President Trump: Racist or Reformer?

Christian voters must answer this question at the ballot box on Tuesday, Nov. 3. If Trump were a racist, he would not deserve Black, Hispanic and Asian support. Contrariwise, if the secular prophets of Baal (Marxist organizations and the progressive media) are simply magnifying Trump’s personality over his policies in order to control the minority electorate with deception, Trump should be supported.

I emphatically believe that President Trump is a powerful advocate for social change that counts for all Americans. I have purposely worked behind the scenes with this administration for over five years. I have not been a paid spokesperson nor an advocate for Trump’s administration. I have, however, worked for the interests of the poor and disenfranchised, especially minorities. Time will only allow me to share a brief assessment of Donald J. Trump and his administration.

In late August 2017, just 10 days after the murder of 32-year-old Heather Heyer by white supremacist James Fields, I met with President Trump in the White House with 25 evangelical leaders. We discussed the attempts to brand him as a racist. I looked him in the eye and agreed with the entire company that I knew he is not a racist. I have recognized over the years how much compassion he has for Americans stuck in dead-end situations. To give just one example of the millions of people touched by Trump’s policies and his personal actions, Jon Ponder, a former bank robber turned minister, received a full pardon during the Republican National Convention.

Also, earlier this year, I was invited back to the White House to share a special Good Friday prayer on April 10, 2020. I could discern the weight of the responsibility that the president carried. As millions watched and prayed in agreement, I recognized how badly all Americans need to seek the Lord’s divine intervention and national healing.

Further, I recognized that President Trump didn’t start the ethnic wars we faced, neither did he originate the COVID-19 pandemic. He does, however, have a unique opportunity to create a foundation for positive change in the arenas of police reform, health care, and healing the racial divide in our nation. This president will either be praised or blamed based on the results he can produce now.

No American presidential candidate has ever endured such visceral hatred as has been levied against President Donald J. Trump. All Americans are immersed in a war of words like nothing I have ever seen in my lifetime.

As we approach November 2020, Black voters have begun paying more attention than ever to what the candidates are saying. They are listening beyond the rhetoric and catch phrases—and they’re not satisfied with what they’re being offered by their party of record.

They have also noticed a strong economy and historically low Black unemployment rates prior to the fallout from COVID-19. Many have been surprised by how Trump has supported minority small businesses, historically Black colleges and universities, and passage of criminal justice reform.

In my recently released book, A Manifesto: Christian America’s Contract with Minorities, I attempt to give America a way forward through today’s complicated terrain. In this work, we combine American history with today’s demographics concerning all the major ethnic groups.

An old adage says, “Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it.” We are once again at a season in the U.S. when the church must lead the way in advancing our nation’s ideals.

We need a biblically based Marshall Plan-like road map for U.S. urban development.

The Marshall Plan was a strategic initiative passed in 1948 that offered U.S. aid to Western Europe. The four-year program dedicated over $12 billion to economic recovery programs after the end of World War II. Its primary goal was to prevent the spread of communism and create prosperous free countries in Europe. The blighted urban communities of America have needed such a plan for years. President Trump’s Opportunity Zones concept offers the first realistic attempt to tackle urban problems that I have ever seen.

Black activism alone cannot transform the nation quickly enough to avert further traumatic damage to our culture. Blacks must link hands with Hispanics, Asians and next-generation whites to redefine our destination. A simple acrostic “empowered” makes the nine strategic points of the plan easily memorable.

My prayer for President Donald J. Trump is that an army of evangelical Christians of multiple ethnicities will discern his heart and give him the opportunity to finish what he has started. In addition, I pray that he refine “A Manifesto” and catapult America forward toward the godly goals enshrined in our Constitution, our founding documents and the Bible. And above all, may God bless America and direct us into a more perfect union. {eoa}

Why Abortion Is Not Consistent With Christianity

The gospel calls all people to live radically new and transformed lives for God. Throughout the Scriptures, we hear God say to each of us, “I have called you by your name; you are Mine” (Isa. 43:1c).

But because God calls each of us by name to live for Him, Christians have a duty to protect, uphold, defend and care for every single human life. That means Christians absolutely cannot tolerate abortion in any form.

Yet that’s not the message you’ll hear from a lot of pastors in America today. Just recently, Pastor Raphael Warnock went on the record saying abortion is consistent with God’s will for Christians. He claimed that God supports exercising “human agency and freedom” in the decision to abort an unborn life. In his view, abortion is not just licit in extreme circumstances; it is a human right that God calls Christians to respect.

He couldn’t be more wrong.

I’m sure you’ve heard a version of Warnock’s argument many times before. Abortion, so the story goes, is a form of “reproductive health care.” And doesn’t God call us to care for the sick and the suffering and protect each other’s health? What could be more consistent with Christianity than a commitment to respect a woman’s choice to care for her body?

But this argument falsifies the reality of abortion and ignores the way abortion disrupts God’s plan for us. The fact is that abortion isn’t health care at all. Abortion is the intentional killing of an innocent human life, and it inflicts direct physical harm on both the mother and the unborn child. Moreover, abortion wounds the mental and emotional health of the women who procure it, sowing spiritual confusion and pain throughout families and communities. God does not and would never call on Christians to kill innocent lives and inflict physical and spiritual harm.

Furthermore, abortion dehumanizes the unborn and offends the sacredness of human life. A fetus is neither a clump of cells nor a burdensome health problem to be gotten rid of in a clinic. From the moment of conception, every human life is endowed by God with inalienable dignity and worth. As Psalm 139:13b-14a (ESV) proclaims with joy, “You knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am wonderfully and fearfully made.” No human being could ever possibly have a right to kill an unborn life that God has made to praise Him for His greatness and glory.

One of the most touching and awe-inspiring moments in the gospel comes when Mary visits Elizabeth, the mother of John the Baptist. Both women are pregnant at the time: one with the savior of mankind, the other with the holy man who would prepare the way for Jesus’ coming. When Elizabeth heard Mary coming, the baby in her womb “leaped for joy” (Luke 1:44b). Can a clump of cells do that? Is there any clearer statement than this that unborn life participates fully in God’s plan for mankind?

In Pastor Warnock’s view, Elizabeth had a human right to say no to the life growing inside of her womb. She had a right to exercise her “human agency and freedom” to exterminate the joy she carried within her. But nothing in the Bible condones this blatant disregard for God’s design, a plan of salvation that clothes every human life in grace and glory from the moment of conception until the coming resurrection for eternal life. Human beings will always be free to refuse God’s plan and sin against His design. But that doesn’t mean Christians should ever view that sin as compatible with the Christian calling to live and love.

Contrary to popular belief today, abortion is not a neutral act. It is a sin that destroys what God has created. As Christians, we must reject the evil of abortion and live our love for each other differently than the way the world wants us to. The world says abortion is a form of care. We Christians must firmly attest that it is not. {eoa}

Living Victoriously in Trying Times Requires This Precious Gift

“My brothers, count it all joy when you fall into diverse temptations, knowing that the trying of your faith develops patience. But let patience perfect its work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing” (James 1:2-4)

Smith Wigglesworth, apostle of faith in a previous generation said, “There’s something about faith that causes God to pass over hundreds of people to get to you!”

Derek Prince, apostle of faith in our generation, said, “Faith is the channel that makes God’s possibilities available to us. Through faith, all that is possible to God becomes equally possible to us. No wonder that, from beginning to end, the Bible consistently emphasizes the unique and supreme importance of faith.”

Jesus told us, “With God all things are possible” (Matt.19:26b) and “All things are possible to him who believes” (Mark 9:23b). Stated simply: As never before, we need the gift of faith!

Finally, Scripture emphasizes the centrality of faith when it tells us, “And without faith it is impossible to please God, for he who comes to God must believe that He exists and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him” (Heb.11:6).

These are days of cataclysmic upheaval unprecedented in America’s history. From the COVID-19 pandemic to economic disasters, plus racial discord, anarchy, riots and looting we battle uncertainty, fear, anxiety, sickness and stressful situations on every side. We need faith with a capital F to emerge victorious.

As we face the most consequential election in America’s history, we’d better make sure our faith is not categorized as “weak,” “shipwrecked” or “little” as the Gospels describe some people’s faith. May we be like the man Jesus commended, declaring that He was “amazed” at his level of faith: “Truly I say to you, I have not found such great faith” (Matt. 8:10b).

As the clock is ticking on the 2020 presidential election, Christians need to be strong with supernatural faith! Think of faith as a muscle that needs to be developed consistently so we emerge victorious amidst life’s trials.

America Will Now Go 1 of 2 Ways

1. Traditional America upholding 400-year Judeo-Christian heritage led (amidst strident opposition) by those honoring our Constitution, capitalism and conservatism.

2. A leftist, socialist, “progressive” nation of centralized government, censorship increase and curtailed freedoms.

Deteriorating Democrat–led cities like Portland, Seattle, Minneapolis, Chicago, Baltimore, San Francisco, New York and Los Angeles show our future if righteous and patriotic Americans yield to apathy or silence in this serious and pivotal time.

Scores of people who surround us in our neighborhoods, schools, offices and circle of family and friends have been seduced by socialism believing propaganda of Marxist politicians declaring we must dismantle America, destroy her exceptional image, defund police and decide Marxism is America’s utopian future.

The brutal reality is that we are facing an avalanche of politicians, celebrities, athletes and media activists (posing as journalists) embracing a secular, socialist, anti-God vision that will literally destroy America as we’ve known her since our inception 400 years ago. {eoa}

It was in 1620 that the pilgrims came fleeing religious persecution in England, saying they came “for the glory of God and the advancement of the Christian faith.” Revisionists want to eviscerate this reality and remove our heritage to reshape America after a Marxist ideology camouflaged as a new “progressive” vision for the future of America.

Build Your Faith to Stand Strong and Live as an Overcomer

Christians and conservatives across America are being stirred by God at this time. Men and women who love God and America are being awakened to recognize the massive deception intended to undermine our covenant heritage and transform America into a godless, socialist country.

Like David facing Goliath or Joshua facing the formidable walls of Jericho, we are experiencing an awakening as the clock moves towards midnight.

Recently I asked one of the premier apostolic leaders in the realm of balanced, biblical faith if he’d be willing to serve multitudes of ready and responsive Christians by using his incredible gift of faith to impart supernatural faith to us for what is rapidly approaching like a freight train coming down the tracks. Desperate times require unusual levels of faith to vanquish discouragement, pull down strongholds and “be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world” (Phil. 2:15, ESV).

In my years of ministry, apart from somebody like the late Kenneth Hagin or Ken Copeland, I’ve never met anyone able to equip and inspire believers in the realm of faith like Bob Weiner. I’ve been his close friend for over 45 years and I asked if he’d be willing to share on the four podcasts embedded in this article amidst these extremely trying times.

He and his wife, Rose, authored the classic Bible Studies for a Firm Foundation, reaching over a million worldwide, and Bob has traveled the globe for decades inspiring Christians to live the overcomer’s life of faith.

Bob graciously accepted, and the result is some dynamic teaching and exhortation to enable you to be an end-time overcomer in these days. I promise you an exhilarating experience in the realm of faith for whatever you’re experiencing.

Here’s the deal: I encourage you to buckle your spiritual seat belt and lay hold of the revelation in these four accompanying podcasts during these challenging times. Partake of Bob Weiner’s unique gift in his proclamation. Believe like David when he said, “I believe I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living” (Ps. 27:13, MEV). {eoa}

Steve Strang: The Left Will Do Anything to Win

Editor’s Note: I wanted to share this important interview with all of my readers. Please read, watch and share with any friends, family or others who may not yet understand the essential nature of this fall’s election. —Steve Strang

Charisma Media Founder and CEO Stephen Strang appeared on Financial Issues With Dan Celia this week to discuss his most recent book, God, Trump and COVID-19. The two had a far-ranging discussion that included not only insights from the book but about what Strang says is “our most important election ever” and why Christians must turn out to support Donald Trump’s reelection.

As Celia introduced his guest, he asked listeners, “You need to hear more truth, right?”, touting Strang as a proclaimer of truth through his books. The four he has written include the bestselling God, Trump and the 2020 Election as well as what Strang said is “Part B” to that book, God, Trump and COVID-19. This latest work, Strang said, includes well-researched information about the COVID-19 pandemic, which had not happened when he wrote the original book.

“Christians in some ways have been under siege for the last 50 years,” Strang said as part of a discussion on the impact COVID-19 has had on First Amendment rights. The shutdown resulting from the pandemic has revealed “what these left-wing politicians would do. They were just too quick, too gleeful, to happy to shut down the church,” he said, adding that in the spread of lies and misinformation, “there are people who will do anything to defeat Donald Trump.”

Watch the entire video here to gain more insights from Strang—and more truth about the coming election. {eoa}

You Do Not Exploit Children to Teach That Exploiting Children Is Wrong

The Babylon Bee headline is satirical, but, based on the logic of Netflix, it might as well be true: “New Netflix Movie Actually Murders Puppies To Teach That Murdering Puppies Is Bad.” Or, to move from satire to reality and create our own headline, “New Netflix Movie Actually Exploits Young Girls Sexually to Teach That Sexually Exploiting Young Girls Is Wrong.”

Yes, in order to defend the indefensible, Netflix has argued that, “Cuties is a social commentary against the sexualization of young children. It’s an award-winning film and a powerful story about the pressure young girls face on social media and from society more generally growing up—and we’d encourage anyone who cares about these important issues to watch the movie.”

And what will viewers discover when they watch the movie? They will see with their own eyes the sexual exploitation of little girls.

You can read for yourself just how vulgar, explicit and degrading some of the scenes are. I find it too distasteful even to print the detailed descriptions here, let alone imagine casting little girls to film these scenes—scenes which will be watched by millions of people. How can this be justified? And can you imagine your own daughters or granddaughters cast in these roles?

We understand that the movie ultimately speaks against the sexual exploitation of children. But, to repeat, you do not exploit those very children to make your point.

In the Babylon Bee satirical story (which has gone viral, for good reason), “Netflix is embroiled in controversy yet again with its new documentary Puppy Murder, a show where the director kills puppies to teach you that murdering puppies is bad.

“The movie is just two hours of puppies being brutally murdered onscreen, sending a powerful message to the viewer about just how bad puppy murder is. From getting shot and stabbed to being run over with a steamroller and the inspiring climactic scene where a puppy is dropped into a volcano, the movie unequivocally and powerfully shows the brutal reality of puppy murder.”

As for those who have a problem with Puppy Murder, they are described as “‘triggered conservatives’ and ‘scandal-mongers’ since they obviously just didn’t get the message of the film, which very clearly teaches that puppy murder is bad.”

But once again, the Babylon Bee‘s biting satire is too true to be funny, as evidenced by an editorial by Sam Thielman on NBC News. In it, he claims that, “Criticism of Netflix’s ‘Cuties’ isn’t about the movie. It’s a cynical ploy in the culture war.” (To repeat: This was printed on NBC News rather than on a satirical site. The same holds true for the quotes that follow. I am not taking them out of context or twisting them at all. This is from NBC News.)

Thielman describes Cuties as a “sweet-spirited French coming-of-age drama” while characterizing controversy over the movie as “what may be the single dumbest battle of the culture wars.” (He also tells us the film is “very funny” and “very witty.”)

As for those who openly oppose Cuties, Thielman calls them “the pedophile-obsessed American right, driven by QAnon.”

Did you get that, offended moms and dads? Did you get that, morally grieved Americans? You are simply “the pedophile-obsessed American right, driven by QAnon.”

Yes, you are the ones with the problem.

Not the directors and producers and screenwriters. Not the dance instructors and costume designers. Not the parents of the little girls who allegedly brought their children by the hundreds to audition.

No, it is you are obsessed and perverted. All of this reminds me of Isaiah 5:20: “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil, who exchange darkness for light, and light for darkness, who exchange bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”

And so, in condescending terms, Thielman must lecture us ignorant, pathetic moral conservatives: “It is, annoyingly, important to state plainly that Cuties does not portray child abuse, it does not glorify or countenance pedophilia in any way and it does not ‘sexualize’ its characters—which is, to put it plainly, a favorite description of people so disturbed by their own reaction to a piece of art that they have to quickly plant the blame for that reaction on the artist before anyone notices. Doucouré’s movie is about platonic relationships between women and girls; there is no sexuality to be had anywhere in this movie, which makes the outrage over it seem all the more extraterrestrial.”

Go back and read the descriptions of some of the movie’s most graphic scenes or watch some of the clips that have been released online, and then read Thielman’s paragraph once more. There is no sexualizing of these little girls? Really?

I’m quite aware of the QAnon conspiracy theories (a colleague of mine is about to release the first definitive exposé of QAnon). And I know that sometimes, our moral indignation can be shallow or even hypocritical.

But there’s a reason that “Rep. Ken Buck, R-Colo., sent a letter to the Department of Justice on Monday raising concerns about Netflix’s new film Cuties.”

Just like you don’t murder puppies on screen to illustrate how evil puppy murder is, you don’t exploit young girls on screen to illustrate how evil their exploitation is.

How can anyone with a working moral compass question this? Or perhaps I just answered my question: All too many do not have a working moral compass. God help us. {eoa}

How You Can Release Prophetic Anointing at any Time

Today the Holy Spirit in all His fullness is being sent forth into the entire world as believers who are filled with His Spirit release His prophetic anointing, bringing impact and influence everywhere they go.

Jesus dispatched His disciples to “go therefore and make disciples of all nations” (Matt. 28:19a) carrying the light of the world.

Great Diversity of Prophetic Anointing

I cannot emphasize enough how big God is.

We see an almost bewildering variety of gifts, anointings, ministries and combinations across the body of Christ.

Yet even with such diversity, everything is under the governance of the same Lord: “There are various gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. There are various operations, but it is the same God who operates all of them in all people” (1 Cor. 12:4-6).

What is an anointing, anyway?

I define an anointing as the supernatural “enablement,” grace and manifest presence of the Holy Spirit operating upon or through an individual or group to produce the works of Jesus.

Such a supernatural enablement or grace brings the presence of the Holy Spirit to bear upon countless situations.

Energized by the same God and Father, prophetic believers bring forth a wide variety of gifts, ministries and effects—always under the direction of the Spirit of the Lord God.

The way the Holy Spirit manifests Himself will look different in its expression from culture to culture, race to race, country to country and from one denomination to another. That is to be expected—and celebrated!

We have a great big God who can reach into all of the hidden places, public and private, with His love and power.

Our part is to collaborate with Him.

We hold on to the Lord Jesus, who was anointed by His Father God, as we operate under His anointing.

With Him, we continue His works: “God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him” (Acts 10:38).

“The anointing” is not some big, unattainable entity. It is something more like a Play-Doh factory—at least that is the way I have come to see it.

Regardless of the kind of person you are and whatever tools God has hidden within you, He can mold and shape you for His divine purposes.

You just have to make yourself available to Him and stay malleable.

You see, as long as everything you do points back to Jesus and encourages others, you do not have to get tied up in trying to figure out which prophetic “category” you fall into. In all likelihood, it will keep changing anyway.

The prophetic is just not as narrow of a track as I used to think it was.

We’re finally moving away from the idea that the prophetic is about platform. Rather, it is about stewardship of what God has given each one of us.

Some of us have been placed in the church to minister mostly to the rest of the body of Christ. Others have been anointed as “sent ones” to reach into the secular community outside the church.

Carrying the Prophetic Everywhere

In the past few years, I have been prophesying and teaching about “kingdom consultants” or “prophetic solutionists”—prophetic men and women whose ministry is not confined to the “church mountain,” but rather, extends into a wide variety of secular settings. Their expertise and sensitivity to the Spirit enable them to advise, influence and effect change (sometimes at high levels) in government, economy, education, media and more.

These anointed men and women of God are part of the church but not stuck there.

God gives them moments of prophetic revelation that can be turned into movements of prophetic reformation.

They are kingdom administrators, shedding the powerful light of God into dark places that up to that time have been devoid of kingdom influence.

They possess keen insight and they develop inspired strategies that make true kingdom-oriented reformation possible in places that may never have uttered the name of Jesus.

They are walking in the footsteps of the great ones such as Joseph, Daniel, Esther, Ezra and Nehemiah.

They find themselves in situations not of their own choosing, but they recognize that they have been positioned by God “for such a time as this” (Esth. 4:14).

Like Queen Esther, they take it upon themselves to surrender to God’s guidance and come up with radical solutions, sometimes sticking their necks out and taking big risks.

Kingdom consultants do not have to be queens, priests or rulers themselves. In a way, God calls all of us to be kingdom consultants, if we take the Great Commission seriously (see Matt. 28:18-20).

Where Are You Called?

As you proceed through your life, relating to people in your workplace or sphere of influence, you are called to spread kingdom influence.

The only way you can do it is with the King’s assistance. You are a conduit of His love and power.

Over time, God can use you to bring urgently needed changes to the world outside of the church.

As a vessel of the prophetic anointing, you are called to release the revelation God gives you to allow God’s presence to make an impact wherever things would otherwise remain isolated from Him.

As a prophetic individual, just make yourself available to God and stay flexible.

You never know when God will use your words to bring kingdom influence—one day you might discover it was a whole lot more than you realized!

It’s time to release your prophetic anointing everywhere you go! {eoa}

What’s Going on in the Theater of Your Mind?

In this episode of Global Outpouring on the Charisma Podcast Network, Sharon and Philip Buss tackle the things of this world that seek to take our attention away from God. Ultimately, they say it comes down to recognizing what you love. Once you do that, you’ll be able to see where the devil will target you and try to use against you.

Philip puts it this way. An article he read a while ago, “had a picture of somebody sitting there. And it had a theater screen in their mind. And the title of the article is ‘What’s Going on in the Theater of Your Mind?'”

He thought, Oh wow. I’ve never heard it put that way before.

And he says, “But that’s why our mind is like; it’s like a screen. What are you looking at? You know, what are you feeding yourself? And then what what’s going on in your mind?”

When this becomes the principle for how you take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Cor. 10:5), you are brought into better alignment with God’s will for your life.

For more on how you can identify the roots of evil in your world and combat them, listen to the full podcast here. {eoa}

Curt Landry: ‘Keep Your Lamps Filled and Wicks Trimmed’

With the Fall Feasts upon us—Rosh Hashanah begins Friday evening—Curt Landry draws upon the Parable of the 10 Virgins in Matthew 25 as a “wake-up call” for believers who have simply been going through the motions with their relationship with Christ.

As the founder of Curt Landry Ministry and a man of Jewish heritage, Landry says that now, more than ever, believers need to begin preparing themselves for what will happen when Yeshua comes again in His glory.

“It’s the Parable of the Virgins; five were wise and ready and five were not,” Landry told Dr. Steve Greene on a recent episode of Greenelines on the Charisma Podcast Network. “I would say to anybody right now that you need to keep your lamps filled and your wicks trimmed. So, be ready.

“Even in modern-day culture in Israel today, if you’re in a religious Jewish family, you’re getting ready, like it’s a wedding. … They will have one of the younger messengers go out, and they have a shofar, and he’ll be blowing the shofar. Then he will have another young man with him, and they literally are saying this in Hebrew, ‘Behold, the bridegroom cometh.’ …

“This a forerunner of what’s going to happen during the one of the years of the Fall Feasts. Literally the heavens are going to break open and Yeshua is going to come, and He is going to be on His horse with his armies, and they are going to be descending upon Jerusalem. These weddings are literally like previews of coming attractions—what is to come.

“One of the things I’ll be teaching this year in the Fall Feasts … I have a teaching style that I call ACT … ACT. That means apply, change and transform. So, for Rosh Hashanah, you apply an awakening. At this appointed time, I will choose to awaken my soul. There has got to be a place where you understand the bad choices of sin that has robbed you from the benefits of God.

“That’s what repentance is all about. Repentance is disconnecting from the bad choices that have stolen your blessings and reconnecting to your righteousness in Him to be able to access your blessings. You have to choose to apply that, and Yom Kippur is the change. All of us need to change with two places. We need to know Him as a loving heavenly Father, and we need also to know Him in His court as a just judge. We need to trust Him during the change process. And then, Sukkot discourses the wedding celebration, where we choose to abide in Him for the coming year.”

Prophetic Warning: Seducing Spirits Are Feeding on Your Pain

This is a warning to those who feel victimized, oppressed or disenfranchised. Be careful what you give your allegiance to and where you put your focus. Your quest for justice is opening the door to seducing spirits.

Our culture is screaming at you to voice your pain. If you have felt victimized, you are being told that justice will be only found by pouring out the wrongs you have suffered and the inequalities endured by the sins of others. Whether it’s racial discrimination, gender bias, financial disproportion or some other personal disappointment, your constant declaration of injustice is supposed to somehow set you free. Instead, this misguided devotion to your pain is leading you into a trap. Any bitter offense against others and any need for validation has made you easy prey for seducing spirits. In focusing on your wounds and recounting the wrongs done, you are only feeding demons and nullifying the cross.

“Now the Spirit clearly says that in the last times some will depart from the faith and pay attention to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their consciences seared with a hot iron” (1 Tim. 4:1-2).

In a dream a few nights ago, I was approached by a seducing spirit. But it was not coming through some rebel on the street—it was coming through a pastor. As he stood beside me and looked me in the eyes, I felt the pull as he was giving me his undivided attention and admiration. He then said, “Just say it! You know you want to.”

I knew what he wanted me to say. He wanted me to tell him, “I love you.” He was drawing from a deep need I had to feel recognized and cared for. I could also tell that he was in a weakened condition. My declaration of devotion to him was like a drug that strengthened and empowered his hold over me. Even though I knew it was wrong, the attention he gave and the sense of personal gratification I received was greater than my conscience.

So, I said, “I love you” and repeated it as if on cue. Eventually, this seducing spirit led me into a dark place where I only felt shame and remorse with no way out. Declaring my allegiance to him did not bring the freedom I hoped for. It merely put me in greater bondage and separated from the power of Christ. Upon waking, I knew this was a word for believers to recognize the seducing spirits among us and renounce their hold.

The doctrines of demons are not just theological deceptions; they are counterfeit causes. Unmet needs, misplaced expectations and bitter wounds from our past are like magnets to the demonic realm. They feed on our bitterness, keeping us in the dark and separated from the power of the cross. Not only are victims vulnerable to these dark forces, but religious leaders are being manipulated and used by these seducing spirits to deceive and immobilize the saints.

This prophetic dream exposes those church leaders who are being influenced by seducing spirits and leading their flocks into bondage. They may sound spiritual and pious, but they are seeking a reputation among men instead of laying down their lives for the gospel. In hopes of gaining an audience, they are taking up social issues instead of taking up their cross. In hopes of becoming saviors to the disenfranchised, they are supporting the riots instead of praying for deliverance.

These counterfeit champions may appeal to our flesh, but they are destroying our faith. For those who are being drawn into this trap, it’s time to recognize the demonic source and refuse to give it our attention and devotion.

This is a warning from heaven to stop following the seducing spirits among us. We must realize the power we give the enemy when we continually voice our pain. That devotion only serves the devil and will not bring about true justice. The pure message of the gospel is one of repentance, forgiveness and freedom through the cross.

The message of the kingdom brings power and deliverance from any inequality and every scheme of the devil. This can only come by crucifying our flesh and laying down our need for revenge and payback. Let’s stop feeding the lies, find freedom through the cross and give our devotion to the only one worthy of our worship.

“For the time will come when people will not endure sound doctrine, but they will gather to themselves teachers in accordance with their own desires, having itching ears, and they will turn their ears away from the truth and turn to myths. But be self-controlled in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, and prove your ministry” (2 Tim. 4:3-5).
