicide. The enemy really wanted me, to take my life and my husband’s, because he had gotten so bad. But God began to just draw me and draw me and draw me; and it was through His loving kindness and drawing me near to Him that He began to really deliver me.

“Not only did He begin to turn my heart, but He turned my heart to intercession,” Muhammad continues. “God gave me two strategies: mercy and truth. I believed God for great favor and for things to be restored for my family. I believe in God for that favor, and the Word tells us in Proverbs 3 to bind mercy around our neck and to write it on the tables of our heart. If we do, we will find that favor.”

Former Seattle Police Chief Speaks Out on Misrepresentation of 2020 Protests

When CNN’s Chris Cuomo interviewed Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan about the George Floyd protests in her city during the summer of 2020, she described the Capitol Hill Organized Protest (CHOP) zone as a “block party” atmosphere, not an “armed take over.” She predicted that it might even turn into a “summer of love.”

Mayor Durkan concluded the TV interview communicating, “We take public safety very seriously. … We don’t have to sacrifice public safety for First Amendment rights. Both can exist, and we’ll make sure that both exist in Seattle.”

Before the summer of 2020 was over, the six block-occupied protest area evicted the police precinct and quickly devolved into chaos, becoming the site of multiple deadly shootings. The protesters demanded Seattle cut their police budget in half, shift funding to community programs and services in historically Black communities and ensure that protesters would not be charged with their crimes.

Chief Carmen Best, the first African American woman to lead the Seattle Police Department, resigned shortly after the City Council drastically cut the department’s budget.

The former police chief recently commented on the Reducing Crime Podcast with Jerry Ratcliffe, the media portrayal of the CHOP was intentionally misrepresented to make it appear more peaceful and safe than it actually was.

Chief Best told Ratcliffe, “The other thing that I found very curious during that time frame was that the destructive behavior, for whatever reason—I’m not sure if there’s a political reason or otherwise—did not get the level of publicity or media attention.

“I would read stories about the peaceful protests,” she continued. “I go, ‘Well, part of it was peaceful.’ But I was standing 20 feet away from a hail of rocks. I was looking right at them hail down, feet from me.”

The podcast host commented, “And then you read the media and find that they’re pretty much gaslighting you.”

She described her frustration with the media claiming it was nothing but a “peaceful protest,” and the police harshly and unfairly targeted protesters. She admitted the police used tactics that included tear gas and pepper spray on the protesters, but the use of those non-lethal tactics was justified.

Best said, “We were trying to look as non-threatening as possible, maybe not have the riot shields up. But once we know we’re going to be getting rocks and bottles thrown at us, I have a responsibility as a chief to make sure people have protecting gear. We can’t just leave them out there with soft hat and rocks are being thrown and whatever.”

“The Council gave us $1.6 million to hire the best, brightest and most diverse,” she continued. “Now they want me to layoff 100 of those officers. I can’t do that.”

“I don’t want the people who work for me to be impacted by the animus directed toward me. That animus felt personal.”

Best explained that her reason for resigning as chief was out of “the disrespect shown to all SPD officers.”

She concluded with a warning to monitor how media frames their narrative of events in the world, and encouragement to search for the whole story. {eoa}

Prophetic Word: The Lord Says, ‘Get Ready for a Triumphant Movement’

I hear the Lord say, “Get ready for a triumphant movement! For those of you who are still standing in this hour—the leaders, pioneers, prophets and forerunners who have been carrying the weight, the heaviness and the pushback … those who have been mocked and ridiculed—behold, a fresh, new wind and fire are being released upon you now! Discouragement always comes before the victory! A movement is being born out of the ashes of despair!”

A Preparation and a Separation

“As it is written in the Prophets: Look, I am sending My messenger before Your face, who will prepare Your way before You. The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare ye the way of the Lord; make His paths straight ‘” (Mark 1:2-3).

Before a move of God, there is always a preparation and a separation. Those of you who have struggled with mental clarity, get ready to see the redeeming power of God!

John was seen as the crazy one out in the wilderness; can you imagine how he felt knowing something was coming? A Savior, the Messiah—out of faith, he was prophesying something never seen before. Can you imagine how he felt the moment Jesus walked up to him and asked to be baptized by him?

I hear the Lord say, “There will be a people who will be vindicated for continuing to believe and stand upon what I have shown them. There will be those who are rewarded through the testing and the trials, even though many turned aside and began to ridicule in disbelief. This is a season of a new, triumphant sound!”

Like a Tribe of Elephants and a Band of Warriors

Lately, I have been dreaming about elephants. Biblically, elephants can represent a huge move of God—a great impact! Elephants never leave each other; they link together, and they value family. The older ones will starve before letting the little ones go hungry, and they are truly strong and stable. They represent longevity. I see them as a tribe outlasting the attacks of the enemy; they are thick-skinned and resilient overcomers. I believe this is a representation of what the Lord is saying to the prophetic voices in this hour.

Many of you are sensitive and have been hearing correctly. I want to encourage you to stay standing on the words of the Lord. The enemy has tried to take many of you off the course, but I hear the Lord say that He is making the path strait for you.

I want to encourage you not to isolate but begin to link up with like-minded friends. The Lord says that for all of the loss, He is bringing kingdom families together at this time who will stand as a band of warriors. They will have each other’s backs, and they will stand together through the storms of the enemy. Kingdom family will be emerging over these next few months, and this will be a strand, a cord of strong prophetic voices who will trumpet the sounds of victory!

I heard the Lord say that as a sign, their words will come to pass quickly, right before the eyes of the mockers. Hope is being released even to those of you who have been attacked in your bodies and minds as never before. The storm is lifting; keep your eyes on Jesus. He is faithful, and He will bring you through.

I saw a veil being removed in the Spirit, and I heard the Lord say, “I am removing the blinders from those the enemy has tricked and blindsided.” God never loses a battle, even when it looks as though the enemy has won.

It’s Time to Move Forward

Psalm 21:8-12 (TPT) says, “Your almighty hands have captured your foes. You uncovered all who hate You and You seized them. When You appear before them, unveiling the radiance of Your face, they will be consumed by the fierce fire of Your presence. Yahweh’s flames will swallow them up. They and their descendants will be destroyed by an unrelenting fire. We will watch them fail, for these are the ones who plan their evil schemes against the Lord. They will turn and run at the sight of Your judgment-arrows aimed straight at their hearts.”

It is a time to look on and move forward. The Lord God almighty will defend His children. It is His promise to us. He is fighting for our victory!

You will come out stronger, more anointed, more thankful, more resilient, more triumphant and hungrier than ever before. What tried to destroy you has only made you a triumphant warrior! {eoa}

Top of the Week: Francis Chan Responds to Leaders Leaving the Church

The following are the top stories featured in the past week on :

In Wake of Leaders Leaving the Faith, Frances Chan Calls Churches to Sacredness

While many faith leaders are discussing how to best lead their church in a post-COVID era, Francis Chan addressed the Exponential Reset Summit with a call to sacredness and a return to worship. He says this is vital, especially in light of many high-profile Christians leaving the church in recent days.

“I am seeing so many people, friends of mine who were in ministry, who are just saying they don’t believe, or they’re walking away,” says Chan. “And I just think that’s crazy. We’re seeing people that we look up to, leaders, fall. We’re seeing the world look at evangelical Christianity as an absolute joke right now. Every day you can just jump on Instagram … and someone is saying, ‘I’m not a Christian anymore.'”

Kevin Sorbo: Facebook Deleted My Page Because I’m a Conservative Christian

When Facebook deleted Christian actor Kevin Sorbo’s page, the giant tech conglomerate said it was because he was spreading debunked information about COVID-19. They also claimed to have given him two fair warnings before pulling the plug on his account.

“That’s not true,” Sorbo says.

On this episode of FaithWorks podcast on the Charisma Podcast Network, Sorbo shares a different version of the story—one in which he took down every post Facebook asked him to yet was still punished.

Can You Be Spirit-Filled Without Speaking in Tongues?

I was raised old-school charismatic style! I grew up with my parents playing Kenneth Copeland’s cassette tapes in our beat-up car radio on the way to work. (Anyone else remember saving an unraveled cassette with a pencil in hand, after a cheap radio attacked it?) I can still hear the familiar crackle as that radio belted out the principles we lived by every day.

Friday nights were family prayer times. Everyone got together to tarry until the power came. Anyone who is following me here knows this one thing: Speaking in tongues was part and parcel of the charismatic circle. Truthfully, you never felt like you had arrived until you could join in the crescendo of passionate tongues as praise and worship came to an end during Sunday morning service.

You can well imagine then how stuck I felt being one of the only family members who just never got Spirit-filled.

State Government Bullying: ‘Make No Mistake, This Is a Second Holocaust’

Thousands of Orange County residents publicly made their outrage known about the objective of a mandatory vaccination and exploitation of their children by public school and county officials. As a result, both the Orange County Board of Supervisors and the Orange County Board of Education passed resolutions last week by a 4-1 margin, halting local government and bureaucratic encroachment and overreach under the aegis of vaccinations and digital vaccine passports.

Orange County human rights attorney Leigh Dundas addressed in no uncertain terms the despotic hectoring and blue state government bullying: “Make no mistake, this a second holocaust, my friends. Hitler did not start by burning people in ovens; that’s where he ended. The first thing he did to consolidate power is that he closed ‘nonessential’ businesses, as did Gov. Newsom in my state [California]. The second thing he did was to close schools because they are the heart of the family.

James Goll: 15 Keys for Interpreting Your Dreams

Walking in the prophetic language of dreams is a form of tapping into the mind and heart of God and can be an exciting and exhilarating journey. But understanding and interpreting your dreams and other revelatory spiritual encounters can often be a complex and even confusing process.

I encourage you above all else to keep interpretation simple! Keep the big picture of the dream and overarching theme in mind.

With too much detail you could miss the interpretation. This is a lot like not seeing the forest for the trees.

Here are some basic principles of dream interpretation presented in concise statements that will help bring clarity to the revelation you receive.

15 Keys for Interpreting Your Dreams

— Most of all, dreams should be interpreted on a personal basis first (John 10:3).

— Most dreams should not be taken literally. They need interpretation (Dan. 1:17; Gen. 40:8).

— God will use familiar terms that you know (Matt. 4:19).

— Ponder on the dream or revelation and ask the Holy Spirit for insight (Daniel 7:8, 8:15-16; Luke 2:19; 1 Cor. 2:12-14).

— Ask the Holy Spirit what the central thought, word or issue is in the revelation. Reduce the dream to its simplest form. What is the main thought?

— Search it out in the Word. Dreams from the Lord will never go against His written Word (Prov. 25:2).

— What did you sense and feel from the dream? Was it a good or evil presence? What was the primary emotion?

— Relate the dream to your circumstances and spheres of influence.

— Consecutive dreams often have similar meanings (Gen. 41:1-7, 25-31). God will speak the same message more than once in more than one way.

— What are the colors? Is everything black and white with one main object in color?

—Interpretations can be on three levels: personal, church or national and international.

— More than one interpretation can come forth in one dream. Just as with Scripture, there is the historical context as well as the personal, present implication. So it is with dreams. It might be a general word for the church with specific applications for yourself (or others).

— Some dreams may only be understood in the future. They unfold over time. Details will make sense down the road.

— Write down in a journal the summary; date it; write down where you were, the time (if you woke up from it), the main emotions and a possible interpretation.

— The key to proper interpretation is to ask questions, questions, questions!

Dream Interpretations Belong to God

Finally, remember that dreams are significant to all.

To receive a dream is the first step of a divine purpose moving from the mind of God to become reality in human history.

Dreams and visions are where space and time are pushed away, where God allows our inner selves to see beyond and behind the conscious plane and where possibilities and hopes come out unrestricted by natural limitations.

Remember, God wants to help you with interpreting your dreams. So don’t forget to invite Him into the process.

Father, we know that dreams and visions and their interpretations belong to You. With honor coupled with a deep hunger, we ask You to give us Your wisdom applications to understand the revelation you are giving us, in Jesus’ great name, amen.

Keep interpretation simple!

Prophetic Word: The Lord Wants You to Use Your Voice to Advance the Kingdom

I was in a time of prayer recently when the Lord began to speak to me about becoming a voice. I believe this word was not just for me but for many in the body of Christ in this hour.

As the Lord spoke to me about becoming a voice, He revealed to me that our voice is not just about our words, but also about the influence God has given each of us. You may never preach or teach for the people God has placed in your realm of influence; your voice may be the way you carry yourself and how you live your life. Your lifestyle and character can be much louder than your voice or your words when you are called to impact people.

I don’t care who you are, where you are or what you do for a living, God has called you to impact those around you. You have a voice! You may look around you and think you have no influence, but you do.

Never underestimate how God may use you as a voice into other people’s lives to advance His kingdom. If you are a believer, you are called to make an impact. Never discredit what or who God has placed in front of you. God will use you to influence the atmosphere and people around you. You may be the only chance some have to encounter God. Let the Lord use you as a voice to draw people to Himself!

You have a voice, and you have influence; use them for the kingdom of God. The Lord is looking for those who will pour into those around them; offering discernment, wisdom and guidance that only someone walking with Him can offer others. Parents, you should be the voice in your children’s lives!

God is calling parents to raise their children with an awareness and understanding of His ways. Be the voice in your children’s lives. Don’t depend on teachers, pastors or other influences in your children’s lives to guide them. You are the most important voice in your children’s lives. God has equipped you to protect, lead, teach and guide your children into the plans God has for them.

As you become a voice and God elevates your level of influence, you will need to find voices to speak into your life that you can trust. Find those that are full of character and integrity who have walked with the Lord through many seasons and give them a voice into your life. Each of us needs other voices to give us wisdom, pray for us and help us on our journey toward our destiny.

You will not complete your purpose or have the impact God has called for you to have if you do not seek out and listen to the right godly voices. Be careful to what and whom you listen. Ask the Lord for greater discernment, and you will be a voice He uses to influence those to whom He has called you.

Get ready to become a voice that advances the kingdom of God. God is about to elevate and amplify those whose voices are pure and those who carry His heart and His power to those around them! {eoa}

Prophetic Pastor Chris Reed to Succeed Rick Joyner as CEO of MorningStar Ministries

Spiritually, MorningStar Ministries Founder Rick Joyner connected with Pastor Chris Reed right from the start. From the time the two met in the Spring of 2020, both realized they had the same ministry vision and the same vision for what God was going to do worldwide in the near future.

It comes as little surprise then that Reed, lead pastor of Apostolic Revival Center in Peru, Indiana, has agreed to take over as his Joyner’s successor at MorningStar in Fort Mill, South Carolina, beginning at the end of June.

The two met through a mutual friend and Joyner knew immediately that Reed, who was chosen as the pastor at Apostolic Revival Center 12 years ago at the tender age of 25, was the man to hand the reins of his ministry to when he decided to step down.

“We hit it off right away. It was just a great connection,” Reed says on a recent episode of the Strang Report podcast. “Rick and I just see eye to eye on so many things. He is a great spiritual father. His writings speak for themselves.

“But his style, his addressing of current events and what he loves, just fit my personality. Basically, for the rest of 2020 and into 2021, I was invited to speak at their conferences, including their advanced prophetic conferences. In the course of all of this, about three months ago, he and I sat down and just talked about what we envisioned God was doing in the future. We both felt like God was calling me there as to be his successor. We both just knew, and peace was the guide for me.

“And, of course, my wife and children were completely on board and so it was just that continuity of peace within our family. It’s just a natural fit. Not only am I the right age to be his biological son, but certainly a spiritual son. I’m going to be working with him and training with him. However long this transition is, we’re just going to let the Lord lead it.”

Reed and his wife, Melissa, have six children.

Reed’s extended family has been involved in the Pentecostal movement since the 1930s. After receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit at eight, Reed felt the call to minister at 12 and he began accepting invitations to speak for the Lord at 15. At 19, he began serving as an assistant/associate pastor while simultaneously evangelizing and speaking at more than 200 churches, revivals and crusades.

He took over as the lead pastor at Apostolic Revival Center in 2009 and, since that time, hundreds have been baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit.

Reed is a young prophet that has caught the attention of people like IHOPKC’s Mike Bickle. Joyner designated Reed as his successor in the same way that Daniel Kolenda succeeded Reinhard Bonnke at Christ for all Nations in Orlando, Florida.

Reed says he has already made numerous visits to MorningStar and has familiarized himself with the inner workings of the Joyner’s prophetic ministry. Joyner’s character and demeanor are other things that drew him to MorningStar.

“The thing that really impressed me the most is just the integrity and character of how things were done when I was there, and just how people treated one another and the sincerity,” Reed says. “The thing I like about Rick, too, is something very important I’ve learned from him. In the last year, the way he has responded to conflict and criticism, to difficulty, is different than anyone I’ve ever met in my life. That has really stood out to me in a positive way—it has impacted me.”

When fall rolls around, Reed says he and his team have big plans for MorningStar Ministries. He hopes to build an army—God’s army—of prophetic voices to impact the nations.

“As far as our vision goes, in September, we plan to expand MorningStar University,” Reed says. “I’m going to be doing a school of the prophets. Basically, what that consists of is every month for nine months starting in September, there will be a three-day intensive of me teaching all things prophetic. There are going to be people there in person, but they are also going to be able to participate online too.

“We’re not trying to appeal to just anybody that’s interested in prophecy. We are wanting to see God raise up a group of prophetic voices, not just one man standing out in a generation. We want a company of people with integrity, who know how to hear the voice of God and that can speak to social leaders, social media leaders and political leaders, just like in the Bible,” Reed continues. “Daniel 5:12 spoke of how Daniel was learned in dreams and dream interpretation and knowledge and wisdom so much that Nebuchadnezzar listened to what he had to say in the same way Pharaoh did with Moses and Joseph. So, with this school of the prophets, I’m really excited.

“We’re expecting tremendous things for MorningStar with its prophetic roots and it being a prophetic ministry,” Reed says. “God is doing big things there. I know it’s just going to become even more relevant as time goes on.” {eoa}

Are You Devout or Dangerous?

“Are you devout? Or are you dangerous?” That is the question Pastor Mike Signorelli of V1 Church poses in his latest teaching from Pentecost Sunday.

Signorelli takes us to Acts 2 to set up the scene for Pentecost. There we see the fire of the Holy Spirit come upon the believers in the upper room, which led the devout men dwelling in the city around them to be amazed and astonished at those who to them were mere Galileans, simple, uneducated men. The difference between the devout men and the dangerous ones was that the devout had a spirit of religion, whereas the dangerous ones were filled with the Holy Spirit.

Signorelli reminds us that Satan does a lot of our devout practices too. Satan read the Bible. Satan knows Jesus, and he attends most local churches every week! So what takes you from devout to dangerous? Doing the will of the Father.

In Mark 16:15, Jesus gives us a mandate to “go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.” Signorelli points out that it doesn’t say go to church or a Bible study, or go post a carefully curated video on Tik Tok—but go into all the world. He says this will then make you desperate to go to church so that you can be refilled and equipped!

He goes on to make a bold statement that, “Being a Christian who doesn’t tell non-Christians what Christ did for them makes the most miserable existence possible.”

So we’ll ask again, “Do you want to be devout, or do you want to be dangerous?”

Chip, Joanna Gaines Attacked Online for Donation to Sister’s School Board Campaign

Home renovation stars Chip and Joanna Gaines have come under fire online for a donation the couple made toward a family member’s campaign for a local school board.

Chip donated $1,000 to his sister, Shannon Braun, to support her run for a spot on the board of the Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District, per The Dallas Morning News.

When media got wind of the gift, critics sounded off against the Christian couple, alleging the monetary donation directly supported Braun’s views on critical race theory (the idea that racism is a social construct embedded in systems and policies). In a recent campaign post, Braun condemned the theory, saying the focus will be instead on a return of teaching “academics.”

Many news outlets used Braun’s condemnation of the hot-button topic in headlines, though her campaign page makes no overt reference to the theory, nor is it a major part of her slogan.

NBC News highlighted the connection, as did commentary site the Friendly Atheist, among others.

One social media user pointed out the irony of the Fixer Upper stars facing repercussions for supporting their family.

Another agreed, coming to the Gaineses’ defense. “It’s his sister,” they wrote. “He gave a grand to his sister who is running for school board. Though I can see why those who work at The Hill would be wildly confused about not hating your family.”

Others were more critical, with Dallas Observer reporter Paige Skinner writing both a condemning article and a social media post calling for fans to stop giving the couple their money.

Many followed this advice, tweeting they would be discontinuing their support for the Gaineses’ various products, and in some cases, including subscriptions to Discovery+, where the Magnolia Network is hosted.

The couple’s past charitable donations have supported many organizations, such as the renovation project to rebuild a new emergency girls shelter that Chip and Joanna supported at the start of 2021.

Both have been outspoken about their faith, which has often brought criticism, like the 2016 Buzzfeed News article chastising their attendance at a church that upholds biblical views of marriage and sexuality.

Like fans and conservatives coming to their defense today, the Gaineses’ pastor then lauded their strong faith after 15 years of friendship. “They are tremendous people with tremendous values, and I’ve known them for many, many years,” he said.

He then continued with a poignant admonition for believers to rally around the Gaineses, echoing the support currently being showed as news about the latest attack against the couple spreads.

“Support one another when people make stands,” he said. “Don’t leave them out there alone. Let’s get behind them and support them and love them and pray for them.” {eoa}
