The Secret Supernatural Root of Your Child’s Nightmares

Night terrors and nightmares are terrifying for children—and can be just as scary for parents. But Josh Hoffert and Streams Ministries’ John E. Thomas believe there might be a supernatural reason for these scary dreams. They explain how you can fight back in this insightful video.

A Prophetic Word for the Expectant Ones: We Are Entering a Season of Miracles!

Pure excitement! When I pray I feel like the Lord is about to release a season of miracles over the body of Christ like we have not seen in a long time. I have never experienced more miracles, signs and wonders manifested in my life. In this season, whenever I pray for someone, I have an expectancy that I’ve never had before. We are seeing miracles break out in church services, on the streets, in restaurants, in stores, over the phone & through people watching videos.

We must remember this Scripture. Luke 10:19 says, “Look, I give you authority.” So let me ask you a question: what are you doing with the authority God has given you? We have access to the power of God through the authority that Jesus has given to us. However, we still have family members, friends, coworkers and even strangers who are walking around bound physically, spiritually, financially and emotionally. What are we doing with the authority God has given to us?

Matthew 8:2-3 says, “And then a leper came and worshipped Him, saying, ‘Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.’ Jesus reached out His hand and touched him, saying, ‘I will. Be clean.’ And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.” Jesus states in this Scripture that He is willing. We need to be so in tune with the Holy Spirit that, in our everyday lives, the Spirit can point us in a certain direction to pray for certain people and expect an immediate result to our prayers. This is the season when we are going to see miracles manifested like never before. I feel the Lord is saying, “What you are experiencing right now is only the beginning of something even greater.”

We must remember the words that Jesus spoke in Mark 10:27: “With men it is impossible, but not with God. For with God all things are possible.” I don’t care how bad the situation looks or how long someone has been in a circumstance—the Word says all things are possible with God. In Luke 18:27, Jesus said, “What is impossible with men is possible with God.” We can never allow our hope to be in man or the things man can do. What the world needs in this hour can only be accomplished by the power of God. We have been delegated authority to call forth miracles in this hour. In Mark 9:23, Jesus says, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” When the believers start to believe and walk in the authority God has given them, we will see people give their lives to the Lord because God will turn their impossible situations around for His glory.

Jeremiah 32:27 says, “I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for Me?” Never allow yourself to judge a situation and say it’s too hard for the hand of God. The Word clearly states nothing is too hard for God.

I love the story of the woman in Matthew 9. People refer to her as the woman who had the flow of blood, but Jesus referred to her as daughter. Many people label others and identify them by their greatest weakness, failure or infirmity. The Lord has two types of people: sons and daughters. When you can see people through the eyes of Jesus and realize every person is a son or daughter of God, you will view them in a different way. Matthew 9:20-22 says, “Then a woman, who was ill with a flow of blood for twelve years, came behind Him and touched the hem of His garment. For she said within herself, ‘If I may just touch His garment, I shall be healed.’ But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her, He said, ‘Daughter, be of good comfort. Your faith has made you well.’ And the woman was made well instantly.”

Authority means delegated power. The Lord gave us delegated power and authority because God wants us to walk in and manifest His miracle-working power in the earth. John 14:12-14 says, “Truly, truly I say to you, he who believes in Me will do the works that I do also. And he will do greater works than these, because I am going to My Father. I will do whatever you ask in My name, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.” People marveled at the life of Jesus. People were amazed by His teachings and the miracles He performed. Jesus told us that He was going to be at the right hand of the Father and God would send the Holy Spirit down to walk with us and dwell with us. Jesus is at the right hand of the Father interceding for you and I today. When we learn how to tap in to what Heaven is saying and agree with the intercession of Jesus, we will see miracles at a whole new level!

Jesus said, “Truly I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. For where two or three are assembled in My name, there I am in their midst” (Matthew 18:18-20). This Scripture shows we have authority to speak on behalf of Heaven and change things in the natural realm. When you declare something, you are calling something forth.

We must have faith to believe what Ephesians 1:19-20 says. I love this scripture in the Passion Translation. It says, “My prayer for you is that every moment you will experience the measureless power of God made available to you through faith. Then your lives will be an advertisement of the immense power as it works through you. This is the explosive and mighty resurrection power that was released when God raised Christ from the dead and exalted him to the place of highest honor and supreme authority in the heavenly realm.” Paul was saying here that God wants us to experience the measureless power of the Spirit working through us when we exercise our faith and use the authority that God has given us. God designed for us to flow in miracles and experience the limitless, measureless power that He has made available to us.

The same power that raised Christ from the dead is in us to perform miracles. We have the authority to call forth physical miracles, spiritual breakthroughs, restoration of marriages, prodigals returning home and mental and emotional healing. This explosive power is available to us when we exercise our faith and use the authority God has given us.

Ephesians 6:10 in the Passion Translation says, “Now finally, my beloved ones, be supernaturally infused with strength through your life-union with the Lord Jesus. Stand victorious with the force of his explosive power flowing in and through you.” When we stand on the foundation of Jesus as our strength, authority and power, we start to see that explosive power begin to manifest in our personal lives. Then it starts to overflow out onto every person that we come in contact with. We will start to shift and change atmospheres as this explosive power flows in and through us. My prayer for you today, my friends, is that you will understand that you are a son or daughter of the Most High God and He has given you authority to walk in the explosive power of His Spirit. Remember Luke 10:19 says, “Look, I give you authority.” Friends, go use the authority the Lord has given you to change the world around you. This is a season of miracles! {eoa}

Is the US Doomed? Theologian Tackles a Major Biblical End-Times Question You’ve Never Considered

With the end times dominating so many headlines of late both before and after a failed Sept. 23 doomsday prediction, there are a plethora of eschatological questions emerging over what the Bible really says about the end of days.

Among them: Is America part of biblical prophecy? This is a question that author Jeff Kinley tackles in his new book, The End of America? as he explores what various theologians have to say about the matter.

Of course, the U.S. isn’t mentioned by name in the biblical Scriptures, leaving the door open to an array of debate about what role, if any, America plays in end times theology.

“It’s a very relevant question that we ask, because there are theologians who believe that America is mentioned in Scripture,” Kinley recently told “The Billy Hallowell Podcast.” “Obviously not by the name of America, but I outline in the book … six views of popular theologians who believe that America is identified in Scripture, specifically as it relates to the end times.”

In the end, while much is uncertain, Kinley said that there are two facts people can focus in on. First, he spoke of Israel’s founding as a nation in 1948—something that many people believe to be prophetic in nature.

“We were a part of that as Americans, as a country rather,” he said. “We sort of acted like a midwife in helping Israel be born and we have supported Israel through that. In fact, [we’ve] been Israel’s greatest ally from that time, until now. In that sense, we’ve had a role in the end times.”

Kinley also noted that the U.S. has “really pioneered the modern world expansion of the gospel” like no other country, explaining how America has taken that message to the globe.

“As we are living in these last days, I think America has had that role,” he said. “The question then becomes, what will happen to America and what will America look like when we actually reach the days of Revelation?”

Kinley attempts to answer these questions by providing potential scenarios in The End of America?

As for the current state of the country, he said that the U.S. is “in crisis right now” and is “at a critical state of decline,” tackling in his book the reasons why he believes this is the case, including the fact that the proportion of “nones”—those unaffiliated with a faith—has grown in recent years.

“I think we’re just, we’re thinking less of God,” he said. “We’re becoming much more secularistic in our approach to things and more religiously unaffiliated as ever before. I think there’s a decline in spirituality.”

In the end, though, Kinley said that he believes it’s possible to turn things around in America via her citizens.

“Can America be saved? My answer to that is, I’m not sure that America as the country will or will not be saved in the end, but I do know that Americans can be saved,” he said. “That’s really our call is to rise up and to make this our finest hour as believers, because we may well indeed be in those last hours.”

Signs of Revelation: Is Jesus About to Break the Last Seal?

This week Cepheus (The Crowned King) will reach its highest point in the Northern sky in the early evening hours.

Cepheus is one of the constellations associated with the Zodiacal constellation Pisces (The Fish), which represents the Church Age. The two fish, an early symbol of the Church, represent the Jewish and Christian believers who joined together to form the Church. The other constellation associated with Pisces, Andromeda (The Chained Woman), represents the suffering of the Jews who rejected Christ. Exactly 40 years on the Jewish calendar after Christ was crucified (Luke 21:32), the Romans surrounded Jerusalem and it was destroyed (Luke 21:20).

Cepheus shows us what Christ is doing during the Church Age. For, as He Himself said, He is sitting at the right hand of God in Heaven, and has been placed in the highest place as ruler of Heaven and Earth (Phil. 2:9-11). The star name Alphirk, the Redeemer, reminds us that Christ has redeemed us by his blood. The star name Alderamin, Coming Quickly, reminds us that after He was taken up to Heaven on the Mount of Olives the angels promised that He would return suddenly (Acts 1:11). And the Star name Alrai, “Who Breaks,” reminds us that Christ is the one was broke open the way (Mark 2:13) and breaks the seven seals in Revelation 5.

Interestingly, the first four of the seven seals, popularly known as the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, appear to be based celestial models. The white horse is Sagittarius, the symbol of Christ’s coming, but the horseman is a false Christ representing the False Messiah God-King claims of the Roman Emperors who persecuted the Church. The red horse is a false Centaurus, representing the false religion of Islam and its persecution of the Church. The scales of the black horse, Libra, are reminiscent of the scales of the atheistic French Revolution and represent persecution of the Church by secularism. Finally, the pale horse is a false Pegasus, carrying New Age spiritualism instead of the Holy Spirit and warning of persecution by New Age leaders such as Adolf Hitler. These four horsemen encompass the false religions of the world.

We live in the age of the fifth seal, when the Christians ask when God is going to bring an end to the suffering of the Church. The answer given is that God is waiting for the number of the martyrs, and by extension the Church, to be complete. Only then will the sixth and seventh seals be opened by Christ. The Church is still being built, as we are entering into a time of revival based on the unity of Christians. Read about it in our books The Mystery of the Blood Moons and Teshuvah Eclipses, which are available at Amazon and other bookstores.

You can participate in the Unity Revival by finding your brothers in other denominations, getting to know their giftings and working with them for the Kingdom. We ask you to consider learning more by attending the Kairos 2017 meeting in Kansas City on October 22-24, 2017. (See for more information.)

For now Cepheus remains in the Heaven, but we must know that Christ’s Return is very near as we wait for Him to “break” the last seal and then be “coming quickly” to our rescue. You can find His stars about halfway between the North Star and the Zenith Point.

Even so, come Lord Jesus. {eoa}

Do Your Words Give Life?

A leader may claim to lead with the mind of Christ, but a carnally minded leader isn’t difficult to discern.

Carnal leaders will get angry over relatively minor issues. Their opinions are the only opinions that matter. They do not seek to understand others’ views.

This leader is driven by internal fears and therefore needs to control everything and everyone.

There are many descriptions of carnally minded leaders that fill volumes of books. The overarching truth about these leaders is that they are usually quite aware of their behavior and have no desire to change. They believe their ways are the right ways.

Sadly, many also believe they are spiritual leaders.

A Spirit-led leader is different from a carnal leader in almost every way.

Consider these seven indicators of a Spirit-led leader:

  1. Displays a continual flow of gratitude.
  2. Believes the best in people and knows there is a reasonable explanation for unusual behavior in others.
  3. A Spirit-led leader regularly displays the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control.
  4. Demonstrates a teachable spirit.
  5. Walks by faith. He knows with an inner peace that God is in control of every situation.
  6. Considers the opinions of others but tests and considers the leading of the Holy Spirit above the opinions of man.
  7. He gives glory to God in his speech and is quick to invoke the name of Jesus in any environment.

People want to be around Spirit-led leaders because of what they have to say. A godly leader inspires people to come up higher.

Their words give life to the hearers.

Atheist-Turned-Christian Reveals Sharing the Gospel With Hugh Hefner

There has been no shortage of reaction to Playboy founder Hugh Hefner’s death, with many celebrities and fans heralding him —and with his critics lamenting the negative impact they believe he has had on our culture.

But among all of the noise, a fascinating tweet came from famed author Lee Strobel immediately following Hefnet’s death. The atheist-turned-Christian speaker and author revealed that he had once shared the gospel with Hefner.

“Hugh Hefner dead at 91. I remember sharing the Gospel with him,” Strobel tweeted. “He saw significance of the Resurrection but had never checked the evidence.” {eoa}

Satan’s Subtle Strategy That Distracts Us

Our enemy is a clever and expert con artist. We must watch vigilantly for Satan’s efforts through the discernment of the Holy Spirit and not simply rely on our own common sense.

Jesus describes Satan as “a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies” (John 8:44). If we stay on guard for only the obvious attacks, Satan will sneak in the back door with subtle lies. He can lure us into unethical business decisions, vices or unhealthy relationships—one small step at a time. Satan thrives on conflict—particularly among Christians.

As part of his divide-and-conquer tactic, he will develop small seeds of dissention capable of destroying our relationships, our families and our churches. Be on guard against the “socially acceptable” sins that can lead to disaster: a critical spirit, an unforgiving heart, a love for gossip, escalating ambition or even spiritual pride.

As we study the evil attributes of our enemy, our attention is drawn to God’s divine qualities. Where Satan is full of envy, greed and hatred, God is holy, just and righteous. Praise God today for His perfect and loving nature.

Prayer: God, I recognize that there have been times when I have fallen for Satan’s lies. Forgive me for those times and help me to always be on guard. Lord, I thank You that I can trust You and that You are perfect and loving. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

“[Love] rejoices not in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth” (1 Cor. 13:6). {eoa}

When the Devil Flings Accusations Your Way

What’s the point in all of this if we can’t be 100 percent? As I said in a previous post, being fake is so exhausting. And here I am, still struggling to put my life on display for others to see authenticity. And maybe some get annoyed because they think I’m complaining or venting online.

That’s truly not my intention. We live in a world where everything is so inauthentic. I mean, why do we feel obligated to wear makeup to the gym where we will (should) be sweating it off? Why do we feel like we have to mask our true selves?

We want to be loved and valued.

So, we’ve grabbed hold of the lie that if we can put up the mask that people want us to have, then maybe, just maybe, we will have more love and more control and less rejection.

Do you wear a mask?

My desire for being raw and honest about my life is not to complain or ask for your pity. (That’s a huge reason I’ve often haven’t shared my life: a fear of others pitying me or seeing that I’m weak.)

No, my desire in sharing my life is for others to see themselves in my struggles—to see they’re not alone and that there is hope.

We don’t have to live crippled by insecurity, and anxiety. We don’t have to live stuck in the quicksand of fear and depression.

I think our natural human disposition when we struggle is to just give up. I can’t tell you how many times thoughts of giving up have crossed my mind.

Almost every month, I contemplate giving up this blog. The insecurities that have come along with starting a new ministry and paving new ground have been daunting. I often feel emotionally and mentally drained to fight the thoughts of insecurity.

Growing up, I witnessed a lot of defeat.

My parents gave up on their marriage. I often gave up in my schooling because I felt incapable. I gave up on dancing because I was made fun of. I gave up on cheerleading because there was always someone who was better. Likewise, I didn’t pursue my love of singing because the work that it would take to be successful, I felt, was just too costly. And now in my adult years, I have just witnessed my own father give up his life, his relationships with his children and grandchildren because he didn’t want to fight addiction and forgive himself.

Do you feel marked by defeat, insecurity or rejection?

I could easily describe my life as one marked by defeat, but that would be dishonest.

Yes, I’ve seen a lot of people give up the fight and walk away, and I have given up a lot myself, but there was One who never gave up, even unto death. And He has marked me victorious!

Jesus Has Marked Me Victorious

So, even now, in this very moment where I feel tired of fighting the insecure thoughts. Thoughts of comparison. Thoughts of judgment. I am reminded, that those things are dead to me.

Because of the price Jesus paid on the cross—all the beatings, all the violation, all the degradation, he persevered unto death. And then he rose again. He left the grave and defeated death. Now I too can live dead to my sins and alive to Christ. Praise God!

So, here in this moment, as I type these words at the gym cafe, I say to myself—I am marked by victory! I am dead to insecurity, to depression, to anxiety … and I live with the risen King!

It is not easy to fight, but living in the shame of defeat will kill us. If we know something to be true, we must fight the good fight until the very end.

So, wherever this post finds you right now, I encourage you to press forward.
Fight back.
Persevere past difficulty.
Commit yourself to truth and to love.

We may not have it all together, but we will definitely not be counted with those who cower in fear.

You were not called to be a coward! You were called to live a victorious life. Take your rightful position! {eoa}

New York Times Best-Selling Author Jonathan Cahn Does It Again

FrontLine, an imprint of Charisma House, is excited to announce that Jonathan Cahn’s latest release, The Paradigm, has debuted on various best-seller lists, including those of The New York Times (Oct. 8 list) and USA Today.

We acknowledge the tremendous writing efforts of Jonathan Cahn and congratulate him on this achievement.

“This is a significant milestone for Jonathan Cahn and for Charisma House. The Paradigm has achieved the highest ranking of any of Jonathan’s books, debuting at No. 5 on the New York Times best-seller list and No. 12 on USA Today‘s list. We are thrilled for Jonathan,” says Marcos Perez, publisher of Charisma House.

The Paradigm, which released Sept. 19, is the fourth book from the acclaimed author and is now on its third printing, with over 350,000 copies in print. His prior books include The Harbinger and The Book of Mysteries. In fact, the mysteries in the immensely popular The Harbinger, which spent 120 weeks on the New York Times list, are intertwined with many of the mysteries of The Paradigm. Cahn’s new book reveals how today’s cultural and political events were foretold by the Bible nearly 3,000 years ago. Cahn cites passages from 1 and 2 Kings to draw parallels between modern-day political figures and ancient leaders of Israel.

Cahn writes in his newest book, “In The Paradigm it is the age itself that constitutes the prophetic revelation and the times in which we live, the harbinger. In The Paradigm current events become the manifestations of an ancient mystery.

“We will see ancient monarchs and modern presidents merging together, the reigns and actions of ancient kings governing the reigns and actions of modern leaders, ancient scandals lying behind modern scandals and the events of ancient times determining the course, the direction and the timing of the events of the modern world.”

Known for opening the deep mysteries of Scripture and bringing forth messages of prophetic import, Cahn unveils his most explosive book to date.

Cahn says, “The God of the Bible, who was actively and dynamically involved in the events of the ancient world, is just as actively and dynamically involved in the events of the modern world and of our day.”

4 Ways Your Puerto Rico Donation Can Bring the Love of Jesus

Millions of Americans and beyond have been devastated by recent natural disasters that have killed friends and family members in Mexico and Puerto Rico.

The earthquakes and hurricanes have been labeled as “mind-boggling,” and the most destructive in history.

Now, more than ever, is a chance for the church to rise up. That’s why the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Council is calling for 4,000 churches to partner with them to serve the hurting communities.

“It has four elements to it,” NHCLC President Samuel Rodriguez tells Charisma News. “One, 4,000 churches in the U.S. adopt one church in Puerto Rico. There are about 3,000 churches in Puerto Rico that have impacted—either harmed, jeopardized, compromised or destroyed by the hurricane. And 1,000 in Mexico. So 4,000 churches in the U.S. adopt a church each—3,000 in Puerto Rico, 1,000 in Mexico. That adoption is for one year. It’s a commitment to help the pastor, the pastor personally, with their income, their salary, their finances, and to send a mission team, a mission team to help rebuild that church. That’s the commitment.”

Churches could choose to give $500-1,000 per month to their adopted church.

Second, NHCLC has partnered with Convoy of Hope to serve as its distribution partner in both Puerto Rico and Mexico. The NHCLC strongly encourages people to donate to Convoy of Hope and mention this campaign. Rather than collecting supplies at your church, financial donations are preferred at this time as they will empower Convoy of Hope to both purchase and effectively distribute supplies.

Third, the group partnered with New York City Councilman Fernando Cabrera to fill a cargo plane in New York City and travel to Puerto Rico with supplies to address basic necessities.

Fourth, The NHCLC will host benefit concerts in partnership with Christine D’ Clario and other Christian artists committed to equipping the church and restoring the nations.

“We have this campaign called Equip the Church or Restore the Church to rebuild the nation, so we’re sending some pastors and leaders in the month of November and December to help pastors over there and minister to the community and provide ministerial support. So it’s all on the website. We are working with Wanda Rolon and her chapter in Puerto Rico, the NHCLC chapter, addressing our churches there and we’ve been in constant contact, in constant contact with them. So what we’re doing is anyone who gives money to the NHCLC directly, every single penny, without exception, will be given to the churches in Puerto Rico to Wanda Rolon, William Hernandez and our leadership in Puerto Rico to distribute to pastors in order for them to continue to do ministry in the name of Jesus.”
